Frozen Lake
Cold...Why is it still so cold...
In the cold and dark parts of the Southern Sea, that single thought kept running through the mind of the woman frozen in the ice over and over again. She didn't know how long she had been where she was at the moment. All she knew is that it was cold and what part of her mind that remained conscious hated it. All that surrounded Okora in her mind was darkness. She could still dream but her dreams had long ago turned to nightmares. Nightmares of Planet Vegeta. Nightmares of what she had done to innocent people. Her personal demons had haunted her for many, many years now. The ghosts of those who she had been forced to kill still whispered at her even in her frozen state.
Cold...Why is it still so cold...
She dreamt of her last day on Planet Vegeta in particular.
"Come on, Okora. We get to cut loose! We get to use the great ape form!" The woman in front of her looked excited at the prospect of wiping out the population of a planet. "It's going to be fun!" Okora was forced to hide her disgust for the woman in front of her. Once they had been friends...but not anymore. Not if she could take joy in killing off the population of a planet that had done nothing wrong. If only there was a different way... She forced herself to grin and nod as Tabaga went on about how she planned to level a few cities by herself. Okora knew what Tabaga was capable of and may heaven help whoever got in her way. The other woman was possibly one of the most savage fighters currently living on Planet Vegeta and she had seen many innocent people perish by her hand on their second extermination mission.
"I'd like twelve pounds of meat. And can I borrow that butcher knife? I lost mine a while back." The butcher nodded as Okora payed for the large amount of meat and the butcher knife. Okora hid a small smile. So far everything was going according to plan. She could feel the hated device on her tail. Soon it would be gone. Soon she'd be able to get off this hellhole and maybe find somewhere she could either atone...or live in isolation for the rest of her days.
Okora muffled her scream as she swung the Butcher knife on her tail. She knew it was going to hurt but she didn't think it would hurt this much. A moment later, she looked down at the severed stump of her tail and a wave of joy coursed through her. She was free from the device...now she would finally be free from Planet Vegeta and it's savage killers.
She had managed to bluff her way through to the spaceport and was even now sitting in the attack pod. The bloodied stump of her tail was sitting next to her, still wrapped in rags. It would serve as a reminder of what she had been forced to do to avoid killing the innocent. I won't take another innocent life. Not now, not ever again.
The dream faded away again, leaving Okora alone in the darkness once again leaving her only the same single thought running through her mind.
