The Boxer's Rebellion | 3-Star Mission (6000 Words Requirement) In an effort to defend their lands from the Southern Demon Kingdom, a village's shaman stepped over the lines of spirituality; summoning ancestral spirits to possess one of the village's last warriors as per the arts of the jitong. Unfortunately, the only spirit that appreciated the call to such violence was a long forgotten martial artist who sought the thrill of duels to the death... and, it definitely didn't settle in the host they had intended it to.
From a tip-off from a senior of the Orange Star Alliance, head to the Southlands and put an end to this deadly warrior's resurgence. Investigate the village and hunt for information on the spirit's identity that might uncover its weaknesses or even offer the chance to negotiate with it; or trawl the wastes of the Southern Demonlands and face the wild dangers, demons, and dinos in search of the maraudering fighter.

Having had a fair bit of profit in the Southern Sea, the Red Ribbon soldier known as Silver Snow would be moving slowly north, toward the southern lands of the main continent in order to begin working on what the heck to do with it. She had already wasted a bunch of it on getting a spiffy new armor, with the symbol of the Red Ribbon Army smelted onto the shoulder pads, but after a bit of thinking she did not know what to use the rest of it on, at the moment at least. Taking a bit of a detour in a small village, Silver would settle down in a small hotel, hanging up her armor at the moment as she would begin heading out for a day off. Out of a piece of body armor for the first time in what felt like forever to her, Silver would be dressed in a black blazer with a red undershirt, with some jean shorts to join them. On the back of her blazer would be the symbol of the Red Ribbon Army, having been delicately sewn in from it's conception. In addition, on her hip would be a purse she had gotten a few days ago, something she was willing to try out. Heading out one step at a time, Silver would quickly pick up something odd, sensing a powerful energy off in the far distance, that didn't seem to be moving. She would look curiously in the direction of the energy, but before long she would quickly be distracted by a voice coming from a person she could barely see in the distance, sounding weak. "Help... anyone..."Quickly running up to the man, Silver would help lift the man up, while noticing his bloodied Orange Star uniform. While she did not like the order of the Orange Star Alliance, she knew at the least that with the powerful people under their command that it would probably be best for her to help them, at least until she had enough of a force to match the Alliance. For the moment, she was willing to at least help the man, at the very least to figure out what was going on. "What the hell are you doing? You look like you went into a rather deadly conflict and lost hard, and real hard at that.""T-there was this fighter... from this village. He was... possessed by..."Feeling the man go limp on her shoulders, Silver would sigh a bit, as she would look back to her hotel. She was planning for a full day of relaxation, but from the look of things something was going on which was making her curious. Heading back into the hotel real quick, she would get her armor back on, though she would at the very least keep the leg armor out of the equation, not seeing things as a serious life or death matter at the moment. Sliding the shoulder pauldrons onto her shoulders, Silver would head out once more, before looking back in the distance to check on the energy she was sensing. From what she could feel, the energy source was still remaining still at the moment, but when it would start moving for again she hoped she would not have to find out yet. Either way, she knew one thing she would have to do at least, and that would be to ask around the local area, in order to try figuring out what was going on. "Okay, fighter from this village, being possessed by someone or something. That shouldn't be too difficult to ask around about. I just hope this endeavor doesn't end in disappointment, cause from what I can gather, whoever that guy was talking about seemed to be pretty deadly, and that could be somewhat of a good test for my powers..."

"So, let me get this correctly mister Usumidori. This dreadful feeling isn't one of your sealed brothers?"They had been in the middle of tracking down very faint tracks left by said brother blade Muramasa when this came up. Usumidori had caught just a strange whiff of chaotic energy that, strangely enough, wasn't what they were looking for. Griselda was stopped up in a low-lying field just under this tree to catch her breath, having laid the blade up against a tree. "Unfortunately, no. Though the aura's presence alone makes me wish for its termination. That man with the tip from earlier assured us it was what I had been looking for..."Grissy could feel the demon sword's frustration and could only offer a tiny bit of consolation. Having cleaned up her other gear, she stood before the scabbard and took it gingerly into her hands. She sometimes wished the demon would be a bit more reasonable in his position. He couldn't just ring the information out of just anyone he thought would have it. "S-sir... he only said what he needed to in order to not lose his head. You can't just threaten everyone who doesn't give you all the answers."Not happy with that answer he'd shout back quickly, causing the girl to shake in her stance just a bit. "Then it's settled. Demon kin or not, I'm personally seeing to the destruction of this annoyance. Take me towards this power, child."She knew better than to protest. The ancient demon could just hijack her if he got angry enough at her. It was just a blessing the anger wasn't directed at her or otherwise. The duo would be off, one having a decent idea what this was and wanting to be rid of it. It was the southern demon lands after all. Possession was not unheard of.

Though the village had some modern amenities such as the hotel Silver was staying at, it was also bathed in the culture of the East and South; with many street stalls, paper decorations, and architecture inspired by the Crane School’s temples. However, it was clear that it had weathered many disasters, too; as plenty of the original stone and wood architecture had been repaired by more modern materials instead. In recent days, it was enjoying an uneasy peace, though… even if it was for all the wrong reasons.
The injured Orange Star disciple’s scene and later return on Silver’s shoulders had been noticed by many, yet few wished to speak of it or pay it any more mind. The possessed warrior was dangerous, but… their deeds had still earned them some sense of security. There had been a reason they’d turned to such volatile magic to deal with the threat of the Southern Demon Kingdom, and it wasn’t for some sense of novelty.
For Silver Snow, any early investigation would be awkward – the little town wasn’t used to her uniform or stature. Griselda’s humble appearance and even her demonic sword, however, was easier for them to swallow. Unfortunately, though, there was no hint of Muramasa, and anyone with such information was far too busy talking about the latest matter instead. A hero, a demon, or just a reckless fool – everyone had something to say about the latest chaos, unsurprisingly.
Griselda’s senses and Silver Snow’s plotting would bring them both to the same answer, though. A scene was growing in a corner of the city, and given the disquieted nature of the rest of the populace it was awfully hard to miss. During the harsh light of the Southern Lands’ midday, an old man in a deep crimson Wing Chun zhì fú was addressing a young lady before her stall. Clearly it had been meant to be a humble meeting, but now they were in the middle of a small, but gathering crowd of fellow citizens; albeit keeping their distance from the scene.
“I cannot ask for forgiveness, but… I do not think this is enough to say I am sorry for my actions; regardless of how they came to be.” “It’s not important! Your wife will just be glad you are okay… if the shaman’s tale is true, then it wasn’t your fists talking. And frankly, with moves like that, I believe it. But, you should really rest for now instead –” “T-That’s – well, I should say, you honour me with your kindness, but more than that… it’s – more complicated than that…” “If the spirit is gone, then we can rest easy a little longer. Whether its actions were right or wrong, we need to –” “No… that’s the matter at hand. I am free, but the spirit… has found a better host…”
The power Griselda had felt had faded, as if only its traces had been left here – but, this did seem to be a step forward, if nothing else. Maybe Silver would have to be a bit more patient before she found a test, though, unless she planned on putting a fellow old fighter on ice…

"Hey, can you tell me about what's going on in this town?""N-no thanks!"Silver was not really having much of a good time in plotting and looking around, even after realizing that her armor was making her look intimidating leading her to store it away for a bit. Her tall stance alongside her somewhat grizzly and scarred look would scare off a bunch of people without her even getting close, and for those who she was able to talk to, they were too worried to give her any useful information. She was prepared to give Bass a call for help on her C-Phone as she would sit down when she would begin noticing some sort of commotion. Walking in the direction of the commotion, she would end up seeing a old man and a woman argue about some sort of spirit issue, the old man sounding worried to her. In addition to this, on the other end of the crowd she could feel another power in the distance, though she couldn't exactly see the person from which the power was coming from. Turning her attention back to the old couple, Silver would push aside person after person as she would march deeper through the crowd. "Hey, out of the way! GET OUT OF THE WAY!"Before she could fully reach the old couple however, Silver would be pushed to the side quickly as she would see some sort of boar-like news reporter budge in on the old couple, followed by what appeared to be a human camerawoman. Rising up from the ground and dusting herself off, the soldier would grumble heavily as she would reach a hand towards the news reporting boar's back. "Edwin Rota of PNN News Network, and it appears that rogue spirits are- woah, let go of me!"Holding the boar from behind through his own flannel shirt, Silver would throw him aside, before looking down on him with a heavy glare. "Hey, I said get out of the way! I wanna learn as much as I can about this spirit stuff and I won't let myself be slowed down by some news hound looking for a local legend to turn into some news report for the imbeciles that eat that sort of thing up! So get lost!""No way, I got here first! This story's mine!""And I'm telling you, go away!"Letting loose a chilling glare at the reporter, the PNN reporter would get up and prepare to throw a punch, only to flinch a bit and run away. Turning her gaze to the camerawoman, Silver would see the camerawoman shaking in her boots, as she would quickly turn the camera off before dropping it and running away. Letting out a slow sigh, Silver would finally turn back to the couple, a little irritated in her look but relieved that she was up close with them. "I'm... sorry you had to see me like that. He was really getting on my nerves. Silver Snow, soldier. I've heard of some sort of problem involving someone being possessed and then I noticed this crowd with you two at the center. Since your claiming to be the first person who was possessed old man, please tell me everything about what the hell is going on. Maybe I'll solve it, maybe I won't, I just wish to know. And remember... don't keep me waiting."
