Baccer was still rather thoughtful after that match. He'd shown a side of him he wasn't exactly proud of. But at the same time, he displayed a power way beyond what he thought possible for him. That introspection of his was quite the bother. He wondered if Dr. Gero had installed a switch to turn that off. Then again, even if he had, was that what Baccer want- Aaand there he went again...
Once Clove told them about the expedition at Majin moo's, his spirits were somewhat lifted. It was definitely a nice establishment, and who didn't like Ice cream?. As they began travelling there, he followed them, making sure to showcase his newfound flying capabilities. He had Truly made quite a bit of progress lately, even if he didn't always realise it. As they touched down, he entered the restaurant and was quite surprised, he's never been to such a big building that only served ice cream before. As they sat down, he took a deep breath and stretched a bit, trying to recover from the spar's fatigue. Man, a malleable body like zam's didn't have to worry about things like cramps. That sounded like a nice benefit
And speaking of Zam, she was currently wearing a new armour set given to her by Clove. It was... odd. I mean, who would use a bikini as armour, it had so many obvious weak spots. Then again, with Zam's morphing and blow-absorbing capabilities, it might be perfect for her. The android continued pondering, his mind analysing their last fight. But his thoughts were cut short as Zam... removed the armour in front of everyone
"Awawa, cover yourself with something!" Baccer nearly fell off his chair as he turned around to hide the obvious reddening of his cheeks. Jeez, did she have no knowledge of social norms?. He was standing right there. Then again, why should she?. It's not like they are an actual adolescent boy and girl, even if they did look like it. He was a bio-mechanical weapon and she was an ancient demon of chaos. There was no reason for them to be embarrassed... So why was he?!

“Ara ara” Clove placed her palm on her cheek, Zam was never taught about public decency, and she had to react quickly to the scene by pulling out a tiny capsule from within her obi belt. In a white cloud appeared a sun dress with bell shaped long sleeves, it was designed to fit Clove, but she managed to put it on the girl as she had her fists in the air declaring her freedom. The back of the dress was deep v cut plunge with a silk corset style closer which she tightened the dress that made Zam look like she was wearing a parachute. It was a decent substitute until they were able to return back to the condo to retrieve her actual clothes. The Chi Chi battle armor itself was neatly placed in a paper bag she managed to get from a Majin Moos employee who was attentive to the Tea Princess who called her champion.
The onlookers quieted down once the situation was corrected to society standards, Clove sat back down after attending to Zam, the table of Majin Moos ice cream was half eaten, and by the actions of the Majin earlier meant sugar had a stronger effect than a normal earthling. Ice cream did have more sugar than the desserts they sampled at Daruma & Tea Coffee, since mocha, and chocolate were sweet on their own without too much added sugar.
“Zam, I know you love food, but it seems that sugar makes you too excited. Have you ever noticed the difference?”
Clove turned to Baccer who was blushing, his white cheeks were now visibly red, and she chuckled slightly before she spoke. “Well, aren’t you a healthy android.” She paused, “Well, I suppose it is not entirely impossible. Is it enough ice cream for you? Shall I order more?”

Zam stared back at Baccer like the latter had just grown a second head. “What? Why?” Inside the pink head, two gears clicked together and started turning... Hm, okay, maybe that was too generous of a description. Rather, an imaginary hamster wheel started squeaking. It tried to reach the answer to the question puzzling her. Why would the boy tell her to cover herself...? Eventually there was something vaguely resembling a thought. She recoiled with a shocked, nay, offended gasp. “Are you calling me ugly?!” And the misunderstanding was complete. “My friends say I’m pretty!” The loud claim was underlined by a stomp that shook the table. She was just one more careless word away from taking a swing at the boy. Luckily Clove was there to stop them from getting kicked out for a number of reasons. Before the pink powerhouse could draw too many quizzical gazes -or annoyed glares- she found herself engulfed in a silky cloud of white... Oh, it was just a dress. She ceased her shouting to admire the new clothing from the reflection of the nearby window. “Oooh~!” Having lived her entire life in the wastelands, she considered shiny, clean clothes the greatest treasure. Much better than those shiny rocks that all her friends liked. You couldn’t even eat those! But this... Made her feel super pretty~! Finally the Majin sat down. People could go back to eating. ....Aaand so did she. Another poor, defenseless serving of ice cream was devoured in an instant. It was a miracle she didn’t eat the spoon too. Only the inevitable brain freeze stopped her from hogging more. Rubbing her head, she aimed a puzzled stare at the Clove. “Too excited...?” A puff of steam formed a question mark above her head. Was it even possible to be too excited? She wasn’t sure... “Hm hm, I notice that tasty things make me feel more... me! Super me!” A strange answer to a strange question. Baccer might've felt quite embarassed before, but now he was positively flustered. Not only did Clove call him out on his reaction, but Zam got the exact opposite impression from his reaction than what it actually meant. At that point, his immature brain kicked into high gear and he started wildly speculating. Was Zam creating all these misunderstandings on purpose?. Was he to blame?. Did she actually hate him and was too bored to just say it?. At this point, there was pretty much only one way to find out, and it was something his overly-cautious brain dreaded. But in this instance, his mouth was faster than his normaly nimble body
"No, i don't find you ugly. To the contrary. I think you're very pretty. And strong, and funny, and..." he blurted out without thinking. Before catching himself "A-ah, i'm sorry about that. Forget you heard anything Zam. I mean, you probably hate me anyway... heh..." Baccer rubbed the back of his head and looked around awkwardly, cursing himself for speaking so carelessly. He looked at Clove and bowed his head slightly "Sensei... may i excuse myself for a bit?" he asked, honestly believing he screwed this up to the utmost degree. Out of all the things he could say. She would have probably been mad at him like normal, now he had to go and make it weird. Honestly, he was a bit cross at Clove for bringing it up, but he was mostly mad at himself right now

“Your friends sound nice. Where are they now?” Clove tilted her head, she finished her sundae, and observed Zam admire her new clothes. With a smile she assured the Majin that it was normal for a girl to like different clothes, “A girl should always wear a lot of beautiful clothes. In exchange for zeni you can wear different outfits every day and eventually hire a designer.”
The tea princess had a personal designer, it was during their research of Chi Chi’s Battle armor, did they discover the actual bikini armor was still in existence. Clove had the opportunity to wear it publicly to her delight. It seemed Zam enjoyed it as well but not long enough to keep it on.
Baccer was still quite embarrassed by the situation they were in earlier, in his panic, he explained that he did find Zam beautiful as well but he took it further by listing all the things he liked about her which were not specific to her appearance alone. Was he confessing his admiration or adoration for the bubble pink Majin? In the end he realized there was a chance she hated him and hearing these compliments would further the reason.
“Eh, of course, don’t go anywhere, too far. We are just finishing up here, Baccer-kun.” Clove dismissed the bio android then turned her attention to Zam.
“Zam-chan, do you dislike Baccer so much that you hate him? He did say all those nice things about you.” [246] [551] Majin Zam Baccer

Clove’s question made Zam oddly quiet. She paused for a moment and her gaze wandered out the window, far into the horizon. “...Dunno.” She eventually confessed. “Many of them just disappeared after some heroes visited. The rest ran away. No idea where they went...” It didn’t take a detective to figure out where demons went after encountering someone too strong to handle. Unfortunately, the small Majin had never been the brightest crayon in the box. Being nigh-immortal also brought its own complications to... understanding certain facts of life. Luckily, the puzzled creature didn’t have to dwell on the strange, gnawing thought any longer. She blinked at the sudden stream of compliments. A small smile was budding on her features like a tiny flower. However, it died the moment she was told to forget she heard anything. Her brow furrowed. Oooohhh, that was so mean! Why did he always bully her like this?! A hiss of steam ruffled her hair as her temper began to flare again. The spoon in her grasp bent out of shape as she clenched her trembling fist. When the bug boy politely requested some space for himself, the young girl handled the situation with the kind of maturity and grace one could expect from her. “Hrmph, that’s right! Run away, you scaredy cat!” With an annoyed huff, she chucked a half-eaten bowl of ice cream after him. Sure, she was aiming for his head, but her aim had never been all that accurate. Some innocent bystander was at a risk of receiving an ill-fitting glass hat along with a huge chocolate stain. Sitting back down, Zam snatched another bowl and continued shoveling more of the frozen treat down her bottomless gullet. The feasting was only interrupted by the occasional grumbling. “Stupid bug... Wanna punch him...” She shot an annoyed look at Clove, when the grown-up poked her nose into the matter. “Bleh, I hate him cuz he’s always mean to me...” The claim about nice things was shot down with some frustrated flailing. “Nuh uh, not nice! He says all sorts of weird things! And then makes fun of me!” The misunderstanding was rooted deep on both sides. Words: 362 | 688 Natural PL at start: 30,221 Tags: Baccer Clove

Baccer left the ice cream shop without noticing that Zam tried to hurl something at him, it missing its target and him being too absorbed in thought to pay attention, he sighed and made his way outside. It was a nice day, sunny and perfect to take a walk. Since Clove told him to not go too far he decided he'd just make his way around the block and go back, even though he dreaded going back into that restaurant.
As he began walking, there was not much for him to do but think and take in the weirded out expressions of the bystanders. He definitely didn't belong around here, which might have been part of the reason he wanted Zam to like him. If he couldn't belong even among those that don't belong, then there was a real issue here. Well, that's how it started at least. It was a pretty selfish reason, but he genuinely enjoyed the time they spent together... when she didn't get angry at him that is. But a lot of people had gotten angry at him before, some had even tried to kill him, and it never bothered him too much. When Zam was Mad at him he felt nervous, awkward... Lonely. Of course, it's not like he was not to blame. If her brain relied too much on emotion, he relied too much on logic. Never saying anything too risky, always backing out of a situation and letting only half of his thoughts out. He'd need to fix that at some point...
Eventually, the bugboy finished his walk and found himself in front of the same Majin Moo's building. Weird, did they make renovations while he was gone?. It seemed more... imposing. As Baccer debated whether to go in or not, he decided to give it some more time. Interactions between him and Zam always go about as well as a cat trying to smash through a brick wall. Maybe Clove could convince Zam to not hate him as much?. In this endless string of misunderstandings, she was the only person he trusted could actually make sense of it all and find the best solution. So for now, the android leaned against a wall next to the establishment and simply... gave it time

“Is that right? It sounds like they might have been naughty.” Clove mused, “There are two types of friends. A friend genuinely cares about you and keeps you out of trouble. Others are fake friends who reveal their true nature when you’re not even looking.”
Of course Zam was rather forgetful, the Tea Princess had to insist whenever she spoke to her like she would any person, and there was a chance some of things she said would stick like glue in the Majin’s mind if she persisted.
The ice cream was nearly consumed in its entirety, since Zam had a black hole for a stomach, one of them was launched at Baccer when he left, and soon enough it was all gone. Clove stood up, picking up the paper bag that held the armor and stored it in an empty capsule, sliding the pill sized vessel inside a pocket of her obi belt, and motioned for the Majin to follow her.
“Since Baccer is in a bad mood. We should ask him what he wants to do next. Especially since you got the chance to do what you wanted to do here at Majin Moos, Zam-chan. It is only fair if we take turns having fun.”
The tea princess met with Baccer who was taking a stroll on the sidewalk, there were a few glances from nearby pedestrians, it was nothing to be concerned about since the trio looked like normal earthlings apart from their overwhelming power levels concentrated in one area. An average person possessed 5 PL and were well aware of anyone having more than that without special training. Just standing near each other caused a gravitational pull for anyone passing by with a weak ki signature.
“Well Baccer-kun, Zam-chan feels a whole lot better after having her fill at Majin Moos, is there anything you wanted to do for fun next?”
While she waited for an answer, she leaned in on him, lowering herself to get close to ear shot. “You said all those nice things to Zam but retracted your statement at the last minute. She thinks you were lying, so you need to think a bit more simpler next time when you speak, and maybe she will give you another chance.”
Clove straightened her back, placing her hands on her hips casually, as she waited for everyone to chime in their opinions of their next adventure.

The small Majin had no counter-arguments to the teacher’s musings. Her mouth flapped like a gasping fish, but no words came out. Naturally, she wanted to insist that her friends would never be naughty! Buuuut that wasn’t really true, was it? Some of them liked to take shiny things from others, which she had decided was kinda mean and naughty. There was other stuff too... Like burning down houses when she had clearly called dibs. Eventually she just sank deep into puzzled silence. Two types of friends... She had no idea there were different kinds. How could she even tell what kind of friend someone was...? Hm hm, mysterious... Luckily, before the confused creature’s head got toasted from all the thinking, the gracious grown-up beckoned her to follow. She hurried to licked the last bowl clean. The puzzlement switched back to a sunny smile. “Okay~! Fair things are fair, yus.” She nodded, imparting a nugget of Majin wisdom. Truly a thought for the ages, alongside other similar classics like ‘fun things are fun’. And she did like fun things. So, without any arguments against it, the excited girl hopped, skipped and bounced out of the parlor. She was all charged up with sugar and ready to go! ...For better or worse. Outside, Zam came to a skidding halt, as Clove approached Baccer. She only narrowly avoided crashing into the two. Her curious eyes shifted rapidly between the two. Conveniently enough, her short attention span ran out just as the sly woman leaned closer to the woman. Any conspiratorial whispers went unheard by the pink menace. She was much too busy staring starry-eyed at a huge advertisement poster depicting cute animals. Bunnies, pigs, even exotic alpacas... The eye-catching text described a petting zoo located near the city outskirts. Of course, the simple-minded Majin couldn’t actually read any of it. She was simply mesmerized by the sight of soft, huggable creatures. Words: 319 | 1007 Natural PL at start: 30,221 Tags: Baccer Clove

Baccer raised a brow when he saw Zam and Clove exiting Majin Moo's and followed them as the trio started walking. He was kinda curious as to what they said while he was gone, but that wasn't something he could simply ask about, thus he settled for walking beside them. Once Clove asked him about where he wanted to go, he seemed puzzled. He was just following them, there was not really a place he had a particular interest in. Then it dawned on him: He didn't have any other interests besides fighting. While it was an unsettling thought, he should still give an answer, at this point he might seem rude if he just stood there like a robot
"Well, umm. If I had to pick, I'd say..." the android began his sentence before noticing Zam staring off in the distance, following her gaze to a posted about the west city Zoo. Ohh, the zoo. That was a great idea. Besides, Zam seemed to be intrigued by it. It might be a good place for him to gather his thoughts too "hmm, the zoo seems like a fun place, I've never been in one" he admitted, hoping Clove didn't have any objections with the fact they'll be going to a zoo. She was organizing this little "expedition" of theirs after all

Perhaps Zam was still learning what the difference between Clove and the demons in the southern desert even after all this time in each other’s company. It was the thought that mattered, even if she only understood a little, she would have to check in on the bubblegum rubber skinned majin in two years, to see if any progress had been made since. Crimson eyes observed the black sclera eyes with golden irses that belonged to zam admire a billboard for the West City Zoo, Baccer was perceptive to notice the same, and suggested they venture there.
“Sure, let’s go to the zoo. Be mindful of the animals there, they do not like to be touched, and are in their own habitats away from the guests.” Clove took off into the air, taking flight towards the billboard advertisement to read the address, she turned into the direction it was in then led the way.
Upon arrival, there were massive crowds of visitors, Clove purchased three admission tickets, most specifically a VIP edition that allowed them to enter through a special entrance apart from all the lines which took them into a dark reptilian and insect exhibit that looked like a cavern, the different species were behind a strong plexiglass to keep them safely from guests, all the animals were strictly for observation.
The first few animals were glowing in the darkness, naturally fluorescent reflecting the low lighting, and the UV lights that made their reptile skin look quite detailed.
“So, does anyone have a favorite reptile or insect so far?” Clove smiled.

Zoo. The word was met with wide-eyed wonder. Zoo. So simple, yet so strange at the same time. Z-o-o... Zam had never heard the word before, but she already decided that she liked it. Miss T mentioned that there would be animals there and she loved animals. Big ones, small ones, fuzzy ones and scaly ones... The playful Majin was a friend to all animals! Whether they liked it or not. Even the big dino lizards back home agreed to play with her once she bopped them good. Fortunately for everyone involved, they had a responsible adult here to stop her from causing a yet another incident. Taking flight, the excited bubblegum creature zoomed after the grown-up guide. She watched from high above as the wondrous thing called zoo appeared below them. Even from all the way here, her sharp eyes spotted many different kinds of cages and fences teeming with interesting creatures. For a moment, she even thought she had seen some sort of weird horse with spots and a super long neck... Her curiosity was bubbling like a fizzy drink after violent shaking. The VIP pass was a lifesaver, because trying to get her to wait patiently in a line would’ve been... suicidal. First up were reptilians, insects and all other sorts of creepy crawlies. Soon enough, Zam already wandered off to a particular enclosure. The sign helpfully identified the denizen as a komodo dragon. On the other side of the thick plexiglass, a huge lizard nearly ten feet in length was lazing on top of a large, flat rock. Whenever the creature flicked it’s forked tongue, the Majin mimicked it with a blue-tongued mlem of her own. Flick. Mlem. Flick. Mlem. Aaaand so forth. Majin see, Majin do. She only returned to reality briefly to glance at Clove. “Dunno what those are, but that big lizard is funny.” She shifted her attention back onto the lizard, snickering to herself. “Mlem. Mlem. Mlem. Nyehehehe~” She would follow along once the two others decided to move. Words: 337 | 1344 Natural PL at start: 30,221 Tags: Baccer Clove

Baccer seemed to be quite thrilled on the prospect of being in a zoo. Rahter than being fascinated at the sight of animals themselves, it was their implications that fascinated him. Diffrent branches of evolution, all in front of him at the same time. He was going through different species, and started thinking instensely on what would be his "favourite" one "Hmm. I think my favourite would be ants. Their society is so well organized. Everyone has a role, there are no "anomalies". No members without a purpose" he exclaimed, seemingly glued to an ant colony as it went about it's regular busyness, like a well-oiled machine
Eventually he snapped off his trance and looked at Zam… mimicking a lizard?. Well, from what his sensors told him, this lizard was the most powerful reptile in the room, so she at least had the right idea "huh. This one is interesting" he said. Half-trying to mend thinngs between them, and half-being interested in the creature itself. Sadly, his sensors had given him all the relevant biological data of the lizard within mili-seconds, resulting in him losing interest fast. Then the only logical course of action was to speak with Zam, an action almost as daunting as fighting her "Well, this lizard is definitely funny…" aaaand he was out of conversation topics. I mean... he could just try to say what was on his mind for once. Not backing out this time "I don't hate you you know... It's just that sometimes you scare me. I really like when we go on adventures and have fun, but i feel like talking to you is the equivalent of walking on eggshels. I want you to like me... I think... And that makes it even harder to talk to you. I-i guess what i'm trying to say is..." and at that point, the bugboy suddenly took a very out of place bow "i-i would like us to be friends Zam... Like, actual friends. I have your back and you have mine, you know?" Aaaand he waited... No backing out this time... He just hoped this didn't end with her beating him to a pulp

The fact that Zam had to ask the names of these creatures, despite the glow in the dark plaque that had all the information of each animal in the cavern exhibit, made her curious if the pink majin could read. Clove walked over to the plaque and red it out loud for her.
“Komodo dragon. A species of predatory lizard that thrives in harsh conditions in the Southern Islands for over millions of years. On average they can run up to speeds of twelve miles per hour. They can grow between seven to eight feet in length and can live up thirty years.”
The tea princess listened to Baccer explain why he liked the ants in display, their entire colony was viewable, as well as the queen ant who produced more ants, while the worker ants brought food and build their home. Clove walked over to the jewel beetle exhibit and spoke up, “The jewel beetle is my favorite. The colors on its wings are the most beautiful. Which reminds me of your wings, Baccer-kun.”
Clove pushed open the cave exit door to the rest of the zoo, the first animals on display were penguins swimming in their enclosure, as well as a white polar bear, and a sea lion in another. All of which were animals found in the Southern Islands as well as the northern lands. Pulling out a map, she noticed the southern demon lands animals were next with dessert and savannah animals.
“Arctic and sea animals.”
At this point she turned around, noticing Baccer was apologizing to Zam about retracting his statement at Majin Moos, she smiled as she held the door open for them to look at the rest of the animals at the zoo.

Clove’s suspicions were spot on yet again. To Zam the softly glowing plaque was filled with indecipherable hieroglyphs. And while she didn’t know what either of those words meant, she felt them all the same. Just looking at the weird shapes was making her head spin. Having lived her entire life in various wastelands among demons and brutes, she had never learned to write or read. So her shock and surprise were palpable when the helpful adult offered a translation. An excited gasp left her lips. “Oh, you can understand the squigglies! Just like the old demons!” Her golden pupils twinkled like tiny stars filled with pure wonder. The teacher held the small student’s undivided attention for a good while. Sure, the scatterbrained Majin failed to understand any of the facts presented, but she still thought they were neat. “Dragon...” With a mesmerized mutter, she repeated the only fact that stuck. Funny... She had imagined dragons to be... bigger. And angrier. With wings and fiery breath. At least that’s how the old demons described them. But! This lizard was also pretty big. Way bigger than the small ones back home. “Hee, dragon~!” In response, the big lizard flicked its tongue again. Aaaaand back to the tongue routine the girl went. However, Zam was stopped mid-mlem when Baccer suddenly approached her, leaving her staring back with her tongue out. A most puzzled blep. ...What? That was totally real terminology. Doubters should look it up. Aaanyway... She was listening closely, trying her hardest to understand. Hate, scare, adventures, fun, eggshells... The words flowed into her ears and swirled inside her head. Once the boy finished his spiel... There was no answer. Silent seconds ticked by ever so slowly. The tension felt... electric. Finally the quiet girl retracted her tongue. With a thoughtful hum, she cocked her head. “Hm.” Hm, indeed. Suddenly a bright smile appeared on her features. “Okay~!” She lunged without a warning, trying to wrap the boy into a warm, squishy and slightly crushing hug. “We are friends now!” They really were polar opposites. Where Baccer was prone to overthinking everything, Zam simply didn’t think. To say her brain relied too much on emotion was... erm... giving her too much credit. More accurately, she went with a gut feeling. Intuition. Now that the major misunderstanding had been cleared out, her gut told her it was okay to be friends. And speaking of misunderstandings... If the Majin had gotten her hug, she would finally release it. Stepping back, she suddenly gave the boy an oddly stern look. “But you can’t have my back. Is mine!” She aimed a dramatic point at him. “And I don’t want yours either. Your wings are weird.” Yup, she had no filter either. Whatever vague thoughts popped into her head didn’t stay there for long before hurrying out of her mouth. She leaned to the side and gave the black wings a suspicious stare. They were definitely not bird wings or demon wings. “Super weird.” She declared with a firm nod. With that decided, she hurried after Clove, eager to see more interesting critters.
