Spending a 7-star voucher to repeat this mission. After successfully securing Port Lumina, the Bossa Nova clan of samurai were split up, the twin brothers and the nobles of Grape Vine Village were escorted south with Samba Bossa Nova. With the upcoming World Martial Arts Tournament the buke needed to resume their training in the Western Lands since they were all participating in the Junior division. Cadence and Canon Bossa Nova continued to move west on the coastal border to the next port town, Emerald Isle, while their elder sister Melody went on a pseudo date with a Black Heart Namekian. Of course, that is what the younger siblings assumed happened, since they were separated for a long period of time. Emerald Isle was connected to the northern coast by glaciers, the twins hopped each one to reach the fishing village, and were greeted by the mayor. Hellebore was a flamboyant young adult that had a clean hair style split down the middle of his head, and wore balls of fur like a necklace over the traditional northern land clothing locals often wore. As the villagers occupied themselves with loading crates full of provisions into a warehouse for safe keeping, the local town guards were well trained to face off the raids of namekians that plagued the area, this island was rich in resources so it was able to afford the best fighters. In fact, several fighters were recruited to meet on the island, in exchange for a plot of land on the coastal border. “Welcome to Emerald Isle, I am Mayor Hellebore, it is a pleasure.” The Mayor was quick to take Cadence’s hand to kiss in greeting, then proceeded to do the same with the seven foot tall Canon, but the samurai stepped back to avoid it. Melody air dropped on to the courtyard square, landing between her siblings, and her hand was taken by the Mayor to her surprise as he also kissed it. “Greetings.” The Duchess deadpanned at the Mayor of the isle, “When was the last time the island was raided? Are you also faced with insect varieties of Black Heart Namekians?”“Heavens no~!” Hellebore lowered his shoulders, “As soon as we discovered their aversion to fire, those types do not dare go near our island, and our town guards are expert pyromancers. The Namekians that do raid our town travel in total darkness, we are yet to capture one, since they are much stealther than their other counterparts. I do hope that a few samurai are able to handle them, it’s bad for business if we keep losing our supplies to the enemy.” [429/14,000] Bass Loki seungkyu Kurogane

A creature of wanting stature approached in a manner dreadfully mundane. How so? Why, by comparison to some who made their descent from the heavens themselves. By the time that entrance was made, Loki was adjacent. He was easily able to catch sight of it. To himself, he thought, ‘Wow… that was actually pretty rad.' He wished he could do such a thing. He imagined if he made such an attempt, a wheel chair would be waiting for him at the other end of the recovery process.
Though, there was more to his noting such a feat. He had an inkling of a feeling. This feeling was one of unbelonging. Like having applied for a job by perhaps selectively exaggerating certain qualifications, this was what Loki had felt he had done contracting himself to this one. He knew he was pretty strong. As he walked, he subtly flexed and glanced towards his own jacket-ed arm. He was stronger than so many, but most certainly not stronger than those of the same… ilk.
Black Heart Namekians. They had a large relevance to what he was contracted to do that day. At that moment, he teetered upon indifference, leaning further away from anxiety as his paces slowed and finally, Loki had made his way into the gathered group of people. He could not hold on to worry for long. It took so much energy to do so and offered no kind of benefit. The only downside was slipping into the callous, dismissive and hateful beastkin that he was back in glummer days past.
“Hey there!” he announced with a hearty wave - wide, yet not very long lasting. “Loki Fox, here. Here to help the best that I can.” He awkwardly swung his arm in enthusiasm much like a trope-y pirate might while hollering the candid, ‘aaaar!’ line.

The train rode along smoothly; it was actually supernaturally smooth. But, there was a reason for that; it was technically a magic train. Well, not entirely. It was a mixture of magic, that Hotaru did not understand much, as well as technology, which Hotaru understood less. But, what he did understand, from his cursory glance over the reading material which was in his private cabin - which he was sharing with Himawari - was that the train did not need to travel on any form of track like a regular train. This particular train was actually hovering, or at least it looked to be hovering, several inches up off the ground. It was technically running on tracks, but the tracks were semi-visible and made out of Ki energies, solidified to allow the train to run across them.
This was the most efficient train that had ever been constructed, or at least that is what the brochure said. But, that could have just been bluster from the company that made the train.
Himawari was seated across from him and while Hotaru peered out the window, Himawari kept his eyes, hidden away behind his blindfold, set up toward the ceiling.
"That Echo kid was nice..." Himawari piped up.
"Hm? Yeah, he was nice. He had a really firm grip..." Hotaru rubbed his hand, he could still feel just how tightly the boy had gripped his hand when he reached his hand out for a handshake. He was strong, really strong. He was far stronger than Hotaru was.
"That handshake of his... That kid really had some self control over his Ki." Himawari almost sounded impressed, thinking back to their interactions with young Echo. He had sensed him even before he had made himself known to the pair. He had also sensed the aura around him, his use of Ki. "He's interesting. What did you think about him?"
"I think...I want to be a buke... He said you could be a samurai? If that's true...then you could train me." Hotaru peered over at the blindfolded man, hopeful.
"I don't see why not. Your elder sister had offered to give me some training to become a samurai, but I had never really seen the point of it... but, if it's to help you reach your goal and keep your promise... I'll go through the training for you, kid," Himawari lowered his head, grinning wide.
Arriving in the Northern Lands, the train barreled through the air atop its semi-visible tracks of Ki, a long white twisting twirling snake of white smoke pouring out of the train's smoke stack.
It was at the Northern Coast that the train came to a halt. The soft hissing of the brakes filled the air and soon the train had stopped, hovering above the ground as the two young men jumped out onto terra firma.
"Well, we're here... What did my sister say about the raided villages?" Hotaru peered over at Himawari.
"She said that we should get some supplies and maybe some information about Black Heart Namekians ...over there," Himawari pointed in the direction of the Emerald Isle, "There's some glaciers connecting the Isle to here, so we just have to hop our way across. I think there's other people already ahead of us."
"Then, maybe they're part of that Bossa Nova clan that Echo told us about? If so, maybe they can help us?"
That was all the encouragement that Hotaru needed; if he could talk to the Bossa Nova clan, he could work his way toward becoming a Buke, as well as Himawari becoming a samurai, and furthermore, maybe even gaining some allies for the Phoenix clan... That would definitely impress Sakura.
The two hopped across the glaciers, Himawari sticking close to Hotaru the entire time, and then they landed not far away from the Mayor and the others.
"Ah~! Fresh faces!" The flamboyant Mayor pointed toward the duo in an extravagant manner as he made it well known to everyone around that he had spotted them. "Welcome to the Emerald Isle!" He moved, surprisingly quickly, up to where the two were and lunged for Himawari's hand so as to kiss it. Himawari sensed his approach; not only from the very noisy approach but also each and every step he took sent tremors through the ground.
The white haired Himawari sidestepped the Mayor who face planted into the ground only to shoot up to his feet rather quickly as he dusted himself off.
"Ah, uh, As I was saying, welcome!" He bowed to Hotaru and Himawari. "We do love guests here. I am Mayor Hellebore of the Emerald Isle, charmed I'm sure."

It had been several days since Seungkyu traveled North from the Eastern Lands. He was on his quest to find out what had happened to Earth in the last four hundred years since he was put in a deep slumber while doing side jobs to support himself. The poor demon prince no longer had servants to attend to his needs and his palace needed a lot of repairs, even his domain was totally wiped out that there remained nothing but wild grass and abandoned houses in Colorcloud Village. Unfortunately, he was always kicked out of work, as soon as he got hired because of his rowdy and quick-tempered attitude. The cold weather in the North affected his journey as he needed to land on the surface and rest whenever the blizzard hit. This time he was in the wilderness, and thankfully, he was saved by the fishes in frozen lakes, every time he felt a growl in his stomach. Even as a demon, he always preferred his food cooked, but in this condition? He got to at least try lighting a fire. It was also a good opportunity to test his abilities; having been asleep for four hundred years, he needed to assess how rusty he had gotten in using his powers. It was a bit of a struggle at first, the climate made it quite the challenge to create a spark, even with the use of his ki. “Darn it,” Seungkyu threw the frozen driftwood in frustration. He was able to do it yesterday, what made it different today? “Well, gotta get outta here while the weather is calm,” he muttered to himself as he summoned his wings, and prepared to leave. This time the raven-haired demon headed westward, after a few hours of non-stop flying, the climate began to get a little bit warmer. He tasted the salt in the sea breeze as he fixed his eyes on the sea below, and after quite some time, noticed an island coming into full view. With a delighted heart, Seungkyu hurried to get to the island as soon as possible, not realizing he was being chased after by a swarm of Black Heart Namekian insects. Several got past him, flocked around, and together, lunged their claws on him. Seungkyu did his best to evade, quickly swerving to his right as he dove down. He needed to create a distraction. Facing the swarm behind his back, he focused his energy on his right hand, creating a ball of light, and blasted it towards the enemy. A smirk formed on his face when some of the insects got caught and exploded, only to be replaced by a surprised look when the blasted parts came together and multiplied their number. The demon then continued to escape from their clutches, until he finally reached the isle. However, one Namekian managed to grab a hold of him, tearing a part of his left wing. Seungkyu fell to the ground flat on his face, in what seemed to be a town square where several people had gathered. He sat up, as soon as he recovered, rubbing his head to ease the painful landing, and it took him quite a while before realizing that the people gathering around were staring at him. One, in particular, was the weird guy who had a middle-split hairstyle with thick eyelashes and gray eyes. “Not a graceful landing there, lad~” Hellebore took Seungkyu’s hand and helped him up, “Are you alright? You look unwell.” he followed up, not letting go of his hand. The demon blinked twice, shaking off his hand out of the mayor's clutch. Meanwhile, the town guards breathed fire on the insect namekians who attacked the fallen demon prince. [622/622] [2,131/14,000] Starting PL: 94 PL Bass Melody Loki Kurogane

Three hours before the present time.Within a briefing room, Military Queen Mace spoke towards an audience of seasoned soldiers sitting at various tables. A bright projector cast a map onto a whiteboard, the kind that allowed for a laminated overlay to be used to draw upon. The map seemed to be depicting what would be Emerald Isle. "To summarize everything we've spoken about, then. Our purpose will be establish a wide scattered perimeter around Emerald Island in squads; no one comes ashore, no one starts swimming. We'll be reinforcing the guards there. The CEO intends to handle this situation personally given his extended stay here, so for the most part we're just there to make sure none of the bastards slip through the cracks and make a run for it, got that?" She said, an intense stare turning towards one of the troops that thought he could doze off. The pointed tone and raised voice was enough to snap him back to reality, nobody wanted to get on Mace's bad side. Not even Bass. Getting a consensus, she cleared her throat before continuing. "Right. Our op begins in in exactly..." The large clock hung on the opposite side of the room ticked. The second hand ticked, ticked, and ticked again. "One hour and thirty minutes. Be ready in the convoy, fully geared, ready to go by then. Your squads are the usual. This briefing's finished." She said, collecting some of her documents before switching off the projector. Soldiers of all Earthly species muttered amongst one another before dispersing to go relax for a bit before heading out. Ten minutes before the present time.Bass, sitting inside his rather quaint and modest office (even coming up short by a longshot in luxury compared to Maces) in the military Bass suddenly was alerted by the shrill clang-ringing of his clunky cellular device. Removing the clip holding it on his belt, he'd bring it up to his ear and speak into the phone. "We're good to go?" He asked, assuming the person calling was Mace. His feet were currently kicked up on his desk. The sound of a motor running and water splashing could be heard, but her voice came through. "Yes Bass, my men and I will be in position on the hour. Goodbye now, we have work to do." The line went dead. On the field, Mace didn't spare any leisure. She was efficient, ruthless, some might say, but it was the talent she had- bringing the viciousness of a Demon to the battlefield that raised her to be an even greater leader.
Minutes later and the Namekian was overseas heading towards Emerald Isle. Regardless of the circumstances, the intelligence of a new or at least elusive threat from the Black Heart Namekians was solid and reputable. Bass knew that without proper research, his people wouldn't be able to spot them when the enemy was trying to be missed, but he did know if they were panicked and fleeing he had enough sharp eyes among his people to catch their trails. He'd need to get another live sample, as well. Looking down from the skies, he merely enjoyed the view. The waters of the frozen North were a lot more eerie than the pleasant tropical waters of the South. It gave a sense of mystery, even if there was no such thing. Coming up to the shore, he could see several Momentum Issued APCs driving down the road. They were just approaching the gates now, turrets firing ki empowered incendiary rounds of a caliber that left no confusion on whether or not they were incredibly lethal. Ideally breaking through the front lines and reconvening with the guard force there, they could help hold the line while keeping their main objective in mind. Bass on the other hand flew overhead and right into the city. It was a little awkward, being a Black Heart Namekian when they're being slaughtered in a fight for survival. It was only given how high up he was that he didn't get attacked himself, being within the clouds. And then like a bolt of lightning, he shot down and landed upon the ground. Sure enough, Melody was there. So were a number of faces he'd never seen before. His attention simply turned towards he figured was the one who maybe had some clues- but Bass felt like he'd have to sense these things to actually sniff them out. "If there's anything you can share that'd help me, please do. Hello Melody, and hello strangers." He'd say, looking towards Loki, Kurogane and Seungkyu. Bass was dressed quite oddly for the people that knew him. Instead of his office shirt, or casual clothes, he was dressed in a formal military uniform. Winter in design, a dark print making up his fatigues and shirt. While stylistically anyone could interpret anything, it was a choice done to be more in tune with the soldiers that were also risking their lives on this mission. To which, Bass closed his eyes and folded his arms to start sensing for abnormal ki signatures. {Outfit} 850 | 2,981 Melody Kurogane seungkyu Loki

The moment Seungryu fell from the sky, Melody stepped to the side, nearly stepping onto Loki’s paw until she corrected herself, she did not know either of these individuals as she deadpanned as the raven haired man landed face first on the courtyard. Cadence was the only one to react among the trio of siblings, she was startled by this man’s rough appearance that she yelped under her breath, and she sighed in relief when the Mayor helped the mysterious man up.
Hellebore was denied by the new arrival to kiss his hand, there was a pattern in that the males were not privy to having their hands kissed, he waved at Loki with curiosity, the Mayor was well aware that a few contracts were made in collaboration with the neighboring towns to secure the coastal border of the northern lands.
“Thank you for your prompt arrival, Loki Fox.” The Mayor then turned over to Bass with his eyes widening briefly, an uncanny resemblance to Piccolo Daimao’s wanted poster with a few differences, fashion sense for one, resembling a few soldiers that have been traversing the frozen north that have been reported by local merchants. Of course the soldiers the Mayor was aware of belonged to a mercenary group, it was unclear who their employers were, as they rarely provided their services to the natives. Rather than make assumptions, he clasped his hands together to gain everyone’s attention, and clarified what they were all hired to do in Emerald Isle.
“Our island is in close proximity to the Northern islands, so we have been fortunate to avoid a few raids to keep a sound economy, albeit intentionally by the black heart namekians that constantly raid the mainland border. The last few times our shipments have been stolen, only shadows were present, since a few of our town guards can use ki, myself included, we suspect that a powerful sorcerer is behind the attacks. In essence, we have blasting at shadows, capable of distracting us from the source. Do what you must to capture or destroy the enemy, each of you will be rewarded handsomely with a land title. Best of luck to you all.”
The mayor then stepped back to command his town guard to clear away what remained of the black heart namekian insects that attacked the mysterious winged man who failed to properly introduce himself with his less than a graceful landing in the courtyard.
“Ohayō~” Melody directed at Bass in greeting, she then turned to the group, “Greetings. I am Melody Bossa Nova, and I am with my younger twin siblings Cadence and Canon Bossa Nova. We are samurai that hail from the western lands.”
The Duchess’ violet eyes looked over to the pair of stark white haired young men dressed in western land style clothing, she had never seen them before, and she suspected they were from a minor clan. The trio of siblings bowed their heads slightly in respect to their Pig Demon Duchy affiliates.
“I am afraid my interactions with Black Heart Namekians has varied over the years, the type that invade the Western Lands are often monstrosities similar to dinosaurs, which are commonly eaten in Tundra Village who protect the Pig Demon Duchies from invaders at the coast. I have never heard of a sorcerer--” Melody reflected, “No. I have read reports that Black Heart Namekians used the magic of what we suspect are dragon ball shards of legend on an island off the coast of Pilaf Land. With that in mind, is anyone present, capable of utilizing sorcery?” [594] [3,575/14,000] Posting order: Melody , Loki , Kurogane , seungkyu , Bass

“Ah - hello,” Loki replied with a swift, somewhat rigid wave towards the tall, blue alien. Everything was actually not about to begin. Things had already begun. Before that, others arrived; though, not without flames licking at the skies above. Loki drew his eye towards the scene too late to catch much of what was going on, but it appeared the city’s forces had the scenario under control. They were dousing the threat with fire and it appeared to be working. Those making their presence known were calm enough despite it to lure Loki’s attention back upon them instead of lingering overhead.
“Hey, no problem.” Following the words of gratitude the mayor spoke towards him came the attention-seizing clasping of his hands. The evoked clap possessed enough volume to take priority over the whoosh of the flames in the background and the assumed pained cries they brought forth.
With the situation laid bare and their promised reward licking at the tail end of his elaboration, it then became apparent that it was then partially Loki’s job to accomplish what others had already failed at. “Thank you, Mayor,” he said with just a twinge of hesitance. It suggested a pinch of confusion, but more at what it was that he should do first. Before he could think any more about it, his attention was stolen away by an individual by the name of Melody. Following her introduction of both her and her siblings, Loki offered the trio a “yo,” and a wave much like the same he had offered many of the others.
There was actually not a whole lot Loki knew about. His world was rather confined. His own self interests took priority and his knowledge barely extended past the city he frequently pick-pocketed. Though, he was not about to bring any of that to light. He attempted to make a mental note of things to ask about later, but at that moment, he decided to go ahead and answer Melody’s question to the best of his ability.
“Well, I dunno about sorcery; but I can create a pretty good amount of fire. I’ve both heard and seen that it’s pretty effective.” With that, it was more than obvious that Loki was not even sure what sorcery was. He thought that it meant magic, strange techniques a lot more complex than his pyrotechnics. With nothing coming to mind on what else he could say, he looked about to the others present.

This was quite the strange assortment of people that had gathered out there on Emerald Isle. There were, among the growing crowd, a few strange looking individuals; well, that was, they were strange to him. He had never seen anyone like them before; for example, there was Loki. He looked like a fox? Hotaru had never spent any time with any beastmen before, and he assumed he was a fox of some kind. Then there was the blue skinned guy with the big ears and the military garb. He was another person of another species that he had not had any contact with whatsoever. He really had been kept away from the world for a long time, Hotaru thought, as he looked and noticed so many different people just dropping out of the air.
Then again, he couldn't say much. He stood out just as much as all of the others did; his shock of white hair, matching the wild spiky hair of his chaperone; the many scars covering his body. They could see the bare parts of him, his arms, his neck, his face even, had multiple scars, and it wasn't difficult to ascertain that he had more beneath the clothing he wore. Himawari stood out with his blindfold, and the soft snapping of his fingers as he moved, able to get around without removing the blindfold.
The woman, Melody as she introduced herself, was a samurai? Hotaru looked at her and then over at the other two. Wait. They said something about Bossa Nova clan? Western Lands? Did that mean they were related to Echo? He thought back to the young man he had met not long ago at the train station. Yes, that was the clan name he had mentioned.
He nudged Himawari and motioned over to Melody and the twins whom she was traveling with. Those were the ones that Echo had told them about. He had wanted to say that but, apparently, he did not need to.
"Yeah, I know." Himawari nodded back to his young ward.
So, that was their job? To deal with Black Heart Namekians? According to Melody, and her experiences, they came in various shapes and appearances, including dinosaurs. Hotaru has never seen a black heart namekian. He hasn't even seen a regular Namekian...Unless...
His eyes wandered over to Bass.
Was that a Namekian? Were the usually blue like that?
"Unfortunately, sorcery is not my strong point," Himawari spoke up, answering Melody's question.
"I'm not sure I know much about sorcery." Hotaru confirmed what his blindfolded chaperone had said, "I am willing to help in whatever way you believe I could be useful," He looked at Melody with serious eyes.

The mayor finally let go of his hand, he shook it first, but still felt the warm touch of the weird guy, the heat lingered for a few more seconds before it completely disappeared. The demon then shook the dust off his garment and picked up his weapon wrapped in white cloth and black ribbon strips in a criss-cross pattern. Seungkyu turned his back the moment Hellebore waved and greeted someone behind him, and his eyes met the gaze of several more people. A confused look was written all over his face, what were these people doing? Or rather, what were they about to do? It seemed everyone was expecting the arrival of one another as if they were going in a battle or fight or some kind of mission. First, there were these three samurai who seemed to be related to one another, and then a fox, who was greeted by the mayor, and another two people coming over to their group, both were white-haired though one was short and had several scars on his face, while the other was tall and was blindfolded. The raven-haired demon was curious if this person could even see, but maybe he can, perhaps he was not an ordinary human. Not long after, they were joined by a blue humanoid who had an antenna on his forehead wearing a military uniform he couldn’t recognize where it was from. Oh? So maybe they were really headed into some kind of war after all. The demon prince shifted his gaze to the green-haired lady who called herself Melody, asking if any one of them was familiar with sorcery. Eh? Black heart namekians? What are those? He had been asleep for so long, he wondered if the Earth was already invaded by creatures from the other planets. Seungkyu narrowed his eyes, leaned forward to Melody, his face close to hers, gauging if the girl was serious about her statement. “What? What are those for? Black heart namekians? Eh… I don’t have time for this, I need to find a job! Go off on your own, I wish you well!” Seungkyu waved his hands, bidding goodbye to the group he just met. Somebody has to explain to him what happened during his "absence", but from the looks of it, he could already tell that a lot has changed, and there were looming threats around the corner he still wasn't aware of. Regardless, in the meantime, it was not part of his business. Besides, he still had to find a decent job after being kicked out many times by different employers. Hm... The situation was a lot to take in. His intel wasn't inaccurate by any means, but hearing it in person and doubling down on some of the annoying details certainly rubbed the Namekian the wrong way. Folding his arms across his chest, his ki sensing came up with nothing. When Melody prompted them with a question of if anyone had sorcery, he practically groaned for a lot of reasons. The main two was that sorcerer and Kiryu were practically synonymous terms, and he missed Kiryu. The second reason was that it meant sorcery was a tool and not just a gimmick to match up with other fighters. Requiring it to answer a problem was... A very painful revelation to the Namekian. Yet just like Kiryu once stated he wasn't born with Bass's power potential, Bass wasn't born to make hand signs, chakras and chant incantations. So he exhaled, hot air pushing into the cold wind. The matter at hand was how he was going to go about finding their little problems. Black Heart Namekians that relied on stealth. The only way to track them down without sorcery was to understand what their goal was. Black Heart Namekians typically just tried to uproot civilization, but... These beings by the mayors descriptions had been a little less than confrontational, largely operating to... Hm. To steal equipment. That was the key. Snapping his fingers, the Namekian came to a conclusion. It might not be miraculous, but it was an idea? "How about we go in one of the shipments? If we do it well enough, chances are they'll take the shipment to wherever their sorcerers are to loot them for equipment for their hordes. Then we can break out and do what we have to do. Chances are we're going to be fighting stronger ones than last time, though." He said, particularly directed towards the Duchess. Whether or not the idea stuck with the rest of the group, it was his best and quickest idea. With more time he might be able to come up with something else, but anything immediate? He struggled to think of alternatives. He could hire a sorcerer to help, but chances were that'd take a few days, and every day that passes means more equipment, food and supplies were lost. The Emerald Isles would be starved for resources if they don't have access to trade, it was just a matter of time. "So. What does everyone think about that idea? It doesn't sound like we have a sorcerer on us, so we're not going to get the easy road to locking them down. Chances are if it does work, we'll be in the heart of their whole operation against the Emerald Isle. That could be a lot of creatures, and we'll be in their territory." It was true. Unpacking and distributing supplies meant they'd be in a decently important place, all things considered. He wasn't necessarily worried about himself as he was the others here, but... Well, he'd hear what they had to offer. Perhaps there was a better way to go forward. 516 | 5,385 Melody Loki Kurogane seungkyu

Bass’ suggestion of hiding inside the shipments was dangerous, anyone who crossed the northern sea never returned, and a cold sweat formed on her temple as her violet eyes met with the strange winged man in eastern land style clothing who lowered himself at her level. The Duchess’ immediate reaction to Seungryu’s invasion of her personal space was to punch him directly on the throat to distance herself from him. If there was anything she hated more about social interactions, was someone who failed to properly introduce themselves to her, especially after she divulged her own name first to cut through the expectations of proper etiquette.
“Did you hit your head so hard you forgot your manners?” Melody deadpanned, “Black Heart namekians are demons, similar to the ones that attacked you earlier that were taken care of by the town guards, and we are in the middle of a job. So if you wish to be paid, screw your head back on, and pay close attention to the plan.”
The greenette turned her heel towards Loki, “It seems you’re the only one familiar with sorcery, we’re going to depend on you to allocate the sorcerer for us, and the rest of the group will cut through the horde to clear a path straight for the root of the problem.”
Melody then turned to Himawari and Hotaru as she continued to address the group, “We will be outnumbered and being anywhere near enemy territory is a great risk to our lives. Bass can lead the charge, everyone else will prepare to flank, and the Bossa Nova samurai will secure the rear. Stay close, do not wander off, and together we will succeed. Are we all in agreement?”
Of course there was the matter of hiding among the supplies, suppressing their power level to zero, and being whisked away into enemy territory willingly. After a beat, she walked over to the Mayor to explain the plan, he was shocked at first, but he was willing to try anything at this point just for a reprieve. Mayor Hellebore informed the town guards to refrain themselves from aiding the group and were dismissed until after the enemy left the island with the loot.

The being of blue easily caught Loki’s attention. If anybody was thirsty for suggestions on how to begin the task, he was among them. From what he could tell, the plan was a sound one. His bestial visage crafted some variety of frown while his eyes widened. The casual expression that silently displayed his favour of it was accompanied by an affirmative, “hm!” Any prior knowledge about the dangers of making such a northerly trip was clearly absent in him. While his reaction was favourable, unseen by him, it was a source of mild anxiousness for others.
A mild intermission ensued in the form of an exchange between Melody and what appeared to be a rather aloof fellow. Following her stern words, abrasive, but warranted, Loki waved the stranger’s way. “Hey, yeah! You should stick around. There’s money in it for ya and we could definitely use the help.” The last part he was uncertain on since he was not sure of the capabilities of the others; but judging from the feel of any that were not shy about displaying the power that often bled from beings of their ilk, they were plenty capable.
Melody’s words were directed towards him. It was somewhat surprising, but the job he was presented with made a lot of sense to him. While he was not certain about the exact definition of sorcery, it did sound an awful lot like what he was taught to do recently. “Find ‘em, eh? Yeah, I can help with that,” he said with a confirming nod. If he were searching for those with a quaint, funny feeling to them, he could do that since he himself had that quaint energy as well. That and he was sure he had a technique that could aid him.
“Yeap!” Loki announced when he was asked if he, and the others, were in agreement. Hopeful that everybody was, all there was to do after that was comply with her request to suppress their energy. Loki likely placed more effort into it than most, ironically. It was just his way as his arm rose along with his flux of paw and hand. His index and middle fingers were paired together, sticking up skyward while his curled thumb rested overtop both his pinky and ring fingers, pressing them close to the hand’s palm. As his energy rapidly shrunk away, his hand was quickly balled into a fist as if to lock the energy where he had lowered it.
“Okay,” he said to himself as he reopened his eyes, having shut them at the beginning of the process. Loki was ready to follow along to their hiding place to-be. |444 ||6,209/14,000 | |PL:1 |

There were quite a few people speaking at once. On one side, there was the blue skinned individual dressed in military garb; he had a strange but time tested plan - at least, if one believed the old legends of the big wooden horse. How did that story go again? Hotaru remembered the story; it was one that his brother, Domyoji, told him once. There was a war going on between two nations, something to that effect, and one nation was losing quite badly to the other. So, they built a massive horse out of wood. The wooden horse was built atop a large platform with immense wheels so it could be pushed with ease. They then took that wooden horse to the gate of their enemy and they said that they were there to give them a gift, a peace offering. They wanted to surrender or, at least, temporarily do some kind of ceasefire.
The enemy took the horse into their walls, allowing it to pass through the highly fortified gates. The men that had brought the horse were allowed to enter, he didn't recall if they entered or if they left. Some parts of the story were a bit fuzzy to him.
What really mattered about the story were two things; one, the enemy loved the gift they were given. They threw a massive celebration. There was music and dancing and merriment. There was food and alcohol and women to be had by the men. They partied, they drank, they made merry. Everyone, by nightfall, was drunk, and or in a food coma from having eaten so much. Whether drunk or unable to move from eating, either way, they were incapacitated. The second thing was that the massive wooden horse, the gift that was given as a sign of peace, was a trap.
Inside the massive wooden horse, which was built hollow, was a small army of armed soldiers. They exited their wooden horse as soon as night fell and they cut down their enemy with great ease. The tides of battle changed instantly.
That was his plan? It sounded somewhat risky, but without risk there would be no reward.
The green haired woman, Melody, was having a bit of a disagreement with the, openly and almost ludicrously, rude man whom had crash landed into the isle.
Hotaru did not know his name; though from how he was behaving, he did not seem quite so sure that he wanted to know the man's name. He knew, for a fact, that if that man behaved like this in front of his sister, he would have not been able to get so close to her, as he had with Melody, without meeting the pommel of her blade; a quite forceful meeting to the side of the head knowing his elder sibling. Sakura did not suffer fools, and he was behaving very much like a fool now.
He did not even seem particularly interested in what they were doing or what they were discussing, mentioning something about finding a job and wandering away from the group nonchalantly.
"That one's a few cards short of a full deck..." Himawari commented with a sigh and then he peeked over at Hotaru, "The lovely lady gave us an order, suppress your power and let's hide among the supplies. And perhaps, when this is all over..." Himawari turned to face Melody, "Can we speak once this whole affair is finished? We were told to speak to you by a young man by the name of Echo? To speak with you about training to become a samurai and, in Hotaru's case, buke."

The girl’s punch was so swift, that he failed to notice it and thus connected directly with his throat causing him to lean back with his chin still raised up. There was strength to it, and he was sure she could knock him out, but for one reason or another, the girl held back; thus, the impact was not enough to throw him off the ground. Seungkyu chuckled as he recovered from her aggression, walking away until he heard her say that they were in the middle of a job. It was seconded by the fox, so he immediately went back to join the group. Seungkyu smiled with a smug grin, “A job, eh? Heh. Sounds good. Count me in!” Obviously, he was in dire need of zeni. Apart from his daily financial needs, he was also saving money for the repairs and renovations of his palace in the Eastern Lands. While he was aware that his village was practically dead, there was no other place on Earth he could call home, and he was still guilty for not being able to protect his territory. It would only make sense to go back and guard the place, perhaps he could meet people along his journey who would be willing to join him once he decided to go back. Who knows? So, those who attacked him were called Black Heart Namekians. Seungkyu stared at the blue humanoid in military uniform, he seemed to resemble some of those attackers, but it was obvious that the guy wasn’t hostile, and since he was also acquainted with the beautiful maiden who just punched him, the raven-haired demon concluded that the guy must definitely be an ally. Perhaps he just had a bad history against his own family then, or that they were too evil that the namekian decided to disown them. Hearing the blindfolded man's comment about him, Seungkyu glared in his direction, though there was no intent to start a fight. It was the last thing that should be done considering they were in the middle of a mission, and the sooner this operation finished, the better. The demon prince listened carefully to the plan, as Melody instructed the party to suppress their ki, he followed in a beat. Now, the question was, where to hide? Among the people in the group, the fox was the only one who seemed to be the most friendly, but as he glanced back at the greenette, he realized she was not an ordinary civilian, maybe she was a fellow noble. What if her clan demanded payment for his rudeness? He wasn’t prepared; in the first place, he had no army, much less a vassal, so the only sensible thing to do was to admit his mistake and apologize and hope for some kind of miracle that the noblewoman would forgive his rough attitude earlier. So, as everyone began to take their respective position, Seungkyu would follow the samurai girl instead, joining her as she looked for a place to hide, and speak, “Ya know, it’s been a while since I suffered from the touch of a fair maiden. Pardon my rudeness, Miss Melody. Eh.. I forgot my manners earlier as well,” he said in a gentle and apologetic tone, "It's been a while since I was in a deep sleep. Very well. I am Seungkyu, a demon prince from a small kingdom in the Eastern Lands. Pleased to meet you,” he bowed his head, with his arms raised while his fist touched with the palm of his left hand. It looks like his suggestion was less of one, and more of the idea proper considering how quickly it'd taken whole as the primary plan. There wasn't really anything faulty with the idea, the only questionable facet was the difficulty of the adversaries where they were going. Bass didn't worry much about himself, but as his eyes trailed from person to person, he did have some concerns. Though Melody said it well enough. So long as he was there with them, he could do his best to try and take the majority of the danger and protect them if it was absolutely necessary. He raised his voice. "Right, well, let's get situated then." He said as he started moving over to the cargo bay. Given it was an isle, most of their shipments landed on the beach from overseas. His team from earlier had also come that way, but they very much were armed and not so much a merchant vessel. They also didn't let their gear leave their sight for a moment, so that wasn't a problem. His approach was going to be simple enough. Seeing some boxes containing who knew what, he'd pop open the top of a particularly large storage bin, removing a handful of items to make room for himself before getting in. He'd reduce his Power Level as well, the signature going from what it normally was to absolutely nothing. If the rest of them did the same thing, they'd be all set to get the operation underway. They were already running out of time... So. In his own container he didn't know anything of what the others were doing at the moment. He was simply huddled up- uncomfortably so with his back bent at a painful angle. He wouldn't even know when the supplies were stolen, and in fact without reference of the outside world, if the others couldn't see their surroundings (if they were in containers themselves), save for a brief moments nausea there'd be no way to tell they'd been teleported away at all. In a matter of minutes, it happened. Whether or not the group noticed, they were now a good distance behind enemy lines. The voices of Black Heart Namekians talking- clearly a little more sentient than plenty of their compatriots filled the air. If someone in the group didn't realize they'd been moved, those voices might be the sign they needed. On the bright side, they would've been teleported to a supplying station where plenty of Emerald Isles freight had been teleported to for the purposes of supplying Black Heart Namekians with the equipment intended for the towns guard, in addition to food and other necessities. Not only could they stop the problem, but there was a good chance they could recover a significant amount of the equipment that hadn't been fully distributed to the armies yet.
As for Bass, he still quietly waited. His back was getting sore from being pretzeled in the crate, but a reprieve wouldn't be far away. Given they were just teleported, the sorcerers and the Black Heart Namekian Laborers had to unpack the fresh batch of goodies. Clammy mutant hands fidgeted with the lids of multiple crates. Things were about to kick off. Like a gunshot to sound the start of a race, as the container of Bass's lid was opened, a fist flew upwards- the most menacing jack in the box. A massive impact and a thunderous boom, and the grunt that'd been about to unpack the box had now blown a hole through the clouds above. He'd start peeling himself out of the crate, much to the chaos that was now beginning. 8,026 | 14,000 Melody Loki Kurogane seungkyu
