Poor Yasu found himself in a disheartened state. The reason being he did not love the world. After all, he had been beaten up, a follower of his had been beaten up, and he was not confident in alleviating himself of a curse on his family. The type of curse he did not understand if it was good or bad. Although, considering the effects, gain someone's entire level of powers in exchange for your own life force (to him) that sounded bad.
He decided he was going to go on a vacation and the perfect spot was the southern islands! He was already headed there for a tournament, but had gotten a bit lost along the way and helped a nice girl named Tiger Lily. In his mind, that there should have been his dream vacation, to hang out with her, but she and he seemed a bit forceful towards one another. She was nice, really nice compared to how he had been, but a land of summer awaited him. If Yasu wanted true vacation time he needed to go to where gentle waves, sand and sun touched his feet.
Therefore, he put trust in his devilish appearing flying cape and zoomed across the airways. This time he made sure the thing had some gas so he would not crash. He and Ty may have discussed some things and one of them was a "Cloud Dancing Art", no, that was not it. He understood it could let him fly though so he needed to find a proper teacher for it. Someone who could handle his sometimes abrasive personality.
Yasu was definitely happy about one thing though. This world was not hard to lose one's way in. There were only a few scattered major cities. The rest were small towns or cities. Travel around the world was also pretty easy if you could fly in his case or ride in a vehicle. He was pretty sure he did not have one of those or understood the concept of driving. He did not want to hurt himself or others doing that so this flight thing happening now was for the best. Yasu loved it simply because he only had to breath in a few bad fumes instead of a lot. When he signed up for the martial artists tourney the East City he went to for that had a lot of cars.
It did smell bad, but just traveling over it gave him the willies in terms of sniffing in suffocating fumes. Therefore, for this trip he avoided launching from there and began the desert, dashed over it sprawling space, landed on Ty's sand bar, helped her out, and then once he got enough energy continued to fly south. It was one confusing trip but that was because the boy literally was traveling on his own power.
In mid air, Yasu felt himself start to yawn as day turned to night. He landed on another sand bar albeit more safely, however, because of its location in the middle of the ocean he did not get much sleep. He imagined sharks or whales trying to eat his sorry flesh. He tasted horrible, so he prayed they did not. He awakened to the constant sound of waves and after running a lap around his brief respite launched himself into the air again and flew once more. He really needed to learn how to truly fly because this cape akin to training wheels and made him appear weird in his only clothes, a track suit. They were a little sandy now too from resting on his little island, so it just made thing worse. The trip was not over though.
Yasu thought he needed a goal. He remembered once what his mother told him about them while Yoi was off playing in the desert nearby, "Yasu, you need a desire in this world. It has to be something you can build with the help of a family, and not Yoi, if I am being honest I do not trust her. You cannot trust me either after my rather hands off approach, but believe me when I say this. You will fail going solo."
It was because he was not tenacious enough to create a real dream on his own. His mother had partnered him up with Yoi to save his life but often she did nothing but leech off him. "Perhaps it was toxic?" he wondered as he flew south. "Who can I trust?" He thought of Lilith, if he ever got her good graces again, the beat up Chiu, and Tiger Lily." Gosh, he needed more male friends. This trip might just be one to get some!
His mind wandered for days as he tended to end up running into sand bars or islands to land on in the south. He passed over South City too, however, most of his trip was sea, sand and waves. This portion of the world felt empty now as he sought the elusive Papaya Island from overhead.
