Nal listened. On one hand, there was a bird, but like the man said, it would taste bad - so it probably wasn't even worth eating at all. Boring. The bird was no longer looked at by Nal, much to the creature's probable delight. On the other, there was talk about homes and about making them. There were easier ways than punching a hole in the mountain? Probably. "I heard of people making houses out of clay. That is easier, but clay houses break easier than those in rocks, no? Though if you all know a better way of making one, I will listen. I never had a house or thought about having one."
And she walked onwards, until suddenly, there was a wall. And then a voice. Squinting, the majin looked around, to see - mountains and more mountains. And of course, a stone wall on the way. She walked over towards it, knocking at the thing and putting one of the ear-holes to the rock, listening to the sound it made... yep, that was solid rock. Thick, too. Probably a test! "Well we could punch through. Or climb it." - she said, then put a hand on the rock, pulled it back - and struck. The rock seemed to not be all that giving, so she struck harder. And then harder, and then even harder than that. Frowning. "It will take a while that way... but if you guys keep hitting, I can heal our fists when they hurt." And pointing towards the wild-haired man of the party, the majin grinned. "I know your fists are hard and hurt a lot so you should be able to crack a rock with them, yes?"
And with the ingenuous plan formed, the gray gal began to punch the wall time and time again. Listening to what the other say, but decided to start working already - if they find a better plan, she'll at least have a warm up!

The former samurai warlord considered this situation and considered the many battles which he and his clan had fought in the times past. He thought instantly of scaling castle walls and almost absentmindedly thought to himself, speaking aloud. “Do either of you happen to have rope by any chance?”
He had been silent on the discussion of eating an ostrich, which was indeed good eating, but only properly kept chicken ostriches. Free Range was too gamey, in his experience, though he regularly ate wild game, this was someone's steed, not a foodstuff. The slate grey eyed half-saiyan was silent as the others thought of possible solutions, including punching through the wall, and he just silently thought to himself some more.
“This isn't that different from scaling a castle wall, really. So all we have to do is concentrate spiritual energy around our feet or hands and feet. Make a running jump at the sheer mountain face and begin running up it when your fit hit. The spiritual energy on your feet should help provide some level of grip as you run and if you start to lose your grip, use a spiritual enegy powered punch to smash into the cliff face and provide yourself a hand hold. Then punch and kick your way to the top. If we have a rope somewhere, or something that can pass for a rope, then we can expedite it by running up like that and then pulling up the others with the rope.”
Without waiting for any confirmation or questions from the other three, Koma walked back down the path by about half a mile and then began running at his full pace towards the mountain's sheer cliff face. When he got to about three feet from the cliff face he launched himself in a monkey like jump and flew skywards, moving at least sixty feet up the mountain's face before spinning to catch his feet on the cliff face itself and beginning to run once again as far as he could. Spiritual energy crackled at his feet, as he ran up the mountain face he did not stop or slow until he was nearly at the top. He did not bother to look back to the others, either.
Instead, the half-Saiyan just kept running, shouting behind himself without turning his head. “See? It's that simple!” If they watched, they could see that in some places the sheer cliff face had been indented by the force of his feet pressing against them with spiritual energy crackling at his feet.

Cade let out a low whistle of appreciation as he watched the man use ki to run up the rock face. He looked to Nal and said, "That's somethin' you don;t see every day, huh? I never even thought of using ki like that. Learn new things about every day since I set out from home. Guess I'm gonna give her a rip too!" He grinned in excitement at the prospect as he turned and walked Boko over to a jutting rock, "Guess you're going to have to chill out here Boko my lass. I'll be back for ya soon. I hope." He secured Boko's lead but left her a bit of room to move about and spread some food on the ground for her so she could eat if she took it in her mind to. He gave her one last scratch behind her ears and a fond pat before he left her there.
He turned back to the looming wall and took a deep breath, "All right, time to let 'er rip, tater chips!" He started sprinting towards the wall, pooling ki into his feet as he neared it. He hit the wall at top speed and started running up the side, his feet sticking pretty well to the wall even if his steps were too light to crack the stone like the fella he followed. He shot up the wall and briefly paused at the top to catch his balance before he began running down the other side. He quickly realized that he had a bit of a problem as he started zooming down the other side. His feet were sticking ok.. but he was moving way to quick towards the ground. Oh crap... going to fast... What can I do here? He kept picking up speed as he ran down the wall when finally about halfway down he got an idea Maybe if I can time a flicker right... That might work. At about 10 feet down he jumped out from the wall and positioned his feet towards the ground and reached into himself and... flickered down to the ground. He grunted with a bit of pain and staggered as he had not been able to alleviate all of the momentum. Still he was on the other side in one piece and he reckoned that was what mattered. He turned back to see if the Nal would be able to follow.

The majin turned away from punching the wall, witnessing the two just... focus energy and run up the wall. She observed that, studying curiously what they do. Well, if the two managed, she probably could too! She was as strong as them, at least, so it was probably doable. Unless it was like her healing powers or something.
Deciding to walk up to the ostrich, Nal looked up at the bird for a long, awkward while. "You're lucky you're not edible. Blech." - the girl said, before turning and sprinting at the wall, focusing energy as she did. Noting that a few steps before even meeting the wall, the gray girl basically stepped on thin air! This made her blink, look under her feet and slam face-first into the wall she got distracted away from. Staggering back and grumbling, Nal made a take two - after shaking her head to focus some more, she began running again. In the air... then up the wall... energy focus was rather easy for her, even though it wasn't what she was the best at. But, soon enough, she leapt over the top of the wall and gripped it on the other side - hanging off of it, before letting go. With a hand and both feet on the surface, she began sliding down - before making a show-offy jump right at the end, hopping over the two people and landing on a sandhill!
...and immediately yelping in surprise and balancing, as on the other end, the dune suddenly ended in a deep chasm. The gray majin went even more pale than before, quickly staggering back and dropping onto the sand butt-first. She stared at the chasm - spotting a single coil of rope attached on both ends of the crevasse. It was barely wide enough for someone to keep a foot on it.
Nal gulped. Tough as majins were, she didn't really look forward to falling from that high up.

The huge chasm on the other side of the wall was surprising to the Samurai, but not so surprising that he lost his cool. He shouted to the others, “Do you guys happen to know how to fly, by any chance?” He remarked, before thinking about it.
“If not, we could always try to jump the chasm by simply throwing each other, but then one of us would have to stay behind... hm.”
The Half-Saiyan Samurai thought about it severely for a few moments and then shrugged. He had no plans at the beginning of the day to hunt for the Fist of the South Star, but if he could get stronger and use that strength to help get revenge for his fellow members of the Bear Clan and put the fear of the gods into Kuma for his betrayal of them, of him in particular, then that would be something worth striving for.
If he couldn't? He was starting to get tired of running away from his problems. If he died trying to leap across the chasm to the other cliff side? Then he died. He had never shown fear in battle so he had no intention to show fear now. He ran back to the edge of the wall, before rushing forward on the dune and leaping as he came to the end of it, leaping with all of his might.
It was a barely there thing, but he made it, catching the other cliff side and pulling himself up. He then tried to prepare to catch the others as they leaped, if they leaped.

Cade's stomach tried to wrap around his spine as he looked down at the chasm. He didn't have much of a head for heights like this normally and the fear had come rushin back to him as he gawped down at the ground so far below. He shook himself and turned from the edge of the chasm, pacing off 20 large steps, pausing, and then pacing off 5 more. He eyed the gap a little more calmly now that he couldn't see the drop; he was pretty sure he could make the jump. An idea popped in his head and he nodded to himself, a little insurance never hurt nobody. He called out to Nal, "Heads up, Nal, I'm gonna jump!"
He sprinted forth pushing himself as hard as he could. His heart started to beat madly in his chest as fear and excitement warred for supremacy. He reached the edge and leaped out into the void. As he did he pushed his arms back and shot two controlled ki blasts behind him, propelling him forward just a little bit more. He almost made it all the way over, he came down at waist height and hit with a massive exhalation of breath... but he folded himself over the top and swung his legs over, panting as he tried to recover his breath. He sat up after a moment and called out, "If'n you don;t think you can make it over, Nal, just grab the end of the rope and cut it and swing over. We'll pull you up."

The two just... jumped over. Nal looked at them, at the rope, at the chasm, at them again, gulped and nodded. She took a step back, then focused hard - and took a sprint. She ran and focused ki in her feet, like she did before while walking up the wall... taking a step in the air, then another, another... basically, running up above the chasm, like a cartoon character that hadn't yet realised that gravity applies to them after running off a cliff. And then, when the majin felt her focus slipping, she made one last desperate leap, reaching out to the other two that offered to help her land. It wasn't far enough. She would be, as it soon became obvious, just a little too far away to catch them. Fortunately, Nal was also a majin and her hands became longer, grasping those of the other two, being pulled up. The majin didn't say much after that, just shuddering and walking on, deciding that there is a reward to be had after this. And she did reward herself - with that special, dragon ball-shaped candy she had. After a dangerous experience like this, it was only fair. And on she wandered, alongside the other two, in their journey to endure the trials of the South Star. And the trials were many. First the wall, then the chasm. Then, there was a field full of cacti to wade through, trying to survive all of the needles pricking them. There was a collapsed tunnel that needed clearing. There was another collapsed bridge, with a pile of wooden boards and tools to fix it. There was a roaring stream that needed to be crossed via rocks barely visible under the raging current. Finally, there was a prowling ground where the mountain lions gathered, that had to be crossed. And behind that, the battered heroes had met their reward, the culmination of their adventure. A wooden sign with four words written on it. "YOU ARE ALREADY TRAINED."
Nal just... stood there, staring at the board. Dumbfounded.
