Yasu found himself continuing to wander the desert without any direction in mind as he always had since he started his journey. He understood little about his mother's family and where he might need to go to learn more so he decided to walk until he ran into the civilization. The problem was his little sister Yoi was lagging behind him about 20 feet away moaning, "Yasu, wait up."
This caused him to stop and stare at her with a puzzled look. He tilted his head to his right side and uttered, "Can't walk now?"
She nodded and he dashed over to her with a stride that covered eighteen feet in a single bound. To normal people it would have looked like an Olympic level dash, but this was now his "normal" running speed. Yoi's magic really altered his body in a way he could not describe. The next thing she knew he scooped her up bridal style and heard him whisper, "I don't hate you Yoi, but go home if you can't keep up with me. You likely have mom worried too even though we probably told her that we were both leaving."
She stuck her tongue out at him in response then pushed him away only to feel the side of his face press against her own face. He crouched into a ball on the ground, heard her giggle then insisted, "I'm carrying you sloth genie-beast creature."
Yoi nodded again and Yasu went back to walking while feeling her drooping tail brush back and forth across the legs of his pants. Yasu was strong, or Yoi felt he was to put up with her. She would have a lot to tell him later, but Yasu was not her first human contact. She would definitely need him in the future though because she did not have a spark of usable ki in her body.
"Yoi, what exactly are you?" Yasu asked as he began to pound his feet into sand and dash past boulders, cacti and critters.
"A genie, a helpless child, um, all the literal power battery for your life. Maybe not that, but your ki energy and the magical and telepathic abilities it has mixed together. If you lose those now you will die."
Yasu sighed, he understood that, but why was genie out in the desert? It was a new question for him that he hoped running into someone might answer. Right now, he simply decided to leave a dust trail behind him as he ran and matched the speed of a high end sports car.

As any seasoned traveler knew, the Eastern Lands were a region of magic and mystique. Vast forests filled with all sorts of critters stretched as far as the eye could see. In the distance, imposing, pointy mountains reached towards the heavens like a giant’s fingers. Sun filtered through the leaves. Winds danced between the tree trunks. Around here, keen eyes could spot all sorts of odd sights. Like... Say... A zombie in a tuxedo. No, it was not a hyperbole. Nor a heat stroke hallucination for that matter. In the middle of nowhere, a dapper ghoul was scraping its bony claws against the sand. After a moment, it groaned with what could be understood as the joy of success. A closer glance revealed it clutched something in its hands. Something dark, shiny... and angry. A surprisingly big scorpion was struggling furiously in its grip, pinching and stinging it. But, of course, a zombie felt no pain. With a dogged march, it started heading towards the edge of the desert. At the very edge of the region, where the dry wastelands met the lush forests, one could find something even stranger. Translucent, softly glowing shapes, only vaguely human, drifted busily around trees and stumps. They were also rather sharp-dressed, with suits, bowties and all. With single-minded focus, they gathered various plants and herbs into a big basket. Overseeing it all was a slender silhouette, sitting on... a floating broom? Getting closer, one would find a young lady. Her mauve hair framed a set of delicate and deathly pale features. Dressed in long, dark robes and donning a wide-brimmed hat, she seemed like something that had popped out of a story book. On her hat, and another on her belt, a golden, three-pronged seal proclaimed her heritage to all who were familiar with magic. A witch she most certainly was, though she may have seemed too young to be called wicked. Well... Looks were often deceiving... The witch leafed through a huge tome with a cover as dark as the midnight sky. One of the sharp-dressed spirit servants floated up to her with a leafy plant in tow. She glanced at the offering, then traced her finger across the large pages. After a moment of pondering, she clicked her tongue irritatedly. Her voice chimed in the air like a silver bell. Pure, clear and oh so very cold... “No, that is not it. Monkshood has a violet flower, not white. Are you blind as well as stupid? Back to work.” With a dismissive wave of hand, she shooed the servant away. Why was it so hard to summon decent help these days? Words: 440 | 440 Natural PL at start: 14,373 Tags: Yasu

The flat lands of the desert disappeared and a lush green forest sprung up from the land in front Yasu. He slid to a halt and set his sister Yoi down who then stood on her wobbly, trembling legs with a feeling of disgust. He bowed to her and uttered, "Sorry, I was in a hurry to leave the desert with you." All he got in response was a "Humph," before realizing she wanted him to leave. Yasu nodded to her one last time then pointed at the ground with his index finger. Yoi sat down while spreading her legs out to stop them from cramping. In the meantime, he trudged on to check the edge of the forest. He pushed aside branches and crawled through a gap in them to meet a small expanse of dead stumps. They must have died he realized as he licked his finger feeling the dry desert air run past it. He continued to plow along until he saw a grouping of fatter trees and stumps ahead he was willing to continue but froze in place when he noticed a plant floating in the distance next to someone with an enormous book. They were levitating on a pole, now unexpectedly a broom. "Um, I must have poor eyesight," he thought to himself while blinking. Yasu's legs trembled though he raised his arms and shouted, "Hey! Did you destroy the trees here or are you replanting them? Nothing grows here!" He jumped up and down hoping to garner attention from afar while praying it might be more than a mirage. He really loved the idea of it being human possibly out to reforest a dead area with directions to the nearest town. On the other hand, it could be a bird watcher too, but there were not many birds out here just dinosaurs, lizards, and foxes usually. They ate most of the other critters had his family scavenging for the last ten years if not running for their lives. Yasu at least did not sense danger yet. There were bandits out here too, but they always attacked when they saw you. Natural Power Level: 37 Word Count: 366/796 Tags: Lilith Nevermore

All of a sudden, Lilith’s afternoon of gathering and cataloguing spell components was rather rudely interrupted. It nearly made her drop the precious book. Grimacing with growing frustration, she shifted her attention towards the noise. Lovely. As if herding a bunch of dead fools wasn’t enough, now she had to deal with the worst animal of them all... A tourist. The witch focused her annoyed glare on the boy jumping down below. Gleaming like a crimson jewel, a single eye peeked from behind the concealing bangs. If looks could kill... She snapped the book shut sharply. “Watch your tone, peasant.” Her greeting held all the warmth of a winter storm. “You shall bow your head when addressing the heir of the Nevermore clan, or your insignificant life shall come to a quick and cold end.” In fact, she should’ve simply cursed him into an ice statue and be done with this nonsense. However... And she silently blamed a certain infernal red-head for this... Lately, she had grown soft... er. Slowly, the noblewoman drifted lower to get a better look of the annoying mortal. ...Oh, mortals. Plural. Someone else was in the area as well... She could sense it... Bah, no matter. Two or two hundred, all were beneath her. She had the displeasure of looking at a scrawny boy in what she could only describe as the honorary uniform of an uneducated country bumpkin... Honestly, she didn’t even bother to take in the superficial details beyond that. Rather, her piercing gaze stared deep beneath the surface, wondering if she saw the tiniest twinkle of magic just now... Stopping to float about a head higher than the stranger, Lilith continued chiding him for his clear lack of manners. “Furthermore, if you seek something from someone, such as answers, the proper decorum is to introduce yourself first.” Despite being several inches shorter than him, she still managed to look down on him. It was the advantage of belonging to the upper class. ...And having a flying broom certainly helped. Meanwhile, the ghostly servants paused their work. The bushes rustled and more dapper zombies emerged, clutching various venomous animals. Curiously they drew closer, circling around the stranger. He was surrounded from all sides... Time slowed for the high school trained young man. His brown eyes only caught a glimpse of hers beneath the straightened bangs, but he understood she was serious based on her commanding tone. His first instinct was to bow, as instructed, after hearing her. It was a bit clumsy, however, he managed to bend at the waist and tuck his arm beneath his chest just above his stomach as she chided him. His body froze though when he heard the shuffling feet of her comrades amidst the other half of her speech and stared at them with a poor smile. They pushed their way through the brush and surrounded him in tailored suits. “Those-those are zombies,” he gasped. He had never seen a zombie into tailored clothes. All the movies he managed to get from his mom when she traveled out to civilization showed them in torn garments, or heaven forbid, bare bone. He gulped then reached into his right pocket to pull out a coin, the old two-hundred-zeni coin he cherished. He held it up for her to see and calmly pointed at it with a new smile filling his face. “My name is Yasu, and this is an artifact from the desert next to us ma’am. I do not want to cause you any more trouble, but you would not happen to have information on where libraries, professors, or universities exist do you? I need to tell civilization about the first contact with magic! And, introduce them to a former genie named Yoi, now unexpectedly my so-called sister, and attached literally into my family tree.” He informed her of his past in hopes he might glean new knowledge in return. What he did not realize was that this coin was a proper conduit that leaked out his trifle magical power while also leading back to Yoi. It was a wire of energy so easy to follow Lilith could sneeze, blink, or take a nap and not have to worry about its existence. Yasu had no impressive cards to play at this meeting. He did not even comprehend he had just run into a witch. This was someone better to visit though for his problems than a stuffy human university. He was by no means a dolt, however, and surrounded as he was, it was likely time to take up the opportunity to run too. She might just say nothing after all and hurt him for stopping by. He stood up straight before swaying his neck side-to-side then attempted to leap over the nearest zombie in this circle. His bound extended eight feet into the air aiming for the zombie’s head so he might step over him to use him as a springboard to escape. He would then try to circle back to Yoi and hightail it to a different section of the wasteland. Finally, if he could, he would leave this blasted desert another way for parts unknown. The witch rolled her eyes when the tourist stuttered at the sight of her servants. “Thank you for that astounding insight, Sir Obvious.” Her dry comment was prickly with sarcasm. “They, alongside their spirit brethren, are my loyal butlers.” The zombies all groaned in agreement. Some of them adjusted their little bowties and brushed their disheveled hairs. Of course, they wanted to look presentable in spite of the current conditions. When Yasu introduced himself and his odd artifact, Lilith actually perked up slightly. She could feel the unmistakable traces of magic leaking from it. As always, her intuition had been correct. Furthermore, the boy’s words caught her curiosity. Judging by his babbling -and she did love to judge- he was not a tourist, but rather a scholar. ...Of some description. His attire was really misleading. But anyone who showed genuine interest in magical studies couldn’t be all bad. The noblewoman’s frigid attitude thawed ever so slightly. She considered his claims with a pondering hum. “Hm, you are a long way from civilization... In fact, the closest city with such amenities is Orange Star City.” She glanced towards the mountain range in the distance. “Which is several hundred miles further east.” Not exactly a walking distance, unless he was crazy. “Although, calling those muscle-headed martial artists civilized is giving them too much credit, if you ask-”Lilith’s words were cut short when Yasu suddenly rushed off. In her shock, she could only stare after him in disbelief. Several questions sprang immediately to mind. “Did... did he just run away? In the middle of my invaluable advice??” How rude! Her anger turned towards the servants who had failed her. “Why did none of you stop him???” The zombie who had been used as a springboard offered a careful groan in response. Her glare narrowed. “Tch, no, I did not 'have that'. What I have is servants to do such menial tasks for me.” She was surrounded by idiots... The witch closed her eyes and focused her supernatural senses. “Hmph, no matter...” Following the trail was child’s play to her. It didn’t take a detective to figure out where the boy was going, based on the trail of magic connecting him to a certain spot. That was most definitely the location of his sister... Gathering her focus, she uttered an incantation. “Through time and space in a single step... Teleport.” In a flash of magic, she vanished into thin air. With another magical twinkle, the noblewoman appeared right beside the young girl. She floated between the boy and his sister, blocking his path. Staring him down with that chilling glare, she voiced her icy disappointment. “It is rather rude to leave in the middle of a conversation.” This was what she got for being cordial with peasants. Hmph, well, she wouldn’t be making that mistake twice... “Now, are you going to behave yourself and answer my questions in turn?” She brandished her magic wand and aimed it at the boy. “Or are you going to continue trying my patience?”Words: 506 | 1316 Natural PL at start: 14,373 Tags: Yasu

Under normal circumstances, Yasu would speak his mind, but with a wand pointed at his head, he stopped running and shut up. His sister gritted her teeth at him as she stood next to his new friend while a low growl escaped her lips. It ended up aimed at him and not the new woman who surprised them both by presenting herself with such a sparkling personality when she arrived. Glittering energy had fallen to the wayside only to disappear when she dropped in on them out of nowhere, so she had not chased him with normal methods he realized. His legs were going to break if he tried to outrun her again since they could not outpace traveling through thin air. Then he heard his heart pounded for the first in a long time, thus making him confident she was much stronger than he was and ready to rough him up. He only felt this way when he felt the reaper hanging over him, the signal of his demise. The pause was not good for his mind. He needed to speak and express his thoughts, but how could he come out and say, “Oh, I ran away to test the possibility of you being a dangerous bandit, menace or threat.” It would cause the situation to pancake into an even worse disaster, and frankly, she did not take his stunt well it appeared. He remembered catching phrases from what his contact had said prior to his escape attempt to here. He slowly pieced together the words, “Yes, I can be a good boy, but… ‘Orange city artists are civilized, but they are muscle heads who manage amenities with terrible credit. Do not trust them when you visit the city,’ that’s what you said before yes?” He raised his hands in case he was wrong only to see Yoi roll her golden eyes at the boy. “Shut up,” she voiced sternly at him despite being next to his killer, “you played cat and mouse again with a complete stranger who seems assured to hurt us when I gave you those powers of yours not to tick the universe's people off. They are for survival dolt.” She did not care if she was next to a threat as with no power of her own anyone could snap her in two, unlike Yasu usually. Yasu, frowned, then stared intently at Lilith before raising both hands in surrender and explaining at length, “Sorry, I did not hear half of what you said prior to now, Floating Broom Miss, I do not know your name but you have just witnessed my ‘Come meet Yoi game’. I sometimes play it with people if I think they can handle the garbled goo of a story that is my life. You know I have a magic coin, a sister named Yoi, and that she is genie. Simply put she is next to you now, does not like to meet with people on her own, and is turning me into her personal food dish via what may well be a curse. And hopefully, something you may understand since you have the same super powers I do as you did not run from them.” His mother always thought she was trading this genie for superhuman abilities, so that is what he dubbed them oftentimes. He added as a final note, “She intended to make herself completely human for some reason ten years ago when I touched that coin; however, I am stuck in my current fiasco. That is to say, where she may not be a complete human and I… may be ending up as less than one.” Natural Power Level: 37 Word Count: 610/1898 Tags: Lilith Nevermore

When the skittish boy tried -and failed- to piece the right words together, the witch gave him a flat stare. “It is rather amazing how you managed to get every detail wrong, yet still reached the correct conclusion...” Martial artists were not to be trusted, period. Since he admitted that fact, she was willing to overlook the rest of his bumbling. For now... Much to the noblewoman’s surprise, the little girl actually stole the words right out of her mouth. She cast an idle glance towards the child, before returning her attention onto the boy. “I see you two share a single brain cell. And clearly it is her turn to use it.” That was the closest thing to a compliment one could expect from her. If nothing else, she recognized Yoi was the smarter one of the strange duo. Lilith’s eye twitched when the boy dared to disrespect her yet again. “That is Lady Nevermore to you, peasant.” She snapped back immediately, like a practiced reflex. Tch, he really was an ignorant hayseed. Still, she let him continue with his explanation. It was the mentions of magic, a genie and a curse that retained her attention. Clearly there was some manner of fascinating phenomenon at work here. A type of magical life-link? Or an involuntary enthrallment, perhaps? So many possibilities... Once the traveler finished his tale, the wicked witch voiced an ominous comment. “Firstly, let us clarify one thing here...” There was a chill in the air... An unnatural shiver that traced its cold claws down one’s spine. And it wasn’t just imagination. Temperature started dropping. Breaths began condensing into white mist. Beneath her, a ring of frost formed and slowly crept outwards in the shape of a snowflake. “If I wanted to hurt either of you...” Her eyes narrowed and tone darkened. “I would have done so already.” She left the grim threat hanging in the air for a moment, to drive the point home. After a brief pause, the frigid woman withdrew her magic and allowed the warmth of the sun to seep into the scene again. “I am still tempted, mind you, so do not push your luck.” Honestly, she should have just frozen him and pried that coin from his carcass... But then her research on the artifact would end up incomplete. No, that would absolutely not do. Brushing the death threats aside for the time being, the witch continued to set the record straight. “Secondly, your so-called super powers are nothing like mine.” How pretentious of him to even compare himself to her. Hmph! “I wield the highest, most sophisticated forms of magic, while you employ yours in the service of... jogging...” Holding her head high, she puffed her petite chest proudly. “I am the heir of the world’s most feared witch clan. You are barely an amateur magus.” The fact that they were pretty close to the same age didn’t stop her from acting like he was a mere child. Lilith clicked her fingers and the thick, midnight black tome appeared before her. The pages fluttered open like they were alive. Returning the wand to the sash by her hip, she summoned a quill into her grasp. “Show me the coin.” She demanded coldly. The fluttering pages finally stopped on an empty spread. She started jotting her thoughts down. Even without any ink, the text appeared on the pages. “Tell me about this curse you mentioned. How does it manifest?” Her crimson eye cast an inquisitive glance at the genie girl as well. “And you, child...” She took note of the magic tied to her, trying to categorize it properly. “Why would you try to cast aside your magical heritage, hm?”Words: 618 | 1934 Natural PL at start: 14,373 Tags: Yasu

The problem with meeting new people is often the situation is so traumatic for some people that they have have no desire to stay. Yasu felt this way as he faced the witch Lilith and bowed his entire body towards her overwhelming presence. He crouched on the ground then steadied himself on one knee in hopes that he would appear noble or reverent to her, even as she threatened to freeze him while pointing her wand at him. He understood he was a dolt and a single celled organism, but that did not stop him from wanting to fix this situation as a chill from her frosty breath reached his neck. He brandished the coin before her as her warning rang clear in his ears and pressed it towards her visive, prideful self. He had to admit though, when Lilith pushed her chest out to look bigger, she actually looked less threatening. It was a bit of a weakness in his eyes. He smiled and said though, "Please understand my world world is simple Lady Nevermore. If I like to jog I do it for a reason, or if I am afflicted with a curse there is a reason. My jogging is clearly different from magic as it is a physical activity, but who says a wizard or magic user in general cannot do some for themselves? I mean, those who cannot run get caught in the act, like I am, and punished if they cannot escape. I have no other means to run after all." At this point, she lowered her wand preceding to call upon her book of spells. Her magic commands the pages turn and she demands his treasure for inspection. For him, it is a simple task to press it forward for her to grab. The question of his curse works rises from her lips and he answers, "It is very easy to understand. My sister Yoi bites the hand that feeds her, takes my life force, and then I suppose I gain her former abilities." He slides his sleeves down on his jacket to reveal fang marks left by Yoi on his wrists. He had some other places she bit him too, however, Yasu healed quickly enough that it left no lasting scars. Yoi shrugged at the handiwork while licking her lips then she turned towards Lilith to espouse, "I cannot eat his energy, except in this manner, you see because brother cannot even create a ball of magical energy to toss around. The only thing he can do is look threatening with his magical powers unsuppressed, run around with an abnormal level of human skill and mitigate damage." Yoi's stomach growled and she quickly added, "I may be a ravenous glutton, but this former genie uses a 1:1 ratio deal of one bit of life force for some of my own magic. It's a good deal because I usually just make myself a servant to another person at a steep price 100:1." "What little I know is that, she literally made herself into a guardian spirit for them, let them fight how they pleased and then allowed them to collapse in about ten to twenty years time. Something she decided to do because of the demon incursions or some such other nonsense way back when." Yasu added. "I guess it means they died rather fast in comparison to me." Yoi giggled then with a final cheeky smile and brightening eyes said to Lilith, "I gave him a deal that's too good for any human. He may eventually end up living longer then they should and I will get the enjoyment of a full human life. I do not want to go into the details, but everyone traveling out here used to come and tap into their own personal energies two hundred years ago. I just provided a short cut for that more-or-less that left them ravaged for life to protect them from the vile scum Yasu mentioned. "I only hope that answers most of the questions you have," Yasu interjected, "because I told you my life is weird." Natural Power Level: 37 Word Count: 689/2587 Tags: Lilith Nevermore

Upon being offered the coin, the haughty noblewoman snatched it without a word of gratitude. She turned it in her grasp, studying it from all sides. Her crimson gaze lit up with a baleful glow, as she peered even further... Where naked eye couldn’t see... Simultaneously, she picked the important details out of the explanations. The general effects, the limitations, the connection between the boy and the genie... Every important finding was carefully noted down on the pages. She even sketched a picture of the small artifact. Her attention to detail was meticulous. Once the sketch was complete, the witch lifted the coin and admired its shine against the sun. “A fascinating, little trinket...” After a pause, she brought it back down. “But a trinket nonetheless.” She had nearly sullied her hands in order to get this thing. Her piercing gaze shifted back onto the groveling boy. “And to think you almost died for this measly trifle. How droll.” She flicked the coin back to him. ...Right at his face, to be precise. Whether or not he actually caught it was none of her concern. Still mulling over the information, the researcher ran the tip of the quill along the filled pages. “So your contract is a vampiric pact then... Or a type of meta-magical symbiosis if you insist, with that coin acting as the binding conduit.” She had spent quite a lot of time studying an ancient spell of similar kind called Demon Mark. Namely, both allowed the transfer of power and abilities between two souls. Still, there were at least as many differences as there were similarities, to set them apart. Lilith lifted her eyes from the book and briefly glanced between the strange duo. A guardian spirit... And a human feeding her... Honestly, she still wasn’t quite sure which of them was actually the master and which the servant. ...Oh well, it really didn’t matter. She focused her attention onto the boy with a supposedly weird life. He had answered her questions, yes, but... “Hm, almost. I do have one more.” When it came to magic, her curiosity was boundless, but she wasn’t going to spend her entire day studying a single curio. The witch cocked her head inquisitively. “Earlier, you babbled some nonsense about libraries, professors and whatnot.” To be completely honest, she hadn’t been listening all that closely. However, one detail still puzzled her. “Let us, for a moment, entertain the idea that you actually reach the closest city... What then?” By his own admission, he was a boy living in a simple world. So what made him want to broaden it now? “What do you seek to accomplish?” It was merely idle curiosity, she silently assured herself. If he was just another adventurer seeking fame and glory, then she had nothing more to share with him. But... In the unlikely event that he actually was a fellow scholar of magic... The coin hurtled towards Yasu's head after Lilith finished her in-depth analysis. He only caught it though in both hands the moment it collided with his forehead and dropped into them. Rising to his feet, he placed it in the fold of his jacket and smirked as she posed her lingering question. His index finger on his left hand pointed into the air and he loudly espoused, "I will go the professors, I will tell them I am a mage, I will have them criticize me, and then I will go find my possible family members to prove them wrong! Afterwards, I am going to capture them all, demand the police imprison us and hope they can hold us forever!" He let a loud laugh escape his body and arched his back into the air to stare at the sky. "All mages are are evil! This is based on every bit of literature, tv show, or movie my mother ever let me see! Therefore, I am a threat to society!" Unfortunately, the boy had yet to learn he might have been thrown a lot of bias so that perhaps his mother or others might gain something in return. Yasu was smart, but when it came to his own safety or well-being it seemed he tossed it aside for society's 'supposed' welfare. His neck and back shifted to their normal posture and his head creased with furrows as he stared at Lilith. "Milady, you are a witch, but seeing as you have not scared me nor anyone else I know my judgement should not matter to you. If you feel this plan is stupid come blast a hole in my prison if you wish! I will gladly run free again!" In the background, Yoi slid behind Lilith and bristled as she whispered, "Please hit him then take me with you. I was fine going along with his plan just to find his family and confront them, however, this really is the extent of his plan so far. I am not as stupid as I appear. Just really prone to anger when not fed well." Her tail wagged with excitement as she hoped a real witch might employ her. It was a slim opportunity but her brother needed to rethink his life plans. His plan was like someone demanding they be a superstar without putting the effort into it. Natural Power Level: 37 Word Count: 397/2984 Tags: Lilith Nevermore

Within mere seconds, Lilith found herself regretting the question. From the moment the boy pointed his finger to the sky to make a dramatic declaration, she realized this had been a terrible mistake. Oh. He was one of those types. Lovely... Her visible eye twitched. She closed her eyes, pinched the bridge of her nose and exhaled deeply. Deep breaths... Were doing nothing! Trying to tune him out wasn’t working either. He was much too loud to be ignored. Once the volume finally returned to somewhat bearable levels, the witch let out an exasperated sigh. She wasn’t sure which annoyed her more... His bombastic speech... Or the fact that she actually agreed with certain parts. “Much like a blind chicken finds a piece of corn every now and then... You too, in your insane ramblings, managed to get two things right.” She opened her eyes, shooting him a frigid glare. “Your judgment indeed matters not to me. And your plan is stupid. Incredibly stupid.” Her dry tone was as blunt as getting whacked with a rolled-up newspaper. The genie’s sly whisper was regarded with similar warmth. ...So none at all. “Do not flatter yourself, genie. You are no different from him.” Floating back a little, the noblewoman allowed her gaze to drift between the two. Her eyes idly traced the magical thread connecting them. “You made a careless wish and now regret the results. The irony is rich.” She had always imagined that a genie, of all creatures, would know to be careful what they wished for. Evidently not. Lilith snapped the large tome shut and dismissed it in a twinkling puff of magic. “Two cowards afraid to face reality... Truly you are perfect for each other.” She had no intention of letting either one serve under her. For one, they were still alive, which was just a loyalty issue waiting to happen. That easily fixable minor detail aside, she wasn’t going to waste her time on an ignorant country bumpkin who openly slandered magic. Not all mages or witches were evil. ...Well, she was, but that was beside the point. Looking down on the boy, the noblewoman found a haughty, little smile. “So go right ahead... Throw away your potential. Waste the rest of your miserable life rotting in some godforsaken dungeon.” Said smile quickly died on her lips. Her tone grew cold and grim. “In the end, you will die as you lived... Running away.” She had no patience for pathetic fools who were unwilling to wield power. "She's so wrong!" Yasu thought to himself as he ended up chastised for his words. He watched her bluntly ignore him and proceed to give Yoi a warning of some sort too. He folded his arms and when Lilith outright called him a coward stated, "Humanity hates the unknown you know. As a fellow human, it's best you realize to fall in line soon before our brethren come walking out into the wilderness to hunt us down. Inhuman abilities whether it be magic, psychic powers, etc. probably don't fly with all of them, in spite of what you said. I will find them myself and imprison them if they need to be, but let you go as people like my own family come first, and I could not deal with you right now." He turned away from her and sauntered off. Yoi soon followed and stuck her tongue out at Lilith shouting, "I would have loved to have been friends! Yet if you're unable to try harder to convince this idiot to change maybe his advice is good to remember. 'Your fellow humans can be dangerous!'" She was more ticked off that she had not pulled her away from her dolt of a brother. Imprisoning himself and others to keep the world safe did not work well in this age, especially if they had the sort of evil vibes Lilith gave off. He was too stupid to see that he had just chatted with a possible villain. Natural Power Level: 37 Word Count: 247/3231 Tags: Lilith Nevermore OOC: I feel like ending the thread here if you want to.

Lilith watched with waning interest, as the children tried to argue in favor of their laughable plans. She had nothing more to say to them. ...So she simply scoffed, when the boy dared to compare her to a mere human. The nerve... Hmph, no, she refused to even dignify that with an answer. It was clear the stubborn boy wasn’t going to listen anyway. Oh well... It mattered not... As the genie stormed off as well, the wicked witch allowed herself a small, bemused smile. These two... were preaching to the choir. She knew all too well how dangerous humans could be, when they put their tiny, simple minds into it. Some wanted to kill you... Others wanted to befriend and understand you with all their heart. Of the two, the latter was far more insidious, in her opinion. Those people crept into your life without a warning... And once they were in, you had no idea what to make of them... Truly troublesome. Once the odd duo was out of earshot, the noblewoman shook her head. An idle mutter escaped her lips. “Friends... How ridiculous...” Brushing the thought aside, she directed her broom back to the sky. Like the wind, she zipped over to the clearing, where her loyal servants still labored tirelessly. Right then. As amusing -and infuriating- as this little diversion had been, it was time to get back to work. All those herbs would not catalogue themselves. Her trip across the distant lands had only begun.
