Ty was suddenly pulled up on her feet by her shoulder, dropping her bundled sweater on the hull of the speed boat, and was embraced tightly by Cayle on top of feeling his tail on her side. She never felt so vulnerable before and she was convinced that she needed to get out of this rut quickly if she wanted to take life by the reigns. In a way, she thought Cayle needed to be hugged as much as she did, but he might have not known for sure if he hardly let his emotions on display in the first place, and she could not help but return the hug tightly. While they may have been complete strangers the level of trust was difficult to ignore and Ty had no choice but to follow along since every part of her being told her it was fine.
“Thanks for reminding me that hopes and dreams are more than just imaginary until they are realized. I am just so used to studying for final exams that it is difficult to think of anything outside of biology. I will remember that actions define a person rather than genetics, always.”
After some reassurance she looked up to meet his gaze while he held her and asked about birthdays she smiled then. Was something so simple as the day someone is born not worth celebrated by Saiyans? The fact that he was not from earth meant their culture was vastly different and it was going to take quite some time until they learned everything about each other. The only thought that nagged at the back of her mind was if Cayle was generally this nice to people or if it was because she was like an open book.
“Well birthdays among earthlings involve friends and family who gather to celebrate the day their loved one is born to appreciate their existence. A present is not required but it serves as a momento for that happy day. I have been celebrating with just my parents my whole life and preferred something different this time… especially since I am kind of tired of reading history, math, and science. I wanted to try learning everything from experience outside of books, so I kinda ran away from home. My father is very protective so he is not going to be thrilled when I come back. Are you sure you want to meet him still?”
After a while Ty started blushing because he was still holding her but she did not know how to settle her feelings about his embrace. Earlier he wanted to avoid all contact by pushing the boat instead, she was starting to get confused about how to go about things socially, and whether or not it was acceptable.

It wasn't that Saiyans did not value the day someone close to them was born on so much as the average Saiyan in Cayle's era had much more pressing matters to worry about and were lucky if they had food in the cook pot every night to consider celebrating someone's anniversary of birth. They functionally lived as refugees in the generation that Cayle was from and the one which was before it, farming for subsistence and hunting but not doing so well that they experienced any great prosperity, given the elites or the Tuffles controlled the non-marginal lands of the planet.
Cayle listened patiently, without saying a thing until Tiger Lily was finished, and then he spoke up. “Yes, I think I would like to meet him. A father that is doing his job should be protective of his children, otherwise a whitefang or some other predatory beast... or person who is basically the same as that, might come along.” for a moment he said it, seeming entirely friendly and happy, but then he thought of his own father and the fact that even if he was lucky he would likely never be able to see the man again. He had not thought about it before, and indeed during the more than a decade of torture and experimentation which he suffered at under the Tuffle Science Executive, seeing his father and mother again, as well as his siblings, was one of the things which pushed him forward. That he would be able to see them and make everything all right, like an older brother should. “Is he a.... what is the earthling typical term? Muskate? Oh, no, it's Martial Artist. Is he a Martial Artist?” the Saiyan said, before giving the girl a nod and hopping to the edge of the boat's rear, preparing to fly and push the boat forward in which direction they were going.
“You'll have to guide me, where is it from South City, your home?” the Saiyan former farm boy asked the red headed young woman.

A sigh of relief escaped her lips as he finally released her, she was starting to feel weak at her ankles along with the feeling of melting entirely as her heart was beating so fast it was difficult to control herself, taking a seat in front of the control panel of the boat she took a deep breath to regulate the panic she was suffering from internally. If she remembered correctly, Cayle blushed the first time, and in her observation it possibly meant he did not interact physically with affections at people like he did with her but until he denied it there was no telling what it all meant to both of them. Ty blinked a few times as Cayle tried to pronounce something difficult, she realized then that he was having trouble pronouncing words that were not native to him, and martial arts was one of them.
“I believe my father is a martial artist but it’s not like he has trophies or gear to prove it around the house. Both my parents grew up in south city together as childhood friends. Mother always said he never stopped training so that is probably what happened. I was always told I needed to study and get an education so I was never formally trained in martial arts...but I want to try different things first and decide for myself.”
She turned to look at the instruments on the boat and at the gyroscope compass then drew Cayle’s attention to it so he could learn how to use it. “This is how you navigate in the world. There is longitude and latitude coordinates like a grid mapped on the entire earth. We are currently in the Southern Islands, more specifically South City, we are on the Eastern part of the island.” Ty pointed with her index finger to visually explain what she learned from studying, “North is further up, South is down, East is right, and West is left. On the compass it is marked as N, E, S, W. We want the marker to display E to travel East from here. We will come across papaya island and then continue South from there until we find an archipelago of islands, which is to say a cluster of land on the ocean, my parents live on the southern end, the last island…”
Ty was starting to dread meeting her father again, while he may have not pressured her into studying, he still expected her to remain under his care, and she wanted independence in order to stop learning from books in order to gain knowledge from real world experience. Cayle used his flight to begin pushing the boat as planned, even if he did not learn how to use the gyroscope compass, Ty was able to adjust his heading by monitoring it. By the time they arrived, evidence that a typhoon hit was clear, Lily was cleaning up the debris, and Koba was on the roof repairing the roof with a hammer and nails wedged between his lips which had a decently trimmed goatee. Both of Ty’s parents stopped what they were doing to see their daughter arrive.
Lily dropped the rake she was holding and rushed over excitedly. The woman did not look that much older than Ty, which meant she must have been a teen when she became a mother, she had curly blonde hair kept back by hair band, and was wearing jeans and an off shoulder floral crop top. She was relieved to see that her daughter was safe and that the neighbors speed boat was salvaged since the old man could not run his errands without it.
“Tiger Lily! I was so worried that you left and got caught in that dreadful typhoon. Your father had to rush the neighbor to the hospital when his roof caved in. It is a good thing you brought his boat back because he will need routine doctor visits on his injured arm. I am glad you are back—” Lily’s brown eyes looked over at Cayle and she screeched delightfully, “You brought a boy home! Oh he is so handsome! Don’t tell me you’re here to elope—”
Lily was cut off from her words when Koba leaped from the roof to the sand behind his wife, fully powered up, his ki signature reaching the highest limits as a faint glow surrounded his form. The saiyan was deeply tan, unlike his pale skinned wife who remained indoors, he was gruff, his black hair kept short and was wearing a white muscle shirt with a pair of jeans. As time passed by, his muscles were starting to bulge as his green eyes focused solely on Cayle until he looked over at his daughter speaking rather sternly, “Kuri, what is the meaning of this?!”
“It’s Ty! You both call me different names! I am not a pet. I deserve to be called what is on my birth certificate or the short version of it.” She leaped out of the boat and took a sloppy fighting stance, it was out of saiyan instinct to be challenged, and she powered up as well for the very first time in her life. “Eh? What?”
“Oh, Ty. You are glowing. You have your father’s fighting spirit.” Lily mused, “I will go get refreshments for our honored guest.” She hummed as she went inside the small two bedroom house.

The Saiyan former farm boy was silent when he was pushing the boat, following Ty's guidance and the shift of the ship's stern. He did not bother to reply with “I know what directions are” because of course he knew what the cardinal directions were, everyone had those. The Saiyan peasant was largely silenty as he smelled the sea air and used the ship to balance as he hovered above the water and the waves which they cut through with the boat.
When they finally arrived, he pushed the boat onto the shore enough that it was not going to float away, and was silent beyond that. He simply watched, waited, and listened as Tiger Lily's parents reacted the way that they did, before Ty's father challenged him in this manner. Some level of instinctive anger welled up in him, surprising the Saiyan former test subject as he felt the emotion at someone acting like that- Cayle was not some wild animal who acted like one, even if the Tuffles thought that was what Saiyans were.
Instead, the Saiyan stood his ground and when he noticed Ty also power up, he sensed the man's oddly familiar power level. As Lily left to head to the inside of the house and prepare refreshments, Cayle's nostrils moved instinctively and he took a deep breath, taking in the scents of the recently hit island and more importantly for them all, noticing that there was a secret in plain sight. That smell was not the smell of an Earthman of any variety, it was the smell of something far more familiar. Instinctively as they stood there with that tension in the air so thick it could be cut with a knife, the dark brown haired, icy blue eyed Saiyan wrapped his tail around his waist and then tilted his head.
“Excuse me sir but I didn't come here to fight. I came here to meet you and your wife. Koba Kalabasa is it? That confirms it, what your daughter thought after she met me and found out about the existence of Saiyans. You are one, which means she is a Saiyan as well. I am Cayle Pota, son of Pota Potaset, son of Potaset Potaset, son of Potaset Pota, himself son of Pota Onio, himself the son of Onio Pota, the fourth born son of Pota the Proud.”
He then stepped forward to shake the man's hand, his own considerable power level not pushed into powering up. The ambient power level of the Saiyan, nearly six thousand without adding anything, was clearly expressed for their senses.

If Cayle already knew how to read the coordinates on earth, the next time she asked him to go anywhere specific, she was planning on just giving him the longitude and latitude directions, but he never expressed this fact; with the capsule corp cellular phone it was easy to punch in the coordinates and use the gps.
Koba was powering up because he felt that he needed to protect his daughter from a predator, more specifically a saiyan with a tail who just happened to be of the opposite sex, and the fact that his wife thought he was handsome meant he needed to get territorial of his home island before Cayle stepped out of line. While the saiyan exhibited manners, he did not trust a stranger so willingly, even if they were both experimented on by tuffles, it did not mean they are instantly allied being the same full blooded saiyan race.
Koba took Cayle’s extended hand by gripping his forearm, allowing him to do the same, rather than shake hands, and he held onto him this way as he tensed up his grip. “Mind telling me why you’re doing hanging around with my daughter? She is too young to elope with anyone and should be focusing on bettering herself with an education rather than be around inexperienced boys. How do I know you’re not here to take advantage of us and surrender us back to those vile Truffles? They managed a way to control saiyans like some kind of remote controlled vessel in their experiments, I have seen it with my own eyes when I was a child.”
Ty puffed one side of her cheek and breathed out totally being ignored by the both of them. The conversation they were having made no sense to her either. At this point even her mother dismissed the idea that anyone was going to pick up a fight. Whatever Ty’s fighting spirit level was comparatively meager. While her Father gripped arms with Cayle, she decided to look at her glowing hands, feeling that powering up for the first time allowed her to use more ki, after expending ki for dragon dashing to help teach Cayle to fly, she felt invigorated that she could restore energy this way.
Lily returned with a serving cart of refreshments, including a mountain of triangular stacked sandwiches which she made rather quickly in the time that she left, pouring a glass of freshly squeezed lemonade she handed everyone a glass in their hands which they took on instinct. “I read your note, does this mean you are not planning to attend university? Your uncle Toad Lily is going to be so disappointed that you will not be attending given that he is still aiming to be a doctor. What do you have planned instead? Your birthday is coming up soon, are you going to spend it with your boyfriend?”
“I just want to learn from experience, Mother. Learning everything from books makes me feel limited, I know I have the potential to become something great, but I have to go find it for myself. I don’t have a plan but I feel I am alright out in the world by myself or friends if I find them. I will make sure I take really good care of them so that they can keep an eye out for me.”Ty took a sip of the lemonade which was perfectly balance between salty and sweet, “I want to go to Pilaf land for my 17th birthday...and Cayle promised to take me there. Boyfriend? How is that different from a friend that is a boy?” “Well a boyfriend is more like a companion than a friend. It is someone you cherish solely, who you feel the strongest among all the boys you know, where you feel your heart flutter when you hold hands and kiss.” Lily laughed sweetly.
A blush overcame Ty as Cayle matched everything she listed, while she did not hold his hand, she did hug him, feeling something rather different compared to how she feels when her family hugged her. There was also the kiss which was an accident at first but he gave her an intentional one afterwards which meant he must have been interested in her enough to be in that type of relationship.
“I uh… kissed Cayle… twice already...but I don’t think that means he is my boyfriend. I have no reason to believe he wants that…” She seemed sad because it would have been better if her first kiss was with someone who actually wanted to be in a relationship with her.
“Awe… well break ups happen and other opportunities arise.” Lily explained. “You are still young and you have plenty of time to choose a boyfriend. At least this way you have experience to kiss someone knowingly. How cute.”
Koba overheard the conversation between his wife and daughter, tightening his grip even further, but before he could ask Cayle about what he happened directly, he was still expecting an answer to what he felt about Truffles; clearly the man had trouble being able to trust anyone by living on a secluded island with a single neighbor. With a glass of lemonade in hand, he drank it in one gulp, and dropped the glass on the sand to free his hand so he could proceed to choke Cayle to death for touching his sweet innocent Kuri pumpkin in the first place.

Cayle more than knew coordinates, he knew how to work them and put them into the GPS app of his ruggedly built, rather janky and somewhat old Robot brand cellular phone, which he had been gifted by Carlos Alfonso shortly after it became perfectly clear that Cayle was the leader of the thirty plus Saiyans which had saved Carlos Alfonso's trucks and warehouses on Allion Island. However he had neither reason nor method to tell Tiger Lily that, as that would be a conversation that evolved later. Instead, the Saiyan found himself narrowing his eyes at this man whom was Tiger Lily's father. At the accusations that the man insinuated towards Cayle, and at the insult that the man put forth by insinuating that Cayle was one of those collaborators with the Tuffles, who were resigned to their purported place in the world.
He would have stepped forward and thrown a punch at the man if it was not for the fact that part of him warned that Tiger Lily would not likely enjoy such a thing, and more importantly, Lily, the mother of Tiger Lily, brought them refreshments. It would be rude to start a fight when food was offered, so Cayle tucked into a few of the sandwiches and let the family talk to each other as he did. He was midsip when Tiger Lily's father tried to choke him, and the Saiyan would-be warlord simply sidestepped the movement, spinning on his heels out of the way without stopping his sip of the lemonade he was drinking.
When it was over, Cayle looked at this man who had hidden so much from his daughter, coddled her, done everything that a father should do- except made sure she could go forth in the world if he was lost. With his drink finished, the Saiyan former farm boy dropped his cup into the sand in a way that made it dip into the sand without tipping over, and then he slipped his orange jacket and black t-shirt off.
Instantly visible were hundreds if not thousands of little scars and burn marks on his back, sides, and chest. Little momentos from his time in the care of the Tuffle Science Executive.
“I was stolen by the Tuffles from my village at the age of nine years old, and spent nearly a decade in their custody, as did my siblings. I woke up on this alien world, with no one that I knew, and found only one of my childhood rivals from another village and a group of thirty odd people who aside from being also Saiyan and also former test subjects of the Tuffle Science Executive, were alien to me. So let me tell you. If you insult me, or what you know we pickles went through, then I will be forced to take up arms. You may be the father of a girl that I'd very much like to be friends with and who I feel...” he did not know the next word, a human might call it attraction, but he did not know such words. “towards. But you're right. If I didn't defend my honor, how could you expect me to defend her's? To protect her from threats or things which she might not understand? To prevent Tuffles from abducting her?”
As he said the words, passion quaked through his voice but no anger showed on his face. None the less, where his power level had been flat before, it was not quaking as he unconsciously powered up.
“So are you going to calm your attitude and take back your assumption about the Tuffles, or am I going to have to show you how much Saiyan pride I have by beating every centimeter of it upside your head?”[/b]

Everyone gasped at how ravaged the surface of Cayle’s upper body appeared, the scars of his wounds looked so deep, and it was something he suffered as a child no less; there were signs that some of his wounds may have been internal and that the rest of his lower body had been damaged. It was proof that the young saiyan was a survivor, something so devastatingly vile as inhumane experimentation, and yet he still managed to save his sense of pride to overcome it. Ty was the first to make the next move, upset at her father for pushing Cayle this far, revealing his most painful secret of his past.
“Father! You went too far, I know you might not believe me when I say this, but I trust him ever since I met him for the first time. Call it instinct or whatever but you have to give people a chance, if not him then at least take a chance on me, and that I am right about Cayle being a good person.” Ty pleaded, halfway getting emotional with her words with utmost conviction and with a trembling hand reached out to take her father’s hand tightly. It was clear that she never talked down or directly to her parents before because she honored them; speaking to Koba this way would have gotten her grounded for pretending to know something she knew nothing about.
Koba’s hard green eyed stare shifted down casually towards Ty and the intensity softened, he was very much aware that he did his best to protect his family. Hearing Cayle’s story and the fact that they escaped meant that they must have broken free from their captivity, fighting for their lives, and that there were thirty others. That alone gave him a sense of hope, placing a hand on Ty’s shoulder he simply nodded at her, and then ruffled her orange bangs as he held on to her hand as comfort.
“Were any of the thirty saiyans that escaped named Cha Cha Kalabasa? She is my twin sister that I lost to the Tuffles. I was also captured as a child along with her, put in some kind of sleep, and awakened as a child twenty eight years ago. It was a miracle really, the truffle bunker was buried under a new construction development to expand the beach boardwalk of South city when I was found. I was the only one, as it seemed something happened to force the other experiments to be salvaged, and I was left behind in cryo sleep. I was later adopted by an old couple at the age of five who owned this island. At the time I was able to do everything I could do now, one of which was the ability to fly, something I did not know how to do before I was taken away from home. I do not remember what torture I was put under which might have been a result of memory loss.” Koba sighed as recalling repressed memories, which were emotionally draining, that it was impossible to keep up a hardened saiyan attitude. Cha Cha was the only family member he failed to protect so his concern over Tiger Lily was a catalyst to what he was truly feeling.
Lily pouted, completely unaware that her husband had a twin sister, she knew about him from the South City papers, which her own parents saved the news article clipping written by a famous writer at the time by the name of Clark Kent. She drew near Cayle to pick up his orange jacket and black shirt to hand it over to him after carefully dusting it from sand.
“I think we all had enough excitement for the day, why don’t you get dressed, and I will show you around our humble house? We are making plans to construct two additional rooms.” Lily waited patiently for Cayle to get dressed, and then wrapped her arm around his to lure him into the home. While it might have been important for Koba to hear about Cha Cha, he was struggling to keep his composure, so this was a break from all the drama. With a sigh, she stopped in the middle of the living room, the interior walls were painted blue with the nautical decor, and brown leather sofas. There was a small kitchen to the left that led to another door outside, and a hallway across from the entrance. After a minute she continued arm and arm with Cayle down the dark hallway and turned towards the left where the door was open, the sun shining through the window, to a plainly white painted room that was about half the size of the living room. An entire wall was dedicated with books, the shelves were from the floor to the ceiling, the only other furniture was a white desk next to the window, and a single bed in the middle of the room with drawers on the bottom. The only indication that the room belonged to Tiger Lily was the Pilaf Doll holding a single star dragon ball that was made of orange translucent plastic. “Just wait here. I will be back.” A small laugh escaped, this woman was notoriously in a good mood, and if she was ever upset it would look terrifying on her gentle face.
After a couple of minutes there was some arguing outside which suddenly stopped and then Tiger Lily walked into her room with a sigh. If she dreaded coming along with Cayle, she really made matters worse by involving him with her family affairs, and without thinking she hugged him from behind. “I am sorry… I had no idea my father kept so many secrets or how he was going to react… You didn’t have to explain yourself like that… it looks so painful that the problem I had with you kissing me makes me feel so stupid, nothing compares to what the saiyans on earth have been through. Forgive me for being so selfish.”

The Saiyan former farm boy was silent, still tense and teeming with anger as the first back and forth went between Tiger Lily Kalabasa and her father, the son of Pota Potaset listening even as his blood pressure remained high and his pulse likewise remained accelerated, adrenaline begging him to fight the man who had insulted him in such a way, but Cayle stood his ground and listened, letting others talk.
“The thirty-six Saiyans which myself, Konja, and Jack rescued... hm... do I know of anyone with such a name.” the Saiyan said, trying to think on it and using that to pry his emotional state away from the moment and back into that situation, and that time. He thought of the thirty-six new faces which he had met in a span of less than twenty minutes, the thirty-six faces which he guided out of Mount Allion and down the mountainside, to the town of Pico y Gayo and guiding the volcano out to sea via an energy blast formed trench. He could not come to an answer, and yet he thought of it and felt that Koba and even more than him, Tiger Lily aka Kuri seemed familiar on the first times he had seen them. He didn't bother to mention there was a chance that Koba hadn't been experimented on at all, they spread out their awakening of captives extensively and tried to keep only a small number of Saiyans awake at the same time just to keep them from being able to rebel. He didn't bother to explain this, at the risk of alienating or offending the elder Saiyan but instead allowed the arrival of Tiger Lily's mother, Lily, to provide a stepping point off the conversation. “I will look into it when I arrive back at South City, where we're all staying at the moment, and then if I do find out that she is among our number, I will bring her back to you. Was there anything in the news or newspaper from the discovery of the bunker during the expansion of the boardwalk? Even if you don't know for a fact, if you think there might be I could research it at the Lie-briar-y. If there is it might provide an useful stepping point in finding more Tuffle bunkers and thus saving more of our fellow Saiyans.”
With that, he allowed Lily to lead him through the home of Tiger Lily's family, taking note of the Pilaf doll and the strange orange thing in his hand. What was that? The dark brown haired Saiyan wondered about it as he was told to wait there and suddenly found himself hugged by Tiger Lily. He allowed her to hug him but he was not sure how to react beyond that, listening to her words and then he spoke up. “There's nothing to forgive. Everyone deserves a little happiness in their lives, and if you were denied that how would your father feel? Any of us who had suffered at the hands of the Tuffles can only hope that our children are happy and safe. I can see why he got so mad... But hiding from them won't do anything, Tiger Lily. We have to get stronger, fight the war they started with us by saving our fellow Saiyans... I'm not saying you have to, but if someone who has the power that Koba exhibits is your father, then there's no limits to how strong you might be with proper training.” He shifted himself to remove her from hugging him, and instead lean for a purposeful kiss on her lips. She may not know it, but she had given him a gift of knowledge in multiple ways. Books could only teach you so much, that was true- but prior knowledge of others could also only teach you so much.
“What is that?” the Saiyan said, pointing at the dragon ball replica being held by the Pilaf doll, the dark brown haired Saiyan unconsciously digging out the shard of a dragon ball which he had found in Mount Allion.

The couple of times Ty left the kettle boiling while it whistled until the cover of the spout popped echoed in her mind the moment Cayle planted a kiss on her lips, to reassure her that despite a traumatic past the next generation was worthy of less suffering, and he wanted her to be happy. Ever since she left home she felt she kept making mistakes, while she learned from them immediately, it was starting to give her anxiety about correcting them all at once before it was too late. On top of it all, her feelings kept getting in the way, it was clouding her proper judgement, and she was being a bit clingy around Cayle than she was used to with anyone she just met. Perhaps it was lack of social skills and inexperience that kept her unguarded around him. More importantly she felt strongly for him due to his compassion to help others so willingly, which is something she wanted to do, and he was looking out for her in addition to other Saiyans to end their torment; which included her aunt who was lost among them. With the mention of training, she did feel that she had a lot of potential in utilizing her fighting spirit energy inside of her to become just as strong as her father, and if meant helping people then that is what she had to do. Prior from studying her final exam she did have the intention of becoming a public servant but studying had been so dull that she felt the need to explore the world first.
“You are right, what is the point of having all this inherent energy inside of me if I do not use it to change the world for the better by saving people? My father did not train me how to use it, I learned the skills by watching him all these years, from flying about to fighting pirates and sea Kings. I am going to train from now on.” Ty smiled feeling motivated for a change until Cayle looked over to the stuffed doll on the bed. It was a character from her favorite childhood book that her mother read.
Ty walked over to the wall of books and pulled out a large hardcover picture book titled, Emperor Pilaf and the Seven Dragon Balls, showing it to Cayle to look through. “It is about Emperor Pilaf, after he discovered the one star dragon ball he traveled the world looking for magical starred dragon balls, it turns out that he discovered seven in all along with the help of his friends. When the dragon balls were brought together and a secret phrase was spoken, a powerful dragon was summoned to grant any wish. After the wish is fulfilled the dragon balls disappear and appear again after a year to grant another wish for anyone who finds them all again. His wish was to be adored and the dragon granted it. All the children on earth love Emperor Pilaf of the magical kingdom. The theme park is dedicated to this storybook… it is one of my favorites when I was a child. Part of the reason I want to visit Pilaf Land for the first time for my birthday.”
She walked over to pick up the doll and smiled feeling excited for the shortcoming future thinking it would be best for Cayle to come along with her. “If you take me back to South City, I can save more zeni so we can both go to Pilaf Land together, I can stay with my uncle Toad Lily, and you can learn where he lives so you can visit me anytime.”
Lily appeared in the room behind them holding two small backpacks which she handed over to each of them with a knowing smile. “I smoothed things over with Koba for now. You should probably leave now because he refuses to allow Tiger Lily to go… he finds it difficult to trust anyone with his pumpkin after all. It was nice meeting you Cayle, I hope we get to see you soon with good news. When you go back into the city ask my younger brother Toad Lily for our parents memory book, he is currently taking residence in their penthouse apartment, our parents were ultimate fans of a famous news writer named Clark Kent, there is an article there about Koba when he was found at the boardwalk expansion.” She mused for a minute staring at them both knowingly, “You two remind me of my younger days… ah… I packed more sandwiches, soup, and a canister of water with other necessities for your safe trip back. Please be sure to send me a message when you arrive. Take care.”
Lily left to hold Koba back to buy them time to leave.
“Well we cannot take the boat again because it belongs to the neighbor.” Ty put on her black backpack, “Do you think you can fly us there if I piggy back?”
While she had her mother's approval she did hate having to run away from her over protective father who just needed to trust her more but there were millions of reasons the elder saiyan did not want his young daughter to leave.

The Saiyan was silent as she explained the story of this Emperor Pilaf, and the story of these orbs, these Dragon Balls, running his finger against the shard of the same color which he held. It made him wonder, was this just a strange colored stone or was it a fragment of those stones of storybook myth? The dark brown haired young man's brow furrowed for a moment as he focused on it, and after it was over he added it to his list of things to do. A shard of a wish granting orb could be a great tool to create a tool to help with the quest which he had given himself.
“If it is one of your favorites and dreams to visit Pilafland, then you shouldn't have to pay for it to visit it. I can pay for the tickets, I have Zeni stashed, I just use it in part to help feed the others... but some of them have recently gotten jobs, so that should be less of an issue soon so long as I keep working and bringing money in.”
Then the Saiyan took the bag that Lily handed him, giving a gentle nod and a polite “Thank you.” for the food and water before notating the information in his head about Toad Lily, the memory scrapbooks and the penthouse apartment which Toad Lily and apparently Tiger Lily would be staying in. After that, he exited the room and the house in the way that Lily and Tiger Lily gathered and put the backpack on his back before adjusting it to be on his chest and shoulders instead after having 'piggy back ride' explained to him by Tiger Lily.
It was not exactly a smooth ride back to South City, with just as Cayle was accidentally strangled for a second with the red headed half-Saiyaness's arms wrapped around his neck and her legs wrapped around his midsection as she clung to his back, but they made it back faster than they would have from just riding the speedboat or pushing it, because Cayle was getting better at the flight thing.
They did stop to take a break on a sandbar with a single palm tree upon it, taking their prepared lunch and food in at that time at an impromptu beach picnic of sorts. Then they were back to the city, and when they crossed the threshold of the land itself Cayle pulled out his 'Robot' brand phone and typed in the coordinates and address of the family's abode in the city, before flying Tiger Lily to the building. He let her down on the ground outside of the building to allow them to part ways for now there, asking for the apartment number and for her phone number if he needed to contact her but aside from that only asking for her to ask her uncle about the scrap book and look through it.
The next few days would be busy, and full of questions, but he put her birthday down in his phone's calendar, promising to himself that he would take her to Pilafland on her Birthday for a day of fun, as she had helped him so much and he felt she deserved it even without accounting for that.

Ty enjoyed the short time they spent together after leaving her home island and then realized Cayle was occupied with the task her father had asked. Even during their lunch break they spent in silence. At the doorstep of the apartment she kept smiling, but it was fake, she wanted to spend more time with him, and she could hardly find the words to tell him while they exchanged each other’s contact information. Before she knew it, he was gone, and it was painful to part ways. What she did not understand was that it was heartache, that she was suffering from, not being able to say how she felt, and trying to restrain herself from occupying all of his time. Ty cared so deeply for him that she was about to overflow and she forced herself to carry on with her day by retreating to her grandparents penthouse apartment.
Inside the home, Toad Lily was found buried in books, he spent most of his life studying, and was terrible at attempting to become a medical Doctor. He was around the same age Cayle, except all the life was out of his eyes, the dark circles under his eyes matched his hair color. While most people pushed themselves through medical school specializing in one type of anatomy Toad Lily was taking courses for all races so that he could turn the apartment into a private medical office but it was taking a toll on him.
“My sister texted me that you were coming...but that was an hour ago. How did you get here so fast?” He yawned.
“Flying.” Ty said quietly.
“You can fly now? That is amazing! It’s good that you came I always wanted to write a medical journal behind such a phenomenon.” He immediately grabbed a notepad and started to write something down but the ink was dry. “Blasted pen! Ah the computer.” He opened up his laptop and he hissed at the bright screen when it came on until he could open up a word document file.
“No… I was carried over here by Cayle… he is… well he… is gone. Sorry it happened so fast I did not get a chance to invite him in. My father tasked him with finding someone so maybe that is what he plans to do… I am not sure… I didn’t get to ask him… I think I am going to lay down it’s been a long day.” Ty was still smiling falsely as she retreated to her mother’s room that was still kept the way she left it when she married her father. In the short span of trying to resolve her feelings she developed a headache and was becoming lethargic from the pain. “....”

Cayle was silent, calculating, and thinking for much of the time that passed as they traveled, in part because he was trying to focus on controlling his newfound power and in part because he was still registering the numerous things he had found out about, chief of which was Tiger Lily and this alien feeling to him that he felt towards her. Simple affection was something that he was versed well enough in, but this felt more than that despite the short period of time that they had been around each other. He could not explain it and could not even put it to words to ask what it was, if he felt like asking her about the emotion. Perhaps possessiveness, perhaps lust, perhaps affection, was this what the Earthlings called love? He barely knew the girl, this fluttering of his heart at a rapid rate while they flew together, this willingness to not complain at the slight choking that she was inevitably causing as they flew, it was confusing for him and as such he parted ways with her to get a moment to think about things and to make a call back to Old Man Friddar and the others at the warehouse. Then he flew through the city, dodging power lines, phone cables, and running into an aerial drone at one point before finally coming to his destination.
He dropped in outside of the Taco King headquarters and primary warehouse and walked in, skipping past the greeting of the staff of the restaurant cum headquarters and heading to the back offices to find Carlos Alfonso and ask him an important question. When he found the walrus like man with tan skin and balding blonde hair, he grinned and shook his hand before getting right to the point.
“Carlos Alfonso, what is it when a human says love? I don't mean fraternal love, as I've already had that explained to me, but I mean the other way that humans mean it.” He went on to explain his symptoms almost clinically, as if he had some sort of virus, before the restaurateur stood up and slapped him against the shoulder.
“Aww, our little Caylito going soft over here, falling for some Earth girl. That's what it is, kid. You like her, maybe even love her. My question to you is... what exactly are you doing here then? Your average guy wouldn't have even consider leaving her side. Get back there if you like her so much that you had to do your stranger in a strange land act and come interrupt my important business.” he put his hand over the fact he solitaire was clearly on his screen and that was what he had been playing instead of doing any actual work.
“Okay, thanks for the help, Carlos Alfonso.” the Saiyan said to his guide to all things Earth, and then heading out of the office area and stopped, thinking to himself for a moment before stopping his departure to instead head to the back kitchen and put on his cook's jacket, apron, and hat. The Saiyan quickly began to help the crew knock out orders before telling the Sous Chef, who was the second in command for Carlos Alfonso, to have everyone help him make a series of dishes if he would. Fifteen minutes to twenty minutes later and Cayle was back in his normal street clothes gliding ten feet off the ground and carrying a shopping cart sized food delivery bag that was reinforced in multiple places. He flew back towards the Penthouse Apartment of the family of Tiger Lily, and then he landed, walking up to the call box and pressing in the numbers to their apartment.
When and if Toad Lily or Tiger Lily answered, the Saiyan had a plan to help make her feel better, and make a possible disastrous misstep less disastrous, with hope.

If there was a delay in response to the call box of the three story building, it was because Toad Lily was descending down the stairs, he had ordered pizza, and he thought it was around the right time for the delivery to arrive. At the sight of Cayle, he blinked his brown eyes a few times suspiciously, noticing the saiyan had a tail but then he looked at his head with no beastmen ears. Was this a new trend among them? Toad Lily stood there, rather scrawny, about the same height as Cayle, wearing a labcoat, and his hair was neon violet in the setting sun set. The dark circles under the medical student’s eyes were almost the same intense color of his hair that was wildly sticking out in several places like messed up spikes. The pizza droid appeared in a hover bike, it’s metal arms extended to reach inside a metal warmer, where the cardboard boxes were being kept, and handed it over to Toad Lily as it was already paid for by a recognizable loyal customer.
“Thank you for being our loyal customer, Toad Lily. Until next time.” The droid sped off to deliver more pizza.
“You know… I have heard of body modifications being a trend among the youth, but why did you choose to cut off your bestman ears? The ears are most effective than the tail, sorry to say that, but it is my medical opinion on the matter.” Toad Lily turned to leave back inside the apartment not even realizing that Cayle was actually a saiyan and that he was the one who called the box not the droid.
Tiger Lily woke up from her nap, feeling refreshed, and opened her window to look at the orange and purple sunset in the distance. At this point she blinked a few times detecting a familiar power level and looked down on the street to see that Cayle had returned. Without thinking twice she leaped out of the window from the third floor, using her ki to dash down, and landed next to him to give him a hug.
“You’re back. So soon! I…” Ty stopped herself from saying she missed him because that in itself sounded rather silly of her and she promised herself not to get so attached if she wanted their friendship to last. Releasing him she stepped back to stand next to her uncle, “This is Cayle Potaset, Uncle Toad Lily. The one who can fly around like my father.”
“What? Cayle is a person? I thought it was the name of some DynoCapsule vehicle.” He rubbed his eyes finding the intensity of outdoor sunlight affecting his vision, “Well there is pizza if you haven’t eaten yet. Come on in.”
A flight of stairs led to the third floor, by the looks of things, there were only three residences, and a service elevator which they avoided taking. The inside of the apartment was dark, with a single spotlight from a lamp on a desk that Tiger Lily used, the entire living room was covered in books, while there was an entire wall five times larger than Ty's bedroom at her home island, it was completely filled with books in the built in shelves, and to add more to the quatity were stacks of books piled everywhere. All of them were medical books for the races of the world, including some in bio machinery texts for cyborgs, and the sofas were covered in even more.
“Pardon the mess, I am reading everything that is presently here, and eventually will need to build an addition just for the books, so that I can use the space for my future patients.” Toad Lily explained while placing the box on an island counter in the kitchen to feed himself a single slice, he ate like a bird, and that was enough for dinner. “Feel free to eat the rest of the pizza, I am going to retire now, and if you’re staying we have a guest room, Tiger Lily can show it you. Behave now. Good night.”
“Um...what was my uncle telling you earlier? He is a bit of an eccentric, he is studying to be a doctor that specializes in all the races of the world, but I am starting to think he may have to stay in university a bit longer if he has not learned about saiyans yet. He has already been certified and licensed to practice on humans, beastfolk, and cyborgs. I think he is working on Namekians and Demons right now from what he told us last year during the winter holiday. I have not taken the chance to look through all his books to find one specifically on saiyans...and then there are also the Tuffles...too...” Ty’s words trailed off, realizing that maybe Tuffles were all bad people who were not worth studying for medical purposes. Rather than explain herself she hovered over to the pizza box and stuffed her face nervously; the melted cheese was hanging from the corner of her mouth as she chewed.

Cayle Pota, son of Pota Potaset, long in his line, was not exactly expecting that experience. If he was easily irritated, he would have likely fired off an energy blast at the Pizza Delivery Droid as it prepared to depart on its hoverbike, but he was not that kind of person. Vandalism and destruction of other people's property was something that did not appeal to him, and he had already learned that there would be people with irritating habits throughout his life.
Before Tiger Lily flew down and hugged him, the Saiyan former farm boy once again hit the buttons required to call the apartment's personal call box, only to have Tiger Lily show up on the ground floor from a drop out of her window and hug him. The Saiyan peasant turned would-be warrior considered putting his bag down, but instead was silent, listening to the conversation as it went on and taking note of it all without allowing himself to think one way or another- or allowing himself to think 'eccentric' was Earthling for 'Dropped on his head when he was an infant'.
The dark brown haired Saiyan followed Tiger Lily and her Uncle Toad Lily up the stairs without so much as beginning to breath hard, and when they were actually there he began to wonder about how nonchalant this human Uncle of Tiger Lily's was. Most would treat their niece as if it was their child, but Toad Lily seemed to be entirely untouched by parental guidance or supervision when a strange, foreign young man was present. One which he had previously criticized for his life choices.
“I brought food from my place of work, Taco King, which I made. Though if you are not hungry, Mister Toad Lily, that's fine. I'm sure between two Saiyans we could eat it all ourselves.” he mentioned after Tiger Lily's comment about her uncle's study, and then shrugged. “If the Tuffles could hide as much as they did in plain sight here on Earth, there might be entire other races which are not yet discovered.” which didn't even account for the numerous species of sentient humanoid monster which existed on Earth.
With that said though he simply went with Tiger Lily to the table and began to unload the food he had brought. Things from simple street style tacos to traditional hard shell or soft shell tacos, to enchiladas of multiple types, fajitas, burritos, tostadas, tortas, flat bread tacos, rice, beans, even a beef soup. Cayle had been hard at work learning to cook with Earth ingredients because it was something he would have to master if he wanted to survive on Earth and feed his family, friends, and people- and more than that he found the act of cooking with the many varied ingredients which Earthlings seemed to have quite enjoyable.
In addition, the Saiyan pulled out three large thermos containers of a cinnamon, rice, milk and spice drink called Horchata, and several bottles of the soda pops which were sold at Taco King. Then the Saiyan went out of his way to pull out the seat for the red headed young woman before sitting himself.
He could not bring himself to begin to eat, however, having expected her uncle to eat with them and be able to comment on Cayle's cooking to help break the ice, the Saiyan former farm boy sat there for a moment, knitting his fingers in front of him in a steeple, icy blue eyes staring at his hands with the intensity of a hunter preparing a shot. He did not say a word for a moment, before finally speaking up.
“Despite the fact that we have barely met each other, and I accidentally stole your first kiss,” he stopped speaking to turn and look at her directly. “I believe I actually like you, have a genuine attraction to you, may even love you, if what I've been told of Earth standards of that word are true.”
It was then that the Saiyan pulled out the Dragon Ball shard which he carried with him, sliding it over to her. “As a result, I'd like you to have this. Not as a birthday present, necessarily, but you could consider it that if you would not accept it otherwise. I believe it is a shard of a Dragon Ball.” While he had been considering the strength it could provide his people if he could figure out a way to turn it into an item or weaponize it, the Saiyan's cocksure confidence made him think that if he could find one he could find another. He had found that within the first thirty minutes which he had been awake and free on the Planet Earth, after all.
“I would also like to confirm the date you wish to go to Pilaf Land on, so that I can take you.”

Cayle’s saiyan pride was not made obvious to Ty as she stood by him closely, little did she know that he was a lot like her father in that sense, and she smiled expectantly at him as she enjoyed his company to the fullest. After they settled into a small dining room next to an even smaller kitchen, she helped herself to the food, finding it all to be delicious as her mother did not cook anything like this at all. With all the commotion she had the right appetite for it, she did not wait for Cayle to join her during her feasting, and then stopped to drink horchata which she also found delectable. It was pure bliss for a teenager to enjoy such high carbohydrates, no different from the sugar rush of candy which she also enjoyed, and she was nodding her head happily after being in a slightly bad mood earlier. Perhaps the saiyan did not know what it took to be a medical student at university and what Toad Lily had to sacrifice a lot of time management to learn everything for his degrees; which included power naps, minimal eating, and studying at odd hours of the night to absorb all the knowledge necessary to become certified in the practice. At thirteen years old he put himself through university at south city, he has been studying ever since, and has been quite dedicated in being the best even though it took a toll on his social abilities in the process. It was true that he could have been more of a parental figure to his niece but as long as he texted her mother what she was up to then he did not need to do more than to report this. It was more or less due to absent mindedness as he did not have time to help raise a teenager given that he was even younger than Ty when he claimed his independence. It took Tiger Lily a minute to process everything Cayle had to say after they settled in their shared dinner, the mention of how he might have felt about her was in line with what she thought her feelings were about their friendship, and she blushed after meeting his gaze. Her shoulders raised up and her head lowered a bit embarrassed that he confessed his feelings so blatantly, she did not know how to react, as there was very little to prepare her for anything like this. However, she did know the story on how her father proposed to her mother when they were Ty’s age and it involved a ring as a symbol of their love. The dragon shard, was something she had never seen before, it was elusive and beautiful, it resembled an orange glass piece and a fragment of a red star in the middle. It looked just like dragon ball on her Pilaf doll and her favorite story book. If she was faint at heart, she was starting to feel like she was, as her mind became a blank slate from the daringness of Cayle. “...are you sure...I can have this? It looks too precious to part with.” Ty managed to say, as she curled her lips a couple of times before she could speak again, “I feel the same about you… it is hard to explain because normally… between two people the relationship does not escalate this quickly… and even though I only know a fragment of what you have been through. I cannot stop thinking about you even if I wanted to… because I think about you every second I am apart from you, ever since we met. It was your aura that brought us together and now it is something else. Granted, I love my family who heartedly, this is something different, and I never felt this way about anyone before. Love is strange… if that is the case. I never thought this would happen to me… to us.” [665]
