After Yasu's discouraging defeat against Gabu, the young man fled the northern lands and returned to the eastern lands whereupon he went high into the mountains there to nurse his wounds. In particular, he made his way up the slops of Mt. Paozu (the home of many Saiyans on Earth) but dragged the unconscious body of Chiu to his mother's home, a simple tent in the desert, for her to recover. She was severely bruised compared to him along her back and yet found so far no way to treat her save for finding something called a Senzu Bean. He had no idea what made it different from an ordinary bean until he read about them in some old clippings at a library on the border between these lands from a century ago. Apparently, they granted a non-dead person their full vitality again yet indicated nothing about whether they were still around, who grew them, and how they got them.
These questions made him travel into Mt. Paozu's territory simply because reclusive farmers, martial artists, etc. lived alongside Saiyans whom seemed to remain twenty (as the rumors went) into their fifties. The mage inside Yasu wanted to save Chiu with this power then eat a few himself to stay fit and youthful. Gabu's fight with him he did a number on his body but unlike Chiu's it healed far better and appeared to not have a scratch on it. Yasu's legs, now stronger too, climbed the steep slopes of the mountainside with more vigor than an athlete might produce. It was strange since Yasu thought he was a weak bookworm most of the time. He was right to think this way as the moment he got to the top his knees gave way in front of a vast weed-covered field.

He sat on the ground to rest but when he did he heard panting both behind and in front of him. He looked back and found his sister Yoi dragging her tail behind her. He then looked forward and found an himself watching an extremely short, young man in overalls and straw hat pull himself along the ground as though he were wounded. Yasu slapped his forehead as he realized the phrase that might come next.
"You got to help me! I am in trouble!"
Yasu sighed, got up and dragged Yoi to where he had been sitting. Next, he did the same for the farmer yet carefully flipped him over. Yasu groaned seeing the man had no injuries on himself and neither did Yoi but both looked so beat that they might die of thirst.
"What's going on here?" He demanded of both. Both sat up in front of him and babbled two separate sets of information at the same time.
"Mama sent me after you to find food to feed herself and Chiu, if possible, but then I collapsed."
"I have food on this mountain I usually grow but am beat from trying to produce enough to feed a horde of Saiyans."
They then announced together, "If we do not get food for them they will murder us!" This caused them to stare at each other and Yasu laughed then pat them both on the head.
"I can get both I suppose. Yet I want to be paid well!" Yasu stated pinching his index finger and thumb together to rub them softly.

"You will be paid," the farmer promised. He handed Yasu a pair of gloves then pointed at the weeds as if saying to start with them. Then pointed at some seeds and few cows standing about. These needed to be handled too.
Yasu nodded then lifted Yoi off the ground and told her, "If I work then you do too. We need to plant this whole field because these Saiyans sound as if they are a hungry group."
Yoi let out a groan but both put on work gloves to start. They followed through with their orders dashing out into the fields to bend over to grab weeds. Piles of the dead weeds soon collected themselves at their feet and to let them lay there was a bad idea. The siblings carried them to the other side of the field, as an old barn sat at the end of the field riddled with holes and red stained floorboards. They could see a composting bin inside and chucked the dead material inside it to hopefully nurture new plants in the future.
The two siblings then returned to the farmers who handed them hoes but instead of accepting one Yasu told him he was going to work on the barn. Yoi used her time to slowly cut and smash through the ground where seeds were going to go. In the meantime, Yasu climbed the roof of the man's barn, puled off rotting board and then descended along the backside of the building. He found a pile of fresh wood there and climbed up to the roof to nail them in. His hand steadied each plank slamming a six-inch nail in to them with his hammer hand to hold them in place. When he was done, Yoi was barely a quarter of the way done with the field. She demanded a break so they took one.
The old man gave them bread and water, as that was all he had, causing Yasu's sister to complain yet after what Yasu experienced today he was glad to get something to eat. Yasu returned to work after this and finished up by painting the fine barn red. He then made Yoi rest and plowed through seventy percent of what remained of the field with the tool Yoi got. This tool, a simple hoe, was lighter feeling for something that felt so heavy. He decided to forgo it though, after thirty minutes with it, because of this and opted to fire precise energy beams along straight lines in hopes of easing his efforts. it was cheating but Yasu did not care. He wanted to be done by the end of the day.
While this happened, Yoi played with the cows, rode them and gave them water. The farmer was absolutely thrilled how easy they made his life. He would be able to give the Saiyans in this mountainous region the food they demanded in a few weeks.

The surrounding grasslands were in poor shape but with Yasu and Yoi's help the farmer swiftly turned his lands into a usable farm. His barn ended up fixed, his fields plowed and his cows fed. All that was left was to bury the seeds, cover them, water them and wait for them to mature. There would be plenty of food for the coming months to give to both the Saiyans and Yoi. While they underwent a rest in the late afternoon, Yasu and the farmer agreed to split the crops, well, ones the farmer had already grown in the prior weeks before now. They were small, gnarly and no Saiyan would accept them, however, Yoi thought they might be good in soups when she inspected them. Their mother literally only understood how to create a stew thus it was no problem!
After their little, sworn trade Yasu attended to the remaining work of planting seeds. He draped a cape with high brim and an evil flair to it around his shoulders and used it briefly fly over the fields and scatter seeds by air along the straight plow lines he made earlier. Yoi then ran below him and used her hands to cover up the holes as best as she could so that they would not blow away. Yasu then flew over to an old pump, filled a can of water and swooped over the field one more time to drop gallons of water on it. This water and the golden soil conditions they made might help the crops survive in time for the Saiyans' unspecified collection date.
After a while, Yasu got tired and landed. He was glad all he ever wore was gym clothes as he removed his cape and handed it to Yoi to hold onto. He would then brush his clothes off and gaze at the fresh fields ahead of him. They seemed really well done except for one thing. They did not have a fence!
Yasu grabbed some boards from behind the bar and rammed them into the ground around the field in a big rectangular manner. He then called on Yoi who rushed around after him carefully nailing in three-inch nails on each post. Upon finishing this, Yasu ran back grabbed some wire and stranded them along each post in crisscross fashion. He had no clue what the wires might halt in their efforts but it was better than nothing. The reason was enormous animals oft lived in the area alongside the Saiyans and fences such ass the one Yasu now built were for little more than show oftentimes.
The siblings breathed a sigh of relief when they finished, but even with Yasu's magic powers it still ended up turning to night by the time they finished. They both felt sad at the aspect but the farmer, now moved into his home next to the barn, was grateful. Yasu only stayed long enough to collect the scrawny vegetables at the end of the night. He had places to go and people to see such as his mom and the unconscious Chiu. They now had their payment in a bag that suddenly felt heavy after a long day's effort. It was in part due to the veggies but also the farmer deciding to pay them in lots of Zeni coins for a job that would have ended up being months to complete. It made both siblings happy they could just do something and get a reward as they clamored down the mountain decided to return to the desert. Having gone up to Mt. Paozu, Yasu felt surprised how different the environ was from the hot desert he lived in with his family.
Yasu now wished he was a farmer, but he understood why his mom would lead that life. Yasu her only son had a curse on him and would die apparently now without the presence of Yoi to hold it at arm's length for him. It made Yasu wonder, "Saiyans are pretty violent. If Gabu did not murder me would they if they truly wished to?"
It was a hard question to answer as he returned to the sands with Yoi clenching his hand while they moved. He let the veggies and other goods he had on him hang from his bag and allowed his cape to cushion the things inside it. Across his chest, Yasu carried a bottle of alcoholic sake. This was something he now pulled out as they wandered home. His lips and cheeks turned paisley red as blood rushed to his head. Today had ended up a fine day for all involved even as he stumbled along in the hottest place on Earth.
If that farmer wanted to hire him again, Yasu now had an idea where to go. He would not jump at the chance again, but it was a fine alternative to getting cash. Yoi seemed to enjoy it too based on the fact that she had not annoyed him about needing food in any manner at all today. The pair got through this without destroying each other! A new wave of success was on the horizon for this small time mage and his sibling. He was sure even Chiu might eventually join him again too if she got up from her deathly state anytime soon. All he needed to do was wish for success and continue trying hard and it might just occur.
Yasu eventually made it to the tent they all lived in the desert and now gazing at it has his mother awaited them outside wished, "That I could have my own place to live and stay at. A tent is too small."
