Will was flying around the islands on his Flying Nimbus searching for someone. In one of his paws he clutched his Dragon Ball Shard which he held as a necklace, a gift from his father. And he swore that he would do something with it but hasn't had the chance to because it requires someone with great magical prowess to do so. Though Cayle Pota has told him that there is one individual that may be able to help or at least steer him in the right direction. And that witch goes by the name of Lilith Nevermore.
Of course finding someone he never met before can be rather difficult due to never having felt their aura before and thus can't be able to sense them out in that fashion. Though from the description he was given she seems to stick out like a sore thumb so it is should be easy to find him. So he scoured the skies from above, looking for a young lady in a purple witch attire. Either flying through the air on a broomstick or as a purple speck on the ground below amongst a crowd of people. He has been at this for about a few hours and so far he hasn't had any luck yet.
Perhaps he can still to at least sense for something or someone unusual and it could be her, but that could backfire and he could run into some weirdo or monster that may want to kill him. He wish he at least got more of a description of what she was like personality wise so he could think of a place where she would be. Though the fact she is a witch may give him some kind of clue. He sees a town nearby and on a small island and away from that town is a graveyard. It does seem a little morbid, but considering how witches can be it's the best place he can start looking.
Swerving down on his magical cloud he reaches the graveyard and hops of his cloud and begins strolling through the graveyard with his staff in hand. Though while walking he swears he saw some kind of floating orb fly around a tombstone. Must be his eyes playing tricks or some kind of heat stroke. Though his sixth sense is giving him a strange vibe he never felt before. A quite melancholic and cold vibe that is sending chills down his spine.
Either he has found Lilith or something else entirely.

Sun blazed from a cloudless sky. Warm winds played with the leaves of palm trees. Gulls mocked those who couldn’t fly with their shrieking laughter. Yet even they scattered when a certain cloud zoomed past. Down below, countless tourists wandered lazily along the streets and roads of the Southern Islands like living rivers of bright colors. ...Seriously, every holiday shirt in sight was somehow more garish than the last. In stark contrast, the graveyard beyond the edge of the town was lonely and devoid of such lively colors. The palette was all gray and brown here, with an occasional touch of faded green and black. Splotches of dry, dying grass dotted the murky ground. Cracked and crumbling tombstones of various shapes and sizes formed uneven lines. Few came here willingly, when there were far more inviting tourist traps to explore. Yet some actually preferred it that way. Just as Will’s sharp sixth sense already noticed, there was a chill in the air. A peculiar energy signature loomed further ahead. It was meager, by comparison, yet carefully controlled. Elegant even. Where the aura of a traditional fighter could flare or even blaze like an open flame, this was more akin to an icicle. Steady. Sharp. And oh so very cold... With careful focus, one could also feel an unmistakable tingle of magic in it. It twinkled like tiny snowflakes in a winter breeze. Following the sign of life would lead the wanderer to a strange scene... A young lady was inspecting a broken gravestone. Long locks of lavender hair cascaded down her back. Her dark robes were long enough to sweep the ground. A pointy, wide-brimmed hat shielded her deathly pale skin from the harsh sun. Under her arm she carried a thick, black tome and from her belt hung a decorated metal wand. If the outfit and the accessories weren’t enough of a hint, an actual broom hovered nearby. She truly was like a witch that had stepped out of a story book. Near the witch sat a tiny chest. It seemed ordinary, until it suddenly moved. Tapping on its stubby, wooden legs, it turned towards the approaching stranger and stared without eyes. The lid opened, revealing a row of sharp teeth. A guttural growl escaped from its depths, an unsettling sound that should’ve belonged to something far bigger. “Calm down, Chester. It is just another foolish tourist.”Reminiscent of a silver bell, the young lady’s voice chimed out. It silenced the growling immediately. She turned to face the new presence with a tired sigh. “No, there is not a bathroom around here, so away with you before I...” Her voice trailed off, however, when she got a proper look. Instead of yet another fat, sunburnt man who had wasted his life in a cubicle, she found... a cat. Lilith’s half-closed gaze slowly swept over the furry creature’s attire. It rose from the end of his cape, along the orange gi all the way up to the bell at the end of his staff. Her frigid stare narrowed into a glare. Only one type of mortal wore such tasteless vestments... Martial artists. She had never heard of a cat being one, but nowadays such foolishness hardly surprised her. With the prejudice fresh in her mind, she regarded the stranger with all the warmth of a winter night. “What do you want, mortal?”Words: 562 | 562 Natural PL at start: 12,251 Tag: Will O. Wisp

From he felt she didn't seem entirely benevolent but she doesn't seem very friendly from what he felt from her aura. Though at the very least it's good to know that he wasn't stereotyping witches or anything cause she does look a lot like he imagined she would. The tiny treasure chest pet certainly is new, though Will admit it is kind of cute. One thing Pota did describe about her personality was "snobish". The way she spoke to him did seem like the kind of "I am better then you" attitude a noblewoman would have, and the fact she referred to him as a mortal with disdain which isn't quite true technically but it'd be best if he didn't try to correct her. The best way to deal with her would be to talk to her with the respect she craves. "Lady Nevermore, I have been searching far and wide for a witch of your talents and abilities. An acquaintance of mine you might know as Cayle Pota has pointed me to you to aide me in my quest. Allow me to explain," Will said. He then shows her the Dragon Ball Shard necklace hanging down from it's neck, a single red star remains on this piece as the sun gleams over it's orange exterior. And Lilith would also most certainly be able to detect that there would be a mystical energy emanating from this shard. "This is a shard of the Dragon Balls of legends but you may have already figured that out. This was a gift given to by my father and instead of using it to create some kind of weapon or tool I had thought of something more personal. I want to bond with the power of this Dragon Ball Shard so that I may achieve greater strength then I ever had before. And I will pay any price you are willing to give," Will said. He waited for her response, he just hoped what he said was able to make her think kindly of him. If not then well either he'll have to find some way to convince or somehow found another witch. Which are kind of hard to find nowadays it seems. Many magic users are prevalent but he hasn't heard of many famous witches. Though it could be they are usually not looked at too kindly from what he read in the history books. Word Count: 402 Total Word Count: 822 Tag: Lilith Nevermore

First impressions mattered. Magical or not, words held a great deal of power. Choosing them poorly could end in a disaster. Nothing could save a ruined first impression, no. But... Choosing one’s first words just right could thaw even the coldest of hearts. ...Erm, okay, maybe not exactly thaw, but definitely lessen the chill. Lady Nevermore was visibly taken aback by hearing her rightful title from a total stranger. Her icy expression softened. A small, smug smile crept onto her lips. In her mind, a skeptical, little voice reminded her that anyone using such honeyed words was definitely plotting something... Right... She knew that, of course, but she wouldn’t let the tiny detail stop her from enjoying the moment. Unfortunately, the mention of King Pota dampened the noblewoman’s mood somewhat. Even when that man wasn’t around, he still managed to get on her nerves. Now that was a fearsome talent... Still, the reveal answered several questions that had been bubbling in the cauldron of her mind. Good. That would save her valuable time. Lilith’s gaze wandered onto the curious necklace hanging from the cat’s neck. She scoffed and rolled her eyes when he had the gall to insist it was a shard from the so-called Dragon Balls. In all her research, she had never found any actual evidence that such artifacts ever existed. If they were real, surely she would have gotten her hands on one by now, no? Exactly. Thus they didn’t exist. But she had to admit the mystical energy imbued in that shard felt quite potent... Once the stranger finished his plea, the witch suddenly aimed a sharp point at him. “First off, when seeking the favor of someone, it is common courtesy to introduce yourself first.” It may have been the norm among martial artists to communicate exclusively through grunting and punching, but the young noble would not tolerate anything less than proper manners in her presence. She gave him a moment to actually present his name. But only a moment and not a second more. Lady Nevermore’s accusing finger then shifted onto the shard. “Secondly, a Dragon Ball Shard? You actually believe in such a silly fairy tale?” She folded her arms with a scoff. “How droll.” As far as she was concerned, it was nothing more than an empty legend passed along by peasants around campfires. The shard, on the other hand, was quite real. “Thirdly...” As Lilith trailed off briefly, her tone lost its harsh edge. “...You should be careful what you wish for.” Understanding that power came at a price was sensible, being willing to pay any price far less so. “Bonding artifacts to a living soul is a difficult art, one that few have ever learned, much less mastered.” While her pride didn’t let her outright admit it, bonding magic wasn’t quite her expertise. After studying the mysterious energy of the shard for a moment, the witch sighed. “But since you have come all this way, I do not need Divination to see that you have already made up your mind... Very well then... I will graciously lend you my invaluable aid.” Tch, her heart had gone soft lately... She was blaming Queen Ty’s damnable influence for this. Lilith gathered her thoughts. Her expression froze over again, the cold facade hiding her mixed feelings. “However, the price shall be steep indeed.” She already knew exactly what she wanted. “You will become my servant and follow my every whim without question until the day you die.” If there was a time to rethink that statement about any price, this was definitely it. Fortunately, she was in a good enough mood, leaving the cat with some room to haggle. Words: 616 | 1178 Natural PL at start: 12,251 Tag: Will O. Wisp

Oh right he forgot to introduce himself first, he seems to have made a bad habit of doing that. Also she doesn't seem to think that Dragon Balls are real. I mean it is fair after all Will was not a believer until he saw one of the powers of one of it's wishes in action with the giant shark incident. Though of course that was covered up by the government as to not scare the public so she wouldn't know that let alone it was created from a wish on the Dragon Balls. "Oh pardon me, my name is Will O. Wisp, just a humble old member of the Turtle School." he replied. She of course explains it is a difficult process to bond his soul with such an artifact. Though she seems confident that she can do it from how steep the price is for a gracious aide. Yeah being an eternal servant for a wish would get in the way of being a Martial Artist. Especially cause as far as he knows he can never die thanks to inheriting some of his father's immortality that prevents them from dying of age which means it truly would be eternal. Though he believes he has a way to be able to lower the price. He strokes his chin after hearing her price and looks down solemnly. "Why I would be honored to be the servant of such a powerful witch despite my healthy living being one hundred and one years old mean the day I die could be any day now. Don't want a servant that you wouldn't be able to use for a while. Though I do have over three hundred thousand Zeni that I managed to collect in my lifetime. Surely you would need such money to be able to spend on the many amenities a witch needs. Just name a price within the amount I have and it will be yours," Will said. Though as he is talking he begins to notice even more floating orbs with some kind of wispy like tails floating around. The heat must be still getting to him for him to keep seeing these things. He gets out a canteen of water and begins drinking from it. While refreshing and cools him off he still seems to be seeing it. And some of these strange orbs are looking like they have the wavy silhouettes of people around them, well at the very least the upper half of people he doesn't seem to see the faint image of their lower halves for some reason. Wait a minute, glowing orbs in a graveyard, faint images of people, could it be that is seeing... "Actually now you wouldn't happen to know anything about seeing spirits do you? I thought it was the sun bothering me but I seem to be seeing strange glowing orbs with wispy tails flying around this graveyard. Surely you must know a thing or two about seeing spirits Lady Nevermore." Will said. Word Count: 510 Total Word Count: 1,332 Tag: Lilith Nevermore

Finally the witch had a name for the furry face. Will O. Wisp... The name didn’t ring any bells, nor did the school he mentioned. Still, at the very least, she would grant him the courtesy of remembering him. Until she decided otherwise. The reaction to the price got a flat stare in return. Lilith’s tone dripped with sarcastic snark. “And what, pray tell, is that in human years? Twenty-one at most?” Cat years worked something along those lines, she surmised. Still, he was right in that she had no use for a servant at death’s door. It would’ve been a losing trade. However, the counter-offer didn’t spark any warmth either. The noblewoman scoffed, yes scoffed, at his money. “Hmph, you think you can buy me like some common harlot?” Frankly, she was a little insulted. “Money is for peasants. A lady such as myself can simply take what she desires.” Thus it had always been and thus it would be forever more. Well... In truth, the young lady had been forced to spend actual coin lately... Because the yokels around here didn’t know who she was... And if she tried to take what she wanted by force, then King Pota or Sir Miyazawa would no doubt stop her. But that was beside the point! She outright refused to accept something so boorish as simple money for payment! As the last Nevermore, she had a reputation to uphold. The witch waved the whole idea aside coldly. “Any amenities I need I can simply conjure.” She folded her arms again, an impenetrable social barrier. “So if you truly desire my help... You had best think of something else. Something I cannot get without you.” Knowledge was the most rare and precious commodity, followed closely by rare artifacts and ingredients. Any of those she would accept. ...In sufficient amounts of course. When Will brought up the lingering spirits, Lilith let out an exhausted, irritated sigh. “Bah, do not remind me... Those spectral pests loiter everywhere... Like rats...” She cast a venomous glance at the glowing orbs wandering around. “Worse yet, they constantly whine empty threats or moan about their past regrets.” Even now she could hear their hollow whispers. It was always ‘curse’ this, ‘stop desecrating my grave’ that... Didn’t they have anything better to do? While the martial artist may have been curious about communicating with ghosts, the witch had an entirely opposite idea. “Just ignore them. They will go away eventually.” As a born practitioner of magic, she had always been naturally attuned to the unseen powers all around them. To her, being able to see spirits was a mundane feat. Actually Will was one hundred and one in human years but he didn't feel like correcting her since he already managed to talk her out of being a slave. Though as far he knew most Beastmen usually lived longer then their normal animal counterparts. Although it seems to this woman there is barely a difference between them. Hopefully he can be able to get her to open up one day though she seems to have a lot of walls locked around her heart. Also she not only confirms that those are spirits and she too can see them which means they are not a heat or sun stroke based hallucination, but also hear them as well. While he can see them somewhat he doesn't seem to hear anything from them even with his impeccable feline ears. "Hmm, you can see them but unlike me you can't hear them? Interesting, you seemed to be more one with the spirits then I am. I did have a near death experience once maybe that's what awakened this ability or perhaps I have a latent magic ability." Will pondered. Although remembering what he came for he shook his head.
"Sorry about that getting off topic, while I can't offer my services as your servant I could at the very least try to help you with magical experiments. Even if I have to play guinea pig I am still quite a hardy martial artist so you will find it be quite difficult to kill me. Or perhaps if there are rare and hard to find ingredients for whatever you wish to brew I can always find some for you. Even if they are in the most dangerous corners of the planet if that's what it take to pay for your services I will do so," Will said.
Though unbeknownst to Will someone is watching them through a crystal ball. A smoke pipe in hand as a mysterious woman takes a puff and exhales. The smoke making an eerie swirl around her.
"Such interesting individuals, the last remaining member of the Nevermore clan and a Martial Artist youkai. It's been a while since I invited customers into my shop. Usually I just let people find me by accident but I can't pass on this wonderful business opportunity," the mysterious woman said.
Then before Will and Lilith appear two strange sheets of paper from two puff of smokes. With a seal on them with the Kanji for Nori on the back, and on the front is a illustration of a butterfly emerging from a cocoon made of seaweed. Will is confused at the sudden appearances of these sheets. The noblewoman quirked a skeptical brow at the cat’s claim of a near death experience. Any mention of magic always piqued her curiosity and this was no different. Her red eye swept over him once more, looking deeper, what mortal eyes couldn’t see. Hm, a latent magical ability was the more accurate term for his... condition. Many of his traits did match a certain creature described in her late aunt’s monster encyclopedia... Bakeneko, was it? Setting the idle pondering aside for the moment, Lilith found some cold semblance of a smile. At last Will mentioned something amusing. Hard to kill, hm? “Rest assured, if I wanted to kill you...” Her tone darkened. “...I would have done so already.” She spoke without a hint of brag or boast, so sure she was of her magical might. ...No matter how inaccurate her belief may have been. Rather than dwell on the grim threat, the wicked witch cupped her chin. “However, I could use courier to fetch me certain ingredients.” She could’ve named several plants that grew in the most inconvenient locations. Active volcanoes, sweltering jungles, lower class suburbs... She would rather not visit any of those. “Then, for my payment I will-”Before the young lady could finish that thought, however, a puff of magic manifested a piece of paper before her. “-Ack.” ...And a mischievous gust of wind blew it right into her face. It was abrupt and awkward enough to even give the refined woman a pause. Lilith yanked the invading paper from her features. She squinted at the odd illustration. More than that though, faintly twinkling scribblings appeared before her eyes. Witch writing, hm? Her annoyed squint slowly narrowed into an irritated glare with each word read. “Nori...” The idle mutter left her lips without a destination, meant for no one in particular. Now she was most certain it hadn’t been the weather playing tricks on her. No, this was all clearly quite intentional. The witch tapped the invitation and it rolled up neatly into her hand. “As I was saying before someone so rudely interrupted me...” She had no doubt that someone was still watching. “I accept your offer. You shall fetch me a list of rare plants and in return I will help you bond with your...” She hesitated, briefly searching for a word. “...shard.” There, said like that it didn’t sound so utterly ridiculous. Lilith waved the tube of paper dismissively. “However, like I mentioned earlier, binding living souls is very difficult...” Her soul was retching at the mere thought of what was coming. “Thus we will have to consult... an expert on the subject...” Merely saying it left a terrible taste in her mouth. She fought back the wave of nausea. “Witch... eugh... Nori”With a wave of hand, the witch called her broom to her side. Likewise, the little jewel box snoozing at her feet shook itself awake. She lowered her hand towards it. The box promptly shrank to the size of a tinderbox and hopped into her roomy sleeve. She sat down on her odd vehicle, ready to leave. The noblewoman shifted her attention back onto the martial artist. “Fortunately for you, Nori seems to have taken special interest... Hence that invitation. You should feel honored, I suppose. The elusive Sea Witch rarely invites any customers. Usually poor, unfortunate souls simply stumble upon the pitiful shack she so brazenly calls a house.” She could hazard several guesses as for why the two of them had been suddenly invited. None of them were very flattering, however, so she kept them to herself. Just not out of politeness, no. Rather, she was saving them for when she actually saw her dear colleague again... Will did thought the fact that she thinks she can threaten him adorable. Though while she is weaker he still makes sure not to show it on his face or even let out a slight chuckle. Even if there is a massive difference between them her magic could be troublesome to deal with. He could be turned into a frog and have his legs deep fried if he so much as coughed at her threat. However she hasn't done anything extremely evil yet as far as he knows though, and he has a feeling that her aura could one day warm up. At the very least potion ingredient delivery boy seems to have caught her interest in terms of payment. However they are interrupted by two strange pieces of paper. Will's invitation gently floats down to him as he tries to make out what it means. Luckily Lilith explains that it seems they have been invited by a witch named Nori who has the power to do what Will asks and they even were invited to her place. Though the fact she seems to be absolutely disgusted with her wary cause she may be hard to deal with, hopefully with Lilith by his side he won't be tricked by her. "Well I suppose since you know the way better then I do that I suppose that's a fair payment. Though I may have to do more trips to get those rare plants for you you in exchange for some magic lessons. I want to improve myself in every way possible and if that means unlocking the magical potential that is locked deep within me then so be it," Will said.
And with a whistle Will calls in his ride. A flying cloud that he is able to sit on. A cloud that Lady Nevermore might recognize as a rare Flying Nimbus. "You may lead the way whenever you're ready Lady Nevermore," Will said politely with a bowing gesture.

If Lilith’s ride was odd, then Will’s vehicle was definitely eye-catching as well. Curiosity slipped through her icy expression as she stared at the magical cloud. She had only heard tales, but that definitely fit the description of a Flying Nimbus. The white coloration meant someone like her couldn’t ride it, but her interest was purely academic anyway. She had never gotten her hands on a proper specimen. Something to think about... The witch shook off the brief distraction. “Then we are off. Do try to keep up.” The sage would find that her words weren’t merely empty boasting. Her broom took off like an arrow from a finely tuned bow, shooting high to the skies. When it came to speed, her vehicle could give even the legendary cloud a fair race. Regular clouds drifted far below the flying duo. At their speed, the destination came to view sooner rather than later. From high up, it was easy to spot a lone island that strongly resembled a seashell. On it was a strange shop with a strong eastern vibe. A dark, tiled roof gave nice contrast to the wall painted with an elaborate flower pattern. Paper lanterns decorated the entrance. A sign at the door promised a discount on all charms and blessings. Small bells above the door jingled as Lilith stepped into the shop. Light gently filtered in through a skylight. The walls were lined with all sorts of magical oddities, ranging from pickled eyeballs to colorful potion bottles. Wisps of white smoke lingered in the air. Smoky like the air, a deep, seductive voice trailed across the house. “Ah, welcome, Lady Nevermore and Mister Bakeneko~ I’m glad you accepted my invitation~” At a nearby couch an older woman lounged lazily. Her stringy, dark hair stretched far like strands of spiderweb, barely kept in check by twin hair pins decorated by white silken ribbons bearing a crescent moon. To say she was dressed in an elaborate, bejeweled kimono was a bit of a misstatement considering how openly she showed off her pale skin and cleavage. Especially the cleavage. Her eyes held an enchanting red glow. A smoking pipe rested in her hand. The mysterious woman took a long drag. Smoke escaped with a soft sigh. “You look well, all things considered~ So sorry that I missed your clan's funeral~” While her features remained calm and collected, her tone smiled mischievously. In stark contrast, Lilith greeted her dear colleague with all the warmth of a winter storm. “Good afternoon, Lady Nori. I see you are still too poor to dress properly. The business is slow, I take it?” Her icy eyes met the glowing gaze fearlessly. “Ho hum~ The business is going just fine, thank you~ No need to be so hostile simply because you’re envious of my talents~”“Talents? Is that what you call them now? My, being so visibly overweight certainly has not affected your confidence.”The air crackled with tense static... Meanwhile, Chester hopped out of hiding and swelled to its usual size. With its eyeless stare it peered around the shop, until its curious keyhole found... an otter. Resting on the shopkeeper’s shoulder was a small creature with silky, brown fur and eyes like two black pearls. The familiars locked gazes... Approaching each other slowly, carefully... After a moment of uneasy silence, the otter chirped inquisitively. In return, the mimic clamped its lid decisively. This back and forth continued twice more. Suddenly the furry rodent bounced excitedly and scurried off. Clattering eagerly, the mimic gave chase. Tiny feet tapped all across the shop as the unlikely friends played. Clearly having a new playmate outweighed whatever grudge their owners harbored. Words: 603 | 2237 Natural PL at start: 12,251 Tag: Will O. Wisp

Will was surprised to see something that could be able to compete with his Flying Nimbus in terms of speed. That must be a very high quality enchanted broomstick. Though he is still able to catch up with her and keep close. When they got to the island when Will landed he could feel the aura of the woman inside. There was something off about this aura he couldn't get a good reading on this Nori's personality and he is unsure if it's because of some magical power she possesses or if she is so complex that she is beyond his understanding. When they walked in Will admired the decor of the place for sure. And was surprised to see that this Nori woman was so fair looking. Though she seems to have a history with Lilith's family. And he can see why Lilith dislikes her, complete opposites like night and day. Luckily the tension was removed once Nori's otter familiar started to play with Lilith's mimic familiar. Though Will couldn't help but think there was something familiar about that otter. Nori's attention was taken away as she watched her familiar play with Lilith's. "Wakame does tend to get a little rowdy when he's in this form, now then Mister Bakeneko care to show me the Dragon Ball Shard you possess," Nori. "Wait, she knew that's what we came here for already, but how did she" Will thought. "If you're wondering how I know that I didn't to probe your mind or use my crystal ball, your lips got quite loose during that Youkai Party you stumbled on that fated Halloween night. A couple drinks of spiked punch and you told many interesting things to my faithful familiar," she explained. Will then remembered that one Halloween party with that otter beastman that called him a Youkai and the strange party he found himself at but he thought it was just a warped memory of a Halloween party he went from the spiked punch he drank. He looks to the otter running around the room and realizes why he felt familiar. That otter was the one that took him to the party. And now he's worried what and how much he told him causing him to blush so hard it can be seen through the white fur on his cheeks. "Well um I am sure not everything he told you was accurate, but nevertheless yes that's what I came for. And I have the Shard in possession." he said. Presenting it from his necklace Nori takes it and studies carefully. First she takes it to a table nearby and opens a book. Flipping through the pages she compares the book to a picture of a Dragon Ball. Then she tosses it to the ground as the shard clatters across the ground. Though the shard didn't receive a single scratch. Picking it up again she takes it in her hands and starts speaking incantations as magical glowing runes floated out of her mouth as she spoke. The runes swirled around the Dragon Ball Shard until it began to glow. The glowing from the Shard turns into a bright flash as Will and Nori cover their eyes, as the light dims a shadow/silhouette showing a mighty serpentine dragon appears, Lilith would surely be able to feel the full great magical energy that dwells within this one shard. One tied to the legend of the Dragon Balls though truly a shadow of it's former self as this one is nowhere near as big as legends say he was. The shadow then retreats back into the shard as the runes dissipate. "After all of these years, proof of the legend and I hold it in the palm of my hands." Nori mused. Word Count: 628

When Nori revealed the source of her information, Lilith directed a slow and flat stare at the martial artist. “I knew it... Beneath that supposedly sagely guise you are still a simpleton.” Disappointment dripped like venom from her lips. She was, once again, reminded that all martial artists were morons. Honestly, she felt rather foolish for having briefly believed otherwise. The surly witch watched while her colleague studied the shard with a number of standard -and less than standard- methods. Her interest was only roused once an actual spell was cast. Words held power. And... As much as she loathed to admit... Condensing said words into proper runes had always been one of her weakest fields. However, the revelation of a dragonic figure got a rather cold reception. In fact, Lilith rolled her eyes at Nori’s musing. “My, what a lovely, little light show. Perhaps next you can tell us about giant beanstalks and pumpkin carriages, while we are on the subject of children’s fables.” She was still most certain that this artifact had nothing to do with that silly legend. Dragon Ball... Hmph, such a ridiculous concept. On the other hand, the Sea Witch held the exact opposite conviction. ...As was the case in many things between them. “Please, I just proved the connection between the shard and the legendary dragon.” She admired the magical artifact in her grasp, quite enamored with it. Aaaand the Wicked Witch shot the suggestion down immediately. “All you have proven is that considerable magical power dwells within the shard, which I already knew. It taking a draconic form is a coincidence at best.” As far as she was concerned, true magic required layers upon layers of research and proof. This thing hadn’t even been peer reviewed. “You are just an embittered skeptic, blind to the wonders of the world.”“And you are a naive idiot who latches onto every legend you hear.”Before the two could get into another tense glaring contest, Nori broke it off and turned to Will instead. “Now, darling~” Her red eyes lit up with a faint glow. “Wouldn’t you consider selling this shard to me, hm~? It would further my business and I would be forever grateful.” Wisps of smoke danced in her breathy words. The honeyed voice gently circled him like a warm embrace. “In turn, I could give you anything you desire~ A-ny-thing~” The words took a strange echo, ringing right through one’s skull. Meanwhile, Lilith calmly reached for her wand and muttered an incantation. “By the power of Nevermore, I shatter thy magic. Counterspell.” Rather unceremoniously, she poked the sharp prongs of the wand into her colleague’s rump. Violet magic crackled like static. Followed by a light... pop. Much akin to a balloon being pricked by a needle, the mesmerizing atmosphere promptly popped. The Sea Witch yelped and twitched, holding her behind. Her eyes lost their glow and the warmth of her words vanished. She shot a venomous glare at the younger witch. The Wicked Witch glared right back. “Negotiate without your charm spells, you shameless harlot.” She pointed her wand at the martial artist. “And you, do not dare to forget our agreement.” With that, she put the wand away and gave the two room to continue their... negotiation. Everything had a price, of course, and she didn’t care what the cat had to do to convince her colleague to help him. Words: 568 | 2805 Natural PL at start: 12,251 Tag: Will O. Wisp

"I've never been good when it comes to alcohol and things like, a lightweight as some would say, that is why I tend to stray away from the stuff." Will said. After all there was that one time in his thirties where he had to go to rehab due to a catnip addiction, though that's a story for another time. As he watched Lilith and Nori bicker before him and tried not to intervene. As he was certain if he tried to diffuse the situation or take sides it would just make things worse. Especially since he knows well in fact the legend is real. Though better not to make an enemy of Lilith by agreeing with Nori. When Nori tried to use a charm spell on him, it didn't have any affect really. Whether it be his willpower, his slightly damaged brain that still hasn't fully healed yet, or the fact he always have his eyes mostly closed prevented him from being charmed by her spell. Though luckily Lilith was able to stop her from trying to hypnotize him. In a very humorous fashion that Will couldn't but let out a chuckle. Lilith then of course reminds Will of their agreement. "Don't worry for taking me here, and perhaps for some lessons like we discussed, I will get the finest potion ingredients I could find on any corner of the planet you ask of me," Will said.
He then turned towards Nori. "Sorry but this Shard is not for sale, while I am willing to pay for the bonding for it I can't part with it. It has sentimental value to me as it was a gift from my father." Will explained.
"Oh yes the famed Cat Sage from up in his tower, though while I usually ask for 120,000 Zeni payment up front for such a procedure. After all I do need money to give to Wakame when he goes out to buy supplies. There is another form of payment I require of you." Nori said. "It's not years off my life or anything like that is it?" Will asked. "No no this one is actually much simpler, you see I haven't had much business these days. Long ago many people used to sail to this island to have whatever desire they wanted granted when becoming desperate and were unable to get a hold of the Dragon Balls themselves. While I am not as potent as Shenron I was able to have all of these requests granted through equivalent exchange," Nori explained. "You mean they had to give something equal to something they asked for?" Will replied. "Exactly, and of course the more extreme the desire the more that has to be given. For instance one might wish to become stronger, a simple wish as I can do to cast that is a potential unlocking spell and they only need to have stay absolutely still and wait in place for a while until the ritual is complete. However if someone wants to wish for something like good luck to be able to win at the lottery or other things then they also get cursed with the chance to become extremely unlucky if they ever spilled salt or broke a mirror that sort of thing. Equivalent exchange based magic has a lot of limits and conditions but those limits and conditions can also strengthen it. Why do you think I never leave from my humble little island, I cast a ritual long ago that allowed me to stay eternally young as long as I never left this island and thus made it my permanent home." Nori explained. "To be rooted into one spot in exchange for eternal youth, would such a thing be really worth it? I can only imagine the boredom and tedium such a fate would bring. No wonder she invited us if she was that desperate for company." Will thought. "Equivalent exchange does indeed sound powerful but how come you have no customers and I am just now learning of you?" Will said. "Unfortunately after a few times where equivalent exchange cause a couple client's death due to their outrageous requests people thought I was some sort trickster promising pleasure but giving suffering in return. After a while people stopped coming and forgot about me, becoming a legend much like that shard you hold. Now and then a castaway or sailor comes ashore and I manage to get some business done. Though it happens so rarely nowadays, but if one up and coming little Martial Artist were to spread to read in my good favor." Nori added. "Oh you're asking me to give you free publicity basically that's fine I can do that," Will said. "Fantastic, here are some fliers you can give out as well," Nori said. She then handed Will various fliers with a drawing of her at the cover. The flier details the location she is in as well as that she sells magical items, amenities, and takes special requests. As well as a warning at the bottom to not to ask for something too big for her special requests. "Oh and one more thing, if either of you happen to find an artifact someone made with one of those shards that's no one is using at the moment. Be sure to send them my way. I would love to have those sorts of items to study myself. Wouldn't hurt to expand the merchandise either." she stated. With a big inhale of smoke pipe and a long exhale she grabs a boom and starts sweeping off a bunch of junk such as magazines and empty scallop shells that were lying around what appeared to be a drawn out circle on the ground. Covered in strange symbols and runs that Will could only surmised was used for ritual based magic. "Alright since you are wearing the Shard and have been keeping it close to you for a while you have already bonded with it somewhat so this should be easy. Just sit in the center of the circle and relax and don't move an inch or else we will start the ritual over again. Oh, by the way, you may feel some slight pain during this so just grit your teeth through it." Nori casually said. With that warning in mind Will sat down in the center of the circle and began to meditate. Relaxing himself for what may take thirty minutes, an hour. He didn't know but he was prepared to wait a whole day if that's what it took. Mentally preparing himself for the pain she mentioned as well. Lilith didn’t bother hiding her smug smile when Nori admitted that business was indeed slow. Her lips curled, chiming a wordless ‘told you so’. It served that fool right for wasting magic on mortals. Simpletons never understood that all magic carried a price, then complained when the price was too much to pay. The younger witch simply couldn’t resist rubbing salt on the wound. “You are begging for a cat to drag more foolish mortals to your doorstep? How pathetic.” This was a perfect example of why it was far better to be feared than loved. A wicked witch didn’t have to care what mortals thought of her. They would all bow down the same. While the Sea Witch and the Cat Sage prepared for the ritual, the Wicked Witch was quite content to simply sit down and watch with mild curiosity. She opened her big, black tome on her lap and started leafing through the pages. Rituals, rituals, rituals... Ah, here. Though she doubted she would see anything new here, she was still ready to take notes. However, Nori had a different idea. Once Will sat down, she turned to her colleague with a strained attempt at a smile. “Now then...” She hesitated briefly, trying to arrange her thoughts in a way that wouldn’t give the callous girl more room to mock her. “I could use a helping hand and any mana you care to spare.” There, good enough. Lilith allowed herself a snide smile, treating the suggestion like a tasteless joke. “And why, pray tell, would I waste even an ounce of my power by helping you?” She knew for a fact that the older witch could do this alone. Having to share mana with a lesser caster would be humiliating. And no argument could convince her otherw- “Because if you don’t, we’ll be stuck with each for the rest of the day.”The noblewoman lost her smile. Her eyes shifted onto the silent cat, then back onto her colleague. After a pensive pause, she finally nodded. “...A fair point. Well made.” For the first time in, well, ever she found herself agreeing with a lesser witch. What was the world coming to? Tch, no matter. No one would ever get to know about this... Lilith rose from her seat. She held the open book up in the air. “Awaken, o’ Tome of Nevermore, and share thy secrets.” With a jolt of magic, it started floating. Arcane knowledge from across centuries filled her head. Mana flowed like a river through her limbs. Such power... It always felt so wonderfully intoxicating. Accompanied by the floating tome, the young witch stepped up to the magic circle. She directed her hands towards two of the symbols along the ring and splayed her fingers. Softly, gently, violet energy started flowing and filling the shapes. It spread around the meditating cat, filling the circle. Breathing out slowly, Lilith gathered her focus. Responding to her will, the magic lost the violet coloration, turning white, almost colorless even. “There, now you can simply focus on casting your ritual. I shall match your magical wavelength.” Sharing mana was quite similar to sharing ki. One had to take great care to make sure the sudden surge of power would help, rather than harm. Fortunately, she had always prided herself in having absolute control. And Nori knew that. Words: 560 | 3365 Natural PL at start: 12,251 Tag: Will O. Wisp

"Perfect, that should be enough to perform the ritual," Nori said. As the ritual circle and runes glowed brightly a shadowy serpentine dragon begins to wrap around Will from his shard. It starts to fly up in the air and begins flying in a spiral motion. Before diving towards Will and phasing through him. And that's where Will started to feel that pain Nori mentioned. Though compared to most battles he has been through this is nothing compared to any pain he has felt in his life. He stayed absolutely calm and silent still in his meditation pose throughout the process. Not a gritting of teeth, a twitch of pain, not even a single grunt came from his mouth. Nori was surprised to see such pain tolerance cause she was actually lying about it being only "a little pain". Made her wonder what kind of physical trauma he went to before coming here or how strong he truly is. Cause he hasn't shown her his true power yet, nor did he show it or talked about it to Wakame. Though as if subconsciously Will's power begins to rise steadily as the power from the Dragon Shard is being fused with the Cat Sage's. Slowly the force of said power is starting to make a sort of wind/breeze that is starting to blow things from the epicenter of the power. Nori's various magical knick nacks begin to shake as she uses her magic to try to keep them from falling off as she also tries to hold her kimono down. Wakame is trying to push back against the wind before rolling back into the wall. Though the sheer energy they could feel from Will then started to skyrocket and spike. And as it finally got to a point where it reached the true maximum power that he was before the ritual, it now began to increase beyond that. However, Nori is starting to have second thoughts about this. "I heard he was powerful but I had no idea he would be this strong especially being over 100 years old. And yet he'll only get stronger as martial artists tend to do but his recent metamorphosis into Bakeneko, his old age, and his great power could awaken a terrible beast. An infamous Youkai that some Bakeneko rarely become and are usually killed before or their tails cut off before they even have the chance to. And yet, his aura feels so gentle, like a calm river, but with enough rain, even such a stream would become a raging rapid enveloping all in its path. An emotional ticking time bomb that could either become a powerful ally or threat." she thought to herself. After the shadowy dragon fully entered Will's body did the power calm down as Will woke up from his meditation and looked at himself. In awe at his newly required power. He held up the Dragon Shard necklace in his paws. As his eyes opened with shock showing their sapphire blue color. "All that came from this one shard?" he asked. "Well such a power-up from this ritual is only relative to the strength of the fusee so it's mostly yours it fused with. Though great power is not all you acquired, now that you have a piece of the great Eternal Dragon within you you can be able to summon that shadow at your will to your beck and call." Nori explained. She wrote something down on a notecard and handed it to Will. "This is the summoning spell you must chat before summoning it," she told him. Will scratched his head as he looked at these odd gibberish words. "Cha la head cha la?" he said quizzically. Before a large blue ghost-like Dragon emerges from Will's black. Its muscular arms folded, its wings flapping proudly, and spouts of fire fuming from it's nostrils. The entity's red eyes looked around the room as it then started lock eyes with Lilith. "You who have fused with me, I now shall aide you whenever you wish for my assistance. As my new master I ask you to give a name to me," they said. "Well actually she's not who you fused with, he's beneath you actually." Nori interrupted. The entity looked bewildered before tilting his head down to see Will. Will put a hand up and waved it a bit as if saying hello. The dragon then looked towards Nori with disappointment. "Are you serious right now?" the dragon asked. "Hey now he's a lot tougher than he looks trust me," Nori said. "Alright then I guess I can just skip the formalities then hey small fry what name are you going to give me, we're going to be stuck together for the rest of our lives so I would like for you to call me something besides Shadow Shenron or Ghost Shenron or whatever," the dragon asked with a quite more casual and also kind of rude demeanor. Will thought for a minute, trying to think of a fitting name for them. "You know there is this one song I liked to listen to long ago when training, a song about a group of heroes never giving up and gaining the power to complete the obstacles in their path despite the odds being stacked against them. Yes, I shall name you after that song, Dragon Soul!" Will said. "Oh because I am a dragon you go with naming me after a song with dragon in the title real clever kitty, ah well the way you described this song is cool though. Fine from now on you can refer to me as Dragon Soul," Dragon Soul said. Will then of course remembers that Nori mentioned a payment for this process and he gives her the Zeni for it. With a little magic, she levitates the Zeni into a decorative but coin purse that somehow manages to fit all of that money into it. Nori with her fan over her face and a sly look in her eyes turned to Lilith. "Now that that is over with while you are still here, perhaps you want to peruse my stock and perhaps buy something yourself? Unless of course, you have a special request for me as well?" Nori asked.
