Sanare had heard of a great fishing tournament to be scheduled. It seemed like the kind of thing she would actually enjoy checking out. She was even more excited to learn they had fishing poles there and would be letting anyone who wanted to fish! She wasn't trying to become no angler woman, but it could be a nice change of pace for a change.
Or she had thought. She had accidently marked down the wrong start time for the event! By the time she got there the event was all but over. It was a little disappointing but someone told her they were doing another semi tournament the following week. She was determined to get the right time!
And so she did! She showed up just ten minutes after it had started, plenty of time to get a pole and hope for the best. She wasn't very good at catching anything and at times it was a little overwhelming with all the people around her giving her advice. She did manage to catch something though. She had a blasted and looked forward to the next time such an event would happen. WC: 192 pl: 1501d100·1d26

RP post:
"What is this nonsense..." The demon sword Usumidori was leaned up against some rocks near a relief that the girl had set shop up on. The small girl sitting on the large rocks next to the shores of the island she found a good spot on. She found it of her own intuition. Mostly because the sword refused wholeheartedly to help. Like, at all. The begging got bad enough that the sword had to put off to the side. Anything to muffle his commanding voice a little. It wasn't even ten minutes before something snagged onto her bamboo pole either.
"It's called fishing, sir. I-I've been trying to explain to you that this will help us find what you require. Aie!" The girl struggled a bit up against this first potential catch. Bracing small shoes up against an upright standing rock. A match that the girl was not really strong enough to win. Almost out of some pity the demon sword twitched and jolted in place before sliding across some rough terrain to her. It's closer proximity strengthening herself and her will. The energy on loan from the demon sword who usually preferred just directly controlling the girl.
"And how is a fishing competition suppose to help me find Masamune? This seems like a pointless test that you are not, frankly, cut out for." Feeling his strength course through her, the small child pulled back and stood into a backpedal. Reeling this large saltwater fish in with one last heave. Something sudden and triumphant. She'd sigh and put it aside. First one of the day.
"I-I mean... You're here to help me with this, yeah? The rewards are plenty, there's something in here bound to help us! The sword just laughed, ominously situating itself back to the girl's side and threading itself to her hip. There was a lot more involved than that, and his laughing didn't stop even with a new line being cast.
"Naive Child. I've never given you my power for long periods of time. What makes you think it'd not just tear your soul apart to have me take control constantly? We both know you're but a kid. There is a reason I only come out when I do." One would think that'd make her such a weak vessel for the great demon, but he'd not seem to ever bring up such a point. Instead of pointing to her current ineptitude. And that was the point. Griselda just smiled and sat back down. Ready for the next pull.
"Well... Maybe that's why... That's why I want to attempt to do it more frequently. Strong people aren't going to stop attacking me in one blow, you will want a vessel who can keep up with you yes? Then consider this training, at least. Come on, it's the least I can do for you, sir." After some further coaxing, the two had agreed to try pushing their currently weak link between one another. Going back and forth between their souls and body, pulling it much more big fish that expected from a girl her size and standing. On Grissy's way out at dusk... She tripped over some dusty jar jammed into the rocky relief she sat upon prior. Finding something absolutely worth their time...

Breathe. Just breathe. In and out, just like his mother always taught him.
He close his eyes and sighed.
He needed to focus on the task at hand and shut everything else out of his mind. The ocean waves lapping gently against the wooden pier, the shrill cry of seagulls flying overhead, frantic splash of water and the heavy grunts of the other anglers as they struggled with their catches.
He could do this. All he had to do was—
"Can you hurry up already? How long does it take to catch a freaking fish?"
His father's baritone bark shattered his reverie, startling Note. He lost his concentration as his fishing rod slipped from his hand, dropping into the water. At the same time he lost control of his mature form: a heavy disorientation overcame the noble youth as he immediately shrank down to his true form—a small, frail-looking child.
Note scrabbled to the edge of the pier, desperate to catch the tail end of his rod. It floated for just a moment—long enough to tantalize him— before disappearing into the ocean depths.
Tears welled in his eyes, lower lip trembling as he stared at the spot his fishing rod once was. Cress's heavy hand came down upon his shoulder with a light squeeze.
"Don't worry about it, kid. You'll get it next time." He dug a finger into his ear. "Let's go grab some grub."
"B-But... I-I..."
Note hung his head and pouted. He'd just lost his favorite fishing lure.

Result: 1x Dragon ball Shard
RP post: Joining in a fishing contest wasn't something she had in mind when she started her training early today but eh. She needed to gather info somehow and she betted that all sorts of people would be in a big event like this. The rewards were pretty appealing so at least it wouldn't be time wasted. She could definitely use the money to buy equipment that would aid her in her hunt, maybe a sword or a staff. Maybe some spare machinery or new shoes. She snapped out of her thoughts right as she was about to ask herself why would she think about new shoes at a time like this right when something pulled the line. It wasn't a strong pull and it was following the direction of the water but still was something that got her alarmed, definitely it had something in it. Maybe a small fish or a piece of something dragging the line along.
Pushing it with all of her might as she didn't want another fish to escape an object flew out of the rod, it was shining enough that she could see it in mid air, jumping to grab it and trying to cover it with her hands so that no one sees it. Examining it up close reveals that it's a Dragon Ball Shard. Smiling as she felt the energy from within the shard, pushing it inside her chest to keep it safe as her database detected it as one of the most important materials in the world. One that could forge items of great power and once was even part of something much greater that could concede any wish. Part of her doubt that legend but in her short time in the outside world she learned that anything is possible, even green giant wish granting dragons.
Doctor's orders was to bring it back to the lab immediately if she ever came close to one and she never thought that she would find one so soon. Now there isn't exactly a lab to return to but she knows all too well what to do with this shard. Crafting a legendary artifact would help her in her pursuit and this is better than any other prize. Maybe now she could get some really special new boots, or maybe a more powerful energy core would help. There was so much that she could do with a dragon ball shard and weapons were the first thing that came to mind. Berry was programmed almost completely for warfare, she only had a few bits of rogue programming that was due to get purged at some point but thats it.
Finishing her business quickly at the event she fished a little more and didn't get as many fish as she hoped for but it was not bad for her first time, especially with her findings early. She sat on the ground and observed the other fisherman compete. She placed her elbow on her knee and the palm of her hand on her cheek as she scanned the surroundings. Fishing was a bit 'fun' and even rewarding but she didn't get why they would host an entire event for it. Definitely something else to add to the database. The species likes festivities and competitions and not just the martial type. Anything with a prize and a competitive air is enough for them to get pumped up. After the event was over she smiled and turned her back to the sea, getting up and walked with a smug grim on her face. She didn't care about winning that competition as she already had a great prize.

Fish Caught rABgxm6b1d100
Condition 1d26
Result: Aventus had joined the fishing competition not out of necessity or the desire for anything more than to simply pass the time. He took up residence near some other fishermen, the cheery folk of the waters waving to him with friendly smiles. He returned their waves with his own, though not with the smile. His spot was rather bland compared to some, a simple blanket to sit upon and a small basket with a lure. His eyes cast to the water as he listened to the water trickle at the shore. The laughter of the others filled the air, the world about him filled with the fun times others were having.
His mind drifted to his duty as he thought of what must be done, but ultimately cast it aside. He could do that in the future, for now he was here to enjoy the peace. He was thankful that he could even enjoy the scene at all. His ears enjoyed the sounds of laughter just as much as he enjoyed the peace. His hands loosely gripped the fishing rod as he gazed off into the horizon, his mind blank of all the important thoughts that haunted him. It wasn't until he finally got a hook, a jerk of his hand that he snapped out of it. A nearby fishermen chuckling as he fumbled with his rod. Eventually he got it under control before pulling quickly. His hand reeling as fast as it could and just when he began to wonder what he had caught that felt more like a log than a fish, a capsule came flying from the surface of the water directly into his hands.
His eyes were filled with surprise as he looked down at it, the object filled to the brim with zenny. His head tilted in confusion as he didn't realize he could catch this and was about to throw it back when he was greeted by an official who touched his shoulder. As quickly as it all transpired, he was now standing up filling out a paper stating he had just one fifty thousand zenny! A few fishermen patted him on the back as the event came to a close and he was ushered along with the group. A rather strange ending to a peaceful day to say the least!

Result:
Parzin had come all the way back to South City in order to partake in its biannual fishing contest that it was hosting this year. When he was little, the orphanage he grew up in, took the kids to come and watch this contest every two years, and Parzin loved watching all the fishing participants do their thing. Now Parzin wasn’t one to take any fame or fortune from this kind of event, he was more the type of person to partake in it just to have a good time and to relax, and maybe take a small consolation prize or a participation prize, but nothing that was too big or fancy. He always had thought fishing was one of the calmest and most relaxing activities one person could do. The sport wasn’t about catching the biggest or the most amount of fish, the whole point of the sport was to enjoy it and have a good time while doing it, and he was able to see that a lot of the entrants in this contest, just were not doing that at all. Parzin went to his little hutch he had in the City, it was a small abandoned shack in the middle of the woods that he kept some stuff in, particularly his fighting equipment. He went and grabbed his gear and made his way over to the contest location. Once he got there he signed himself up for the contest at the sign up table and then he made his way over to the water. There he could see all kinds of people taking all sorts of different techniques to this contest, some were on boats, some were just fishing off the side of the shore, some even were in the water trying to catch fish with a net or spear. Parzin was just a simple man and did what a few of the others were doing, he went ahead and moved to an area where there were not as many people using and set up his fishing equipment and casted his rod out into the water. Over the course at least three to four hours, he had caught a good amount of fish in his basket. He had figured that this was enough to bring to the judges of the event. He proceeded to pack up all of his supplies and once he was done with that he walked over to the judges with his fish to see what he could get with the amount he was able to catch during his time in the contest.
