Well that went... Well?. She was not angry at him, and even accepted his sentiment. But it all felt too... easy. He had no way of knowing wether she was serious or not given how casually she accepted. Although, this WAS Zam. What was he expecting?. Some sort of monologue and a serious answer?. Might as well ask her to fall to one knee, recite a Poem and end it off with a heartfelt love confession, all in french. The Bugboy decided that considering Zam's usual responses, he'd chose to believe she actually meant what she said. Thus he nodded "Very well then, i'm glad you feel tha-gh" before he had time to finish, he was pulled in for a hug. While he did appreciate his sentiment, he thought he might've heard his exoskeleton cracking. Thankfully, it was over before too long, followed by the seemingly unrelated comment about their... backs?. Does Zam know what a metaphor is?. Well, didn't matter right now. He simply rubbed the back of his head and decided to brush it off. Besides, they had more animals to observe
It seemed the Bugboy's mood had considerably lifted as he followed Clove and Zam into the aquatic section of the zoo. Something about a weight lifted and all that. He seemed to immediately be drawn to the shark area. There was no complex reasons this time, no allegory that he followed to pick this specific animal. Just a teen that thought this weird fish looked really cool. He even made it a point to de-activate his sensors, observing with his base 5 senses the way it looked and behaved, casting a glance to his companions from time to time, making sure he wouldn't get lost. It was fascinating how it swam like it owned the place, ausing the other fish to instinctively keep their distance. This particular breed was a "great white" as the plaque so kindly explained

After leaving the insect and reptile cavern for the VIP guest entrance, Skorak automatically gravitated to the shark tank that was above ground, with a thick glass barrier to visibly see the predator, while the zoo was mostly outdoors, an awning was shadowing over the massive tank to decrease the sunlight. Just beyond this tank were nature interactive activity pools, many small children were touching sea urchins, sea anemone, and sea stars with a zoo staff nearby reminding everyone to be gentle and to use only two fingers.
There was another pool with stingrays, a zoo staff was handing out raw shrimp with their heads missing, and the guests could put their hand in the water to have the sting rays suck the shrim right out of their hand. The stingrays were constantly moving in circles in their watery enclosure, Clove took an interest to help feed the animals, by lining up, and waiting her turn. It seemed everyone had a favorite animal for this section of the zoo. As the tea princess waited in line, she looked at the map again, and noticed there were camel and elephant rides in the savannah area of the park.
“We can go ride a camel or elephant next. Let me know when you’re both ready to go, okay?” Clove smiled at Baccer and Zam who were nearby.
When it was her turn to feed the stingrays, she took advantage of putting both her hands in the massive pool, and touched a few until one of them sucked out the shrimp from her enclosed hand.

An expectant smile played on Zam’s lips as she dashed after the generous caretaker. She was hoping to see nifty and cute animals~! ...So the shock was pretty obvious when she was instead greeted with the sight of gently splashing water. Spiky things, slimy things, weird star-like things... She was not a fan, not one bit. Her gleeful smile slanted with a disappointed hum. Even the strange, black and white birds didn’t get a warmer reaction. Fishies and other sea creatures were no fun. You couldn’t pet them or play with them. And they didn’t taste good either. Bleh. Icky things. By pure accident, the distracted girl got dragged into the feeding queue too. Upon being handed a headless shrimp, she gave it a tentative sniff. Immediately her nose wrinkled. Bleaugh... It smelled just as bad as the fishies she had gotten on the boating trip. She couldn’t eat this! Fortunately, an astute staffer explained that it was for the stingrays. The puzzled stare elicited a gentle laugh as the staffer decided to show rather than tell. Gently the pink child was guided to the edge of the pool. She mimicked the example shown by others around her, sticking her hand into the warm water. Soon enough, a hungry stingray came gliding to her and snatched the treat from her grasp. It elicited a tiny gasp of surprise. “Pancake fish...” And wonder too. ...They were still icky though. It was the mention of getting to ride an animal that reignited Zam’s excitement. She wasted no time zooming to Clove’s side. Her eyes were twinkling again. “Ooh, I wanna ride a camel! Can I?? Please???” Now there was an animal actually familiar to the small demon creature. She had seen plenty of them back home. Some of her smarter (and lazier) demon friends had even tamed them to act as pack animals while... um... playing games with the local villagers. They had never allowed her to ride one though... But this was her chance! Words: 333 | 2195 Natural PL at start: 30,221 Tags: Baccer Clove

Eventually, the Bugboy seemed to sate his curiosity and walked away from the shark Exhibit, walking next to clove and keeping pace with the two of them as they entered the more hands-on section of the zoo. Closed-off habitants with a few rideable animals sprinkled about. Baccer honestly didn't see the point of it. He could fly much faster than any of these creatures could take him around. However, he did humour his companions and decided to approach the elephants. Hmm, power level somewhere in the '20s. Less powerful than a dinosaur, but could take out a large number of humans by itself. Yeah, this one would do
As the bugboy mounted the elephant, it seemed to protest slightly. It was being ridden by something... unnatural, a creature that shouldn't exist, much less be on top of this beast. However, Baccer seemed to be able to calm it down by using small, sub-sonic signals from his wing, making the elephant confused and drowsy "Hey, look Clove, Zam. I'm doing it" huh, maybe there was some merit in all that excitement his Majin companion was experienced after all. The world had a certain... charm to it when gazed from this angle, and the fact he was cooperation with another creature for ease of transportation made him feel less... unnatural... Somewhat

It seemed Zam enjoyed feeding the stingrays, which she had no idea what they were, and ultimately called them pancake fish. Clove chuckled at her observation, since she was unfamiliar with all the names of animals, it was understandable that she came up with names based on their shape and behavior, which was quite adorable. It seemed she knew what a camel was, she was able to pronounce the name clearly, and she was eager to ride one. With a simple nod she followed after Baccer who chose to ride the magnificent Elephant. The line for the camel was a shorter one, given that the elephants were more popular, and Clove held her hand out to a zoo staff to sit on the camel’s hump with a hand loom woven cover to protect its fur. A metal rail was belted on to the creature to hold on while it walked across its sand enclosure instead of the reigns to control it. Baccer’s voice caught the Tea Princess’ attention, she waved at him as he rode the elephant across the dirt in the next enclosure, and her crimson eyes looked over to the zoo staff who were helping Zam mount her own camel. Despite all the times Zam was unfamiliar with new experiences, she was behaving well, and perhaps it was a sign that she was learning patience. “You’re a natural, Baccer-kun!” Clove shouted over to him as he kept looking around. The camel moved strangely, far different from riding a horse, and with a rigid step which added a bounce whilst riding along. [263] [2,030] Majin Zam Baccer

Zam resembled bubblegum in more ways than one. She was stretchy, clingy and easily molded into a new shape. Mimicry was her main way of absorbing surrounding influences. It was how she learned new things. Majin see, Majin do, you know. Hanging around a wrong crowd had certainly left a dark mark on her behavior, as some could attest. Cool authority figures especially tended to leave a lasting impression on her. Right now, she was imitating a certain awesome adult who had given her so much ice cream... Said adult walked around calmly, waited her turn and followed instructions. So Zam would do all those things too. Maybe eventually she would really learn the mysterious power called... patience. The nod was met with an excited squeal. “Yaaaay~!” The excited creature followed after Clove to the sandy camel enclosure. She kept glancing at the taller woman every now and then, trying to match the stride, the posture and even the expression. ...Though it didn’t last for too long. When it was her turn to ride, excited jitters took over again. She giggled and bounced with every step the steed took. “Hee, faster, Mister Camel! Faster~!” Luckily, the camel didn’t speak English. Then again, even if it had, it probably wouldn’t have listened. Judging by the drowsy expression, this pace suited the steed juuuust fiiiine. Step... by... step... around... the... enclosure. Along the way, the Majin noticed her friend. She had tried riding elephants back home, but they would always grab her with their long nose and toss her off. Theeen they would trample her until she got mad and blew up something. None of her friends had managed to tame them either. They were too big and strong for them. So naturally Baccer received an awestruck stare and an excited wave. “Good job~!” Clearly he was a master elephant rider. Her friends would’ve been super amazed~! Once the camel completed a lap around the enclosure, it stopped and the staff helped the girl down. Her eyes were twinkling with an idea. “Okay, next Mister Camel can ride me!” The attendant laughed at what he thought was a childish jest. His explanation that an adult camel weighed between 880 and 1,320 pounds was cut short when the short girl effortlessly hoisted the animal above her head. Luckily, the unflappable animal didn’t seem to mind. She ignored the wide-eyed stares around her and cheerfully called out to Baccer. “Heeey! Baccer! Hey, listen! You should let Mister Elephant ride you too!” It was only fair, right? Right! Words: 424 | 2619 Natural PL at start: 30,221 Tags: Baccer Clove

well. Seemed like taking it easy every once in a while was not such a bad idea after all. Of course, he wasn't a master at it like Zam was, but it was easy to forget your worries when riding so high up. It also gave him a good vantage point from which to spot any potential ambushe- No, he was here to have fun, and fun he would have. Clove and Zam's encouragement did make him feel a hind of pride, something he didn't show however as he tried to play it cool. Eventually, his pink friend decided it would be a good idea to return that camel the favour and let it ride her instead. While the gesture was noble, the people around her didn't seem to think the same "Umm, mistress Tea, she's scaring the customers" an employer that seemed to occupy a leadership position informed Clove. However, the children around the zoo seemed to be loving it. In all honesty, he probably was just scared himself
As Zam suggested he also give a ride to the elephant, he found it quite... reasonable. Due to his normally more mature behaviour, it was easy to forget that Baccer had even less world experience than Zam. Thus, what she asked made perfect sense. He quickly hopped off the elephant, hoisting it above his head with both arms "Hmm, like this?" he asked. Unfortunately, it Appeared that his mount was way less receptive to being carried, causing Baccer to put the huge animal down after a particularly nasty-looking trunk slap "ah, guess Mister elephant didn't like that" he said, rubbing the back of his neck and laughing nervously, more embarrassed than actually hurt. Despite their size and demeanour, these two packed such incredible destructive potential controlled by still-developing minds. While Baccer was not mature enough to consider it yet, they could have both gone down a way darker path if Clove wasn't there, cultivating both their strength and mind. And while he didn't realise it right now. He was immensely thankful for That

A sigh escaped her lips, the zoo staff called Clove’s name to explain the gravity of the situation, and she nodded simply. The problem was getting either Baccer and Zam to understand what they were doing, while it was thoughtful, this was neither time or place to give animals at a zoo a different experience from what they were used to.
“Alright you two, regroup.” Clove clapped her hands once, “Stop what you are doing and leave these animals alone. They are being taken care of in captivity, you’re invading their personal space by overhandling them, the zoo is meant for guests to observe and handle animals by listening to the zoo staff.”
The tea princess placed her hands on her hips, as she waited for the preteens to regroup as instructed, and then continued to explain, “The purpose of a zoo is to learn. Are you here to learn? Or are you here to play? If you’re going to play then we might as well go to the wilderness and make animal friends there rather than here.”
With a rhythmic tap of her wooden platform okobo sandals, she waited for an answer from each of them, and while she spoke with authority she was not in the least reprimanding them for their actions because they did not know any better. However, these poor animals were not free to roam, and the staff did their best to make them all feel comfortable enough in their enclosures.

While the two teens were having fun, the other customers didn’t find the situation amusing at all. Fearful whispers spread like ripples in a pond. Monsters... Even among the colorful crowd of humans, beastmen and all sorts of hybrids, these two... creatures... stood out. And not in the good way. Similarly, the staff hurried to ask the only rational member of the odd trio for help. Even if they couldn’t sense power like martial artists, they knew what kind of absurd power it took to hoist an elephant. Zam too turned towards Clove, expecting amazement and praise for her great idea. Instead, she got a stern command to stop. Happiness turned to puzzlement and further soured into disappointment. “Stop...?” The playful smile died on her lips. Hrm, her friends back home would’ve praised her... She glanced around, finding only anxious and fearful stares. Those cold eyes... The kind that felt like icicles poking against her skin. She didn’t like those eyes, not one bit. Even back home, all the humans looked at her the same way. Like she was some sort of... Monster. She had forgotten it until now, because Miss T was usually so nice to her, but now the memories came back in waves. Her golden gaze darkened in response. There was a grim chill in the air... The same kind of vile vibe as when she lost the game of tag... With a childish huff, the Majin set the drowsy camel down and reluctantly marched over to the adult. She folded her arms, staring back defiantly. This was one of the few times anyone had dared to scold her. All her life, she had been allowed to run free. Only the wisest and the most powerful elder demons had tried controlling her more directly. Emphasis on ‘tried’. She had no idea how to deal with this, sooo she just... kinda... sulked. It didn’t help that the teacher was using difficult words again. She got the basic gist, sure, but she didn’t agree with any of it. “Learning is boring! I wanna have fun!” She underlined her concise argument by blowing a raspberry and pouting. Words: 357 | 2976 Natural PL at start: 30,221 Tags: Baccer Clove

Baccer knew these looks... It was not the first time he'd been looked at like a monster. He'd honestly kinda used to it by now. So when he was called back by clove, his demeanour was much more apologetic than angry "i'm sorry miss clove" he said, lowering his head. No matter what, he couldn't make troube for clove. She had been nothing but helpful to him. And given nobody else had given him a fair chance before, ungratefully causing her trouble was the last thing he wanted to do
However, it seemed his pink friend didn't exactly share the sentiment. well, maybe she did, she just didn't find it as important as having fun. Baccer did see her point. Why should they apologise when they didn't hurt anyone, simply because the eople around them saw them with unjustified fear?
But despite everything he might have been feeling, he tried to air on the side of reason and calm down Zam "hey, maybe there are camels out in the desert that nobody would care if we lifted. We should wait until we're out of here to do it though" he suggested, trying to make her look forward to something in order to forget her current anger

When the demonic preteens confirmed her suspicions that they would enjoy playing with the animals to have fun rather than learn about them at the zoo, she nodded as they each explained their thoughts on the matter, and she dropped her hands from her hips.
“Alright, we’re leaving, immediately.” Clove announced, “The zoo is a place to learn about animals not to play with them. Most of them were rescued from the wild because of life threatening injuries, so the zoo takes care of these animals to give them a second chance, otherwise they would be left for dead.”
Baccer mentioned knowing where camels enjoyed to hang around, she turned to face him, and motioned for him to lead the way with the palm of her hand.
“Alright Baccer-kun. Since you know where to find the animals in the wild, lead the way. We will follow you.”
In the back of her mind, this was the best solution, she had no desire to end their trip to the zoo so early but given the circumstances there was no choice in the matter. There was a social norm to follow at a venue like this one, rules were in place to protect guests, and the animals so she understood the problem at hand. It was unfortunate that it would take a decade to teach them what was acceptable in society and she was only going to guide them rather than be a parent. It did make her wonder where their parents were, with the recent events she figured they were absent from their lives, especially how they both acted around people.

Zam’s defiance was shaken by sudden shock when Clove announced they would be leaving. Her jaw dropped and arms flopped limp by her sides. The explanation was met with fierce protesting. “What? Why?! We just got here!” She had been super excited to explore this new place full of strange animals. Fun times were dangled right in front of her nose, only to be suddenly yanked away. This felt way worse than if she’d been denied entry in the first place. Her friends back wouldn’t have done this... They would have allowed her to carry whatever she liked... In fact, they always praised her and patted her head when she carried heavy things for them. But now Miss T was acting like she had done something wrong... Even Baccer’s diplomatic attempt failed to sway the fickle girl. She shook her head vehemently. “Nuh uh, I don’t care about camels anymore... I wanna pet bunnies and other fluffy things...” Somehow, the advertisement poster for the zoo had etched itself firmly into her mind. Maybe it had been the bright colors. Or the cute critters. Either way, it was now the boy’s vague words against a hope painted by imagination. Not exactly a fair match. Actually, it was closer to trying to defuse a bomb more than anything else. And the bomb was about to throw an explosive tantrum. When it was time to go... The stubborn child didn’t budge. Her hands balled into trembling fists. Red sparks of unstable power crawled across her skin. A dark mutter left her lips, a voice a little too cold and grim for someone so small. “It’s so unfair...” Tears like the tiniest pearls formed in the corners of her eyes. She sniffled weakly, as her voice swell into shaky shouting. “Why do we gotta leave when they are scared?! I don’t get it!” She swept a broad, accusing point towards them, all the regular folks visiting the park, who were now staring in silent terror. Regardless of what the small Majin wanted, it was clear to everyone else who was in the right here. Words: 350 | 3326 Natural PL at start: 30,221 Tags: Baccer Clove

Baccer nodded at Clove's words. In reality, he wasn't quite sure where to find animals in the wild. But he could try his luck in the desert and it would probably work. While he was also saddened by the fact they were going to leave, he didn't want to oppose clove. Besides, he did feel sort of responsible for scaring all those people. Unfortunately, Zam didn't seem to have the same opinion
Her accusations and outburst left him at a loss for words. In truth, they did resonate with him somewhat. While he tried to not view humans differently -after all, Clove was a human- he couldn't deny that leaving this soon felt kind of unfair. But that didn't matter. Right now Zam seemed about ready to have one of her infamous outbursts. And as Baccer knew all too well, they didn't exactly end well for the weaker lifeforms around her. As his brain scrambled for thought, he landed upon a terrible, terrible idea...
As Zam's reserved anger and power level were rising, they were overshadowed by a massive ki signature, Baccer let his energy flare-up to its full extent, making the air vibrate and expand around him, coating him in a red aura. He screamed in seeming anger, letting his monstrous nature to display its intended terror. While this might have been shocking, he actually had good intentions. The guests were petrified, meaning they were frozen inside Zam's blast zone. Thus he used another, bigger shock to trigger their flight reflex and cause them to flee, ensuring no human life would be lost. Would that cause the populous, or maybe even his friends, to see him as a monster?. Maybe... but what were friends for if not for having each other's backs.

Clove raised a brow at Zam, she wanted to play, not learn about different kinds of animals, but when she realized she had to leave the zoo she was upset. So the truth came out, she enjoyed the zoo, but lacked the self discipline to allow the animals to live in their enclosures. Some of the animals were getting treatments for cancer, malnutrition, or missing limbs from birth. A sigh escaped her lips as she needed to explain why these animals were kept in captivity instead of the wild.
“Sometimes animals get sick, so they get rescued, and brought here. Other animals are born with missing limbs so they would die or be hunted by predators, Zam-chan. The zoo is a place to learn not play. It doesn’t mean you can’t have fun looking at all the animals. You just have to be nice to them and follow the rules, ok?”
With Baccer nearby, “Let’s go to the petting zoo, so Zam-chan can pet the rabbits first, so we can try this whole zoo experience one more time.”
It was at this point that they were both flaring their PL, the pressure startled other guests, and Clove raised her hands on her hips again with a stern expression on her face.
“We are not fighting here, the guests, and the animals could get hurt. You don’t solve your problems by throwing a punch. You have to talk about it first!” Clove could punch them both to the ground, but it would go against her last statement, so she purchased cotton candy. A pink, blue, and purple from a nearby vendor. The tea princess gave Zam the pink one and Baccer the blue one to calm them down.
“Lower your power levels and eat that for now. We’re going to see the rabbits.” Clove announced as she ate the purple cotton candy.
By the time they got there, the airy cloud of sugar was diminished, and they approached an area full of metal sinks with children washing their hands. Beyond the sinks was the petting zoo area, all the children were taking turns brushing goats, and petting rabbits gently on their laps inside a fenced off area for each different soft and bristle fur animal. There was a black pig with long bristles for hair alone in one enclosure. Several children were primarily in the puppy enclosure which was the most popular. All the petting enclosures were monitored by zoo staff, who were giving instructions to children and adults about how to handle the animals.
“Alright, you two, make sure you follow the rules. Be very gentle and you can still have fun without overhandling the animals.” [446] Baccer Majin Zam

The air crackled with ominous static as the two immature teens flared their power, like peacocks showing off their feathers. Around them, the scared people were backing away. ...Or digging out their phones to film the imminent disaster. Strange how some people worked. Aaanyway, much to their immense disappointment and everyone else’s massive relief, Clove put a stop to it once again. Zam for one followed the command almost instinctively, albeit also reluctantly. Her odd power dropped back to single digits, a far better fit for her tiny stature. She was still clutching her fists, until the demon lady revealed a secret weapon... Cotton candy! Bribing a notorious sweet tooth with something made of pure sugar that couldn’t be found in barren wastelands... The plan was just crazy enough to work! Or maybe the opposite of crazy, whatever that was. Zam sniffed the treat pink tentatively. One bite was enough to turn her eyes into twinkling stars. Better yet, the fluffy composition made it impossible for her to scarf it down willy nilly. “Mmm, this cloud tastes way better than the ones up there.” She pointed at the white fluff drifting across the sky. It was probably the color. Pink things tasted better than white things, she figured. With the bomb defused, the group could finally go see the rabbits. Upon reaching the petting zoo, the excited child munched down the last of the treat and hurried over to the enclosure. Rabbits, puppies, even a funny, bristly pig, there were so many things that could only be described with one word. “Cuuuuute~” A small gasp of wonder escaped her lips. Mimicking the example set by others around her, she washed her hands and got in line. When it came her turn, she reached over the tiny fence. Her hand approached a tiny bunny... And suddenly... stopped. For the first time in, well, ever, the usually energetic Majin hesitated. Her trembling hand reached out, yet suddenly jerked back. Shifting her gaze between the soft, fluffy creatures and the other kids petting them, she was suddenly very aware of a particular detail. She was stronger than them. Waaaaay stronger. Their tingle was like a teeny tiny spark compared to hers. So when Miss T told her to be very gentle, she wasn’t sure what that really meant. Gentle like when she had hugged Baccer? Or like when she gave her friends patpats? Maybe even gentler than that? Unlike androids for instance, she couldn’t simply dial down her power with perfect precision. She turned her worried eyes towards the parent figure present, wordlessly begging for help. What did it mean to be gentle? Words: 440 | 3766 Natural PL at start: 30,221 Tags: Baccer Clove
