The port town of Lumina was famous for its shipwrights, creating vessels for the sea since the dawn of history, and in the effort for Piccolo Daimao to regain total control of the mainland it was constantly raided by Namekians. In a calculative joint effort by the Pig Demon Duchies, several village leaders of the western lands banded together to push back the invasions starting with the Northern lands and eventually sweeping across the central land coastal border in the near future. With their cooperative initiative, the world government, and allied factions would be able to regain control of the northern islands presently occupied by a horde of namekians over the past four hundred years.
Among the first Duchies to arrive to aid the port was Duchess Melody of Truffle Village, Bossa Nova clan of samurai, and recently appointed Baron Merlot of Grape Vine Village.
Melody’s twin sons, Echo Bossa Nova was heir apparent to the Bossa Nova clan, while his twin brother Note Bossa Nova was heir of Truffle village. Due to their demonic origins, the chronologically two year old twins were physically aged ten, their natural ability to control ki allowed their bodies to grow substantially along with their powers. Among the vassals present were Melody’s younger fraternal twin siblings, Cadence and Canon, who were inseparable of Echo as guardians.
Everything was quiet, as the duchies remained hidden in different areas of the port, the stillness was unnerving to the locals but the raid was to be expected. It was high noon, everyone was dispatched in key positions of the town, lying in wait for the Namekian horde that constantly threatened the people and the future of territory control among the earthlings.
Echo was inside the attic of a stone house, nearest the primary pier of the port town, his aunt and uncle were right behind him as they stared intently through a small glass window suppressing their power level to remain hidden from the strategic assault.
In the distance, he sensed a familiar ki signature, of his childhood friend and ally Baroness Chardonnay. It was not part of the plan to include her, since it was specifically requested by Baron Merlot, and she was about to blow everyone’s cover if she did not suppress her power level further to a common villager.

Zaru had been walking for weeks now, his feet beating sand in the south and through the more frigid temperatures of the North. He'd come not because he wanted to see the Northlands, or anything like that. He'd spent so long now hidden away in the Southlands, just training and preparing himself, knowing that there was something special coming up, at least for someone like him. He had wanted to just wait for the World Martial Arts Tournament before he fought again, trying to hold back something in him, that part of him that craved more chances to prove himself, more combat, more opportunities to beat the shit out of people who deserved it, or who had at least crossed him. It was selfish, in a way. How many more people were hurt because he wasn't doing his usual, wandering around and interfering?
He was wearing a rice hat and the black and white robes he always did, his power level suppressed down for now to that of a regular person. He'd heard of what was going on up here, had heard it for a long time. Killing a demon lord, even down in the Southlands, gave someone a reputation, and that meant people came to you about problems. Zaru knew he should never have had a permanent address, even if the fortress he had was comfortable and spacious.
Weirdly enough, the town itself seemed pretty peaceful, for right now. People seemed a little unnerved, but he quickly got an idea of why - the place was quieter than even the homeliest of little villages, like the calm before a storm. He decided not to make a big deal of it, and to just blend in for now. The energy within him was calm, and for once, he'd try to be the same. He found a bench and sat down, simply watching and waiting. He wondered if it was possible to get through all this while making sure he avoided any of the Crane. Dealing with them was just about the last thing he needed; he'd prefer to talk with the demons.
Zaru crossed his arms and leaned back on the bench, settling in and just looking like any other human layabout, not bothered about the fact he was napping in the sun. For now, anyway. He kept his energy under firm control, even as its flow desperately wanted to be free, to move him about his body with reckless abandon. He reassured himself that it wouldn't be long now.

Much as the duchess had promised, she took Chardonnay and her vassal to the northern sea border, using her large paint brush as the means of their transportation like a flying broomstick. It was the baroness’ first time being this high up in the sky, that she could see a bird’s eye view of the scenic landscapes below, and the waves in the sea looked still as if they forgot to hit the shores. Sakuya the demon, was as astonished as her master, wide eyed as they enjoyed the view, and the salty sea breeze washed both of the girls' anxiety of wanting to reunite with their family, before the atmosphere turned serious, when the older demon warned them to suppress their ki as soon as they landed at the port town of Lumina. The trees, the buildings, the ships grew larger in view, and the local townspeople suddenly increased in number, the waves went back crashing the shores and the docks. They finally reached their destination. As soon as they got off their make-shift flying nimbus, the baroness hurried to the area while her vassal followed along. The place was eerily quiet, as if something is about to happen at any given moment. Despite the busyness of the town, the little girl felt that something was amiss. When everyone in the immediate surroundings fixed their eyes on them, Chardonnay stopped her tracks, and started walking slowly, carefully scanning the area to look for her brother and the twins. Their suppressed ki signature was making it hard for her to sense them, wary of her surroundings, and with a worried look on her face, she stopped by a stone house near the primary pier. Perhaps, it would be safer this way, to stay in just one place. Any moment now, Echo would come for her to save her, for sure. [311][1,116/14000] Echo Zaru Bass

The reign of Piccolo Daimao, and the hordes that threatened to snuff out life where it went rested on the Namekians mind often. Was there more he could do in a logistical war spanning multiple towns and cities? On a scale that large, effectively counter-acting the Namekian swarm was unlikely. He hated the fact even more so that it was 'Namekian' in nature. He knew Piccolo regularly created Black Hearted Namekians that became part of the Demon Clan, but for the other clans of Namekians to join in disgusted Bass. Something strange must've happened to coerce a peaceful people into becoming as bad as Barbarians, it was pure insanity. What hadn't crossed his mind until recently was actually just getting his boots on the ground somewhere to see what happened regularly with his own two eyes. Personal experience can substitute for a whole lot of hearsay with significantly more accuracy, and that became apparent to the Namekian when he'd brought the subject up at Capsule Corp in West City. Furthermore, while his assistance as a single man wouldn't drastically flip the tides of war, it would save lives. He should feel great about being altruistic, but often the kindest things were the most opposite of the evil feelings he harbored inside of him- he didn't have the luxury of feeling gratified, he just knew logically it was the only way forward. He also knew his people had thrown away their honor out of fear- something he did not thing they would do. He wasn't all that familiar with suppressing his ki signature, but knowing what he knew about Namekians he thought it might be for the best. He hated trying to managed a small ki with how large his power signature was- he didn't know what constipation felt like, but it sure did feel uncomfortable to withhold so much ki from being released. He usually just let ki build and flow out, it was a highway that was always open. He probably couldn't do it for all that long either before he started to feel sick, but if there was any possible way to ease peoples minds that could sense such things in the area as well as confront Namekians, that was it. Swooping in low, he'd enter the town. He'd completely overlooked the fact that not only did he appear to look like a Namekian, but even worse he resembled the infamous terrorizing forces of the Demon Clan. Of course, while he liked to think his chiselled jaw and not so reptilian body was a win in terms of the genetic chaos those creatures go through, he still fit the bill of being off-Namekian enough to warrant a radical response. Though in the air and by himself, perhaps it gave him a little bit of merit. Though unlikely, more possible was that he looked like a scout until he actually touched down on the ground. The town was eerily quiet, and truth be told felt no familiar ki signatures. All he did feel was a lot of normal people- the suppressed power levels of multiple advanced fighters being entirely missed due to his unfamiliarness with the people in question. Walking towards someone, he'd notice when they caught sight of them they hurried off into an alleyway. That was about the time he noticed he must've definitely resembled their attackers. " Ugh... Come on." He grumbled, rubbing his temple whilst pinching the bridge of his nose. 575 | 1,691 Echo Zaru Chardonnay

Echo raised his shoulders as the Baroness came into view at the wooden pier but his focus quickly shifted towards the town as villagers immediately dispersed in hysteria at the sight of a blue namekian in a business suit? How odd. Nonetheless they were hired by the Commerce Guild to clear out the Namekian raiders and that was exactly what they were waiting for. Opening a hatch from the roof, the strawberry blonde boy flew out, he landed next to his childhood friend.
“Do not cast your gaze down, always look the enemy in the eye, and never allow fear cause your heart to waver.” Echo said to Chardonnay, signaling for her to follow, soon enough his twin brother Note, and Baron Merlot released their power levels to surround Bass.
All of the white okami masked children were wearing black uniforms which symbolized they were still students, otherwise known as buke samurai in training, from a Ducal shared Martial Arts Academy in Oolong City. Their clan robes were worn over the uniform, which were distinct representations of their lineage among the Pig Demon Duchies and they all drew out their swords without hesitation upon the new arrival.
While the students appeared to be ten years old in age, the Bossa Nova twins utilized giant form to transform into teenagers in a blink of an eye, since harnessing this high level technique from their demonic bloodline aged them further.
Melody knew the difference between a Black Heart Namekian and Bass but she never expected the salaryman to make an appearance at such a critical moment. With a new ally, they would be able to get rid of the black heart namekian raid in a single bound. Of course, her twin sons had no idea what Bass looked like, so they never made the connection at this point with their first meeting since it had been over two years.
The Duchess was in command of the tactical assault operation, so she quickly took flight to land between the samurai-in-training, and the suited up Namekian to prevent a conflict.
“Hold!” Melody waved her free hand while the other gripped the hilt of her sword, “The idiom of do not judge a book by its cover need not apply here. Consider the body language at least, then you will know that he is not our target, isn’t that right Bass-kun? It’s been a while. Still wearing suits, I see.”
Right on schedule, the black heart namekians approached the port by collectively flying in the air, the winged demons forced the port town villagers to hide in their homes, and a swarm of ant-like winged insects began to scour the place. Like termites, they began to chew on barrels, and consume the contents left on the decks of ships. The economy of this port town was in shatters under the oppression of constant raids, the northern islands were far too close to the mainland, so it was easy for the Black heart namekians to feed their pets.
The port was now a ghost town, Echo’s violet eyes noticed a man wearing a white gi, and a rice hat leaning against a bench. It was a dead give away that he was here for a fight, it was a question of who his primary target was, and since he was not seeking any refuge it was apparent the stranger was strong enough to stick around. Zaru wondered for a moment if the Namekian figure he saw was one of those raiders he was expecting, at least before he saw how he was dressed. It reminded him of Macad, or anyone else in Central City. Businessmen, gangsters, entertainers, so many people had that style of dress, but the last place he'd ever see it was on a raider, especially one about to carry out business. Nevermind the fact that the guy looked about as close to a 'normal' Namekian as one could get without being green. In truth, the main exposure that Zaru had to Namekians, true Namekians rather than the Demons and the twisted mutants who terrorised the dunes, was back on the Islands. Fishermen, farmers, chefs and people of good reputation. Well, at least, the kind of reputation that was real, rather than something people just spewed.
He looked bored, sitting there in his rice hat and choosing to relax on the bench rather than get up into any kind of stance, even as what looked like children, or really short samurai, started surrounding the Namekian. There was a moment where Zaru lifted the rim of the hat, giving him full vision on them and staring, his blue eyes seemingly locked on and waiting to see who made a move first. Thankfully, it was neither, as a third party jumped in, calming tensions. He couldn't help but feel a little out of place, considering he didn't know anyone, and wasn't sure if he was gonna stick around long enough to anyway, after the fight was over. His eyes stared from under the hat back at Echo's, and there was a moment where he wondered who the boy was, why he was here. How tough did they grow them out here that kids were defending villages?
Almost to answer his question, the shadows of the blackheart Namekians swooped over, their beating wings moving through the wind with a malicious grace. Zaru stood up and sighed, taking off his rice hat and placing it down on the bench. A moment later, he saw a swarm of those ant-like creatures flying towards him, or at least tiny versions of them, though whether they wanted him or the bench, he had no idea. Zaru instinctively whipped his fist upwards, the back of it just barely making contact with the front insect. Energy burst from it and travelled up through the others, causing them to pop like tiny ballons and ending the small swarm there and then.
Zaru's eyes wandered up to the black-hearted Namekians, waiting to see what their move was, or if they were simply going to try and fly overhead. Either way, he was going to be one of the ones to put a stop to it. He'd just been expecting assistance that was a little older, was all.

From a distance, Chardonnay caught sight of a blue namekian in a business suit, unlike Merlot or any allies within the vicinity, the man did not suppress his energy which made the girl feel intimidated, fear had slowly overtaken her whole being. Unsure whether he was an ally or not, the baroness looked down, trying to keep herself and Sakuya hidden from his sight. Unable to move a single part of her body, she quietly hoped that the busybodies walking round and about the port were enough to cover for them. Closed eyes, almost in tears; fist clenched and trembling as she kept her position. Her vassal held her hand for comfort, which somehow eased the tension she was feeling. It was exactly at this point that Echo appeared, the little girl's heart skipped a beat at first, as she heard the rustling and placed her hands on her mouth to keep herself from screaming. Apparently, the strawberry blonde was hiding in the attic of the stone house where the two girls decided to stop by. Chardonnay’s eyes widened in surprise, a glimmer of hope was evident in her cyan irises. When Echo signaled them to follow, she and the little demon followed in a beat, and everyone including Note and Merlot surrounded the supposed enemy. The baroness put up a strong face, despite her anxiety creeping in, not knowing what would happen next. Before they could make an attack however, Melody called to hold their position and later revealed that the blue namekian was an ally after all. That information somehow eased the worry throbbing in her heart, sighing a relief that they were not faced with immediate danger as she first thought. Echo shifted his attention to another man, this time to a guy wearing a straw hat sitting on a bench beside a nearby tree. The silent confrontation was halted when the black heart namekians arrived. The peace she felt earlier did not linger as much as she wished as it suddenly faded away as soon as the town’s people scrambled to evacuate. This should not be the time to cower, Chardonnay reminded herself why she made a resolve to be strong and fight alongside her brother-- to protect their community, the innocent people who had been and continued to be victims of the long-aged war. "What's the plan, Echo? I would like to fight alongside you and my brother. I have decided to become strong so we could protect our people. Even if the situation looks bleak, I won't back down."

Standing there as he was biding his own time, the Namekian simply glanced at his watch every couple of seconds. He was quiet, and while it was unfortunate people seemed to mistake him for the real deal, he was admittedly curious as to what kind of defenses they had. If he could be reassured that what they had would be enough to defend themselves with, than perhaps he could fully work on a sustainable plan instead of getting thrown into the thick of things. Of course, it wouldn't be quite so simple as the Namekian thought; he had a habit of oversimplfying things and getting them done with a bullheaded stubbornness. Then out of the word works came a swarm of... Kids. Bass was a good guy, but the sheer fact that children were defending a settlement from the corrupted versions of his people conjured an expression of his face reminiscent of disgust. Nevermind the fact that some of them looked plausibly like teenagers, kids shouldn't be on the battlefield. They should only be training in a safe place until they've at least gotten the chance to live out their childhood. He honestly looked a little villainous with that face he had, where in reality he was just disturbed that this was the Northern Lands line of defense. Bass was only a kid for well... Twenty seconds or so, but semantics. He was in his twenties now, so it all checked out. He'd be about to speak when a very familiar voice caught his attention. He was equal parts excited at the prospect of seeing someone again that he hadn't talked to in a long time, and pissed that it seemed she had something to do with bringing kids to a warzone. It only really took an adjustment of where he was looking- to stare towards her that signified those feelings at least plausibly through the look in his eyes and his body language. Yet, they wouldn't have had to be here if the people could defend themselves, or someone else was fighting. He doubted they wanted to throw kids- or trainees into actual battle, he thought he knew Melody well enough to know that, so he relaxed. " It's been a long time Melody, I wasn't sure if you were still alive." He said, before continuing. " And of course, I have to fit these things in between work hours, so I'm usually going around in it. Weekends, well, that can be different sometimes." He'd say, providing a slight smirk given the circumstances. However he wouldn't have that long to catch up, seeing the raid beginning. It only took one look from a proper Black Heart Namekian- a creature that is still recognizably related to Namekians, to point up towards them and say. " Those ain't Namekians." Maybe they were, but the ones he worked with were... Humanoid, even. These things were just genetically modified bugs as far as he could tell, they even acted just like them. Hm. Bass looked like he was thinking. " Mmm... No, don't see any Humanity in them. Let's get started." And with a thunderous burst of speed he'd appear in front of one of the 'Black Heart Namekians', fist poised in front of it. There wasn't even a chance for the creature to let out a shriek as it was mistified into a haze of greenish brown blood-gas. Bass rose to the occasion, a serious problem required a serious response. He'd shout, calling back. " Any tricks I should keep in mind?!" Before looking to the battlefield that they'd be fighting on together. Even if each opponent- or most weren't much of a challenge to him, he couldn't afford to get overly confident. He didn't know if they'd have a ranking structure and have more powerful raiders, or if their numbers were greater than he'd anticipated. There was a reason those kids were all suppressing their power levels. Damn, those brats could do more than even he could there. He just... Always hated the idea of suppressing his power level, it was like holding in a burp or something, just felt like he was bottled up. 689 | 3,841 Echo Zaru Chardonnay

“I almost starved to death when I was the same age as the Baroness here,” Her violet eyes glanced at Chardonnay for a second, “My life was saved by a Duke who was a master swordsman. I promised myself to be the strongest martial artist and never experience hunger again by amassing a grand fortune. Yet, the passage of time changed everything.”
Melody smiled briefly, Bass was wealthy enough to afford better clothing choices, and even after two years he was finding difficulty in having any form of expression in order to break from his workaholic habits. The last time the pair of friends were together, Melody was fueled by the desire of harnessing a great zeni fortune, and taking total control as Grand Duchess from the Pig Demon Duchies by buying all the Western Land territories. However, all of those dreams were foiled by her own growing family.
As soon as the enemy flew in, the blue namekian made it clear of the abnormality, and the greenette nodded in agreement.
“Lord Note, Baron Merlot, come with me to take out their pests from destroying the cargo from the ships in the yard.” The Duchess commanded, “Lord Echo, I leave you with Baroness Chardonnay to work with Bass-kun on capturing the black heart namekians.”
The Duchies split up without hesitation, any delay in their decisions would be met with their lives being revoked, and in quick succession Melody decapitated the swarm of termites causing property damage. Canon and Cadence, Bossa Nova samurai, came out of hiding to assist their older sister in securing the shipyard.
Echo released his giant form, returning to his ten year old stature, he looked over to Chardonnay at eye level who awaited instructions, and then turned his head to look over at Bass.
“The black heart namekians all have regenerative abilities, they fuse missing body parts from their brethren to restore their own limbs in order to inherit each other’s monstrous powers, and the insect type are able to produce eggs at the speed of saibamen seeds.” Echo explained, “Our goal is to capture the enemy and figure out how to deal with them due to their biological nuisances.”
The reason everyone was suppressed earlier was to catch the enemy in the first place but the plans were forced to change due to a misunderstanding. Even now Echo still suppressed his power to prevent the port town from being turned into a meteor crater by his own carelessness. The strawberry blonde was completely unaware of Bass’ internal suffering of holding back his own power but the boy understood it well enough. The sea air only worsened the nausea of compacting an immense power level to a common earthling but it was necessary to keep the townsfolk safe from harm.
"Just wait Baroness, I will be the prey, and you will capture the hunter."
Rather than attack first, Echo took a defensive stance, he would bait the enemy to launch an assault with intention of capture. The first to draw near was the black heart namekian with a black afro on a head of a fly and compound ultra violet eyes. [522] [4,363] Zaru Chardonnay Bass

Zaru may have not been part of the planned group that these kids had intended for this defence, but he was catching onto their ideas all the same. Keep your power suppressed, avoid collateral damage. He could get that, he supposed. He took it as a challenge; he'd just have to rely on his technique, and if he had a lot of anything, it was that. His body shifted a bit as he took a stance to ready himself, not far from where two of the kids and the large Namekian stood. It might have looked odd in these parts as he leaned forward and bent his body somewhat, one arm stretched upwards while the other was downwards. It was actually an orthodox stance of the Turtle Style, but he couldn't imagine, other than maybe the other fighters here, that many would know of it. He was glad of that, in a way. He had no real desire to be identified, and simply waited as black-hearted Namekians got closer and closer.
It was only when three of them landed at him, the first one striking out, that he moved. The objective was capture, or so that kid said. Now that Zaru glanced over, he looked even younger. Wasn't he a teenager before? He cast the distraction from his mind as he leaned back to avoid the swipe of a claw, and then dropped down to avoid the same thing from the two other Namekians behind him. Without hesitation, he began to spin as he hit the ground, his leg outstretched as he sweeped the legs of all three of his assailants, though he only set his sights on one. With the Namekian helpless in the air, Zaru turned and extended his leg out like a piston, using the momentum to strike the creature hard in the chest with the principle movements and kicks of the Gazelle Style. The Namekian was sent flying and bashed against the wall of a building, but didn't do any significant damage, just slumping down unconscious against it.
Hopping up into a standing stance once more, he weaved left and right to avoid further strikes, push kicking one Namekian away and trapping the arm of another in an arm lock. He used the creature's own momentum to turn and spin, smashing its face into another wall before he turned once more, making a rolling motion with his arm as he leaned forward and forcibly flipping the Namekian onto his back. Immediately after, he stomped outwards with his foot, kicking the grounded demon clansman arcoss the face, and instantly knocking him out.
In that same moment, the third and final black-hearted Namekian had come leaping towards him, approaching from the side. With little time to react, Zaru turned, his palm and fingers extended outwards as his fingertrips began to glow and shudder with ki. He thrust his hand foward and caught the creature in the air, penetrating its chest with his hand as it almost seemed to phase through, vibrating with intensity. He hadn't expected just how black-heart physiology would react to this kind of shutdown strike, however. Rather than driving the ki and physical energy out of the Namekian, knocking him out, the moment that Zaru's fingers entered, the creature just exploded.
It didn't help that the explosion was far from clean. Purplish blood burst from where it had been, and Zaru was suddenly soaked in it, his head and robes covered. He stumbled back, looking at himself and letting out a quiet sigh as he muttered. "Goddamned Worm Style..." He flicked his hands about a bit to clear the blood from them as best he could, but it wasn't accomplishing much. Well, at least he got two out of three, and there had to be more coming than that.

Chardonnay listened intently as Echo explained the nature of the enemy, learning that the black heart namekians have regenerative abilities. It would be the first time the baroness went into an actual skirmish, while she was overwhelmed with fear inside, she mustered all her strength, and readied herself to apply the techniques she learned from their training so far. She braced herself, alert of her surroundings, prepared to back up the strawberry blonde whenever the enemies attacked, just as they planned initially. The swarm approached in speed, three got past them and attacked the man in a straw hat, Chardonnay only had a glimpse of what had transpired from behind but one of the enemies was sent flying forward, towards the nearby wall, unconscious. When she looked over, the other one was knocked out beneath the man’s feet while the other was nowhere to be seen, however the supposed ally seemed to be drenched in the blood of their enemy, so it was possible that the other just exploded from his attacks. While she marveled at his skills, there was not enough time to get preoccupied with it as more enemies came their way. Turning back to Echo, she almost didn't notice the enemy strike her to the side. There wasn't enough time to dodge, and her left arm was caught by the claw of her assaulter, she winced at first, but was quick to react with a powerful kick on the creature’s face, Sakuya, her vassal immediately backed up, taking off the bamboo husk restraining her mouth, leaping at the monster, to eat it. The demon charged forward to a few more enemies, chowing them down like a glutton. Chardonnay watched the strawberry blonde's back, supporting him should opponents strike from behind. A forceful palm strike landed on one namekian who attempted to hit Echo, throwing the creature off to the side, the baroness flung forward and followed up, pummeling the beast to the ground. As instructed earlier, the little girl scrambled for some ropes from a nearby shack, tying down the enemies which were left unconscious while remaining alert of her surroundings, in any case the invaders assault her in surprise. After securing the restraints on the villains, she tore a piece from her clothing, pressed her arms to allow it to bleed, cleaning off the wound, and fastening the torn piece of cloth over it, to serve as a temporary dressing. Late to the scene, but not to the point where he is unable to participate. Valentus heard that the inhabitants of Earth call this sort of situation "fashionably late" - however, he struggled understand what about any of it is "fashionable". If anything, it was just a loss of being able to participate in the event from the very beginning. Regardless, "fashionably late" was probably the best way to describe his arrival to Lumina Town.
The Tuffle was naturally suppressed, his prodigial and supernaturally enhanced level of control to his physical strength allowed him to naturally relax himself to pretty much any level he wanted, but by the time he and Paizu arrived to the outskirts of the town, they witnessed it already being besieged by a horde of Black Heart Namekians - the mutated cousins of this normally peaceful and collected race, who terrorised the Northern Lands, raided without abate and yielded nothing but suffering to all. Valentus first witnessed the horde as he scaled up a hill right next to town, stepped past a handful of pine trees, and witnessed the swarm above the town.
His sword was still attached to his armor, so he was more than prepared to join the fight, even if late. Some time ago, he met a particular woman who told him that she'd kill him if he was caught wielding that sword again - and she will get disappointed if they ever, hypothetically, meet again. Valentus was far too stubborn to just quit - though he was more careful with his heroics from here on out.
Some of the Black Heart Namekians targeted specific persons deeper in the town - the Tuffle could only assume those were the defenders of Lumina Town - while a horde of... insects? stormed towards the ports, where they were already engaging several other power levels. Other demonic Nameks stood clear of the powerful ki wielders and were descending upon the houses. The inhabitants of the town had already begun evacuating to their houses, or to the underground, or anywhere else they hoped would keep them safe, but there was only so deep or far they may hide against the monsters. A few winged Black Hearts descended on the roofs of a few huts, breaking and crushing roof tiles as they slid down, and used their rudimentary senses to search for where the Earthlings might be at.
Valentus ran towards the city centre through one of the streets, and as he ran, he briefly bent down and scooped up several pebbles from the rubble with his hand.
"Smokescreen?" Paizu asked, unsure on what her comrade's goal was and making a guess - only to see the Tuffle to pick up one pebble from his hand after another and toss them at the Namekians hording above the houses. "-oh."
Propelled by Valentus' superhuman strength, the pebbles flew at supersonic speeds, their sensation and sound more of a low caliber round than anything. Hitting the Namekians left them thinking someone shot them with a pistol, and one of the group, a horned winged demon, turned to see the orange haired knight running away. Five of the demons thus took off from the houses to fly after him.
They were now after him, but it meant they couldn't go after the villages, which was already a victory. The Namekians still assumed he was just a particularly bold local teen, so one of the flying mutants dived down to get uncomfortably close, the claws of the monstrosity about to reach his cape. Then, suddenly, Valentus turned around, sword drawn in an instant and cleaving straight through his opponent's right wing.
A shriek of pain followed, then - a sudden armored kick straight in the Namekian's chin, slamming him straight into another and then, after bouncing off, into a third, as if this were a game of pinball. Only the first mutant got knocked out, however - the other two simply flew back to the sky, back into the horde where a blue skinned Namekian had just started pulverizing their brethren.
A fourth mutant tried charging Valentus as well, only to be suddenly blinded by an unexpected flash of light - Paizu suddenly enlightened her wings, the flash hitting the namekian straight in the eyes and overwhelming them. The Tuffle took advantage immediately - he smashed the pommel of his sword into the chest of the mutant, leaned over to smack him to the ground with an elbow strike at the back of its head, and pinned the wing of the creature down with his sword. Knock-out.
Now, where was the fifth?
"Val! There!" Paizu called out, pointing to the distance. The fifth Namekian which Valentus had distracted, realizing that the Tuffle was tougher than anticipated, took off towards an another target - a small girl, a familiar face, who was busy tying down several of his comrades with rope and bandaging her wounds after a clash with them. Valentus did not need any further alarms - he rushed forward, leaping through the street, before his foot finally met the face of the demon several meters away from where the young girl stood.
"Char- uh, Miss Chardonnay!" the Tuffle called out, unsure for a second on how to address her. Their relationship was not particularly formal, but they only barely knew each other, and she was a noble, after all. "Miss Juniper told me that I would be able to find you here, and so I came as soon as I could." Though he had only a surface level understanding of what was taking place in the village, he could already assume who were their allies and who were the monsters they need to ward off. Valentus' sword was raised, ready to block or swing at any opportunity - though ready for battle, he did not miss the makeshift bandage over the girl's arm, either.

The Namekian needless to say, was for the most part in his own mind.
The world around him looked nothing like peaceful Earthen society; filled with honking horns and taxpayers in a rush. Instead that grandeur was snuffed out, a peace squashed by... As the reddish green vapor receded, he looked towards the other Black Heart Namekians around them. Of course he wouldn't have too much of an opening to process things before one of them tried to attack him. Specifically, one of them seemed to be a bit rounder than most. Pressurized, it sprinted towards him by his lonesome before... Gruesomely detonating. Case and point fire erupted towards the sky, perhaps it was a tool used to try and take out martial artists- one of them was worth a lot more than one of the Black Heart Namekians.
That was fine however. Brushing off a couple giblets from the side of his face that'd been towards the assailant, the worst thing that came out of it was that his suit wasn't really intact anymore. The entire left sleeve was gone, as was a lot of the main shift on his left side. Furthermore, the Namekian's tie looked to have been singed enough to break and go flying off from the force of the explosion. Ultimately, this left Bass without a shirt- a really strange look to those not familiar with how the Namekian looked in anything but a suit. Oddly enough, he seemed to have a large scar near his right shoulder, perhaps from a sword of some kind long ago.
But this was unforgivable, was all he was thinking in the moment.
Seeing lights flicker in the distance as... It became undoubtedly apparent with sensing that they were being avoided for the simple purpose of slaughtering as many people as possible... Bass lost his cool a bit. Looking back towards the rest, it appeared as if the group could handle themselves, reassuring him that he could move out a bit. The most worrying thing was a Black Hearted Namekian headed for Chardennay, something which understandably instilled a moments hesitation into Bass on whether to help or not.
Yet again, the voice of self-awareness in his head.
Trust.
Phew, a face he didn't know came to the girls help.
Turning back forward, the Namekian burst off of the ground with enough force to leave a small meter wide zone of which appeared to be blasted apart from the intensity of his takeoff. Barreling from building to building, he sought to neutralize as many of them as possible. Unlike most creatures, Bass whether incorrect or not had deemed the 'Black Heart Namekians' that were attacking this village as sub-sentient, and therefore like hunting a fox killing them was just part of a natural cycle. Of course, that cycle was much darker than an ecosystem, but still.
He was fast. To the untrained Martial Artist out of tune with their ability to sense, Bass was appearing and disappearing from every Black Heart Namekian he fought with. To the trained eye he was simply moving that fast with minor thundersteps, making a point not to kick into gear near anything that he'd inflict collateral damage towards.
All of a sudden, Bass was right back into it- but he was on the other side.
A fist slammed into one of the Black Heart Namekian's jaws as it perceived a creature near it, and then another a split second later found it'd become indistinguishable from dirt on the ground after getting flattened against it. As fast as Bass went, he felt like it wasn't fast enough. At one point he'd even thunderstep into a group that was aware of what he was doing, using it as an opportunity to try and trap him.
The Namekian caught one of the attackers oncoming arms, swinging them across his form to slam into the two others. The force of his attack seemed to tear off the aforementioned creatures arm, of whom would begin regenerating it; the behavior was, if he had to admit, disturbingly reminiscent of that of Namekians.
So this was actually how bad it'd gotten, huh?
The group had recovered, but paired with their senses they didn't want more trouble than the Namekian than they'd already gotten. Running towards another easier target, they'd find their path interrupted, two of their heads in Bass's palms. A brief tightening of his hands, more than enough to permanently decommission the animals. The third one rerouted its movement, beating insectoid wings to go down an alleyway towards a fleeing civilian.
Yet it didn't get far, a blueish now reddish-green hand coming from it's chest. It disappeared as soon as it'd appeared, causing the Black Hearted Namekian to collapse before slumping over to the side.
Bass needed to think bigger, but their involvement with the village seemed to make that increasingly difficult. He couldn't let out the big guns without threatening the lives of the people here. Optimistically, he'd take mental notes to ensure his Military contribution to this war had this information from the start, so they could confront the enemy by intercepting them before the horde actually arrived. He was sure there was something they could sort out to track Black Heart Namekian warbands.
But for the moment, he simply continued to take out the trash, and he wasn't sparing the savages either. Even back in his day fighting for Piccolo Daimao, he had reason, and a voice. He was simply skewed to think he was fighting for his father until he got a broader perspective.
Anything even remotely accessible on the skyline was Bass's prime targets, far enough away as they searched for pedestrians from above that he didn't need to hold back.
He'd befittingly called the technique Nuclear Destruction, given it was the representation of what happened if he channeled the constant build-up of ki into a single output point.
His muscles tensed as he looked towards the dozens of Black Heart Namekians buzzing around the skies above the town, trying to find a good chance to descend on people. Focusing all of his ki towards his mouth, a sound of condensed and charging ki built up, the Namekian's neck and upper chest beginning to glow a faint teal. And then it hit, a massive destructive cone of eradication.
He could freely redirect it, and it wouldn't travel indefinitely. While destructive, his height- and his opponents height in the sky allowed him to use the technique. He'd try to wipe out as many of them as possible; Melody and her allies were already bagging Namekians, knocking every single one out would be a logistical nightmare to keep them all under.
So it was no surprise that Bass had rationally come to conclusion that they'd have to crunch the numbers.

In just a matter of seconds, everyone reacted effectively to the raid, the fallen that were spared were captured by the Duchies while others were turned into spare parts. Once again the Port town of Lumina was deadly silent, a premonition of what existed beyond the sea, where Piccolo Daimao’s significant power level crushed the souls of all who drew near. Everyone who was from the western lands knew that the Daimao consumed anyone who invaded the northern islands, he had the ability to absorb earthlings to increase his own power without lifting a single finger to train, and it was a story most children were taught by their parents as a warning for stepping out of line in their behavior. For some reason or another the Namekian remained in the Northern Islands, as if waiting for a critical moment in time to take place, and the only clue about his motivations was in Pilaf and Friends illustrated storybook involving a Capsule Corp rice cooker.
A cold sweat formed on Echo’s temple, the entire point of capture was to prevent the Black Heart Namekians from increasing in number, and the few that were torn to shreds regenerated partially with the sole purpose of producing insect eggs. Even with the additional assistance of the rice hat martial artist and the teenage swordsman the number kept increasing while the Bossa Nova clan samurai captured the fallen. The first afro fly headed Namekian was turned to a pile of purple blood by Zaru, the blood regenerated to create orb shaped eggs, and in an instant twenty sacs began to bubble up at a demonic growth rate to create more of the same type of black hearted namekian. In his peripheral he noticed Chardonnay was injured in the scuffle, since she had not mastered sky dance art, the best course of action was to get out of the way of the hatchlings.
The red headed swordsman began to speak directly to the Baroness, it seemed they were familiar with each other, and the strawberry blonde boy was stunned for a brief second when he heard the heir to districts of Oolong City mentioned by name. A vassal? Unlikely, a vassal would never be late to support their lady, he narrowed his violet eyes at the prospect, gaging Valentus’ aptitude who was stronger than Chardonnay by a fraction. It was evident in the way the Tuffle carried himself that he was about to learn a hard lesson of not mastering the ability of flight.
After scooping up Chardonnay effortlessly, he sliced the eggs that were the size of boulders with his katchin sword, before he leaped backwards to land on the tile roof of a stone house at the pier, in that same instance the surviving hatchlings burst out of their shells and twenty disgusting namekian demonic flies grew exponentially to its former ancestor. With his back pressed against his childhood friend, the pair began to slice through the flying namekians in complete synchronization, there was no time for idle banter until victory was secured.

When she felt a presence heading towards her direction, Chardonnay’s first instinct was to put up a defense, raising her hands while preparing to leap backwards to jolt forward and charge at the supposed enemy, only to be surprised that the creature was sent out flying unconscious by the orange-haired hero she just met at Duchess Juniper's abode in Jingle Village. “Ah! Mr. Valentus, I t-thought…” The little girl was interrupted as Valentus explained that he went to see her after learning from Juniper her whereabouts. The baroness wasn’t sure if he was sent by the duchess to help, but from what he said it looked like he went on his own accord. Nevertheless, it was not her concern at the moment, the foreign knight was just in time to help them fighting off the invaders. “Uh.. were you looking for me, Mr. Valentus? I sensed my brother’s ki in this town as soon as we reached the border so I ran off here in a heartbeat.” “Yes, I am alright. Thanks for coming all the way here, hope we could use some help---” again, she wasn’t able to continue what was about to say when her friend, Echo suddenly swept her away, slicing through a large egg blocking their way, before landing on a tiled roof. Chardonnay’s eyes glanced back at the confused knight at first while they were still in the air, and then shifting her gaze at the demon’s visage. The strawberry blonde boy must have mistaken her new found friend for some random stranger taking advantage of the commotion in the town. The little girl hopped off Echo’s arms, and stood back to back with him as they continued warding off the enemies. "Echo, Mr. Valentus is a friend I met at the duchess' house before I came here," the little girl suddenly blurted out, correcting the demon boy's suspicions if ever he had.The town suddenly became a battlefield, with the Pig Demon Duchies and their allies protecting the village against the black heart namekians, whose numbers kept on increasing as the sliced body parts regenerated while the insects kept producing eggs. Sakuya the demon continued to chow down the creatures, until she couldn’t take it anymore and puked the remains out. The taste was disgusting after all, she changed her strategy into taking the enemies head on, making sure that she wouldn’t rip off their bodies to prevent them from reconstructing themselves. A punch in the insect’s gut to her left, a sweep kick to her right, and an uppercut to the enemy from above. Meanwhile, Merlot was with Note and Melody too focused fighting off the Namekians on their side that he didn't notice how the other allies were fairing in this exhaustive battle.
