“Will-san, I can agree with your motto except for playing well. When I fight against someone I give it my all. I do not have time for games when I am missing out on gains!” Melody shook her fist in the air while she lay back on the lounge chair, her sunglasses lowered as she did so, and brought them back on top of her head to look over at Will sitting in the middle of the three lounge chairs and Bass standing up to express his opinion of what it meant to be a fighter.
“An Army of one, I can dig that.” She chimed in after the namekian’s spiel which quickly changed in tone as he carried on, his antenna was shifting along with his countenance while recollecting something in between his words, and she interjected shortly after. “You need to calm down or else your emotions will run high and you will lose sight of the target. Just knock out this Kiryu the next time you see him to get over your hate. It will make you feel better afterwards and you can focus on what is really important to you.”
The wait staff immediately scrambled to fulfill the food orders, it seemed they were also filming and photographing Will for some strange reason or another. In that moment she ordered an icy mango fruit smoothie in a pineapple and scallop yakitori as she was enjoying all the seafood since she first arrived, finding it quite suitable to eat cuisine that matched the tropical weather.
Melody took a moment to blink her violet eyes while Bass felt the need to tower over her to explain his proposal with an air of confidence which she suspected was a result of his present occupation. Since she never finished a proper education, it was the council that took care of Truffle Village’s financial growth, and she only took part in increasing the population by building the houses herself to welcome new residents.
“What does accounting have to do with fighting exactly? Does it entail protecting assets?” Melody held a perplexed look about her face, “...I mean, we can discuss it directly with the village council as I do not handle the finances myself. I am not sure what our net worth is presently at.” She mused further in thought by rubbing her cheek with her index finger, “I did have in mind to take over the neighboring villages by challenging the present Dukes in a duel and defeating them in battle but still allow them to reside as lords if I am ever absent. With enough zeni I can begin building a strong hold to unite all three villages. I am thrilled on the concept if I could understand it a bit better, so you’re going to have to give me a bit more time to make such a huge decision, if that is alright with you? I can schedule an appointment, any time will do, I can have the council email me a copy of the finances, and whatever else you need.”
As soon as Melody finished the last word, the wait staff wasted no time to bring a tray with assorted almond based treats from biscotti, almond cookies, and almond milk in a bowl and a cup for Will on top the lounge chair he was in. Bass’ order was under a silver serving platter with a lid to keep the quesadillas piping hot, that was rolled in a serving cart nearby for him to go through, sour cream, red salsa, guacamole and pico de gallo was also served in case he wanted to douse any of it in those side dips. A separate serving cart was rolled by the Duchess’ side with the yakitori she ordered, the chefs even took it upon themselves to provide other proteins jammed onto bamboo skewers, along with a tiny saucers of sea salt, soy sauce, and yuzu ponzu sauce. It seemed that they were going above and beyond what the fighters had ordered which was quite impressive.
“I don’t...recall the last time I took a long break from training, this is actually really nice!”

Will could tell that there was something bothering Bass, he didn't need to feel his aura around him to know that. It seemed despite all of the power he had he was frustrated with himself that he wasn't able to fully best the creature, ironic, Will was a bit envious how this young Namekian was leagues stronger then he is now and as strong as he was years ago already. He also told Will to tell them about his life since he keeps reminiscing it like the old coot he is. Well perhaps now is the time for him to reveal the truth. "I am not your average old cat, I am actually the son of the Cat Sage himself, Korin. Someone you most likely know about Melody. Long ago I was about as strong as you, and at a time after that even stronger probably. Although it's not old age that has caused my strength to decrease. Well, I rather not say exactly what happened, I assure you have been biding my time trying to get back to the peak I once had, and then I met you," Will said. Will then looked a bit sad about what he has to say next. "Needless to say you were already leagues more powerful than me in the state I currently am, you managed to reach a level that took me years upon years of training and practice at such a young age. So I've been mostly getting by with my quick wits and all of the knowledge I have stored over the years. Although by the time I get as strong as you are now, you will probably have surpassed my old self by then nya ha ha. Many times you are forced to take a loss and learn humility if you failed and are still kicking you can do better the next time. Why quite recently I was jumped by a little red demon that was robbing me and he would've nearly killed me had I not literally gave him the clothes off my back," Will explained. He hoped that his words calmed down Bass somewhat or cheered him somehow. He didn't want him to be consumed by rage and hatred. There was some good in his heart but he also felt so much negativity corrupting. Fear leads to anger, anger leads to hate, hate leads to suffering. Bass shouldn't follow a path that many follow and die on. Even if it meant deprecating himself in the process. Bass then spoke up about Will's lactose problem. "Uh, more so people think that cats love to drink milk but it's actually not good for their stomachs. The same goes for me too, unfortunately, and if almond milk is not to your liking Melody I know plenty of places where you can grab some free coconuts on a few scattered islands here and there. I like to think that thanks to my dairy-free diet I have become quite healthier and helped my coat to be nice and smooth. Also if you're wondering about cheese, I think I remember reading some recipes about Vegan Cheese made from Coconut milk, I never had it cause I didn't have all of the ingredients at hand to make it exactly. Though I still think that's rather amusing that there is such thing as Coconut Cheese Nya ha ha," Will O. Wisp explained. Will couldn't help but enjoying himself talking with these two, perhaps it's his elderly self wanting to give the gift of gab to these two young ones. Or perhaps because they just went through a death-defying adventure together and are now relaxing on a cruise ship. Either way Will stopped talking for a bit to let Bass and Melody talk. The quesadillas cart came that Bass ordered and Will looked at Bass confused. "I thought Namekians only drank water or is it that you can survive only on water and you choose to eat now and again if you wanted to?" Will asked. Of course Bass didn't seem to be a normal Namekian, he already guessed that when first seeing him, but he didn't want him to know that cause perhaps he is keeping that side of him a secret so Will lets the salaryman be, in fact, it's hard to believe after all of that talk about getting stronger that he's a salaryman at all, but he shouldn't be one to judge. It was then it seemed they overheard his recommendation for almond milk and when deciding what to give him went a bit overboard. Will took the cup and bowl of almond milk and looked at the staff. "You wouldn't happen to have any salmon on the menu would you?" Will asked. "Uh, this is not a test, is it? Like the fact you're a cat, we're supposed to assume you like to eat fish," the lady asked. "I mean cats are carnivores and fish are meat. I also like fish and I would rather have something to eat first before I have these lovely sweets thank you," Will O. Wisp said with a smile. "Oh our apologies, would you like anything with your salmon?" the lady asked. "A shrimp cocktail would be fine thank you," Will said. They then come back with a freshly prepared lemon pepper salmon with cocktail shrimp next to Will. As he dips some shrimp into the sauce he gets some on his fur as he begins to lick it off. While he wishes he could enjoy the full cruise the world is in bad shape right now. Crazy boxers, dinosaur monsters, anthropomorphic animal activists, and thieving imps. He is not sure if he'll be able to be ready for what's to come next. Although he hopes that he'll be facing it alone, and perhaps next time, these two will be by his side again. He then lays back in his lounge chair as he looks up to the sky with his drink in hand.

Taking the food that had arrived while listening to the two of them speak to either him, each other or the great unknown, Bass turned up a little as he got to bite down on some ingredient packed quality Mexican cuisine. Not necessarily as good as the stuff that came from BIG BURRITO BONANZA near the docks in South City, but for catering on a ship it was pretty solid to say the least. Picking up the slices like one would a pizza albeit much more careful in how he went about it, Bass chomped down on the good stuff. It seemed to help his mood, after all good tasting food was half the battle in getting over agitation. He'd speak in between bites to Will to address his information on Namekians. " Namekians only do need to survive on water, yes. However our bodies can still process and utilize the nutrients found in conventional Earthling foods to fuel other things such as training, gaining muscle mass and things along the likes of that. I need proteins found in meat and carbs in other foods if I want to actually get stronger, since without a proper diet I'm already reaching the peak of how physically strong I can become. The Namekian Physiology helps me a little there, but point in case I only need to drink water, but I eat food for nutrients water won't provide that are optional." Taking another bite and thinking to himself, he decided to finally take a seat again and move the quesadilla over a little to his side. Staring up into the once again blue hued sky, he addressed his anger after processing the bite he'd just taken. " There is no universal standard to the repercussions of emotion. I get angry often, but my anger is what fuels me to work harder, train more. If it leads to productivity there is nothing wrong with it. Though one thing I will make a point to clear up is that my anger has nothing to do with Kiryu in particular. While he is annoying, I guarantee I could take him on in a single match-up. It is two recent encounters I've had that puts my incapability into perspective. This one, and one a while back with some ominous figure deep underground. I'd almost be tempted to pry at what target and what important thing you think I'm aiming towards. I prefer to correct assumptions of my person before it becomes a problem." He'd say, once more finishing another quesadilla in six or so bites, the slices basically equating to a single bite each. Pinching the bridge of his nose for a moment in thought, he clarified his prior offer. " Accounting has nothing to do with Fighting. If people assume I took this job because it has some secret recipe for martial success, they'll be disappointed. I took up this work because sales is an incredibly easy line of work to get into with their turnover rate and terrible working conditions. Thankfully at the time I had just barely turned over a leaf from when I ransacked villages in the Northern Lands for King Piccolo, and the work conditions I was familiar with were ten times worse than that. I just took up that work to get a place to live and pay bills. Though Zeni has a lot to do with fighting. Having the budget for quality food for the optimal diet, the optimal training environment and the tools needed to best exploit your abilities to reach even higher levels. It's a mean to an end. Contrary to assumptions I'm not even an accountant. Everybody when they hear Momentum Financial thinks accounting." Bass said, eyes narrowing as he started to clarify on a process gone long misunderstood by multiple people, gesturing with both hands he spoke. " Momentum Financial has developed a middle income accessible software to manage any given business that uses it's financial needs. Their expenses and their income, it does it all automatically. I myself I am not an accountant, while I know that job in and out I just sell software accountants, does that make sense?" He said, cramming another quesadilla slice in his face to avoid getting even more heated about that concept that nobody ever seemed to get in his experience. " I have no care for you or your villages 'net worth'. Nor is there a need for a financial discussion. This is a matter of character and a good businessman looks at potential as opposed to the past. Some of the most ambitious and successful corporations in the world are those that took risks in people they knew would do well in the company. To spell it out, Momentum Financial, the accounting software and all that should I get my way with corporate come my next couple of moves will be completely revamped. Gone will be our previous practice and in its place will be an expanding umbrella of different markets and services, inclusive of full in-house authorized training grounds to nurture a force of elite fighters that I personally want to oversee to ensure that if Earth is ever in danger by internal or external forces, we're overkill." Letting out a sigh and tilting his head slightly to the side, he carried on. " With that being said, you're welcome to take your time. Though keep in mind I can't afford to wait, if somethings comes up and we need to move on and you've yet to make a decision, we will. Hesitation only equates to missed opportunities. In fact, if I was being incredibly hard on myself sitting here right now could be time I've spent getting stronger. For all the times I've sat down and relaxed, I could be twice as strong as I am now easily." Then looking over towards Will, with another crunchy bite of the cheesy goodness of the third to last quesadilla the Namekian started to speak to him. " I would expect no less of myself. I want to be many times stronger than my closest competitor, and I don't want to know how close they are, otherwise I'd be tempted to ride the wave and just do enough. I want to blow them out of the water." He then rolled his eyes and almost growled when he recalled Will talking about Vegan Cheese, going through the motions of what he had shared mentally as he addressed the applicable points. "Vegan Cheese... That's like two week rotten poutine, hopefully I never actually see it in my lifetime."

After Will revealed the truth of his past, Melody had a blank stare, while it was true that she knew of all the legends of the generations of warriors past, the people who actually followed their footsteps neglected the world for what it was. She could not blame Will personally for not taking the responsibility to preserve the peace in the Pig Demon Duchies, perhaps he would have saved her and all the children who were being oppressed in their villages during his one hundred year slumber. Perhaps the wise old cat was observant with those slant like eyes to tell that her lack of excitement meant there was something ominous about the revelation.
In the end, she did not care for history at all, legends die and she made the most of her time to do something about the problem society presently has. Ever since childhood she despised everything and everyone during a brink of death at a mere five years old; it took her a long time to come to terms with reality finding solace in fighting. Of course she never took the time to tell anyone, Glacier was the type to forget their first meeting given his old age, and life was never simple enough to tell people what she had been through. At the same time she knew nothing of Bass’ past and found that they were easily relatable to each other based on how easily he was prone to anger just as she tended to be a couple of years back; just a finger flick to the forehead away as a distraction from getting accustomed to the nature of being overwhelmed with negative feelings. The world was horrible place twenty years ago and it needed to be changed but it was taking a while to get up to speed without getting an edge in their individual efforts.
The explanation Bass gave about the company’s future was still ambiguous, she wanted to know what was in it for her, and he put emphasis on missed opportunities only come around once. Melody was not the type to make major decisions without thinking twice, in fact she was going to try her luck in all of this, and smiled.
“Well given that we crossed paths twice already and this is the first time you mentioned your proposal for Momentum Financial, I have a hunch that I will see you again...and again as long as I am around the island. So, maybe opportunities do come around a couple of times if it is meant to be.” She half chuckled, “I do want to be stronger and ready for whatever comes in earth’s way, I am not spending my entire existence just standing by idly, there is no hesitation there, Bass-kun.”
Melody looked over to Will a bit concerned of his dieting habits but he decided to indulge in a salmon steak and shrimp cocktail to warm up to the luxury cruise ship had to offer as thanks for their efforts. She drank her mango slush smoothie through a paper straw out of a pineapple finding that she was not into sweets as much as she thought and added hot sauce to give it a kick.
“Coconut water and coconut meat is perfectly fine in its natural state. I do not see the point in making cheese ...you must be joking but it is not even funny.”
The day carried on discussing food, it was the second time she heard that Namekians only needed water to live, a third with Bass’ confirmation and can only wonder what life would be like missing out on all the amazing flavors cuisine around the world had to offer. It was nightfall by the time they ordered their fill and the Captain had no intention of having anyone leave so soon but the matter of the sharks was still present so they all parted ways to look for the rumored creature.
Days passed without any clues about the kaiju.
