As the foe slowly approached, the wicked witch felt trapped. Her legs wouldn’t move. There was no room to dodge. His words left a nasty echo in her mind. They stirred dark thoughts, the fear of the unknown. No... He had to mean torture, right? And not something even worse... She could only try to guard her face and close her eyes... A heavy thump heralded the incoming beatdown. Bricks cracked beneath the merciless impacts. However miraculously none of the hits landed. Or rather... They purposefully missed...
Lilith opened her eyes to find the brute still looming over her. She gripped her arm, trying to stop it from trembling. “I do not fear death or torture...” Finally, her defiant glare crumbled. She cast it towards the ground with a defeated sigh. “...but I would rather not suffer either.” With the focus she had gathered, she muttered a soft incantation. “By my will thou hast been made, by my will thou must fade... Dispel...” White wisps of magic rose from the frozen statues. One after another, they thawed as the curse was lifted. They fell over, cold and quivering, but ultimately fine. Likewise, the final enchantment on the caster’s robes faded away. Her wand lost its arcane spark, returning to being a mere metal stick.
It was finally over.
The little witch refused to make eye-contact with the Saiyan. She still considered herself better than him, if not by power then by birthright. “The spell is undone... Do what you will...” Her tone was still icy despite the threatening situation. She was trapped, she knew that. Even if he, by some miracle, didn't act on his cruel impulses, the villagers would surely bring out their torches and pitchforks. And yet... A lady did not show weakness in front of peasants.
