He had decided to fight less and talk more, to help him adjust more to this world instead of just his own world. Except.. Bryce was unable to ignore the power he felt while he was at his farm. It was just about the biggest energy signature he had felt in quite a while, and as a result it piqued his interest immensely; feeling he did not want to fight just to fight, but to see how he would fare against it. To push himself beyond the limits of his own mind. And what more, something that gave off this kind of energy would most likely be able to take a good amount of hits, and that on his own was enough for the mandroid to try and locate the source.
Taking to the sky was Bryce, a force to be reckoned with by every definition. And as he looked around to try and link a location to the energy he sensed he would end up concentrating on a small patch of land just outside a nearby city. There were trees, too many to count and as he began to fly closer he noticed that those trees held all kinds of flowers, from red to green, blue and purple, white and black. For as much as his memory would allow him to go back to his days as a monk he could not remember ever seeing trees with black flowers in it. In fact, not even his current knowledge could tell him of a tree with black flowers. The other colors were something of a staple, but black stumped him, and caused him to momentarily pause. Could the unnatural color that the trees there held be the effect of that power he felt somehow?
Flying closer he would quickly see a silhouette. What exactly it was of he couldn't yet make out, but the energy eminating from it made that part seem less important as just figuring out just how strong it was, and by comparison how strong he was.
Landing on the ground quite a bit away to not startle it he had to walk along the trees to get to it. Noticing all the unique colors and seeing how everything bloomed was.. it took him back, really. It was so serene, so calming and so quiet. And like his own farm this place helped ease his mind, allowing for more coherent thought. Bryce took a mental note of where this place was, because he was sure this could help him in the time to come.
But being calmed down further wasn't why he had come here, the source of the power he felt was the cause of that, and as he moved along the trees he would find himself in an open space, with a woman standing, tending to ther trees, plants, and almost everything around. Was she the source of this power? Bryce's head tilted a bit as he looked at the woman.. or girl, she looked young. But old at the same time, for some reason.
The mandroid tried to get the attention of the girl as best as he could. ''Hey, you.'' It was one of his best social interactions, to be sure. ''You seem to hold a bit of power. Would you like to help me train?''

Misaki thought deeply about the question Bryce had asked her. It was certainly not one that she'd expected to have plopped on her. Then again, she supposed she didn't see a man without an aura to feel plop down in front of her very often either - let alone one so large. It was as though she was looking at a black hole... an android? If so, it wasn't obvious. She imagined most natural people didn't have as imposing a frame, but she'd known a few exceptions. The thought of what she'd said caused her to wrinkle her nose, though. As much as she liked what he was saying, Misaki sighed, as she gave the reply. "As much as I'm honored by the request, I'm afraid I cannot, since..." Wait a minute Misaki thought of it for a moment. She'd been caught in the tail end of her duties, and had actually been planning to end an hour early. For the most part, she had no duties to get back to. She was sure this was definitely outside social norms, as well - people didn't go challenging others on the street- but it would only ever be a problem if she had a problem with it, right? She supposed in a way, there was nothing so wrong with it if it was politely asked, even if it was sudden on introduction. Perhaps she should ask people so brazenly more often? Or at least, some people. She supposed Hachi, at least, would dislike that, and Coral seemed firmly against sparring with her in general, so maybe she should leave it alone... Wait. She was in the middle of a conversation as she thought all this, head tilted and a finger scratching under her chin. Snapping back to attention, Misaki's red eyes flashed in excitement as she looked up to the larger man. "Yes! I Suppose that actually does work, after all. I am Misaki Kazamiya, head gardener of the Zen Teahouse. It's a pleasure to make your acquaintance. And you are...?" she asked, her tone as close as it ever go to 'chipper', through her veneer of politeness. Tolvur-Q12

''Ah, right, sorry.'' Bryce said, his hand scratching at the back of his head. ''I'm Bryce-'' And apparently they were not only mentioning first names, but also last names. ''-Vandross-'' And occupation, even. Though the mandroid couldn't really answer that one seeing as he didn't really have one. Though he supposed freelancer came close to what he did, accepting money for all kinds of chores.. ''-freelancer of sorts. I think.''
But there was something that made his mind stop for a bit, and it wasn't all the nature around that did it. ''Zen teahouse..?'' Bryce repeated. It was almost like he knew that name, and the realization then of what it meant almost made him overlook the fact that she agreed to training with him. Not that she went in depth in saying so before introducing herself, but the android supposed there were a few social steps he had missed himself.
''Aren't those..'' He started. ''I mean, isn't that a pig demon thing? Like the duchies or something? Dutchies?'' Those people he owed quite a lot to, those people had 'given' him a plot of land to build his house on. But in that case, wouldn't she know of it? ''I've met Melody a few times. Was it Melody..?'' He wondered for a moment. ''Yes! Melody. She was nice, even fought alongside her once. Fun fight. Was against some cat and some kind of samurai..''
It took him a bit to realize he was probably boring that Misaki, and he stopped when it hit him. And doubly so when he was backtracking a bit to where she said that she agreed to train with him. That got Bryce to shut up real good as he got into a fighting stance, consisting of him.. not moving a muscle and letting his body do all the preparing for him.
''Come on Misaki, lets go.'' ================= TWC: 865

Misaki took Bryce's statement with a very practiced, polite smile. "Ahh, a freelancer. I understand."
Inwardly, behind the perfect mask of an elegant lady, the gardener was freaking out. Freelancer? She had no idea what a freelancer was! It had 'lance' in the name.... was this man a soldier? had she accidentally brought law enforcement or military onto the land? It shouldn't be a problem, as she was certain Lord Koma and Lady Juniper had nothing to hide... but she couldn't be sure. Maybe Freelancer was just another word for freeloader? did he live here. If so, even as a freeloader, she should know his name! Misaki was being incredibly impolite if that was the case-
The Demonic dumb-dumb was brought out of her silent soliloquy by Bryce's next statement. "...Lady Melody? Ahhh, if I recall, she's taking time to enjoy the simpler things in life at the moment. For now, the teahouse is run by Lady Juniper and Lord Koma. Well, if you're a friend of the house, I should show you proper respect..."
And with that, Misaki's eyes flashed as she gently rested the tip of her parasol into the cobblestone pathway she stood on, as though she was bearing a sword, and her energy was released, Green ribbons of energy surrounding her.
"...Right this way. We have a place for training with this sort of thing." The Gardener added, a smile creeping onto her face. she enjoyed these rare times she didn't need to keep her own power quite so... restrained."

The Gardener quickly lead the two of them to the training room, smiling as she noticed her opponent confidently trailing behind. she was used to fear or compliments or the like, none of which she was necessarily looking for in a strong opponent. this one seemed simply - attentive. interested. which meant that they potentially were still more than a challenge. Misaki did not have to reach for for someone just as strong - she lived in the Zen Teahouse, after all, difficult battles were not hard to find even at her level - but each new person, each new challenger she had ever faced had only caused her to continue to grow in power and skill. She did not think it would be any different with this strange man. Of course, as they entered the dojo, the arena set and prepped for them, Misaki made sure to flip a quick switch - giving the necessary ki protection to the walls and windows to prevent any damage from this encounter. Misaki took a deep breath, and as they stepped into the center of the ring, released it, Emerald energy spiraling around her in a helix as she concentrated. Every muscle, every movement tightly controlled as she observed her opponent like a snake looking at prey. "...Well then, shall we begin?" Misaki asked, her voice staying polite even as her energies sang like a bonfire. BATTLE TRACKER SUMMARY Natural PL: 43,609 Base PL: 98,120

The vibes he got from this.. Misaki.. man, she was just eerily calm when speaking to him. Almost reminded Bryce of his mentor back at the monastery, but luckily things didn't go far enough to trigger him, in fact things actually went in the opposite direction. As he entered the dojo with her and some kind of switch was flicked, he could feel her energy rise, it was amazing, and enough to make the mandroid feel all giddy and very nearly drop back into his old habits. Which, considering the size of this power could be something he was okay with assuming he could control it. In fact, maybe this dojo was just the right place to do so. And judging by the power Misaki held he would not be able to merely outpower it, so even if he did fail to control himself he was sure to be restrained somehow. And if not by the girl then by the rest of the Clan or whatever they called the inhabitants of this place. Tea-ists? Duchie-ist? But the restraining bit felt undesirable though, and a last resort at best as he wanted to make a good first impression, show himself and those around him it wasn't a wasted effort to leave him be. In either case, the girl had gotten ready, it seemed. And Bryce would follow suit, his systems powering up and creating back up plans for those what if moments. But it didn't end there, because the mandriod felt he needed to make a lasting first impression, and had the feint idea in his mind that this place was built to withstand trauma, he decided to spruce things up a bit. For an android it would be odd to be felt gathering energy, but if Misaki were to sense closely she would feel large slivers of energy being sucked in to twirl around the hand of Bryce, which he then raised to point his index finger at the girl. ''Beginning seems like a good idea.'' He smiled. ''Guests first, right?'' And with that he fired four separate beams of energy which twirled around each other from a single fingertip. ============== TWC: 1,225 Defensive Phase Bryce is hit 0 time(s) for 0 damage!

Surge of emotion - You may activate this as a bonus action to add the 'ultra-destructive' signature technique modifier to any special or finishing techniques used this turn. You may activate this up to three (3) times per thread.
Techniques
Clash [1/1] -13 ki + cost of attack When you activate Clash, you perform one attack of your choosing in response to a single unresolved attack targeting you. Reduce the damage of the target attack by the amount of damage that your own attack would deal. You must still make an Accuracy Roll, and if your attack's total damage would exceed your opponent's, they must respond to your attack as if you had performed it normally- with an additional damage modifier equal to the damage roll(s) of your opponent’s attack. If this would reduce an attack's damage to 0, you also resist any effects it would have caused.
Enhanced focus energy ∞ - 3 ki Increase your Accuracy with Energy Attacks on this turn by +15. Your Energy Attacks have an additional +15% chance to inflict Status Effects this turn.
Enhanced rapid movement ∞ - 8 ki You gain +25 Defense against unresolved attacks targeting you this turn. This is reduced to +10 Defense when used against a Special Technique of the “Finisher” type. Using Rapid Movement versus a Critical Hit now prevents that attack from automatically hitting, requiring it to meet or beat your Defense value as if it were not a critical hit; Critical Hits affected by this still deal additional damage and are affected by any effects that specify Critical Hits.
Energy constructs [0/1] - 8 ki Energy Construct is activated as a Bonus Action and grants 4 Energy Constructs. As an At-Will Action, you may spend a single construct for an effect listed below. You may use at-wills from this technique more than once in a given turn.
--Give +10 to a single Accuracy roll on your turn. One per attack. --Gain +2 bonus damage for a single attack you make. Two per attack max. --Add an additional +15% chance to inflict a status effect for a single attack or item on your turn that has one already. The max chance to inflict with any effect is 95%. One per attack. --As a reaction you gain +10 Defense against all attacks. One per turn. --As a reaction you gain 4 DR against all attacks during turn. One per turn.
Feint [2/2] -8 ki You avoid 1 attack targeting you on this turn; this does not work against Critical Hits.
Judgement blast -11 ki Damage: 4d6+4 Effect: Charging - Focus Energy grants this technique an additional +10 Accuracy; this does not apply multiple times from consecutive uses of Focus Energy. Effect: Blinding - This technique has a 30% chance to inflict Blind on hit.
Revenger charge [0/3] [0/3] -0 ki You gain a stack of Ambient Ki each time you or an opponent misses with a Basic or Special Energy Technique. Additionally, a stack is gained each time you take 10 or more damage from a Basic or Special Energy Technique. Three stacks of Ambient Ki can be spent as an At-Will action to increase your Accuracy with a single Energy attack by +30. This effect stacks with Focus Energy and may be used to trigger the Charging Special Technique effect.
Items
R.A.D - Rapid Adaptive Defensive When in a fight, any non-basic technique being used in successive turns will lose 20 accuracy. This is lost however, if the opponent ceases to use this move in any given turn. As an item of great power this boosts your PL by 30%.
Auxiliary core Increase your Base Power Level by 10%. Twice per battle, you may perform a Special Technique without paying its Ki Cost. After both uses of this item have been used in a single thread, it no longer has any effect for the remainder of that thread. [2/2]
Bio suit You heal 3 HP at the end of each turn.
Champion's gi At the beginning of your turn, you may choose 1 of the following Effects: You gain +10 Defense this turn(applied before incoming attack resolution), you gain +15 Accuracy with all Basic Techniques this turn, or you gain +15 Accuracy with a single Special Technique used this turn. 1 bonus per turn At-will
Obi Decrease the cost of all your Techniques by 2 ki.
Traits Class feature Solid foundation - rapid movement You begin play with 1 Enhanced Basic Technique; you may learn a second Enhanced Basic Technique upon reaching Potential Mastery level 5.
Class feature Combo attack Each time one of your attacks hit, increase the Accuracy of attacks used on subsequent turns by +5, stacking to a maximum of +20. This bonus is reduced to +0 on the turn following an attack failing to hit its target.
Class feature Flexible technician Once per turn, as an At-Will Action, you may change a Special Technique’s type- from Single, Barrage, or Area into another type; this alters that technique’s cost and damage to match its “new” type.
Class feature Practice makes perfect You may spend 4 MP to upgrade your Special Techniques. An Upgraded Special Technique gains +10 Accuracy and +4 Damage.
Class trait Flawless counter On a turn in which you use a Defensive Technique in response to an incoming attack, increase your accuracy with attacks made on that turn by +20.
Class trait Dynamic entry You may perform 1 Attack on your first combat turn of a thread.
Racial Infinite core type You regain 2 Ki at the end of every turn and cannot be afflicted with Exhausted from hitting 0 Ki.
Surge Whenever you use your Focus Energy Basic Technique, you regain 35 Ki and increase your Current Power Level by 25% for 2 turns; this is considered a use of Power Up for the purposes of Power Up’s ki restoration limit.
Efficiency Your Basic Techniques cost 1 less ki, your Utility and Defense Techniques cost 3 less ki, and your Special Techniques cost 5 less ki. The minimum cost for any Technique(whose base cost is not already 0) is 1 ki.
Warning shot You may perform 1 ranged attack on your first turn of combat. It deals no damage, but reduces its target’s Defense by an amount equal to the damage it would have dealt for 3 turns if it “hits”.
Endure Increases your HP by +25.

Azure energy surrounded Misaki like an ethereal Venus flytrap, covering Misaki protectively as the blows were struck and holding the blasts back. Misaki held a palm forward as the energy shuddered and shook, chaotically pushing against the bonds Misaki put upon it, but the power was not master, it was servant, and Misaki's will held firm, causing the barrier to harden and stand firm and the energy to reform into the image of a thorned nettle. "Well, of course." Misaki would reply with a grin, the relatively expressionless face giving partly way to a half-smirk as the gardener began to lose her ability to hold her enthusiasm back. "Well, it's only first, though, so the second goes to the home-owner, I do believe." And with that, Misaki held up her parasol-hand, pointing it forward as she focused her energy. Just a few blasts, to start off, feel out her opponent's defenses. That should do. The Greenette's grin grew more pronounced as emerald energy enveloped the tip of her parasol, the point drawing a line towards her opponent's chest as Misaki gave off a glow. The florist's energy ball grew more pronounced, splitting in two, and a green glow briefly pulsed outwards as the orbs coalesced into a dual beam that ripped through the air - headed straight towards their target's chest. The warrior gave a more whole-hearted grin as her eyes gave off a flash of red light. This was looking to be more fun than she'd expected, and with a raising of her hands, petals of energy came forth from the ground around Bryce, each quickly seeking to envelop the warrior in a series of explosions. Misaki seemed to be able to take it. The attack by Bryce just shattered around her and didn't fully hit her, which was a sign of what he had sensed previously; she held great power. It also meant that he could let go without really fearing much, aside from maybe damaging the surroundings. But he would help fix those if he ended up damaging them. His attack hit, but also didn't hit. There was a sense of pride from the mandroid followed by a sense of joy because he finally found someone able to take what he could dish out. It had been a while since he had been around someone who could take one of his blasts and come out reasonably unscathed. Then came the (quick) retaliation, and Bryce could only barely duck out of the way of the first blast headed his way, which then impacted into the wall behind him. But he didn't have time to admmire what it would have left behind since the reflexes of the robotic monk made him respond to the second incoming blast by throwing his fist against it in the hopes of not getting hit in the face with it. The energy dissipated and while leaving some marks on his fist it didn't do what it was intending to do. But that wasn't the end of it either, because after that Bryce could feel some energy gathering beneath his feet. Logically he assumed this was there to hurt him in one way or another, and soon petals exploded from the ground only to then explode a second time in an attempt to hurt the mandroid. It nearly succeeded too if only Bryce hadn't been smart enough to vanish out of the way of the energy the moment he sensed it. A smirk was to be seen on his face after avoiding it all. ''Home-owner?'' He replied. ''You own this place?'' Bryce looked at what surrounded them for a moment before training his eyes on Misaki once more with another stretched out arm, a finger pointing at her in order for him to retaliate this time with a grin. ''I'll have to keep that in mind.'' A red hue shone from his finger as energy gathered on the tip of his finger just like before, an attempt to recreate the same hit as earlier. ''Assuming I can find you here, that is.'' He said, his grin widening as he shot the same four beams he did before, attempting to hit his opponent anywhere they could. =========================== TWC: 1,648 Defensive Phase Bryce is hit 1 time(s) for 7 damage! 7 damage - 4 DR = 3 damage!

Revenger charge [3/3] [0/3] -0 ki You gain a stack of Ambient Ki each time you or an opponent misses with a Basic or Special Energy Technique.
