Walking through the streets of the Central City, Nase had become very tired after his many interactions with others and was as ready as ever to end the day, until he realized that he had nowhere to go to. Patting himself down, he also noticed that he only had a few hundred dollars left as well to his name.
"No money either, huh? Should probably find a job to do before I look for a hotel or something. Sigh... This is just great..."
Dragging himself further along the road, he looked around to see if he could find any place that would hire him just for the time being. 'There's got to be someplace' he kept repeating over and over in his head until it hit him. Literally, it hit him.
"Agh! What the hell?!"
Pulling the flyer out of his face, Nae saw what looked to be an ad of some sort for a tech company. 'Capsule Corporation West is now hiring interns for research and data collection purposes! All backgrounds are eligible. Don't wait until it's too late!' an energetic caricature of a scientist yelled on the graphic. Heh, that sounds easy enough, right?
"Wait, that's the building that was only a little way off from that Tea and Coffee place. This is perfect!"
Looking down at the fine print of the advertisement, Nase noticed an asterisk underneath it and confusedly read out loud.
"Only available in the West City building of the Capsule Corporation Son of a..."

"Come on, let's do this already."Hopping methodically in place, Nase closed his eyes and started to concentrate on his legs. Having previously walked into an alleyway as to not be too in public while doing this, he felt as if now was the perfect time to try a new technique, now that he had to travel all the way to another city.
"Here we go... NOW!"
Jumping high into the air, he pushed both of his hands to the ground and the hatches on his palms released with a quick Shunk sound. Almost as quickly as they opened, energy, the faint green that Nase normally released, came spewing out and to his surprise, kept Nase hovering midair. After seconds of this, energy started coming from his feet as well, stabilizing him completely. Nase had learnt how to fly.
"Yes! It worked. It actually worked!"
Juvenilely celebrating his success by spinning around, Nase thought about all the progress he's made in his short bout in adventuring. He had one his first fight against some thugs, he had met a bunch of terrifying new people who didn't immediately attack him, and now he was able to do something he had only seen once after hearing so much of it from his childhood. This realization of ability was cut short, however, as his thoughts lead him to remember the death of his parents that brought him to this level.
Looking at his hands in reflection, he realized he still hadn't gotten anywhere near knowing what could have caused the attack in the first place, or what he had become after his ailing father helped him. Closing his hands, he shook those thoughts away and looked towards the sky, seeing that the sky looked very clear and bright, perfect to test his flying abilities out for a while.
"I'll need to hurry over to that research lab before it gets late. Don't want to waste this opportunity now."
And with that, he shot into the air, flying west to try and find the Capsule Corp. building before night.
"Hey, this is pretty fun!"

By the time that Nase had reached his destination of the West City, only two things went through his mind: That the view of the West City from above was amazing and that he should have thought of a plan on how to land before coming up so high. While he was contemplating his descent, a scientist in a lab coat and glasses walked outside of the facility while holding a clipboard. They started looking around for a while, and started tapping a pen against their chin for a couple of seconds.
"Why was I even sent out here? There's no one out here yet! It's not like the interns are gonna fall from the sky..."
With a yell as a last-minute warning, Nase crashed onto the sidewalk next to the scientist, scorpioning in the process. After fixing their glasses and clipboard, they took a step back as Nase slowly got up, groaning like a zombie with a hangover.
"Hu... Hey, I'm... here for the internship."
Looking shocked by this display, the scientist quickly started writing things onto the clipboard. After a while, they looked up quickly and faced the now standing Tuffle.
"Um... What's your name?"
"It's... Nase."
"Great!"
The scientist quickly grabbed Nase's arm and pulled him into the building excitedly.
"Thank goodness you got here! I thought I was going to have to wait here all day!"
Being dragged through the facility, Nase had to run to catch up, which is difficult when one of your arms is being pulled by an overactive researcher after you just crashed from your first attempt at flying.
"That's great and all, but why are you pulling so hard?!"
At that point, they both stopped moving once they entered an empty room in the building.
"...And where's everyone else?"
The researcher paused for a moment before answering, as if oblivious to the fact that people wouldn't know what was happening.
"Oh, yeah. There is no 'everyone else'."
"Huh?"
"You're the only intern to come today. Or at all really."
Not wanting to assume the worst, Nase shifted his position and asked the researcher what they meant.
"I'm the only one? That's odd. Did something happen?"
Waving off the idea of something being serious, the researched responded reassuringly.
"No, nothing serious. Just the fact that we've been being attacked with corporate espionage from rival companies 'is all."
...Almost reassuringly.
Before Nase could say anything, the researcher jumped up and ran out of the room, yelling something about forgetting a lab coat or something. Nase tried to stop them to say something, but they were already gone by he went to speak. Feeling dejected, he slumped over and from the corner of his eye, he saw something move towards him. Scowling when he noticed it was a camera, he started to walk around the room, trying to figure out this place's deal. By the time he reached a box that said 'Unused Mecha Parts' the researcher returned. They seemed to be holding an extra lab coat and clipboard.
"Here. I almost forgot about the dress code."
Shoving them into Nase's hands, they seemed almost nonchalant about the fact that he was trying to get their attention.
"H-hey! We can deal with that later. What do you mean 'corporate espionage'? You guys are being attacked by people?!"
I told you already, It's fine. Besides, your job is to tour the facility and note what needs to be changed or replaced. YOu don't even have to worry about it. It should only be us here for a while anyway."
At this point, Nase was getting irritated and it didn't help that the scientist's view seemed to not even reach his anymore.
"Should be? How can you be so aloof that your company's being attacked and there's only two people here to protect it?!"
As quick as lightning, a bright flash entered Nase's view and disappeared behind him. He turned quickly to see it and saw a figure wearing full black fallen on the ground with smoke coming off their head. He turned back and noticed the calm scientist was now holding a laser gun, which they calmly brushed off as if it was a toy that had fallen on the ground.
"Because I'm the only one they had that can protect themself."
Gingerly tilting the gun up to the ceiling, they donned their more cheerful expression again and spoke to Nase once again.
"So, are you ready for your internship?"

Walking around the laboratory, Nase was being led around by the scientist, who was telling him all about the Capsule Corp's different fields and inventions. Looking around, he noticed a door labelled 'Closet' that was slightly ajar, and walked towards it questioningly.
"Hey, what's going on in here?"
Once he had reached the door, it immediately fell open, causing multiple silver-looking skeletons to spill out onto the ground. Looking back at the scientist in confusion, he saw them just shrug and keep going.
"Spare parts I guess."
Not knowing what to do, he ran back to catch up to the scientist as they kept going. The scientist spoke up again when he reached.
"So, I was told to ask you for a specific section you would like to see and write on. Anything you have in mind? Capsule Pods? Hover vehicles?"
They both stopped for a moment while Nase began to think. This place has only been insanity after insanity. How could he pick anything from this place? For all he knew, he'd be walking into another thief encounter. But for some reason, in spite of all of this, he felt in his gut that he had to pick one field. One very specific field.
"I'll pick..."
From behind the corner, a thief with a rifle-esque weapon was hiding out. Stealthily, he had checked the area around him, and with his outdated counter, he sensed the path ahead.
"Heh, only one power signature. It's probably that dumb scientist that took out Tee and those others. Well, she won't get me!"
Jumping out front and center, the spy was ready to yell out something when he was surprised. There were... two people?
"Hey, Lady! Get ready to... huh?"
He lowered his weapon in confusion, giving his targets time to realize he was there. The scientist turned the quickest when and was ready to say something until they saw the weapon in his hands.
"What the... How are there two of you? Is this some kind of trick?! Drop your blaster!"
Seeing the situation taking place, Nase made a move to go and protect the researcher, but the thug raised his slugthrower menacingly, causing him to immediately stop. He then noticed the researcher putting their arm ahead to keep him back and putting the blaster they were holding down. She whispered to him discreetly to keep him still.
"Don't try anything. I can't have you being shot on the job."
Taken aback by this, Nase complies, letting the thief walk closer.
"Good, good. Now you're going to turn around and tell me where the research is kept, or... I could just blow the two of your brains out."
Hesitating for a moment, the scientist Nase was with unwillingly turned around and put her arms up. She looked over to Nase, as if asking him to do the same, but he couldn't bring himself to.
"Hey, Wiseguy! Don't think about being a hero. Just turn around like your friend and get to spilling the information."
At this point, Nase was starting to get upset now. At first, these guys were trying to steal from the facility, but now they were threatening to shoot down people for the things they were stealing. This has been going a bit too far for him. Too far indeed.
Against his employer's wishes, Nase stood forward, much to their fear and the burglar's annoyance.
"Did you not hear me, idiot?! Maybe if I put some lead in your friend, you'll listen!"
Before anyone else could react, the man pulled the trigger on his firearm, launching a shot after the scientist he hated so much. The scientist turned around sharply, waiting to feel the impact, but none came. Instead, she saw Nase in front of her, arms crossed to protect his vitals.
"W-What the?!"
After he lowered his arms, both the thief and the scientist saw the two shells that were fired at Nase fall down, with only small amounts of blood on them. He hadn't completely blocked the gunfire, but they hadn't fully pierced him either. He was still standing after all.
The thief, though he had a long time ago removed his counter, heard it beeping once, Nase took a heavy step forward, his eyes glowing in a slight tint of green.
"Hey... remember how you asked what field I wanted to check out after this..? I've decided."
Throwing off his lab coat, Nase revealed the metal on his neck and lower arm, as well as his toned figure through his pale shirt.
Enraged by this display, the irate thug readied his launcher again and pointed it near his opponent's chest.
"DON'T GET SO COCKY WITH ME, YOU FREAK!"
He fired his gun again, making sure he got a clean strike towards his sternum. Instead of trying to block again, Nase leaned forward and got his feet into a battle-ready position. As he tightened his fist until it hurt, he jumped towards the bullets on instinct, causing something very strange to happen. Multiple pieces of burnt shrapnel fell down from Nase's arm, causing the thief to become confused again. Looking up, Nase noticed a large red blade coming from his wrist and reaching about a foot long.
"What on earth?"
"Androids. I've decided on the android's field."
All of the individuals in the room were surprised at this, including the person who the blade was attached to. The thief dropped his weapon in shock and quickly grabbed what looked like a walkie-talkie.
"Hey, all of you, I need backup here!"
While he was yelling into the mic, Nase's other hand started glowing green until a small veil formed over it. He quickly struck the thief, knocking them over instantly. After this, the blade slowly disappeared on his other arm and Nase's power quickly faded.
"That... hurt"
He fell to his knees in pain, and the scientist quickly rushed up to him after he tried to stand up by himself.
"Ugh... I-It's fine. I'm fine. Don't worry."
They ignored him and helped him up, noticing that not much blood had even come out of him. The scientist then looked once again at his neck and arms, seeing the mechanical aspects to his body.
"You're... you're an android."
"Yeah... How many more do you think there are?"
Suddenly a voice came up from behind the both of them.
"Not many, just a few more."
They both turned quickly, seeing a man in a large white jacket and tie, with hair just as pale as his suit.
"Who are you now?"
The man noticed Nase's aggressive disposition and chuckled lightly.
"Don't worry, young man. I'm a head researcher here. I came to check if any interns had arrived, and surprisingly, you did!"
Once again, Nase was surprised at the strangeness of the people working at Capsule Corp. and at this point, he was done with it.
"We don't have time for this. We need to get rid of those guys!"
The old man chuckled again, this time harder than before.
"No no! It's fine. We can't have our interns getting seriously damaged on the job now, can we? You already got hurt for one of our own!"
Utterly confused at this point, Nase had to ask a very important question.
"Then who's going to stop these guys?"
The man turned around and picked up the scientist's blaster for them. After throwing it to them, the head scientist pulled a small capsule from his coat and turned away from them.
"Don't worry, young man. We have security measures for this very reason."
He tossed the capsule onto the ground and in a puff of smoke, a large pale robot appeared standing taller than 8 feet when it fully activated. It looked like the mix of a car and a porcupine and had large arms that reached the floor.
"You two can get to the end of the tour, we'll handle those roughnecks."
In awe at the head and his robot for a moment, Nase snapped out of it when the researcher he was with spoke from behind him.
"We probably should get going."
She primed her blaster and walked next to Nase, who was rubbing his wrist, trying to see what caused the blade to appear.
"Come on, your internship isn't over yet, is it?"
Smirking from the comment, Nase turned to the researcher and quipped, "I guess not."
And with that, they began running again, going to the furthest part of the facility to find the robotics field. The thug that Nase previously had beaten had called for help earlier, all of which came rushing in the same way the researcher and Nase were going. They both were stopped when 3 different thieves showed up at once.
"Freeze!"
Nase looked over at the scientist and started to glow a faint green.
"Hey. How much collateral am I allowed to break?"
Their gun started to glow blue as they held it with both hands.
"Just try not to damage anything important."
They both charged towards the group of burglars, laser gun and ki blades at the ready. As they dashed in, there was a glimmer of excitement in Nase's eyes going in. Maybe there wasn't such a difference between him and Saiyans after all.
"Let's DO THIS!"

Sweating from the exercise, both Nase and the scientist began panting, doubled over.
"How... many...guys did we just fight?"
"Huh... At least, 5... I think. It should be just in this room."
Slowly stumbling into the room, the scientist waved Nase over, who sluggishly followed behind. The researcher closed the door behind them, and slumped down onto the floor after turning on the lights.
"Phew. Welp, here we are. We don't have much here, but... this is what you wanted to see, right?"
Nodding as he wiped the sweat off his forehead, Nase stood up and gave his employer thumbs up.
"Yeah... Thanks."
He looked around the room for a while, trying to find something that he wasn't sure of yet. After the scientist noticed his near-aimless walking, they spoke up, wincing as they did so.
"Do you... know what you're looking for?"
By that point, they stood up as well, walking towards the Tuffle who answered her without turning his head.
"Not... entirely. I sort of... felt a need to check this place out. I guess it was to find out what happened to me."
While he spoke, his voice started to sound more hoarse and guttural, and he rubbed the back of his neck, instinctively covering the metal that was sticking out. The researcher noticed this and paused a second before speaking.
"You're looking for something similar to what happened to you? I think we may have something that can you help."
"Really?"
She walked past him towards a tall shelf, signalling him to guard the door as she did so. Understanding the message, he leaned against the door to guard it, his ear pressed to the side of it. While he was waiting, he heard what sounded like the faint sound of metal crashing into things and people yelling with slashing sounds accompanying them.
"(Was that the head's robot causing that?)"
Nase reminded himself to never get on the bad side of this company.
"Here. This should help you."
The researcher handed him a cardboard large box with a strange collection of papers and scrap inside of it. Nase confused at this, took it from them and asked the researcher what it was for. She responded by saying that the box contained strange technology that some researchers had discovered in an abandoned facility in the southern islands that was assumed to be some type of testing lab. They collected what they could find, but most of it was already destroyed when they arrived. The scientist then said that after seeing him fight, they thought that it might've been something similar. After hearing this, Nase started to shuffle through the box, and got stuck at these... strange blueprints. The pictures on them were crudely drawn, and the actual text was written vaguely, as if the creator themself didn't know what they were making.
"What are all of these then?"
The researcher looked over and saw what he was talking about.
"Those were the small number of machines that seemed to be mostly intact. We attempted to reverse engineer the technology, but we have only gotten this far as of now."
As the scientist spoke, Nase began flipping through different sheets, trying to find something he could understand. That was, until he saw the the machine.
It was a crude recreation, but looking at design and size, the blueprints he was holding were of the machine that turned him into an 'Android'. Immediately, flashbacks of Nase's father filled his mind, causing slow trickling of saltwater to start on his face. Immediately blinking it away, Nase put the rest of the box onto the ground with one hand, holding the paper with his other.
"Are you okay?"
He wiped his face and returned to his stoic disposition, trying to cover up what just happened. However, his voice didn't follow suit.
"I-I'm fine. I... just remembered something terrible. This is what I was looking for."
Taking a moment to collect himself, he continued again, handing the blueprint back, pinching the bridge of his nose while doing so.
"I don't suppose I could take this from you guys?"
The researcher thought for a moment, but then mournfully shook her head 'no'.
"I'm afraid not. Sorry."
"I thought not. It's alright."
Looking up to avoid tearing up again, he pushed the hair in front of his face back, pausing for a moment.
"W-wait. How do you know of this device? Is it why you are part robotic? Where was it?"
Nase peered back down towards the scientist as they asked him questions, and he then realized that if he answered too closely, the scientists would probably go digging into his old house's remains to look for it. Or worse, have him go in there. Since he knew that he wasn't ready for either of those to happen yet, he planned to withhold some information on where it was.
"The device... was what did this to me, yes. It changed me into... 'this' after my... father activated it. We were in the Northern Plains when it happened. It was in an underground bunker that I didn't know about. I fell asleep during the process, so I don't know that much about it."
The researcher nodded sagely and thanked Nase after he finished. The scientist took up the crate to put it back away when a knock came from the metal door behind them. They both turned in fear and anticipation, but quickly calmed down when it was revealed to be the head of the facility.
"Phew."
...
"So... Though it may have been taken up by some... less than savoury individuals..."
As the old head spoke on, his robot walked up behind him, with unconscious people tied up in a rope behind it. Nase still was surprised that a robot that could be made, but was happy it was at least it was on his side.
"...Your internship here has come to an end. Thank you for your participation with our research, and I hope you can find new work in the future."
"Though we normally do not pay our interns doing this, we couldn't allow ourselves to let you go after all the help you gave us emptyhanded."
The scientist then walked up towards Nase and handed him a wad of cash, that caused Nase's face to light up in surprise.
"uh... Wow. Thanks!"
"It's there least we can do. Good Luck with your research!"
After putting his jacket back on, he gave a thumbs up and walked off.
"Thanks again!"
He then went into a crouched position before shooting up into the air, both of his hands in the pockets of his jacket. Quickly, he became a green streak in the sky, flying around the air.
"They found it in the Southern Isles... I should probably investigate that sooner or later. They should have answers for what's going on here. Probably not right now tho, I still need to get stronger before I can just rush into things."
Hearing a gurgling noise from his stomach, he patted it gently, trying to avoid his bullet wounds.
"Ugh, probably going to need food and rest too. Why didn't I get more food at that shop?!"
Upset at his forgetfulness, Nase continued off towards the horizon, just high enough that people wouldn't notice him.
