Roderick glanced around at his surroundings, his hands deep in his pockets to keep them safe and ward off any desperate pick pocketers looking for a quick buck. He wore his short-sleeved, blue T-shirt in the city along with his blue sweatpants. Sure he could zip up his pockets, so he didn't have to have his hands in said pockets, but he felt more comfortable like this. He wondered why he even decided to come here. This city was super dangerous and filled with crime! He could be mugged, kidnapped, or even worse! He wasn't even used to big cities! Furthermore, he was just a kid! That's when he remembered how built up the courage to even come here. After that scuffle with that ice boy, he realized that he was much stronger than he initially thought. If he could survive taking on giant walls of ice, he could take on some mugger with a knife. What about a gun? Uhhhhh, never mind that! It was much warmer here too than in the north. While the cold didn't bother him anyway, it still was better here since of not having to spend a good 5 minutes just changing into warm clothes.
This would be good exposure too. He couldn't always just live in safety for all his life. He had to KNOW what it felt like to live in a dangerous city. To know how it felt like to feel in danger of losing all you had. To be robbed and, potentially, lose your life. Call it stupid or crazy, he just had to know this feeling. He had been looking inside shops, local criers, and some dark alleyways but... nothing. There hadn't been any attempts at anyone trying to rob him to his knowledge. No stickups, no shady people following him. Nothing. It was so odd. Wasn't this the most dangerous city to be in? He had passed by apartments, stores, banks, even some territory of well known gangs but just nothing. He was so confused? Did he look too dangerous or too hard to rob? He wouldn't say he's too threatening looking or intimidating. He also really didn't have any muscle to show. Not only that, but he was honestly just a bit fat on his stomach too. Did he look to easy to rob and was thus assumed to be a trap? He didn't want to be robbed, but he wasn't just surprised he hadn't had anyone try to rob him yet. It was like in a fight. You didn't want to be punched, but you had to expect to be punched.
He kept glancing around, still confused by the lack of attempts to rob him. He was in a pretty bustling area, too. Near shop owners and passing by crowds. Maybe just too many people around? Who knew. He would try to go somewhere more crime, likely. He was confident he wouldn't be hurt to bad. That last fight showed him just how strong he really was. He can take some muggers... wait, didn't he already think something like that?

Oolong City. The haven of Grand Dukes and criminals. A place so infested by crime that even Paizu, whose knowledge of Earth's society had gotten severely outdated in so many years of being trapped inside the Forest of Terror, knew that it was no good place to be. All of this got Valentus even more interested in paying the city a visit. Someone has to do something to weed out the rot, after all, and while it is certainly not a one man job to clean an entire city out of crime or even patrol to see that everything was going as normal, even a single knight can add just a little pressure to setting things right. Valentus was making his way across the streets, the knight dressed in fancy armor attracting attention from a few of the people passing by him - but far from everyone. On a planet filled with Namekians, beastmen, and samurai coexisting with hypermodern technology, a single teenager who looked like he stepped straight out of the medieval era was not much to write home about. Maybe they are a honor guard to one of those Pig Demon Duchies scattered across the Western lands, or maybe they are an actor who was rushing for their screenplay somewhere in the city downtown. The Tuffle would have moved along and passed through the street as if nothing happened, vanishing from sight entirely - however, he stopped. " Hey..." he blurbed, glancing towards the other teen who was standing on the street, glancing around to his surroundings with his hands deep in his pockets - rather... suspicious, knowing the area. " Are you lost?" (271 words, total 785)

Almost everyone must've seen, or heard, a knight in shining armor. But not this kid. He didn't even turn to look at the Tuffle, the boy lost in his own world. He only managed to hear him because of the redhead speaking again.
Roderick came back to reality, blinking and trying to get a bearing of his surroundings again. Where was he again? He began to look around himself, still a little bewildered, until something caught his eye. Or someONE in this case. He saw a red-headed teen in shining armor looking in his direction.
To say the lost boy was merely shocked would've been an understatement. For the boy, seeing a some kid around his age looking like they came straight from the medieval era was something to write home about. If only the knight could see his expression.
The Tuffle, now being face to face with the teen, could see that... well… COULDN'T see the seemingly lost teen's face. They wore a blue neck gaiter and a similarly colored hood that covered his face. They could barely see the boy's face under all that covering! The faintest hint of expression the Tuffle could make out was the outlines of 2 eyes through the shroud of darkness. And they seemed to be wide in shock.
He was confused on if this walking fantasy character was talking to him or not. He turned, looking around and behind him before facing back at the red head. "Uhm... you talking to me?" He asked, a hint of bewilderment in his tone. Was this the cops? How badly funded was the justice enforcers in this city?! Not only did their equipment seem… Out of date... but this guy looked around the same age as himself! He briefly wondered if this was all in his head...

The other teen was hiding his face underneath a hood, but even that was not enough for him to hide his bewilderment. Two shocked eyes stared from behind the hood, the teen looked from one side to another, and finally expressed the confusion about being suddenly addressed. Valentus briefly blinked, then cracked a faint smile. " Well yeah, I'm talking to you, of course," the Tuffle answered, placing one of his hands on his hip in a resting stance. " Standing in the middle of the sidewalk, frozen like some girl's just kissed you, covering your face up with your hood... With that repertoire, you are either lost or you are-" He was about to say "someone suspicious", but suddenly, his face turned to the side and his speech got cut off by a woman's yell: " There he is!" A small fairy, Paizu, suddenly flew into the street from an alleyway in the distance - furious, and pointing at the knight standing next to the hooded teen. Right after Paizu, her friend ran out - and it was... also Valentus? It was the exact same red-haired teenage knight, with the same armor, the same cape, the same everything. He too was furious, and immediately yelled: " Get away from him!" " That's... an impostor!" the Valentus standing next to the hooded teen called out, which got the Valentus who was currently running at them to call out as well: " He's the impostor! And a thief!" He listened to the walking video game character and couldn't help but laugh at what they said. He was all but 100% sure that not one girl had even THOUGHT about kissing him. Not that he was too focused about stuff like that anymore. He was about to speak back to the fantasy character when he heard someone else call out.
He turned his head quickly over to the voice, not going to make the mistake of hoping they were talking about someone else. However, if things weren't already like a video game, he saw what he thought was just some glint, before making out the shape of... some small humanoid flying? His eyes would be the size of cars if it could express the utter shock he was feeling. If things couldn't get any more crazy, he saw the same red-headed teen he had just been talking to following close behind the pixie! His eyes now had to be the size of buildings to express the added upon confusion of the situation.
He glanced at the original red head he had been talking to, back at the running red head, before back at the original red head before pointing his finger at the pair and asking "Please explain." What the HECK WAS UP WITH THIS CITY?!?! He couldn't just have a normal day??? With muggings and crime galore?? This either had to be a dream or someone did something to him while he wasn't aware.

As one might expect, seeing two brightly colored knights running at one another and calling the other an impostor was a... confusing sight, at least. The hooded boy who got pulled into the scene against his will certainly was confused - all he managed to mutter out was a request for something to be explained, but his body language and facial expression betrayed that he could have yelled far more if he wanted to.
"That person," the other Valentus approaching the scene announced. "is a shapeshifter - I saw him attempting to rob someone, but then he stole my appearance and ran off!"
"I did not, I-" the Valentus standing next to the hooded teenager mumbled, his voice cracking slightly. His counterpart approaching reached next to his belt, tapping te handle of his sword - a sword which the first Valentus did not have. His sheath was empty.
"You don't have Paizu and you don't have this. Surrender!"
The eyes of the first, unarmed Valentus shifted from one side to another - then, with no other option left, he suddenly pulled in the confused teenager and pecked him on the lips. Immediately upon touch, his appearance changed, and he transformed into a perfect replica of the teen - with the face, clothes, hood, and even voice, a voice which yelled:
"So long!"
And so, after cracking a smirk, the copy of Roderick ran, lunging across the street as fast as he could.

The hooded figure was just confused by the situation. There were shape-shifters?! What's next?? That there’s a conquering lizard in a bottle?! He listened to what the newly arrived red head had to say. He looked down to the sheath they both had and noticed only one of them had a sword. The recent knight had one. Wait, they had a sword? Holy crap, that was cool. He wanted a sword now. He wanted to hold a sword. Would it be heavy? He knew swords did require some balancing to wield and- wait, focus! The new fantasy character also had a little… pixie? Fairy? Magical, tiny, flying creature with him? Whatever it was, the new one had one and the one he had been talking to didn’t. He wasn’t so sure this could prove it, though, since he didn’t even know what the original one had. He was going to speak when he saw the original one move towards him. “What’re you-“
He felt them pull down his mask to uncover his lips, and felt shock freeze up his body for a moment when they pecked him. The creature turning into a perfect disguise of himself, appearing in front of his eyes before saying their goodbyes and running away. He then forced his body to move. The shock of the situation quickly fading and quickly being replaced by the UNENDING RAGE he was currently experiencing. He hadn’t even glanced at the pair before turning on his heels towards the escaping imposter, balling up his fists, before practically jumping off the ground and pursuing after them. Making sure to properly gag at the sudden peck on his lips. Wiping his mouth on his sleeves before spitting at the ground as he chased after them.

Copying the appearance of his victims was one thing, but it did not transfer the powers and abilities of those copied - and now that he has gotten one too many enemies, the unfortunate shapeshifter was quickly backed to a corner. The teen who he had stolen the appearance of ran after him, and he was faster and more agile than anyone could have expected. Clearly, he knew a thing or two about ki arts as well. As the shapeshifter attempted to cut a corner, Paizu suddenly appeared in front of him, yelling a loud " Hey!" and releasing a flash of blinding light from her wings - it caught the man straight in the eyes and got him to back away, stumbling from the sudden flash. Valentus and the hooded teen reached him almost instantly, and the Tuffle decked him in the head with his elbow. Just as he hoped, the blow not only knocked him face first to the ground, but also revealed the shapeshifter's true appearance - and it was rather disgusting. It also fit with the description which the Tuffle received from Oolong City Police, so... " Victory!" Paizu announced, giggling and waving her hands. Valentus pulled the shapeshifter's arms behind his back to restrain him, then raised his eyes to take a look at the teen who got involved into the incident against his will. " I'm, uh... sorry that happened. This man has been using his shapeshifting powers and trick people into following him, before robbing them blind. But this will hopefully the last time he can pull that off." He faintly smiles. " Name's Valentus, by the way. Uh... nice to meet you, I guess." (279 words, total 2391)

Roderick was honestly surprised at the two actually going in to help him chase the imposter. But after thinking about it some more, it made sense. They had been looking for this… shape-shifter? They had also stolen their looks, so it only made sense those two would keep chasing them.
Unknown to the hero, he actually didn’t k ow anything about ki arts! Only slightly about the basics of martial arts. Roderick would’ve been flattered if they thought he knew how to use such a thing. Especially because of his agile and fast speed. Also given his body type buuuuuut back to the action… He was catching up to the figure when he saw the pixie. He then quickly stopped once the imposter began to back away. Roderick himself had been got in the bright flash of light, so he had to wait in order for the okay effects of the blinding light to wear off. He did, however, see through the momentary blindness, the red head hit the imposter, and it changed back into some sort of pink creature.
Once his vision came back, and he fully saw the creature on the ground, he let out an “Ew!” Before stomping on it after it was already down for the count because of what they had done to him. He panted, rubbing his eyes, still a little sore from the light. He couldn’t help but chuckle at the little fairy announcing their victory. Fixing up his mask, he turned to face the ORIGINAL red head, just awkwardly waving at them. Those earlier events made it weird to just stare at the fantasy character, but he powered through it. “Thanks… for the apology.” He said with a hint of nervousness. “Um… hey… Valentus.” What an odd name. “The names Roderick… or at least… that’s my nickname anyway…”

After the effects of the flash of light wore off, the hooded teenager expressed his contempt at the shapeshifter by kicking him while he was down - however, it was clear that the incident left the situation quite awkward for him. Fumbling with his words, he eventually introduced himself as Roderick. Valentus pulled up the unfortunate evildoer and tossed him over his shoulder, where he moaned and grumbled, forced to stare at Paizu blowing a raspberry at him and then flipping him off.
"Nice to meet you, Roderick," Valentus answered. The fact that it was his nickname got him to briefly raise his eyebrow, but the Tuffle just pushed that thought to the side. The teen must have had a reason for it, and he didn't want to pry into something that was clearly personal for him.
In fact, as the teen was clearly left rather uncomfortable by the incident, maybe it was not right for him to linger here for long at all? After all, he has already accomplished the hero's task - he stopped the thief, prevented him from hurting or robbing Roderick, and the teen was grateful, if still feeling rather awkward. Valentus' mind agreed.
"Well, then see you around, and be safe!" the Tuffle continued, smiled, and briefly waved a hand salute. As he turned around and departed, Paizu turned towards Roderick as well, and yelled her own goodbyes:
"Byye! Make sure you get kissed by someone actually cute next time!"
