Little did Echo understand his lineage descending from a half demon saiyan, even at a mere age of two his personal growth reflected his outward appearance, instead of the typical ten year old, he was a teenager with a tremendous power level signature; everyone in the western lands who held rank did not suppress their power level, it kept people at bay, demons in the dark forests of Baba Yaga, as well at the namekian horde in the north from getting close to this nearly lawless land that followed an honor system. The birthmark on his face was the result of his connection to Duchess Melody Bossa Nova being severed by the Grand Princess Juniper, since he had nearly drained her ki before he was even born into the world, as the eldest twin he was left alone to his own devices.
The Bassic Security Bureau has been known to patrol the streets of Oolong City, even in Little Vegeta where people who called themselves Saiyans ran amok among the yakuza did not cross their path in the line of duty, and for the most difficult jobs bounties were posted in the office as well as other miscellaneous jobs. The strawberry blonde teen climbed the steps in his woven zori sandals made from spirit tree fibers, he was wearing the green hexagonal clan colors of the Bossa Nova clan, as the heir apparent.
As he opened the door, his violet eyes sensed a recognizable ki signature, and another near Korrin’s tower that he was unfamiliar with. For some reason or another they were both heading this direction which is what caught his attention initially. However, the samurai was not remotely alarmed, he doubted anyone would be foolish enough to raid this building in his presence. In the lobby there was an entire wall of corkboard, with several printed postings, bounties with an obscure illustration of a wanted person or in rare cases a mug shot or blurry CCTV freeze frame footage of the perpetrator. A few of the BSB agents were tearing down completed bounties and jobs constantly, replacing them with new ones; it only proved how effective they were at handling the crime syndicates.
What really caught the interest of the samurai was the paper that had aged to a yellow hue, with red ink sprawled across the zeni amount repeatedly, increasing the award the longer it took to locate the bounty, as he stood there he chose the oldest one. An infestation of oversized cicada monsters had been terrorizing local farmlands in the outskirts of the city, while their numbers have been diminished over time, a lair has been suspected to exist with the passing of seasons to increase their numbers. It has been a nuisance for quite some time, since not only crops were affected, livestock, and humanoids have also been consumed by these foul creatures.
The malice of earthlings over the years has been endless, any creature that felt superior to their rule of the world was subjected to death, and this was exactly what Echo was looking for in order to hone his skills as a swordsman.

Coming down from his training up on the tower. Will O. Wisp was told about danger going on the surface. Involves strange insects that consume everything in their path. Concerned that the Sacred Land and all who live in it are in danger. Will was sent to help solve this problem as a part of his training. Climbing back down the tower with his own two paws before making his way toward a building called the Bassic Security Bureau, a name which gives him a hint to who in particular this building was owned by, to accept the job. He walks into the building weaving past all of the busy people going back and forth. Dodging the footsteps so that he isn't trampled or even worse his tail stepped on. As he floats to view the bounty board to see the mission poster. And then turns his head over to see Echo staring at the same one. "Hello there, I am Will O. Wisp, just an old Martial Artist passing by. You certainly seem like a capable person and you have a calm crystal clear aura. Are you interested in the same bounty right here as well?" Will said. Even while suppressed, due to their frequent meetings, Will was able to turn his head and recognize the aura of Bass nearby. He smirks and does his iconic cat-like laugh. "It seems someone I know quite well is coming along too, don't worry he's friendly and he will be a great help to take care of those monsters. Strength in numbers as they say," Will said. Before registering he decided to wait for Bass and anyone else who would come to arrive by putting his staff on the ground straight up and balancing on it with one claw on his left paw foot practicing his perfect equilibrium.

Deep in the recesses of the Bassic Security Bureau, lay a particular office that was nothing like the usual decor the Blue Namekian employed.
Rather bland at first glance, the character was injected into it given the build-up of various baubles and more importantly, personally taken bounties. A window was on one side looking out onto the streets of Oolong City, whereas on the other side was a cork board that served to trace links on particularly complicated cases. He'd played the part of detective before in these parts, getting schooled by his own employees in the beginning to learn the ropes. Yet while he was a master at some things, he understood he was a student in others. Humbly, he learned and evolved, picked up the tricks of the trade and since then had led a handful of successful high profile investigations.
Sat upon his puffy leather chair with his feet kicked up on the desk in a "Noir" style trenchcoat and fedora (with holes for his antennae), the Namekian had the Oolong City Paper in his hands. Skimming through it, the products of various successful cases could be gleamed in addition to the more noticeably feats of various criminals. Letting out a yawn and tilting his head backwards, he stared towards the ceiling. The light needed to be replaced, and just as he was about to get up and handle it himself there was a pause.
One of his antenna's wiggled. A familiar ki signature was getting closer from the white noise of the masses of low power-levels that were the citizens of the city. Not long after that, one he was even more familiar with. Letting out a huff, he tossed aside a clipboard and started to move to make some arrangements.
Admittedly he was a bit excited to see what familiar faces had been up to. Choosing the stairs, he half-trotted downwards taking his sweet time in favor of not causing any unintended damage. Reaching the bottom floor he swung open the door to the stairwell not too far from the secretaries booth. Leaning around the corner, he overheard the tail end of what Will was saying. Stepping out and raising an arm in greeting, he approached.
"Strength in numbers is right. My people here are the best of the best, but there are lines even the majority of them won't cross. Gigantic bugs being one of them. Thankfully, I have some history dealing with oversized insects. It isn't so bad now, but give it half a year and you'll have them causing havoc through the streets. Better to nip it in the bud."
Moving up towards the sheet pinned to the cork board, he paid a glance towards a couple of detectives that were watching in anticipation albeit trying to be discrete. Two fingers gripped the edge of the page, and with a light tug the bounty was removed. It was in their hands now, and the prospect of it being over caused the momentary spectators to sigh in relief before heading back to their day.
"I'd recommend ear protection, our lockers can supply those. Cicadas are already loud, have them be as large as a van or a truck? Yeah, you can see why they're on the board. And yeah, right, hi."

The unknown power signature was in the building, from the crowd of BSB agents emerged a white feline, it made sense that it belonged to a beastman, they were notorious for being formidable in the western lands in both power and rank. However, this was someone he was still unfamiliar with among the Pig Demon Duchies, so this old martial artist must have been from elsewhere.
“My name is Echo, by rank I am a Prince to Bossa Nova Clan of Samurai. What martial arts school do you hail from?” Echo immediately asked, then averted his gaze towards the bounty and nodded his head in agreement with a calm demeanor.
The strawberry blonde teen straightened up, the last time he had seen Bass in the northern lands, he was in his usual child form, his own demonic blood changed his physical appearance dramatically whenever he was in Oolong City to keep up appearances of his clan. The minute he exhausted his reserves of ki he would revert back, fortunately the bounty at hand was far from the city, so he had to entrust everyone involved with knowing everything about himself. Once the three of them were in the lobby, Echo noticed the trench coat and fedora Bass wore, a very convincing detective based on the few manga that he read at home, and offered a simple hand wave gesture with two fingers pressed together.
“Are you talking about those mutated Namekians at the northern border?” Echo wondered, Bass turned those creatures into paste, but the insects they were about to deal with were formidable with the advantage of sound that would damage the hearing of any humanoid at the highest decibel.
The way the blue namekian handled the sheet of paper made Echo wince his violet eyes. Was it possible to be so strong that such a simple task could destroy the entire building if he was careless? The samurai sighed at such unimaginable power affecting mundane daily tasks, he dared to be just as strong to lessen the burden of his own family, and take out King Piccolo himself someday. Even still, it seemed that the biggest threat on earth was still out of reach by being surrounded by his horde; so the oversized cicadas will have to do.
“A noise canceling device? I have never seen one before.” Echo admitted, out here the only technology that existed remained in the city, even then people in the western lands lived the same way they did hundreds of years before electricity, following the traditions set forth by the Duchies. In truth, Echo was subjected to the traditional methods of samurai training, he took a single step forward, expecting Bass to show them where the lockers were located in the building. It was apparent that Bass may have researched a thing or two about what they were set out to find.
“All I know about these insects is that they are edible to humanoids so perhaps they can be preserved to decrease the famine among the children in Little Vegeta.”
Those children were saiyans, abandoned on the streets, and left to fend for themselves as delinquents stealing to survive. [528] [1,045] This is a personal saga disguised as a mission for stronghold gains.

"Ah so you're of the Pig Demon Duchies? I know quite a few members among them. Have you heard of Duchess Melody of Truffle Village? I haven't talked with her in quite some time so I am curious to know how she is doing." Will said. And as he turned his attention turned Bass who agreed with his sentiments as he nodded in agreement before he slowly descended from the top of his staff and he grabbed it from where it stood. Noticing the different attire he is wearing as he rubs the fur on his chin while listening to Bass and Echo talk. Luckily Bass mentioned a good idea to bring protection for their ears. With their hypersensitive hearing, giant cicada monster cries would be murder on their eardrums. Hopefully, the lockers have a pair of headphones especially made for Beastmen. He then looked at Echo who mentioned that the cicada is edible, he has never heard of anything like that or anyone that would but in times of desperation even a giant insect would be a delicacy. Though he recognizes Echo's heart is certainly in the right place. "Very noble of you to think of such a solution for the less fortunate. We could help a lot more people this way. Let's just make sure not to go overboard on these giant bugs and completely vaporize them. Especially you Bass," Will said. He then walks over to the lockers Bass mentioned earlier. Floating up so he could be able to reach the handle to open them. And begins searching through them. Until he finally finds a pair of noise-canceling headphones made to fit cat ears. As puts them in his ears to try them out he finds that everything has gone almost completely silent. He can still hear some noise going on around him it just seems a lot more subdued than usual. He then puts them off and begins inspecting them trying to find a manufacturer's mark or logo to determine who made this. "I need to buy a pair of these for myself to bring home with me. Would definitely help when those seagulls start flying overhead my island house and start chirping up a storm." Will said. He then turned towards Bass and Echo. "If we're all going to be wearing these, or at least me and Bass, we might need to use hand signals or sign language to be able to relay strategies to each other. Since we might not be able to hear each other clearly when talking to be able to relay strategies." Will suggested.

"No, that won't be necessary." Said the Blue Namekian after he leaded the two of them to the lockers. Seeing as Will saw to his own pair, he opened another and took out a pair to hold back towards Echo. Finally he'd open a third locker, reaching into the top shelf to get his own pair. However he failed to put them on, walking over towards a receptionists desk. Strumming several fingers on the counter, he'd speak towards a quartermaster of a sorts. "Signing out three headsets, going to need some earpieces to go with." He added, pulling a form over where he'd jot down the names of those who had taken out the items. Bass, Will'O'Wisp and Echo. On top of that, the earpieces that were slid over received further documentation. Turning then once receiving the devices to the other two, he held out one in either hand. "These come from our facility in the Southern Islands, you might find the headsets somewhere else in Oolong City, but the earpieces are a different story." Taking his own and holding it out for both to see he'd add some instructions. "You're going to want to hold down the central button here until it glows green. Then, we'll be on channel three. The way you get to channel three is here-" He said, finger sliding over to a button built into the edge of the earpiece, one of three and the lowest of them all. Tapping it a purple glow came from the button. "That will bypass the difficulty of having to communicate like primates, my deepest respect to orangutans and baboons and monkeys and whatever."
Starting to move then towards the exit of the building after hooking it over his ear, he glanced back towards the two incase there was any difficulty. "These loop around the back of the ear." He said, looking towards Will. "Or... There's a padded clip that you can attach to the edge of one."Pushing out to the streets of Oolong City, he took a few trotting steps down to street level. Speaking, despite the usage of the headphones their voices were crisp. The only downside being it came only from a single ear and therefore made the source of the voice difficult to locate, but it was better than hand signs. Turning towards Will and Echo, exchanging a glance between the two he'd speak up. "Either of you two unable to fly? This should be pretty straightforward. Fly to the farm, lay down a little fast acting pesticide and..." He glanced towards Echo, "Relocate the remains to... Well, I'll let you think on where it should all go. I don't run a humanitarian effort directly, so I'm not too informed on where best food like this could go." He admitted with a light shrug, his feet starting to lift off of the ground a couple feet. "And oh- right, no. Not those Namekians. Was a little incident in the Central Lands that I patched up. Jumbo Spiders, bees, whatever you'd find in a farmers field just about."513 | 1,063 Echo Will O. It seemed the cat must have been rather old, considering his hearing was selective, when he dismissed the question of which martial arts school he belonged to. Instead he asked about his mother, which left him perplexed, the strawberry blonde teen reflected for a moment of the times there was a cat in any of the retellings of Duchess Melody’s adventures. As he stared at Bass for a minute, he wove together all he knew about the blue namekian in the southern islands, but then nothing came to mind, not a single bit. The main reason was because he just knew of some turtle school master with a horrible laugh in some of those stories and did not make the connection that he was actually a cat and not a turtle due to the wild imagination of still being a child at heart.
“No news means it's good news.” Echo replied simply regarding his mother, “I would encourage you to visit Duchess Melody personally once we take care of this bounty while aiding others with the benefits of a food supply.”
In the locker room the tuxedo cat was able to try on the noise canceling headsets that fit his unique feline ears, sharing his concerns of being able to communicate without speaking, and then Bass explained that there were no need since they were also allowed to use special earbuds that worked with the headsets so that it only picked up speech while suppressing the sounds of the insects so that they could formulate a plan together without issue.
It was high-end technology that Echo was not used to, he would have stuffed cloth in his ears otherwise, but he figured it was worth trying on at least. With a simple nod, he followed along with the blue namekian’s instructions, pressing the necessary buttons. Before they could set off the entrepreneur inquired on procuring the remains, he pulled out a capsule corp tin showing him empty capsules as a means to store it all, so he was not entirely out of touch with technology after all.
As Bass began to hover in the air, Echo quickly followed up, blinking his violet eyes in response to the insects he was referring to. Fortunately, while Namekians were not required to eat, he did not perceive that those mutated Namekians were insects at all, and the teen agreed that it would be cannibalism otherwise even if they were not in the visage of King Piccolo–they were humanoids beyond humane salvation.
“So we shall seek the latest farmlands that these cicadas were last seen and look for context clues.” Echo pressed down on the button on his headset just to test it out. [450] [1,495] Will O. Wisp Bass

"I suppose once my training is complete I shall come to visit her before the upcoming World Martial Arts Tournament," Will said. Will would tell Echo and Bass that he is training at Korin's Tower but he is not sure if Echo would believe such a claim that would seem blasphemous to him so it was best not to let him know about that part. It was then luckily that Bass provided an alternative means of communications through earbuds and clip on mics to allow them to hear each and relay messages even while speaking. As he pockets it with along with his headphones. "You certainly spared no expense when it comes to this place Bass, you really took every precaution for the people who take these jobs," Will said to Bass. It was then that the youngest one suggested they check the last farmland they attacked for clues as to where they are now. "That's a good idea, maybe we find trace amounts of their Ki we can use to sense them out or even a shedded exoskeleton. My sense of smell is still pretty good but if we were to find a piece I might be able to catch their scent and follow it especially if it's unique. Let's just hope the farmers there are alright, there's only so much that a farmer wielding a shotgun can handle," Will O. Wisp said. With that he then walked outside before floating up high into the air above the town, getting a lay of the land. Also sensing for any unusual auras that might belong to the Cicada but haven't been able to find any. Before testing his communicator by using it contact the boy. "You know this area better than I do, would you mind leading us to the farm you mentioned?" Will asked Echo. Word Count: 306 Total Word Count: 1,045 Tags: Bass , Echo
