''That ought to do it.'' Bryce whispered to himself as the last of the debris from his home was moved away, reduced to rubble by a mere touch and then removed by that farmer human who decided it was okay to give this place away. But hey, at least it was help. And this, together with some more information, could help him in more ways than one.
''Have some.'' He sternly said as he picked up some piece of fruit he had picked before and chucked it over to the farmer, who had to drop the garbage bag in his hands to be able to catch it. He did same grateful though, putting the fruit in his mouth and taking a major bite as he thanked the mandroid. ''What..'' Bryce began, catching the attention of the farmer, but quickly falling short as he didn't yet have the social intelligence to know what to ask. Small talk wasn't his thing.
And the farmer caught on, yet he decided to play coy for the moment, not knowing that one minor missed beat could end up with Bryce's boot up his colon. ''Did ya.. say somethin'?'' He asked as he decided to continue doing nothing except eating the fruit given to him. Ignoring the mandroid for the moment, he smiled to himself and turned away to look in the distance, only to see Bryce appear before him in an instant with a hand threatening to cut the jugular of the farmer. The fuit dropped from the mouth and hit the arm of the mandroid before dropping to the ground. For as much fun the farmer thought he could have, he lacked the knowledge of Bryce not being an ordinary human, or even a human at all.
''You should do well not to mock me.'' He said as he lowered his hand, looking intently at the farmer as he decided to give this man another chance, walking off to the opposite side of him. There was an audible sigh from him, and a short silence between him and the farmer who appeared to be shaken to his core. But, there was one thing this told Bryce; if this small action rendered him speechless and scared, he imagined a real life threat on his life would do much worse.
His hand fell to his chest; his mind racing and telling him that this was wrong of him to do. Somewhere he knew why this was so, but he also did not feel like apologizing for it. If he let this fly, he would have to let everything fly. Besides, in the end the man would die anyway, so why not right now? Bryce looked over his shoulder at the building behind him and the farm behind it; the growing fruit and the serenity behind it all. There was a hint of that farmer that haunted him, that part of him wanted to just dispose of, but something about this place.. stopped that. It was like he was able to see the reasoning behind more things now. Maybe the farmer was helping him because he was scared. Could that be it though?
Bryce shook it off and looked at the farmer briefly, letting his hand rise to the sky and motioning for the farmer to go away. ''Go be with your family.'' He said. ''I have no need of you here.''
The farmer looked at him and opened his mouth for a brief second, but didn't have the guts to go against what the mandroid just said, seeing as he did things the farmer could not explain; and did not want to have repeats of. One set of threats was enough for him. So with a simple nod he turned and took off, leaving Bryce alone in his field of crops and still half wrecked home.
It was nothing he couldn't fix on his own, there was no brick too heavy and no debris too thick for him to reduce to rubble. The skeleton of his home stood still, so it was a matter of just making a home out of it. Something that was easy as he had done it before, and while his memory was rusty in places there was enough left for him to remember what kind of materials he had used, as well as how to place them. It was merely a matter of time before he would finish his house, and the rest was farming and keeping his mind in order.
As the place surrounding him came more together, so did the calmness in his mind, driving out the urge to hurt, maim and kill for no reason. Like some time ago, with that cat-girl, the man he had killed before that was someone killed for no real reason, he now realized. And the girl even told him that back then, but he had other things going on in his mind. This made him realize that he needed to do something about this all, he couldn't rely on a physical place to keep him calm and to allow him to come to 'normal' conclusions. Maybe he needed something to take with him, or some sort of mobile version of this place.. or maybe he could find some kind of doctor somewhere who could help him get rid of some of his thoughts, or maybe even layer some new ones over them.
But then again, doing that would mean losing old memories, right? Granted, he didn't have too many of those right now, but if it meant losing them when all he needed was a trigger to help him remember it felt like a hefty decision to make. But what if he didn't lose anything at all and he could just will his thoughts to run less rampant? That would be an amazing option to have. Maybe he could find the same scientist who installed this new system in him and ask them if they could come up with a solution? Because while he was around his own home he knew his decisions were morally dilapitated, but in the heat of the moment it was like there was a huge red curtain pulled over his vision that made everyone the bad guy.
Working on this was paramount though, he knew. Relying on some scientist who he may or may not find and then may or may not kill for a solution that may or may not help him was nothing but the longest of shots, and he knew that before there was even a chance of that happening he would need to find his own ways first.
Bryce used to be a monk, or so he remembered. Wouldn't that.. be able to help him figure out how to continuously keep his cool? Internalizing how his home looked was the first step though, but it looking like it did currently was nothing to write home about. Maybe he needed some decoration, like some figures of something, or a nice fruitbowl. He had vegetables growing outside.. maybe those could work? Or maybe he could trade those with someone for fruit for decoration purposes?
First up was a shelf though, a sturdy shelf made of oakwood. But where could he get that? His first thought was maybe felling a tree himself, but that would never get him a plank suitable as a shelf, so he finally decided on buying one. Luckily he had the money to spare, and, as he went out to procure a simple wooden shelf along with what he needed to hang it up, he decided to splurge a little and expand his farm a bit; so hge bought more seeds to grow! This time, different vegetables! That'd maybe also help in making his house look more.. lively.
With him back home with the required tools to get a shelf up, he thought about what he could exactly put up there. Lately he had been getting into some money, and maybe he should spend that on a way to be less.. aggressive all the time. Maybe that would help him make money faster! Yes! Spend money to make money, that sounded smart!
''What should I buy..?'' He wondered, not really knowing what other people had as decoration, and what was considered normal or not. Going out and staring at figurines all day would make him mad, in a way, so that was not the ideal idea. Finally he went out, and, without really looking got two figurines to help spruce up his home a bit. One was of a kid eating hotdogs, it looked funny really. There was a name on it but he assumed that was just because.. well.. wasn't art supposed to have some name on it? Maybe this 'Celerai' had made this silly figurine?
The second figurine he got was one with mixed feelings, but it did instill in him a strange calm. It was of some sort of samurai, and if he knew the person- 'Riku, it read- he failed to remember them. Still the figure looked pretty cool though, especially next to the hotdog eating kid. Both combined really did something to liven up what he tried calling home and would hopefully help him remain more composed when out there in the future.
But no matter what that did, there was still the farm to plant. It was still the same plot and the same soil, but, as said before, different seeds. That would make for more customers, maybe? Like his other seeds these were rapidly growing ones, allowing for more crops to form in a short amount of time, and allowing for more frequent and bountiful harvests. He could smell the money coming off of it already. Maybe he'd need another thing for expanding next, like some kind of training center or something? That would surely help him getting rid of pent up aggression. Or maybe something with animals to keep him calm, or maybe some trees, nice and calming trees.
Or maybe it would be wise to invest in living quarters for other people, maybe contacts were what he was missing. This was a harsh realization he made only after already having lived like this for quite some time, and his problems had stemmed only from the time he spent as an android without contacts other than himself.
But maybe that was what he needed to keep himself in check and not this effort spent trying to 'liven' up his house with those figures he didn't even know! As soon as he had put them up and allowed his mind to wonder to those kinds of things did he realize that, while those figurines did personalize his house, they also infuriated him. But that was for another time, because as irritated as he was being right now he was still able to think like a normal person, and in the end that was the goal!
Though his thoughts about everything else he could do to his house were also helping quite a bit, so maybe it was simply as easy as just thinking about new rooms for his house if something started to anger him. But in the meantime making friends was a good idea, though he had no real idea how to go about doing that other than offering them some home grown food..
As he thought about food he briefly looked outside, to his crops that seemed to be growing into something already. The seeds had a name to live up to, afer all, and they seemed to do that quite perfectly. Though Bryce wondered.. like those other ones, did these ones also have something 'special' about them? Would they add some kind of power like them, or were they just bigger in size, or what he could barely discern in his current state, did they have more nutritional value?
A simple walk outside and a taste test would suffice, he figured, in helping him figure it out. But as he did so he found that even if they added something special, they were plain delicious!
With him being an android, Bryce had dinner for the first time that night.
