The sands in the deserts shifted, a small mound forming in them for a few months now began to move and collapse slowly, grains sliding down it's sides and pooling at the bottom. That brief motion stopped quickly, the scorching wind swept across the desert again, stealing these grains away and flinging them a few feet away from their previous resting place, continuing their travel across the desert. It was a peaceful day in the Southern Lands, and just like many peaceful days in this world, whose destiny has been shattered and forever changed, it was not to last. The dune shifted, illuminated from beneath, bulging briefly and erupting in a cascade of gray light, with green swirls all over it, giving the ki blast a distinct colour of a multi-flavoured bubblegum cube. An apt description, as the creator of it - a small, unassuming gray girl with hair tendrils laying limp over her eyes - crawled out of the hole in the sand, slipping on the edges of the pit, where her energy beam glassed the sand on contact. Coughing and spitting out ludicrous amounts of sand, the Majin sat up, looking at the sky with a blurry vision. What happened, where was she?... Last thing Nal remembered was this... strange place, searching for a demon rampaging across, with a similar power structure to her own. There was this woman, Amaro? Tamira? Something similar, she could not recall while this groggy and woefully under-sugared. They were going from a school of wolfmen - which the Majin distinctly remembering not all being actual wolfmen, something she found really silly, because why use a name like that, then? - and then she took off, she remembered laughing in amusement as the people fell backwards and onto their butts from the sonic boom of her flight. Then... she woke up. And no matter how much her tired mind attempted to recall anything more, it failed. There was just a vague sense of tiredness and falling, the thought of another crater, then - a dreamless sleep, much like before. Except not in a green cocoon this time, just buried under the sands. Safe from the vultures, fortunately - they didn't dare bother her after that adventure with her learning of the growth ability. But confusing all the same. And worrying. Did she sleep for another long week again? She wasn't exactly wrong - it's been almost a year, but the majin's thought train was derailed and drifting on several tracks at once, at all times. She set out to sensing. Always powerful in that regard, the girl could sense over vast distances, focusing on finding those people she cared about. Zam... there she was, but... Nal shuddered at just how powerful the majin had become. The technoman Bryce... his energy was infinitely more difficult to sense, but he also was there and also absurdly strong. Nal's sensing tendril twitched and shifted about, as she sought out those people she had known before, her eyes growing wide with fright as this all settled in her mind. Atalan? Out there somewhere, not as absurdly strong, but still a lot more than her. Celerai? He was there and strong, really strong. Cade? Out there, stronger than her... Kiryu? Wow, -that- was quite a power. Though Zam rivaled that pretty well... Some she could not sense at all. It wasn't surprising in case of the professor Poblano, but others... made the girl worried. Nal sighed, deeply. All this made her realise just how ridiculously weak she became. Or rather, not that she was weak, but everyone around her got just so much stronger while she took a nap under the sand. How long was it anyway? Months? Years? Definitely not as long as the last time, but... still. She had to do something about this. And she has decided to start right now. Because now is always the best time, later is for lazy and boring people. At least according to this one, extremely restless Majin. So she sensed again. That other demon had to still be around. Finding it was a good idea to begin with, no matter how long it was she slept for. If it was still free, it needed to be found and fought. And so, she blasted off, leaving a sonic shockwave where she took off from, creating yet another crater in the sand. It started to look like her thing. "Okay, first things first, finish the thing we started... heroes do that. Always finish their jobs. Right, Nal?"[WC = 750] [Linked thread: dragonballbd.proboards.com/thread/1783/clash-demonhead - exception allowed by Warr, word count: 4750. Total word count: 5500]

Sitting in his grand office near the top of The Momentum Tower, Bass flipped through his itinerary for the days event prepared by his newest secretary after the prior one was elevated to managerial status in the Western Lands. He looked through various meetings he'd arranged on prior days, none of them all that influential in the grand scheme of things, but necessary nevertheless. Raising his arm up to look at his watch, he'd take note of the time. According to it, he had around five minutes left until his lunch break, something that was now a lot more flexible compared to previous years when he wasn't running the whole operation. Letting out a tired yawn, he'd pull his feet off of his desk and adjust his tie. As he shifted to begin standing up while still looking at the itinerary for the day, his other hand would rub at his eyes and temple in slight frustration. Walking over towards the curtains behind him, he'd pull them apart to reveal the broad expanse of South City. Hundreds of vehicles, buildings flowing on seemingly endlessly, large sphere capped towers and suspended roadways snaking around each other to allow all walks of life smooth movement throughout the city. The bright blue sky illuminated the office with natural light, causing Bass to narrow his eyes as they adjusted to the brightness. That was the moment he noticed something peculiar. His senses were capable of many things, but there was a single sense a Martial Artist had which extended their perception to superhuman capacity. Particularly, the ability to sense power. It wasn't the potency of power that tipped Bass off- after all he'd never actually seen something greater than his own outside of a few odd encounters back in the day, and in this case that was no different. Instead, the roaring speed at which whatever signature traveled at was interesting, a curious thing- he wondered just where it was they were traveling. Based on the distance, he figured they could've been in... The Southern Lands. Turning around he'd pull open a drawer on his desk, dropping the clipboard inside before shutting it. He had a couple more minutes until his break started as he checked his watch again. Technically he shouldn't get involved in something that could take him longer than the expected hour he had allotted for lunch, but having a little fun often came with the caveat of taking a risk. The worst of which happened with Will a while ago, but it only meant he needed to be better to avoid complications in the future. Nevertheless, there was a knock at his door. Given the timing and historical events before his lunch break, it was someone bringing him paperwork to handle after he returned. Opening the door, before they even had a chance to say anything he'd call out. " Byeeeee!" While raising his fingers to his head. He'd done it dozens of times as CEO for The Momentum Corporation, and the employee could only shout a " Damn it Bass!" before the Black Heart Namekian disappeared. Where he appeared was directly next to Nal, but that was strange. Looking where the power signature should've been, he didn't... See anyone? He knew they were going fast but... Nope, it was honestly their speed that caused them to not be there within a fraction of a second. It was impressive to say the least. If he knew more about Nal he might've made a joke about something something sugar rush, but perhaps the joke lay in the future. The Namekian would suddenly burst into a rapid flight to follow behind the individual. Now actually seeing them and locking onto their signature, he hoped to catch up and eventually get close enough for them to hear them. Given the intense winds at such high speeds however, he had to get pretty close until he would even be audible. " Heeey! What's the rush?! If I didn't know any better I'd think you were about to go do something worthy of a lunch break!" He'd shout forward, trying to start flying parallel to Nal. " I'm Bass, that's Bassically all you need to know." He'd say, letting out another yawn. At this point he could make out what they looked like. Narrowing his eyes, they weren't any kind of Earthling he'd ever heard of. The Majin also didn't resemble any plausible Black Heart Namekian, Tuffle or Saiyan... Then he snapped to a conclusion, remembering the most similar looking thing he'd ever seen to them; Majin Zam. " You a Majin!? I heard you guys like sugar, you should call your flying ability Sugar Rush!" Always with the puns, and the joke came around pretty fast. 787 | 6287/14,000 Nal

Flying at supersonic speeds was both fun and had a way to clear mind of any unwanted thoughts, though never permanently - they always returned, at least for Nal. She was fairly certain other majins didn't have that issue and it was only her strangeness that made it happen. The single-minded focus with which she approached any given task was great, but... not really as much as it'd seem. She was still prone to distractions like others of her kind were, which was why she focused on the sense of flight to begin with. There was a task at hand, after all! She had to sense and find that demon, assuming this other girl hasn't defeated it yet, alongside that bunch of not really wolfmen. And as she sensed, someone just... appeared. Far behind her. Curious, the Majin made a swift u-turn in the sky and soared towards the person, only to see that he - a blue man, oddly, blue wasn't a very common skin colour around these parts! - was doing the exact same thing, talking about majins and sugar. Unfortunately, given the man was admirably good at keeping pace with the majin, their first contact was brief. The girl decided to rectify that by spreading her arms and halting in the sky, as the powerful air pressure slowly halted her flight. She was getting better at it, though were she landing in the sand, the desert would gain a pair of substantial skid marks on it's surface, and her boot soles would probably be ruined. Fortunately, she was in the air, turning and waiting for the stranger to fly to her. Not that she had to wait long. "Hello, I'm Nal. Are you a demon? You kinda look like a demon" - the majin said, her head canting from side to side as she studied the strange, blue man. Then again, everyone was strange in her mind anyway. "And yes, I'm a majin, but less of a real majin and more... well, me, if you want to meet a real strong majin, you want to find Zam! She's really powerful, a lot more than she was before I fell asleep under the sands again." - she frowned somewhat, that sudden nap was certainly concerning, but it was a problem for later. Now, she had to focus on this new person. Maybe he'd be a friend? "And sugar rush sounds like an amazing name for an attack and I will totally be using it in the future!" - a grin spread on her face while the barrage of words carried on. - "And your name is funny. Bass is like, both a fish and music, a little like those singing fish I saw in Central City during their sausage contest... you should get one of those and teach it to introduce you. It'd be super funny" - the majin nodded, sagely, proud of her brilliant idea. Only the most genius of people would come up with it! At least, in her own perception. That counts, right? In just a moments time when Nal came to a halt, the Black Heart Namekian would catch up and land in a significantly more orderly fashion. Getting a better look towards the figure, he immediately wondered why they were grey or white; aren't Majins pink? Well, in his defense he'd only ever seen Zam, someone that came up in the conversation quite quickly. Raising a brow, his mind wandered back to when he'd first met her and... Right then and there, Bass seemed to start snapping his fingers as he tried to remember who it was. " Shell, that's it. Right, your question." He said, before carrying on with his answer. Though just when he was about to do so, Nal kept going. He took note that they were talkative quite quickly, but contrary to popular opinion he liked talkative people, at least people that had a lot of things to talk about- not just small talk. Nodding his head several times, the suggestion at the end practically sucker punched the man. He wasn't upset with the idea, but visualizing his tarnished pride as a sentient bass laid out his introductions had a way with quickly being scrubbed from his thoughts and mind all together. He'd just give a pained smile and nod. " Okay." He said, before testing the waters by beginning to speak. Then he did, when Nal had fully said what she'd wanted to. " Anyways, to your first question... Yes and no, I'm not a Demon, but I guess you can't call me a Namekian either. I'm I think what Earthlings call a Black Heart Namekian, I have not looked at my heart to confirm if it's actually black or not, but I think it's just supposed to represent ominousness and evil- since most others of my kind are ransacking villages and spreading terror." Thinking about it for a moment, he'd elaborate. " I suppose that was my first job as well, everyone's gotta start somewhere." He said with a hearty bit of laughter. More importantly on his mind however, was the mentioning of Zam. He'd had one encounter with her and Shell a long time ago, they were actively terrorizing a population. At the time he was probably the most morally ambiguous he'd ever been immediately after getting out of his previous life of villainy. Before it got severe, he'd made the choice to move on. In hindsight it might've been better to stay. " I've met Zam before. I don't really care too much about how strong people are. It might make me curious, but ultimately most Martial Artists are adventurers, and what you're doing is a lot more interesting than how strong you are. I only care about how strong my opponents are. But to hear that name again, my interest is definitely piqued. I'll have to pay a visit sometime." He made a mental note to himself. " Do you know about how strong she is? Don't want to accidentally end up in front of the wrong person. Other than that, you were headed somewhere pretty fast?" He asked, folding both of his arms in front of himself. He never brought up the subject of having a talking bass introduce him. 533 / 7320 Nal

Listening, tilting her head curiously and grinning to herself, the Majin figured two things out. First, he knew Zam, which was good, mutual sort-of friends are good. Second, he was fun, in a way few others were, indulging her onslaught of words, though as usual, dismissing the brilliance of her majin mind. That was okay, everyone did. Few were as awesome as them. "Right! One thing at a time, from first to last this time, so that I don't ramble off and forget something" - she said, then focused. What was it that this man asked first? Or mentioned first, as it were. "I know how strong Zam is... like... she feels like four times me, and..." she squinted, the sensory tendril, as she affectionately dubbed her antenna, pointed at Bass. And then she blinked. "...wow. You're like... more than ten me's. I think. Sensing energy isn't really easy or mistake free, you know? But yes, Zam is like four me's. And I am... well, one me." - and as to demonstrate her powerlevel, Nal let it show, letting go of any suppression she was using to control her flight a little more. It was... a little below ten percent of what Bass could muster. "I'm sure you can figure this out from here!" Nodding sagely, the girl continued, the tendril moving to sense some more, but this time, not Bass - she sought for the escaped demon. "And yes, I am flying fast because I want to find someone. See, a little ago I met a girl at the school of wolfmen nearby, that mostly look just like normal humans, so not sure why they're called that, and apparently, a demon escaped from them so my job was to find him, or her, or it, and find out if it's a bad demon and then show the wolfmen the way to it. But then I... think I fell off the sky and fell asleep for a little while. Hopefully it wasn't another week." - she said, frowning in concern. On one hand, she was right, it wasn't a week. On the other, the event she spoke of had happened over half a year ago, close to three quarters of it, and there were probably local rumours about it, given Nal had a little bit of renown in the area. "But I cannot sense the girl anymore, and the demon... well the power is here and there. I hope nothing bad has happened to her and that I can finish my job. Hey, since you're not really a demon, just a... nameekan, which I still need to learn how to say, maybe you can help me out? We have to find that demon! And then... well, find out if it's a good demon or a bad demon, and then do what we have to do. We can beat the demon up to make it see more sense, if we have to" - the girl nodded, vigorously and sagely. What better way to make a friend that mutually go on an adventure? That's how heroes did it! Though with how absurdly strong this man was, she felt like a sidekick of this story and that just didn't mesh with her ambitions of heroism. No, she had to find her own path after that. But that's a thought for later, now there was an adventure to be had! Which this man seemed the kind to come along on. She hoped. [573|7893] Bass

A Demon, huh? The Namekian pondered if he'd actually even met any proper Demons. His honest depiction of them were what he saw on TV and in movies, winged creatures with crimson tridents and fiery eyes. He's frankly never even considered what a Demon might look like, and so his interest in this particular adventure he'd tagged along rose a little more. Good or bad, encountering them would be an informative experience in handling any future Demons that might threaten his livelihood- if this one didn't, that is. Noticing the Majin remarking on his power level, he remained quiet for a moment whilst considering how best to respond. Opening his mouth to speak, he'd hold off for just another moment before articulating an answer to that. " I see. I've been trying to wrap my head around suppressing that, Kiryu once told me that I was unnatural with how much ki my body generated. I'm sure it's not actually reflective of my capabilities." He said with a dismissive wave of his hand. Whether he was strong or not didn't really concern him, the Majin and their journey took priority over how strong they were. The only time he was concerned was when someone was stronger than he was, and that was when he was at his best- when he was the underdog. " I forget how strong Zam was when we last met, it was so long ago. Though if their... Uh... Energy signature is what you said, it sounds like she's been keeping busy. Hopefully not getting too wrapped up in terrorizing people, that was the standard back when I met her." He'd remark, looking off in the direction that Nal was originally flying in. Thinking about her comments on the students of the wolf school, he'd crack a smirk and look Nal's way again. " Yeah? I get what they're trying to do, but I'd have to agree with you. It's uh... Indicative of their styles. Wolves are symbolic of ferocity and aggression, as well as teamwork perhaps? It's the same with any of those schools. Personally I just name things how they are- like The Burrito Bass, or the Bassic Martial Arts School. Can't go wrong with that." He said, before getting back on topic regarding the intention of looking for the Demon. He'd sort of unintentionally invited himself, and only when he was asked did he realize it was probably rude of him to interrupt what they were doing like he did. " I wouldn't mind giving a hand. Sorry for barging in, by the way." He said, raising his wrist to look at his watch. Debating how much time passed compared to how long it might take, he wagered it was still doable. " So I take it you have a lead then? And a power that's all over the place?" He didn't know anything about Demons, and so whatever may be the cause for such an anomaly went over the Namekians head. Starting to rise in the air however he'd look down. " Well, best to start looking around in the area you're sensing the power signature. I'm hoping their power's just strange being a Demon, and they're not moving as fast as 'being all over the place' might imply." He'd say, starting to slowly fly towards the location. Assuming Nal began to lead the way, he'd bring up a question. " You seem a bit more down to Earth than Zam is, what's life like a Majin like? And do you know how many of you there are? I might end up hiring one someday, I'm the uh..." He felt like CEO would go over Nal's head seeing as she questioned why the Wolf Clan wasn't comprised of Wolf people. " ... leader of a company, so who knows." He said, flying along. [631 | 8524] Nal

And here came the clincher. Nal's eyes grew wide, sparkles almost perceptible in utter wonder of what was just said. "You know Kiryu!" she exclaimed, grin spreading all across her face, wide like a ray fish. "I know him too! He was the first... no wait, second... no wait, there were three of them, so... fourth, no wait, there was that village... well, he was the first hero I met on my travels and he helped me, with an awesome box that screamed loud words from it, that I know now as a music box" the Majin gave a small pat to the small, squarely shaped music player at the belt of her baggy trousers. "We later went to catch a bad lady and then he had a tournament that I helped a little bit in before I got tired and took a nap... I need to meet him again sometime. But! Later, first, we have this to do and your questions to answer." - the barrage of words paused briefly, probably long enough for Bass to add something in while she considered the question, looking up to the sky in thought - probably not a wise thing while soaring at near-supersonic speed, but majins were never known from their attention to danger. "Being a Majin is... fast. We think fast and act fast. We love candy, so we're on a sugar rush a lot, which is why your name for our flying is funny and I will use it later, and we also... well, most of us, don't much care if they are hurting other things while we enjoy our games, because we can take all sorts of hits and survive, so the idea of others not being able to is just dumb to us... I'm a little... different" - the gray girl sighed, focusing on the way for a moment. "I think a lot more and act a lot slower and I'm far less strong than other majins, like Zam who I had a fun fight with once but she just beat me down real hard and I could do nothing to win. I wonder sometimes if I'm some sort of a lesser majin." the girl somberly mentioned, before shrugging. "I'm also a majin made by an incantation error, because the person who was summoning me said the wrong words so maybe that's why I am acting wrong. But! It doesn't matter to you anyway so let's focus on other things like that demon..." and now, Nal realised she should probably start sensing, so she did. Making a sharp L-turn to correct the course of where the demon's power was. "As for that demon I sense all sorts of powers of it, some older than others, so I just follow them in the order of older to newest to find it. Like a detective. Genius, right?" - she grinned, again, astounded by her genius, not even entertaining the idea that it would've been faster to just go to the newest emission. Or, more likely, the idea just didn't appear in her head. Majins. "And once we are done here... maybe I'll help people some more, but since you are the big boss of some place, maybe I can go there and help sometime? Be a little more of a hero! I want to be a hero, you know? It's my dream."[559|9083] Bass

Bass raised a brow, before a smirk tugged across his features as he realized his old chum had been around the block a few times. It made him wonder about what he could've been doing in the times that Bass didn't know of. When Nal finished talking about him, he'd take the brief opportunity to interject on the subject of Kiryu. "You're right, but I do wonder how he's doing. I haven't heard a thing from him for a while. Didn't seem like the type to retire either, maybe he died? Eh, that's a little dark." Bass admitted, but naturally it was the only thing he thought would genuinely silence Kiryu's ambition. He was a Human that managed to find techniques so obscure and niche that he elevated himself to the power of a Martial Artist. That kind of ambition didn't just... Fade away. Bass pondered about it, but optimistically hoped Kiryu was just laying low in the countryside somewhere as he thought up his next great adventure. Nevertheless, he tuned back in after his light remark to listen to Nal's answer. He was curious what life was like as such a rare creature, and it was interesting to hear that silliness was a biological impulse and not a personality trait. " You and I will get along fantastically if you liked that, I got puns for days." He laughed, listening to the rest of what she was saying. He made sure to keep pace with the Majin, even with the chaotic reorienting. He was patient, after all his goal wasn't the objective, he was just enjoying his lunch break and meeting new people that seek adventure for fulfillment as well. Hearing her put herself down however immediately made the Namekians features soften a bit, he wanted to interject, but he let her finish everything she wanted to say. When she said it didn't matter to him, he swallowed his words as to avoid interrupting what she wanted to say next- needless to say, he had a lot to say on the subject as Nal suddenly jolted to the side and started flying in a wildly different direction. Taking a moment to understand what'd happened, he turned about and started to fly after, taking a moment to catch up. Then she talked about how she was going to find the Demons, but those words went in one ear and out the other. The Namekian had heard some very serious words to hear from his perspective, and she wasn't done yet. When she talked about her goal, her dream, there was silence from the Black Heart Namekian. Choosing his words carefully, he'd speak up. " Look. Earthlings, Namekians, Saiyans, Majins. We all look different, we all struggle, we all strive to be more. I came from a warlord who chose to sew evil into my soul, and I battle that everyday I wake up to go to work. You see, Nal... The thing is, we have the power to overcome our natures. I think what- no, who you are is a show of greater strength to control yourself than you realize. You're living, you're breathing, you're aware of the world around you. Living in Earthling society, so many people on this planet sink into nothingness and forget they're important to even themselves." Bass spoke, gaze trailing below him at the rolling hills and passing large rocks. " Don't put yourself down. I don't want to sound corny...-" He grunted, sighing afterwards. " -but you're special. If what you told me's true, Zam is what a Majin is by nature. Chaos, driven by impulse rather than deliberation and rational. I've seen her, watched what she does. She seeks candy and is willing to kill people and crush towns just to get it. She has her own potential, sure, but... She doesn't have- at least from back when I first met her, what you have." He said, posing a question. " You want to be a Hero, and the world needs new Heroes. The top is awfully quiet, you know? It'd be nice to have some company to keep this rock safe, and based off what you just said I think I'd like to work with you. It doesn't matter how strong you are now, all that matters is what drives you. Your soul." He'd say, quieting down to give her a window to respond. These moments were a guilty pleasure for the Namekian, but he also hated himself for how corny he could get. Damned empathy. 749 / 9832 Nal

She listened, flying, trying to do both that and sensing, but it made her head spin and ache. So, flying first, sensing later, listening to the blue namekian was more important at the moment. The majin grinned, pretty happy with the words. "You're nice" she said, nodding her head sagely. "I'm not sure why you want to sound like corn, but corn is sweet and delicious, so it can't be that bad. But-"
The words were interrupted by a danger sense. She swerved from what appeared to be a barrage of ki blasts, launched at the majin and her namekian companion. If she was able to dodge, though, the majin was not at all afraid of her new blue friend, who was far better at things than her considering his power. Instead, she decided to locate the source of those ki blasts. Which presented itself rather quickly. The creature was mostly humanoid, but with a pale, yellow carapace over it's form, a pair of semi-long, straight horns protruding from it's head, and a worm-like tail, albeit a short one. It wasn't a textbook example of a demon - those were usually red (or blue) and carried clubs, with a little more apish shape to their faces, but it was a demon alright. "Ha! Nice dodge, little one!" - said the being, with a fairly androgynous voice, confusing Nal a little bit in the process. She didn't know how to address the being. "Don't worry though, I'll get you soon. Even since the Wolf school withdrew after their last fight, licking their wounds like a bunch of mongrels that they are, nobody dares to challenge me, the NEW heir to this land's terror. I'll-" Nal's attention could only be held by so long with words and a whole lot of it was already spent by her having to listen to Bass, who at least had something interesting to say except for babbling about what he would do to whoever stood in his way. This demon was just like that one from her nap-cave, long winded and full of himself... or herself. She still wasn't sure, though the boring manner in which the being spoke didn't spark much curiousity in Nal. Apart from one thing - apparently the wolfmen had a big fight and are recovering. She should probably go and heal them after this... but that means they had their big fight. Did she sleep that long?
As the pontification carried on, Nal's face curled - from mildly curious, the eyes narrowed and the mouth straightened, soon after the lips curling downwards and the eyes squinting further, full to the brim with boredom. How can someone talk -this- long and not have anything interesting to say? Nal was perplexed by this. She hoped and hoped to hear something good, after all, the demon was speaking for at least twenty seconds already. It was far too long. Bored out of her wits, the girl decided on a plan of action - first, check what the blue man does. Then, beat up the demon. Or at least help with that - Bass could probably defeat their enemy with one hand tied behind his back. Or maybe both. Probably both.

A ki blast seemed to fly out of nowhere to ruin the moment, cutting Nal's response short when the Namekian wanted to hear what she thought the most. It wasn't even a question of if he'd avoided it, swiveling his body to the side as the ki blast shot straight by him and through the clouds. Watching it go, he'd then turn his attention to the source of the attack- the Demonic figure that began to monologue towards them. At first he wondered if the creature had anything more to say than nonsense, but for once both Bass and Nals impatience were fairly similar. He found himself folding his arms and letting out a yawn whilst glancing towards Nal. She wasn't sure if his words were going in one ear and out the other, but he had a hunch they were based off of their interactions up to this point. He was half tempted to pick up a conversation again, but considering Nal might be a much closer match to the Demon than he was, he figured it was best not to completely distract from the threat at hand. Nevertheless, waiting for him to finish was mind numbing. The Namekian raised his hand up to check the time on his watch, it was getting into the early hours of the afternoon. If he did want to be back at work for the end of his lunch break some expedience might be in order, prompting a response from the Namekian. " Hey pal, I get it. Scary guy, spooky goals, you're doing great at pitching menace. I'm just waiting for the part where you walk the talk." He said, eyes still on the watch. "As is, the worst thing you've done is put me at risk of being late for work." He admitted, proper busting a blood vessel in the Demons forehead. Passive humiliation had a way of setting people off, but Bass often didn't think of these types of things as people, so he used the tool freely to provoke a response without feeling much guilt. That response was evident. The creature burst from the ground and closed the distance fast enough to be alright. In fact, he seemed to slam right into Bass who got carried with the Demon. Raising the Black Heart Namekian in the air the Demon shouted. " Fine! Let's see how you like this! Didn't know you were in a rush to die! Ahahaha!" He'd swing his arm wide as he barreled towards the ground, slamming Bass into the Earth. A crater formed from the impact, dust kicking up in all directions. It wasn't really surprising that despite his best efforts, Bass wasn't necessarily overly bothered by the attack. He wasn't unfazed though. After all, now his white dress shirt had brown scuffs and even a hole. It was absolutely detestable, but this wasn't about him. It was about Nal. As the dust cleared, the Namekian looked up towards the Majin that had proclaimed her dreams to become a mighty hero one day. He was still laying in the center of the crater, but aside from his clothes he looked alright. Raising a thumb towards her, he'd speak up. " Give 'em hell. Show them the weight of your ambitions." He said, a smile gracing his features. Sure, he could've technically ended this a lot faster, but this had always been Nal's fight. Not only was it a problem to the Wolf Clan and the locals, but to the Namekian it felt like it could be a trigger to Nal following her dreams with everything she had. He wanted to preserve that spark and nurture it into a bright and powerful flame. The world needed more Heroes that felt the way Nal did. 625 | 10,987 Nal

Nal needed no encouragement beyond that thumbs up. A powerful hero (presumably) that was also a friend of Kiryu (also presumably) just gave her a green light to show and become better - what more does a wannabe hero need to spring to action? For this particular one - nothing at all.
She rushed, tackling the demon off of the blue man, probably in the middle of another self-indulgent speech, Nal didn't know - because her acute majin senses tuned the creature out entirely. Her goal was now simple - to beat this person. He, or she, definitely was a bad demon, all that stuff about terror and dread made that pretty clear. So no need to hold back either - and that was good, she did need to learn to be stronger. And not distract herself so much with thinking. It was fortunate all those thoughts lasted mere fractions of a second, due to the frantic nature of her mind.
"I'm evil! Punch me, punch my face!" - Nal heard the demon say, though in fact, the speech was entirely different - something involving the words "How dare you" and general injured pride. The enemy threw another ki blast and flew away - only to notice Nal is already where he meant to stop, grinning ear to ear. "Okay, if you insist!" - she said, which confused the demon (given that response made absolutely no sense towards his accusations and threats) - at least for a split second before being kicked in the stomach and sent flying. Nal immediately barreled forward, single-mindedly focused on the combat - and as such, far more successful in controlling her flight, enough to stop right behind her foe was about to stop, then kick him into the ground, creating another small crater close to where Bass left one just a moment ago.
"See? I know I can do it! I'm not a big hero yet, but I will be, and I'm a bit of a hero in here already anyway, so I can handle a little more" - the majin turned to Bass and grinned, while the dust filled the air near the crater. - "But I kinda want people to fight me rather than just lie in the dust sooo... come out already!" - Nodding to herself, the gray girl watched the crater, waiting for the demon to come out... waiting, and waiting. The majin frowned, was this already over? No, it couldn't be. There was still power coming from that crater, which meant the demon was still there, but also-
The majin blinked, realising what the enemy was preparing just a moment before the blast left the crater. Soaring at high speeds towards Nal, the yellow beam of energy was fired directly from the mouth of the creature below, charged while she was stupidly waiting right in it's targetting range. And now, the majin noted split seconds before the blast would reach her, was too late to dodge. Focus, Nal, focus, she berated herself as the attack struck, thundering in her earholes and enveloping her in bright light.
The demon only let go of the attack after a dozen seconds of constant blasting, gritting his teeth in the wake of the beam. "Shut up already." he spat out, staring into the fading light.

Bass had barely even registered that the Demon was still atop of him before Nal slammed into them and sent him flying. Quickly the fight seemed to start beginning- well, the dialogue arguably as well. Laying in the crater, the Black Heart Namekian had the esteemed privilege of soaking up the rays of the sun at the bottom of his hole in the ground. It was around that point he'd wished he brought his shades on the trip with him, but ultimately he couldn't do that now. Instead the Namekian would opt to slightly shield his eyes with one hand, allowing him to vaguely keep track of the movements of the two fighters. Unlike Nal, Bass was inversely victim to the true monologuing monster that this demon was. He had no means to mentally extrapolate different words from objective fact like she did, and so he laid there in more pain over the unending wave of nonsensical villain jargon than the superficial scuffs and marks he'd had on his body from being slammed into the ground. Those could practically be brushed away with a few flicks of the hand, the talking... Well. It sounded like Nal had interpreted that she should shut him up some how. Did she hear something he didn't, he wondered? Yet it was her fighting style he was more focused on, leaning up from the hole he was in as rubble and crushed rock fell away from his back and shoulders. Just as he did, the Demon slammed into the ground incredibly close to where he was at. Curious, he'd get up to his feet and try to compare the size of both craters out of sheer innocent interest. Yet otherwise as dust kicked up into the air around the Demons new little home, he simply folded his arms. As Nal talked to him, he could feel the power signature of the Demon reinvigorating, things were looking a little worrisome. Regardless, he looked towards Nal and gave a stern nod of his head. He didn't need to reassure that kind of blind conviction to a goal, Nal had made up her mind. Instead he needed to come to terms with a truth he'd realized some time ago. He needed to learn to have faith in others. He'd spent so much time trying to be as strong as he could, that he'd pushed others aside without realizing they to could become great people. He was doing his best to try and work on his flaws, and this was one of those moments. He could jump in the way of the oncoming attack, or he could have faith that Nal's conviction was strong enough to pull her through the pain. If he doubted her, that... Well, it was a side of things that the Namekian was only now starting to understand so much longer after he'd started his journey. The beam soared through the smog, seemingly colliding with Nal. A vein rose to the surface on the Namekians head as his foot started to tap the ground repeatedly with nervousness. His entire body told him to get in the way, deflect the beam and deal with the Demon to make sure she was safe, but two is better than one, and if Nal was going to be a Hero, moments like these would be what hardened her into one that can protect others amidst adversity. He closed his eyes, taking a deep breath. Good, good- he seemed to sense that her powerlevel was still there. He wasn't in much of a position to give her further advice, if she walked out of that beam he felt like he might be seeing a lot more passion from the Majin than he'd seen so far. He knew he'd be pissed. Thinking Nal was dead, the Demon looked over towards Bass. He was about to say something snarky like 'you're next' or the likes, if he got a chance to even do so. 662 | 12,187 Nal

He did not.
Nal, naturally, survived the blast and being as absurdly durable even without any armour, it didn't even damage her too badly, and what -was- damaged, a slithering, green aura negated almost immediately, for the most part. But... it did one thing, one tiny thing, that affected the majin.
It hurt.
It hurt quite a bit. Worse yet, it reminded her of the only situation her fight or flight instinct ever triggered, and that was Zam's Bright Buster searing her rubbery flesh off of her form. Just like that time, the majin had to take it on, with her wrists crossed and watching the gray body simmer and burn under the (coincidentally also very bright) beam of power, those memories came surging. The pupils in her dark eyes narrowed to near-pinpoints, fixated onto the cocky demon. He hurt her, he scared her and more importantly, he ignored her after. This would absolutely cost the enemy.
But, Nal was still a very specific majin and her fury wasn't manifested by enraged screaming and wanton devastation. It was a cold fury with it's target set and focused, and it was this demon. Who, to his credit, had the reflexes to jump away before the rather livid gray girl slammed into the ground, fist-first, leaving another crater in the sand.
"What in the-?" - he said, before having to dodge again. Nal wasn't the most accurate of fighters, to further her annoyance with the current situation, but she's had a little crutch to help with that - her sensing skills were on point, and it helped not missing. As the majin's tendril shifted, sensing where her enemy was, he attacked, with a powerful jab right into the stomach. "Die already, you worthless stain!" - he shouted in her face, as his fist connected, digging deep into Nal's body and causing her to draw a deep breath, the strike stretching deeper in... it took the demon a while to realise something was not quite right. Normally, that hit would either send the enemy flying or pierce right through, but this strange girl just... kept ignoring it ,staring at him with cold fury, while her form stretched, like rubber.
He blinked. And then Nal exhaled.
Her body ballooned briefly and send her opponent flying, screaming in anger and surprise, mostly the latter. It didn't last long, though, for Nal was already upon him, soaring into the sky, enveloped in the brilliant, green aura - and then diving to where the demon was going to stop and dodge. Sensing helped her gain just enough edge to anticipate that - and strike. Putting her anger into that hit, letting out a short, annoyed, semi-triumphant sound when it connected. And as her fist struck, so did several others. Ephemeral, green clones of Nal, all with that cold and serious expression on her face, jammed their fists into various parts of his body. Arms stomach, face... everywhere. Knocking the being out cold before he even got slammed into the ground, to form another, smaller crater.
Nal stared at him, opened her lips, then - exhaled, shivering visibly. "Now why did you have to be evil? You made me beat you up." she said, with sadness, with the cold anger gone, she felt only pity for this demon. Why were they always bad people?

Looking towards the Demon as he'd made an attempt to get Bass's attention and was about to speak. Just before doing so, there was an instinctual widening of his eyes as he leapt aside, a cold fury in the Majin prompting a rush attack that sent her catapulting into the ground. If nothing else, the cold rage was something that brought a smirk to the Namekian's face. The Demon had attacked her before, but it was only this final attack that provoked an infuriated response from her. That meant she had a sense of honor and integrity. Despite the motor mouth she was born with as an ecstatic sweet fueled Majin, it became readily apparent that such things were merely the foci that her personality was transmitted through. Despite what impression she might make as she talked at the speed of sound, he now fully understood there was much, much more going on down beneath in the Majin's head; a huge trait Bass looked for in his scouting efforts. He was barely even giving the Demon time to breathe, bursting after him and throwing swings again and again to keep him on the defensive. But there was some give and take, as is to be expected. Impressive in his own right relative to the situation, the Demon managed to make a successful counterattack, but the actual outcome of which even ever so slightly subverted the Namekians expectations. He was familiar with the physiology of most species that called Earth home- not on an anatomical level, but on simple facts like they were filled with vital organs and fairly structurally sturdy. He'd never seen a Majin take a hit like that, and so he never saw just how flexible their bodies were in action. Not only that but... It seemed like the hit might've been part of the plan? Or, perhaps Nal was just fighting on instinct, and using her physiology was second nature to her- Bass figured that made sense more. Though he was proper surprised when the inverse happened, and Nal ballooned outwards. Without mincing words, he did not expect the otherwise fairly petite Majin to have that much... Stuff to have a reaction like that. Though he assumed she was stretching, not actually growing in anyway; the Namekian was firing guesses off after having never seen much of the sort up to this point. It certainly looked like she had the Demon on the ropes, who catapulted towards Earth after a series of rapid punches and formed yet another crater- the land was turning into Swiss cheese. He wondered, logistically, if Martial Artists being so infamous in regards to putting holes in the ground actually caused trouble for real estate prospectors looking for potential farmland. It'd had to have happened a number of times, right? Areas pocketed with craters. Though unlike trees and whatever, dirt could be filled in, so he didn't feel too guilty in regards to Swiss cheesing the planet. Following her attack, she barely seemed to be keeping her composure according to Bass's humble opinion. The anger ran deep. Her question caused him to rub the back of his neck- supposing that it was a Majin's equivalent to whatever half corny half serious accounting pun he'd give at this point. He felt like he shouldn't interrupt, as any answer from him off to the side wasn't a replacement for the Demon's twisted perspective being brought to light itself. That was of course, if he was even conscious. HFIL, if he was even unconscious. Could just be... Dead. Bass started sensing to tell, but he wouldn't know instantly. He was proud of Nal's 'work ethic' put simply, grinning slightly. 613 | 13,350 Nal

The majin let out a deep sigh, looking down at the defeated demon. A little bit of overkill, perhaps... she lost her cool for a bit and that wasn't good. Heroes don't do that often, definitely not to just random evildoers in the middle of the desert... during a climactic battle, maybe, but here? Nah. That was bad and she felt embarassed about it. Next time, the majin would have to do better.
All in all, though, she won. This wasn't the big demon that the wolfmen had to fight, but... it was a start. One day, she may come back here and defeat that one, but that is for then. Now, there was here, and there was Bass, whom she turned to grin at.
"Okay, now that was a bit dumb of me, but I think I got it in the end... what should we do with... it? Him? Is it a he?" - Nal's head tilted as she studied the demon, she really had no idea how to tell apart what the being was. He was just too androgynous for the simple majin mind to place it. "Should we lock him up somewhere? I don't think heroes are supposed to be killing people." - she said, as if she didn't just almost obliterate the demon. Who was, miraculously, still alive, if unconscious and heavily bruised.
The gray girl shook her head, turning back to the namekian again. "And I think I need to practice more... I still can't bring all of my power to fight for me. And I got hit because I was too distracted, that's bad. Do you have any words that can help me? Advice or something?" she asked, grinning even wider, figurative sparks glowing in her eyes at the idea of being tutored by someone she was absolutely certain was a hero like she wanted to be. Dream come true indeed!
