The buildings of Oolong City loomed over the small martial arts ring, surrounded by the low trees and finely manicured grasses of one of the many parks of the city. The ring was a set up in a clearing between the many rose beds that gave the park it's name. Dio was already in the ring, a thick film of sweat already formed over his body as he struck the empty air infront of him in succession. Dio figured(more truthfully, was told) his quickest route to perfecting his technique was to use it as often as possible, thus he and his Sensei were had travelled the Western Lands to participate in the smaller, local tournaments to work their way up. A tournament in Oolong City could be considered a better start than most but the calibur of opponent in a place like this was a toss-up. It could be anyone from an amateur to a retired pro just looking to blow off sweat, and his sensei had tried best he could to mentally prepare Dio for the possibilty of being beaten in the dirt. "So whose the one?" Dio asked towards the corner of the ring, bouncing on his feet to keep the blood pumping, "Let's do this, I'm ready to go!" He landed on his backfoot, swinging his heel around and giving the air a few light kicks. Sweat flung from his feet, spraying a fine mist for added flourish. "I can already feel my heart beating in my ears!""What have I told you about patience, Dio?"The Old Master chided, banging his staff against the ring, "You cannot rush yourself to mastery, child. Perfection takes practice and time." Dio rolled his eyes and lowered his leg, returning to his bounce, "Can't practice if there's no opponent, Sensei. Can you find 'em? I'm burning fuel here!"Like magic, the ringside tapped the bell for attention and Dio perked up immediately, ears and tail standing full. No opponent had yet entered the ring but without waiting, the announcer began to adress the small-ish crowd, introducing first with a half-interested hand wave, "DIO OBA! Dio shouted, throwing his fists into the air, doing a small footwork dance to show off to the crowd.

"Is this really what you called me for, L? I thought we was gonna go pick up some heat."
"Stop complainin' homie, maybe you'll learn a thing or two out here."
Two intimidating looking men were strolling through Rose Park not long after they pulled up in a vehicle outside the recreational ground. One of them was a near seven foot tall former rap artist and aspiring martial artist, while the other was shorter, a self-proclaimed gangster and an experienced hustler. They were Luther and Frederick Niko respectively, two brothers who have been forced to see each other after the bigger one stopped rapping. Today, Luther had ringed Fred in order to drive him to Rose Park, fully intending on furthering his little brother's development when it comes to martial arts. However, Fred had other things in mind while they were in the car, and he voiced his frustrations annoyingly.
"Fox can teach me a thing or two, not your sorry ass. Besides, the World Matial Arts Tournament ain't for while now, is it?"
"A'ight then, you can leave if you want to."
Fred paused his dialogue for a moment as he kept walking. After being dragged out of his home by Luther, he wasn't willing to spend time his valuable time on his lonesome. So, he grumbled under his breath as he kept following his elder brother. Luther had been training on his own for a long while now, and Fred had also been training under Luther's old mentor, Fox. The smaller of the two brothers has been making decent progress, already learning how to partially channel his ki, but regardless, Fox had asked Luther to aid Fred in his progression, and while initially against the idea, Luther eventually gave in. They both heard the loud shout of Dio Oba, and they both began to head towards it. Soon enough, the two men arrived at the martial arts ring, and Luther instructed Fred to stay put in the crowd.
"You'll watch first, then I can get to knocking a bit of sense in yo ass."
After exchanging a few words with the announcer and ignoring Fred's futile protests, Luther stepped into the ring as Dio's opponent. He gave the smaller man a standard greeting.
"Wassup, fool?"

Dio would have been lying if he didn't say he didn't say that he pleased to see such a comparably large opponent before him. Not that size could not be overcome or a hindrance, but it would be a welcome match to have a true heavyweight style brawl between two giants. Dio rolled his neck with a loud crack and stepped forward to meet Luther, raising a wrapped fist for a dap, "Just rarin' to go!" he gleefully replied, squaring up to his opponent after their greeting. Dio could feel the power rolling of this guy, and though he should have been cautious in this moment, his heart was racing and his muscles tensed. It was going to be a hell of a bout. The ringside clanged to bell once more, and the bouncer ushered the two to split and take their stance. With a bounce in his step, Dio took his spot in the ring across from Luther. With a sheepish grin, he widened his stance and grounded it, bringing one knee up slightly like a leopard waiting to pounce. He raised his fists to cheek level, keeping the backs of his hands facing Luther like a boxer of old, but with his middle fingers slightly protruding from his fist at the second knuckle. This was the Rosette Style stance, the martial arts of his peoples. Specializing in quick, precise movements, this was a style of hit-and-run tactics and counter-attacks. His extended knuckles as pinpoint impact zones to strike pressure points or(more likely) the soft eyes of his opponent to blind them. Leopards were ambush predators, they were crafty, and they were patient. And when they struck, it was fatal.

Luther was impressed with his opponent's enthusiastic nature, not faltered even in the slightest despite the sheer difference he had in size when compared to his foe. It was true that size did not equal power, after all. Soon enough however, Luther will see if the power he's amassed in these past few years is enough to not get laid out in front of his little brother. He subtly cringed at the thought. There was no way he'd let that happen, no matter what goes down. His brother would never let him live in down, after all. Chuckling a bit, Luther got into position, his energy output slowly increasing as he walked over to the side of the ring opposite to where Dio stood. Being a cyborg, Luther wondered if Oba here could sense his energy in any capacity. Training often had brought Luther to great heights in terms of strength, he thought to himself. However, at the same time, he lacked technique. As of now, his fighting stance was nothing special. Balling both his large hands up into fists, he assumed a classic boxing stance, his eyes remaining fixed on their target. Observing the battle stance his adversary took, Luther attempted to predict the style he was going up against. Fox had taught him about many different forms of the arts, but never once had Luther tried to adopt any one of them as his own. He was always more of a street brawler than a martial artist, having spent a good chunk of his younger life on the road. Luther felt like it suited him, after all. Straightforward, aggressive and dangerous. Nothing else. His eyes began to narrow, and his brows began to furrow as the seconds ticked by, the frown on his face slowly fading into a smirk.

Dio smiled a bit as Luther took his position across the ring. "Hey, what do you call that style? he called out in a chipper voice, legitimately interested to know the answer. He watched carefully as Luther moved, determined to find a chink in this massive armor. He could feel absolutely nothing from this man and Dio wasn't sure if that was a sign that he was so weak as to not even register, or if he was so powerful that Dio could not yet even comprehend it. Either way, just by the sheer size and confidence of his opponent, Dio could tell he was in for a interesting fight. The referee stepped forward and nodded to both contestants. Dio began to bounce on the balls of his feet, his smile widening as the referee raised a hand and confirmed both fighters to be ready. Dio nodded and began hopping from lead food to back foot, staring down Luther. The referee looked to Luther, then to Dio,
"CONTESTANTS, are you ready?!"
Dio landed on both feet and brought his fist to his side, letting out an excited yell as his aura flared up and become visible, "Oh yeah! Let's do this!" The second the slightly larger man moved, Dio grounded himself to his back foot, brought his lead knee up and crossed his arms defensively. Despite the rigid-looking stance, his backfoot leg muscles were tensed and flowing with ki, ready to spring away at a moments notice. A bolt of lightning shot down his spine and time seemed to slow to his senses.If he could survive the opening salvo, he could strike back and show Luther that even though he was joking and having fun, he was also here for a serious fight. The larger man initially grunted in annoyance while responding to the inquiry of his battle stance. Luther himself did not really consider himself to follow any one form or style of the martial arts. He didn't even consider himself a martial artist. If anyone asked him to describe his game plans while engaging in hand-to-hand combat, he would most likely not be able to. His movements felt like they relied on reflex more than anything, as if instead of a set fight with a code of honor or sense of being civil, it was a straight brawl that had broken out down at the local bar. Luther would do his utmost best to emerge victorious in any altercation, and he did it through brute force. He eventually fully responded to the first question a few moments after his initial grunt. "Wouldn't call this a 'style' if I'd call it anything."His frown seemed to slump further downwards as the seconds ticked by and the referee confirmed both fighters to be ready for action. The large android took this opportunity to further perfect his stance, as his fists tightened, feet adjusted, muscles tensing and back bending. He nodded to the referee in response to his loud question, signaling to everyone involved that the bout was about to begin. Luther heard Fred yell something from the crowd, but Luther hardly bothered to listen to the words. It was almost as if Fred did not fully register in his brain. As of now, the man in front of him was more important than Fred. Within a few more seconds, the signal to start the match came in the form of a loud shout from the referee. Luther wasted no time in acting, his blood red aura already flaring violently around his massive form. Artificial energy travelled through his veins, all gathering to one place. Inside the former rapper's two palms were two growing sphere of crimson colored ki, fueled by nothing more than unadulterated strength. They had grown to the size of basketballs in under a second, and as soon as their sizes were acceptable, Luther opened fire. He swung his arms in Dio's direction, sending the standard energy blasts his way. His aura dissipated as quickly as it formed, evaporating in the form of wisps.

Dio stood firm across the stage from Luther, watching in awe as he created two powerful ki blasts and let them loose. Dio's own ki manipulation was no where near that level, he could barely even conjure an attack worth to be called a ki blast. But his speciality lie elsewhere. As the two balls of ki came ever close, Dio leaned in towards them. He cracked a smile and closed his eyes. Allowing his istincts to take over, he took a deep breath and was gone. The only thing left was a short wooshing as air rushed in to replace where he once stood. Dio reached out to tap Luther's shoulder, his smile widening, "Man you are serious!" He now stood just to his left, having reappeared instantly in the same manner as he disappeared, though this time the air rushed outward as he pushed it away with his sudden appearance, causing a small gust and a pop as he did. Without warning Dio put his hands to his face and shouted, "SOLAR FLARE!" causing an extremely bright light to project from his body. Wasting no time, Dio took the oppurtunity to drop into a low crouch, leaned to one side and using his arms for leverage gave a strong kick two-legged mule kick upwards towards Luther's gut. ----- WC: 205

Luther's two shots of ki were accurate, but neither of them made contact with the target. The reason for this was due to the target seemingly disappearing out of thin air. Luther's eyebrows perked as he watched his opponent avoid the attacks, and his gaze. He quickly put his fists up once again in order to return to a defensive position, having lost track of the opponent. His eyes quickly scanned the area before him, as he tried to figure out where his foe could've gone. The fighting arena wasn't that big, was it? Then, without warning, the big man felt a tap on his shoulder. Dio had somehow managed to get around him, which startled Luther. He whipped around with surprising speed, given his large frame, and was about to toss a punch, but before he could even think about doing so, a bright light flashed before his eyes. It was that same Solar Flare technique that he'd heard of and fell victim to so many damn times. If he had a zeni for everytime that he's been blinded by that technique, he'd probably be the proud owner of two vehicles. Luther's eyes closed shut as he yelled an expletive in annoyance, and his fists were back up near his face due to a reflexive movement. Within the next moment, Luther's feet were sliding against the ground after a heavy double kick slammed directly into his midsection. "Tch..."His eyesight was all blurry because of that Solar Flare technique, meaning that he wouldn't have a clear shot at the kid using his powerful energy blasts, so hand-to-hand combat is most likely the correct play in this situation. He closed his eyes, and focused. His artificial ki sense had picked up Dio's energy signal once more, and locked onto it. Then, Luther made his move. Once his slide had ended, he took two quick and large steps forward. Now in range of his target, Luther threw three quick jabs at his foe, targeting the pressure points that would disrupt his opponents natural ki flow.

Dio was light on his feet, his ears held high and proud and his tail swishing excitedly behind him. He bounced from one foot to the other, the smirk still on his face as he dropped his guard to taunt Luther again, "Dang, what do they food you? Feel like your rock solid, bu---!" The air quickly escaped his lungs as Luther brought the onslaught. The first blow landed solidly and Dio knew he was in trouble as he felt the strength sap away from his muscles. The second strike came but his senses returned to him and he deftly ducked underneath it. Dio let momentum take him and he spun onto his backfoot. "Geez, you don't... he swept his lead foot high into the air, his spin carrying his body into a flip that put a small amount of distance between the two and narrowly avoiding the third strike that came., "Play at all, do you?" There was no way he was taking this guy down so easily. That chink in his armor may as well exist, but Dio wasn't going to have time to find it, he would have to make one. He quickly shifted his stance and brought his hands up, his knuckles curled into a stylistic 'claw' fist. Luther was incredibly fast, but Dio wasn't so slow himself. He snapped a jab upward towards Luther's chin and quickly followed it up by spring from his lead foot and bring his knee up, aiming for Luther's jaw again, hopefully in the same place as the first. With his lack of clear vision, he didn't exactly hit his main targets, but at least he had managed to hit once. Luther had begun to blink blindly at his opponent, as his patience beginning to wear thin. Hot damn did this technique piss him off. He had nothing to rely on apart from his artificial ki sense, and Luther wasn't exactly too happy with it. His attacks would be blind, his blocks would be guesses, and his movements would be unsure. Eventually he'd have to learn this shit for himself if this kept happening to him. He heard his foe's voice again, noting that he had probably done some sort of damage. Pushing his annoyances aside for a moment, he smirked. "Oh trust me, I haven't even started yet."Immediately after he finished his cocky one liner, he heard the faint sound of movement coming straight towards him. It was then that his vision began to slowly come back to him, as he finally saw a blur shoot upwards towards his jawline. Eyes widening and smirk vanishing, Luther tanked the jab head on, his teeth smashing against each other as he grit them. The large man wasn't about to be let off with just that either, as a knee shot upwards next, slamming into the same area the jab did. The force of the attacks nearly lead to Luther falling over, but by quick stepping backwards a few times, he managed to avoid being on his ass. With his massive weight, you'd think it would be relatively easy to knock him over, but Luther wasn't planning on getting dropped today, and definitely not by a small dude in front of his brother. He now stood at the edge of the ring, his back facing towards the spectators. Without warning, his aura flared once more, resulting in an excited reaction from a small few of the audience members. Much like before, energy gathered in his palms to form spheres, and once again he tossed them at Dio with renewed vigor. These blasts should result in the end of the fight, but if the kid continues to keep up with him despite the massive difference in general strength and power, Luther might have to stop holding back.
