The most recent match against a fellow majin made Nal realise how woefully lacking her offensive skills were. If she wanted to be a real hero, she had to get stronger - all of the awesome people from legends were able to defeat poweful foes, while she barely even scraped against Zam! Sure, she did some damage, especially with that sword (the memory of the frenzied rage the pink majin entered still haunted Nal during her naps) - but in general, she's taken like...five times that much pain. Or more. Or less, she wasn't quite sure how to quantify pain anyway.
So the option was simple - practice using her special powers to hit more and hit better. And, of course, fight other people, who also are strong, then get stronger afterwards. It was... exactly the plan she's had before meeting Zam and getting stomped to dust by her, but at least, this time it was more defined. And she knew just who to meet to fight.
There were three people that she knew that were not Zam: Kiryu, Bryce and Atalan. Kiryu she knew for a fact left and she would have to stalk him to fight him. Atalan's power was moving away lasts he sensed it, so it means he had to be leaving too, she'd have to find that man and pit her mystic power against his witchcraft another day. Bryce, however... his energy was awfully difficult to track to some reason. But the gray majin had to hope he was still around. And, of course, find the technoman and fight him, for all the good that will do. She was still weak and didn't know any special attacks, but the last few days after her fight with Zam, she spent practicing the focus of her powers and - outside of simply noticing a frightful increase in her own power after that fight - she noticed a little bit of improvement. Maybe it had to be tested in real combat to properly set in and manifest the effect she wanted!
The majin decided to go where they met first - in the desert, on the way to Central City. From there, they went down the road, talking about gods, demons and books. She remembered that talk... somewhat. It was when she figured out the man was a technoman, then - that she might be considered a demon to some people. It didn't really bother her much, but the idea of gods being those invisible friends you talk to just felt dumb. She talked to herself all the time, that didn't mean she spoke to any gods! As she walked and thought, the city started looming in the distance. And as she entered it, the little majin started asking around - "Did you see a big man, with a scar from his eye down the side, big mark saying God on his chest and rather grumpy? I'm looking for him." Asking enough people, she went north of the city. Hopefully someone would see Bryce and tell him there was that little, gray girl asking around that went north.
And there, the gray girl plopped down on a flat rock, crossing her legs and arms, grinning. And waiting. This time, the small bag of candy was all for her - she ate it while waiting, to keep herself entertained and energetic. It would be rather embarassing if her friend (kinda? probably?) showed up for a fight and caught her napping. But, she promised to herself that even if all of the candy had to be eaten, she would endure. There would be no napping.
At least yet.

Things had happened, things he wasn't quite sure he liked. First the loss of someone he didn't even know played a large role in his life, second was the fact he thought and even said things he didn't want to think opr say, and the third thing was that he was feeling less and less like himself. Almost as if.. the people he spoke to had been correct - he was losing himself in this infinite life of his. And the worst part of it all was that he didn't really care anymore, the thoughts of just hunting down random people now running rampant in his mind like a dog not knowing which food to eat. Luckily he knew better than to give in to those thoughts. For now.
As he entered the giant city that seemed to be the center of everything, he would instantly get looks from almost everyone around. It was like the first time he went there, only this time there was no Nal around to share the looks with. Bryce wondered how she was doing.. if she had gotten anything useful from the little time they spent together, and if she ever got to go back to that Kiryu person she mentioned to him. Maybe he was going to find that Kiryu himself some day and mention that some small blob of way too much energy spoke of him with high regard, he supposed that was something anyone would like to hear.
His hand stroked his chin for a bit as he heard a voice from behind him, talking specifically to the technoman as the woman then politely told him there was some gray goo thingy looking for him, before pointing him in the direction of the direction she presumably went. ''Thank you.'' He thanked the woman, though there was something else he also wanted to say, though he kept that indoors for now, though hopefully that for now would turn out to be indefinite.
While walking in the direction the woman pointed him in he would chastise himself silently for even daring to think things like that about innocent people. And as he walked, trying to focus on the fact that there apparently was some gray girl looking for him, he quickly found his mind going to places he didn't want. It seemed that what happened back at the martial arts tournament was happening more frequently now. It scared the mandroid, really.
He would then quickly, to pull his mind from the thoughts he didn't want to have, notice a blob in the distance and hoped it was Nal, who was the only gray person around that he knew of. Not because the people in the city had told him there was someone looking for him, but because he wanted a break from being alone with his own mind. And as he then drew closer he would be able to piece together that the figure was indeed Nal, sitting on a rock with something in her mouth. It seemed that wherever Nal was, food wasn't far off. This sight made Bryce chuckle even as he stood close enough for her to hear him do so.
''Heard you, or someone, was looking for me?'' He said, trying to be more talkative than normal to keep his mind from going to dark places once more. ''Is there any truth to that?'' =============== WC: 564

Silence. Silence... nope, that was just a rock sliding off a dune. More silence... that was a snake, but while Nal loved snakes, it wasn't who she was waiting for. More silence... some wind, some... footsteps? Footsteps!
The gray girl opened her eyes, grinning widely - only one person she knew was this huge and had that weird rune on the chest. It had to be Bryce! Hopping to her feet, the little majin reached out to her satchel, to pick up one of the absolute treasures of confectionery she had encountered - a wrapped up almond, closed in a creme-filled ball of biscuit, dipped in white chocolate and sprinkled with coconut shavings all over. That treasure was then reached out to one of her first friends!
"Hi! Yes. I was looking for you. Come sit and eat and listen because I have a lot to say" - she said, something that should probably be considered a warning. But, they had to catch up! And indeed she sat down, picking up a capsule and tossing it onto the ground, poofing a small refrigerator into existence - filled with drinks. All manner of juices, some brand, some off-brand. She picked one up - the (in)famous Hetap, cracked it open and chugged down the entire can, before launching into a barrage of words.
"So I was looking for Kiryu, but I sensed that he was too far away to be actually sensed, so then I decided to ask around, but I found out there's some problem in the mines. So I went into the mines and found out where the people had gone missing, there was some group worshipping a demon, I punched the demon and he ran away, but I found some weird ore infused with my kind of mystic magic, so I took that and went to find someone to help me make something out of it, because you know that heroes always have swords or something in their tales... well maybe not always but I wanted one so I went to make one, I met some guy called Atalan who has a smiliar magic to mine, but not exactly the same! And we met a small demon imp that was mean and played a lot of tricks on us, but showed us both how to make use of our ores, because Atalan had some too and we made swords out of them. So we made the swords and he disappeared on us, then I was walking around the demonlands, because that's where we went, and then I heard about this really powerful guy they call Fist of the South Star and decided to find him and learn from him, but before that I sensed another power that was strong and like mine, which turned out to be another majin, Zam, and we chatted and then we fought and we are friends now, but she absolutely wrecked me and I feel like I need to get stronger and learn some actual strong attacks, so I thought of you. I wanna train with you! Wanna train with me too?"
Not a single breath break - not until the very end, where she took in a deep breath, grinned - and hopped up to her feet, crushing the can in her hand and tossing it away. She hoped he'd say yes - more friendly spars would be fun! "But if you want, you can tell me what you were up to first! Or after. It's up to you, I wanna hear all about your travels too." - the majin said, tilting her head to the side with curiousity.

First up, after listening to that tale, was a healthy inhale. Something Bryce had to do simply by listening to Nal even if he didn't need oxygen himself. Boy, could she prattle on about nothing.. but at least she hadn't been sitting idle, Bryce supposed. Her words were listened to even if the mandroid finished her sentences mentally with things like ''-and then you killed him.'' among other things, and it kind of caught Vandross by surprise as he tried to focus just on the spoken word, then. Though that was proving to be difficult when it was all just one long run on sentence and those were high on Bryce's list of things to ignore.
Still, there were some things worthy of notice in there, like how she had a sword now, fought a demon and lost to another, ending up wanting to become stronger as well as seeing herself as a hero of her own story. A hero that challenged him, no less. Did that mean she saw him as the villain of her story, or was it just a spar to help them both get stronger?
No, she definitely saw him as the villain here and-
He pushed the thought from his mind with a mental shake and turned his head to the refrigerator she carried with her. The drinks were all staring at him and almost begged for him to drink them, though Bryce knew better than to drink poison.. which was another thought that was not suited for the situation. He decided to not take anything though since he was not in need of anything liquid. Thirst didn't affect him in the same way he assumed it did Nal, or pretty much anyone else. He drank before, though that just ended up in him drinking a bit too much for his own good.
When she asked him for stories of his own travels though, she got him thinking as his gaze pointed up a bit, his arms crossing over his chest then as he hummed a bit. ''I met someone I didn't know existed.'' He said, looking at the giant mark on his chest, smiling a bit before sighing. ''He's not who I hoped I'd run into, not in the least.. no.'' He shook his head in disappointment. ''I had hhoped to run into someone who could help me more than he could.. I liked gods being invisible, not false.'' Bryce added, his gaze dwindling down to the ground as he then had a short pause to gather his thoughts, and think of more interesting things to mention.
''I found more people like me though.'' He told Nal, hoping she'd at least find that interesting. ''It's only a shame that they're all treating me like the bad guy.. even when I clearly don't know what I'm doing myself.. I told them that, but no one will have it. There are 11 of us, and we're all made by the same guy, each one better than the other, and guess who's last in this line?'' Bryce held a weak smile as he looked at the blobby girl next to him. ''The last one made is also burdened with carrying the hate of all the others, it seems, and it's not fun.''
He looked at Nal and sighed for a moment, gathering his mind and trying to focus on what she asked him before he went off in the tangent that was called spiraling.
''I'd enjoy training with you.'' He said, though he knew for a fact already he'd kill her like the weak majin she was. Wait, that wasn't right, was it? ''I am very game for a friendly match right now.. I need some anchoring down.'' Bryce added as he dropped down into a fighting stance. ============== WC: 1195

The majin grinned happily. "Well then!" she said, hopping a few times in the air before assuming a combat stance. Then beginning to sense... up close it was easier to gauge the powerlevel of her friend and... wow was it massive. Not quite Kiryu levels, but it was almost as strong as Zam when she was so enraged! But this time, this didn't feel so overpowering. Nal felt her own inner power well up in anticipation, wanting to be unleashed! Again, she wouldn't have to hold back at all. The fact so many people she met were stronger than her worried Nal a little... was she just weaker than everyone else? What kind of a hero is weak? Not the kind she ever read of! "How can someone carry all the hate from others aid is that why you're so grumpy all the time?" - she asked, focusing on the story a little - the majin did listen! Despite not at all looking like she did, typically to her and her kind. Eleven androids, ones that are incrementally better until the last one comes along. And the last one being, she thought, the technoman in front of her. Interesting! It would be fun to maybe find them all at some point later, but that was not now, not yet. Here and now was the duel! So they both could get better. She would probably lose, still not really having anything to fight with other than her fists and maybe the sword, but it would at least be helpful. Work through the pain, as someone once said! "Also, you met a god that was false? Eh, I did too, kind of, that demon I met was being worshipped like one. No reason to worry about them, just punch them in the face and move on. Speaking of punching though! Let's get started before I start talking again."And with that, Nal focused. Bryce let out a laugh as Nal spoke of simple things like just punching a problem to make it go away, which would help if you did it hard enough, but for now punching someone he saw as nothing more than a person he could learn from wasn't the most constructive thing to do. Except when they asked, which was what this majin girl had done. He watched as the girl hopped up and down a few times and had a weird kind of jiggle.. like you would expect pudding to have in an earthquake. It was odd, but would also mean that she would be able to take quite a few hits and just bounce back. That was what the mandroid assumed anyway. His eyes followed her then as she said he was grumpy, asking if it was because he had the anger of the others on his shoulders, which was not the case as Bryce would shake his head at the question. ''I guess.. I'm just not used to having any kind of opinion.'' He explained with a shrug. ''Either that or the fact that I don't know anything of my past is the culprit here..'' He said with a laugh, one of his hands scratching at the back of his head as he paused, though he quickly lowered his hand again and resumed the same stance as before. Being able to talk to someone and having them listen was great, but it seemed that first they would need to have a fucking massacre. ''A spar,'' He reminded himself as he exhaled silently so as to not let Nal know there wass a problem. In fact, the fight to not let her know anything would prove harder than the actual fight, since he was already mixing up thoughts, and once even mentioned to someone he was going to end them. What if that happened in a spar meant to get stronger? ''But enough of that.'' Bryce followed up, his hand opening up and motioning for Nal to have at him. ''Let's train first. We can talk later.'' ============== WC: 1544 PpVmvGHd1d100{Battle info!}Defensive Phase Bryce is hit 0 time(s) for 0 damage!

Indeed, it was enough of that. It was time for a spar! Nal didn't know if she could win - expected not, given she still haven't mastered her new furious fist, but she would give it her best try anyway. Hopefully she'd at least be able to lay a hit or two! "Alright!" - the majin chirped, then clenched her fists and let out a triumphant shout. Her aura flared up and with it - the majin's power rose, well beyond what she was ever capable of before! The girl grinned at herself, staring at her fist as the feeling of might surged in her. It still wasn't going to win the fight for her, but it would probably help. Nal grinned once more, towards Bryce, her hair tendrils morphing into a wilder shape, partly mimicing a saiyan's spiky hair - but mostly just standing up and curling here and there, to be out of the way. While at it, the empowered majin began considering her first move... The hair was a neat touch. And as Bryce noticed that, he also realized this was going to be the first time he would see her skills in action, not that he'd heard of them either way. But the main thing here was that they had never fought, and that kind of excited the technoman. He reached out with his sense right then, and as his eye 'spoke' back to him it told him that her power rivaled his own, which was.. not what he thought when he first met her, or even right now! The way she acted, moved, the fact she almost always ate candy.. she was like a child. Wait, no. Not already. Bryce slapped himself a few times before trying to refocus on what was at hand, the fact that he didn't know what to expect aside from just the ordinary punches and kicks. And that sword she mentioned, though the very thought of someone wielding yet another goddamn sword in a fucking training match annoyed him to no end. And that was a glitch he happily let exist, and wouldn't try to hide. ''Ready?'' He asked as his mind had finished thinking of all the possible occurances. Though he was aware that there could very well be a suprise or two. ''Then come at me with all you have!'' ============== WC: 1777 {Battle info!}Defensive Phase Bryce is hit 0 time(s) for 0 damage!

The majin grinned even wider, by now probably reminiscent of the Cheshire cat. "Well I can't promise much. I still didn't managed to get a proper punch out of my power yet." - she said, but then - indeed came forth. The gray aura burned with deep green sparks, flaring up even further as the gray majin rushed forward, her sword remaining in it's scabbard, where it belonged. Nal wondered how strong and how tough the man was. Probably not tough as she was, but he seemed like hitting him at all would be an annoying chore. Big and lanky, probably lots of dodging. But, there was little she could do for now, so what she did do was a strike. The gray girl charged forth, spurred on by the welling up power of her aura, dashing towards her friend. (and foe, currently!) The majin threw a punch, aimed right at the god rune on the technoman's chest - even though she had to leap at the last moment of her charge to land it! Followed by landing on the ground and pushing herself up in a vicious uppercut! One of these might've hit. Hopefully. Whether they hit or not, Nal was studying the android, his actions, reactions, speed and defenses, then obviously, bracing for the onslaught that would come. There would be a lot of punching for sure. Lots of dodging, probably, as she already guessed. But more importantly, she wanted to gauge just how much would the man hold back, if at all. Trying to decide how far to go herself, whether to use the sword - last time she did, didn't exactly end well, so she decided to only show it off if needed, or if she would be about to lose without even landing a single blow. Even little, nerdy majins had their honour! Coming at him was indeed what Nal did, the one suprise here being was that it came fast and hard, something Bryce did not expect from something so small. Her aura surged as she extended a fist aimed at his chest's center, and leapt up a bit as she did so, likely to get a bit of downward thrust on the ink. If it hit, it would have surely been something that the android felt and he knew that, so he would have to avoid being hit at all, which ended up being almost instinctively for him. When the fist had almost reached him his own hand shot up and pushed down on the fist being aimed at him, slowing it down enough for Bryce to spin around it. Sadly, that move allowed Nal to move with the momentum, and as the technoman had his back turned she would use that moment of him not seeing anything to launch an uppercut. Now, he knew about it because while he couldn't see, he could still sense. Also his eye told him of the incoming danger, and those two things combined would cause him to push one foot of the ground and leap back a bit to prevent the fist from hitting him. He smiled and spun around once more, trying to unleash a single sweeping low kick aimed at the feet of the majin. Twisting his feet after that, not knowing yet if he'd hit and not taking the time to see, he would uncross his legs to get up gracefully with an extended open palm, either trying to hit her if she didn't somehow avoided it, or simply just getting to his feet with style. ============== WC: 2062 {Battle info!}Defensive Phase Bryce is hit 0 time(s) for 0 damage!

And there it was. Two hits she thought went rather well - missed entirely. Not only that, but then the technoman moved so fast - Nal realised there was no way whatsoever she could dodge any of this. And indeed she did not - first her legs were swept from under the girl, causing her to stumble and stagger, before a flat palm strike made her stagger even more, keeping on the feet by sheer miracle of being able to realign her own center of balance, as the midsection of her body extended and pressed the torso far further than it naturally should be able to, which the legs soon followed to make the majin whole once more. And less eerie to look at. Worse than that, both of these strikes really hurt. Even through her irrational toughness, it felt like the strikes were made by a bulldozer. Hitting just the right places to place some serious hurt on the majin. She grumbled under the breath, knowing this would be another fight she has no chance of winning. At this rate, it would be lucky to even get a single hit in, to not entirely lose without as much as a dent in the foe. This made Nal scowl, sigh, then prepare. Whatever - she was in it to learn and get stronger, so that one day she could be of use and be a real hero. Like everyone else. Maybe then, she wouldn't feel so hopelessly pointless like now. First off, she willed her injuries to close. And the green aura knitted the flesh and faded her bruises, not all, but enough to keep going without a risk of collapsing on the spot. Then, the majin grew - visually increasing her height to be about on par with the towering technoman, but also a bit broader than him, giving herself at least a tiny bit of pride in that! And third - dashing forth to strike almost on the spot, without preparation. One strike went to the man's stomach, were it to hit, it'd press deeper on, to lift the friendly foe off his feet for a brief second. Then, copying his style a little perhaps, the majin went with the momentum - either rolling with the miss (more likely, in her mind), or with the force of pulling her hand back - the now enlarged girl spun on the spot, to deliver a nasty backhand to Bryce's head. One of those might hit. Maybe. [408|2256] BATTLE TRACKER{Click Here For Numbers!}DEFENSE PHASE: Attack 1: Nal 55 vs Bryce 126 = Hit! Attack 2: Nal 55 vs Bryce 89 = Hit! Total damage: 31 - 12 = 19

There was no real damage, and the bit of visible damage that was done faded quickly to the point of Nal being very nearly the same before the hits. This both confused Bryce as well as made him happy, because, he didn't know how she did it but it meant she could take more damage than most, unlike that Savina or that other unnamed girl.. Cade also sprung to mind. They all hit their marks, but after a set amount of hits they were out, and all the hits done by Bryce had always left their mark. With Nal, not so much, she seemed to be able to go back to a state before physical changes, he supposed. Wasn't that what being zen was all about? Wait. Was it? Did she know more of his way of life than himself? Was it even still his way of life? Was it.. bitch! She made him confused! ''You're-'' He was about to make a rude remark when he was cut short by the majin girl suddenly being able to look him in the eyes when she wasn't a few seconds ago. And she was wider too.. more bulk. Interesting. This girl was interesting! A punching bag! A victim! A bug to be crushed under his boot! Wait, no. Nothing like that. This was a friendly match, and as Bryce was still telling himself that he sensed a giant mass of energy rush forward and throw a concentrated lump of energy forward. Nal. He was able to counter it despite all the changes though, and more easily if he was being honest due to the increased area he could hit. But first, one of his hands popped up and with an open palm he blocked the first hit, only to have his other hand pop up and block the backhanded slap she was about to give him. Dick move. Bryce squinted as he became irritated, his arm that was closest to her folding inward with his elbow aiming to strike across her face that, if a hit, would make her spin in place. But in order to counter her doing that, the mandroid folded in his other arm and attempted to slam that elbow against her shoulder that was closest to him, in the hopes of it hitting and spinning her right back, in order to make her lose her balance. ============ WC: 2460 {Battle info!}Defensive Phase Bryce is hit 0 time(s) for 0 damage!

Once more, she missed, once more, she grew more frustrated. Would she even manage to hit at all? If not, it'd pretty much be a waste of time, how can she learn to strike better if there are no strikes that even connect? And in return, she was approached with a smack to the face, which turned her head around... and head alone. Confused by that, Nal didn't even know there was a second hit to dodge - and that punch made her body turn it it's entirety, to match the twisted around head. The majin held said head on both sides and shook them, looking down at her body - it was still large, still wide. "Huh. It lasted more than one hit." - she commented, remembering how Zam's beam of power evaporated it (and almost evaporated her while at it), she then remembered the onslaught of Koma's hits (though truth be told, she was holding back that time) - and realised that this form is more potent than it seems, though mostly as a buffer to tough up another hit or two - at least now, what good is a giant body if it never hits anything? With that in mind, the gray majin let her senses loose. And then focused them again, to try and get a bead on Bryce, try and predict his movements. Sense where he will be, and how will he dodge, and make that next strike count. With the next pair of strikes being twin slams with her fists - to each side of the technoman's body. Like a pair of smithing pincers gripping a metal ingot, except the pincers were gray, malleable fists and the iron - a man made partially out of steel. Nal wasn't creative in her metaphors. The head spinning when the rest of the body did not move was odd to behold, unnatural, even. But Bryce didn't hate seeing it happen, which was disturbing for a very obvious reason. Heads were supposed not to turn that much as hers just did without the person in question dying. And not only did she not die, she expressed more confusion and concern for her body than her neck. Was.. was that a thing of majins? Even if he had seen them before- which he didn't know, he knew next to nothing about their bodies and what made them tick. No time like the present, he supposed. Not that he was going to open her up and dig around, though he was scared to acknowledge the fact it was tempting to do so despite knowing it was wrong. Her body was.. malleable though. Her fists.. the same as they tried to hit him, and as the android was busy wondering about what her body could do he was unable to respond in time. Both his arms jumped up as he saw the incoming arms from both sides, and due to some lackluster positioning he was able to block them, but not without sustaining a glancing blow. Seemed like she finally hit something. Bryce's face showed her a smirk as he held both his own arms up in the air, using them as a sort of stepping stone by moving his arms up, and throwing his hands down upon them to lift himself up in the air or the girl down to the ground. Whichever. He used it to aim the toe of his boot at her chin though, and whether or not that hit he would then use one of his previously preoccupied hands to hover above her head, attempting to push her down to the ground with a slam right then. ============= WC: 2774 {Battle info!}Defensive Phase Bryce is hit 1 time(s) for 13 damage! 13 dmg - 5 DR = 8 damage!

A hit! She actually scored a hit! Content with herself, the majin grinned, figuring that at least the fight won't be entirely one sided. She didn't really expect to win either way... though Bryce proven irritating to hit, while Zam was difficult to actually injure. In both cases, she failed to win. And Nal wasn't quite certain why that happened... was this weird magic power not actually all that good at fighting? Her musings costed her a kick to the chin, which staggered the gray majin, then - two hands smashed into her, compressing the girl into the ground and back into her regular, lithe form, as the gelatinous flesh reformed and compensated for some of the injuries dealt. Nal was small again, shaking her head to return to consciousness proper. Feeling her power rise and, seemingly, just trying to understand it more, the majin decided to focus on healing - herself, more than anything. The green aura flaring up and burning away almost any trace of injury she had received throughout the entire combat! "I don't think this power wants to fight much" - the girl commented, looking at her hand, then clenching it into a fist. Whatever the power wanted was irrelevant. Right now, she had a friendly spar to finish, if she wanted to ever get stronger, it was still a way to do it. And the worrying of what after that could, and would, be left for later. Now, there are fists that need hitting things and hits that need to be taken. With the green flame still washing over her fists, the majin decided to follow with it and punch into the (now larger again) technoman's stomach with all her might! Trying to use the green force to make the strike better. Then, for good measure, the second fist rushed for the same spot, with the green flames flickering and fading before it connected. Not quite there yet, Nal. [321|2868] BATTLE TRACKER{Click Here For Numbers!}DEFENSE PHASE: Attack 1: Nal 45 vs Bryce 183 = Hit! Attack 2: Nal 45 vs Bryce 101 = Hit! Total damage: 29 - 12 = 17
