To her surprise Achido took a head start in the race, Ty had no trouble catching up to him, and Konja trailed behind by asking Jack to participate. Well, it was by chance that the raven haired saiyan woman fell behind, and she could not pass up Achido despite being five inches taller than the blonde human. With the cargo securely held, she was surprised by the sound makers of the saiyan children on the island, she dropped it and watched it plummet towards the sea. In a panic she used all of her ki to catch the shipping container in mid-air, struggling a bit when she finally did, and found it difficult compared to simply picking it up from the deck of the carrier ship. It was a matter of balance of being able to get a good grip, and her only option to prevent it from slipping was to grip firmly to the point of her fingerless gloved hands compressing the metal with her fingertips to be molded around her hands. There was still a race to finish and she continued the flight path directly behind Achido until he finally landed at their location.
“I was so close!” Ty pouted as she landed slowly by positioning the metal shipping container down in the clear open area Cayle instructed. “ I could have won, if it wasn’t for those meddling kids! I think they got Konja pretty good, she must have a soft side for them to be startled that much, hehe.”
In a matter of seconds Achido took off again to get another container and Ty followed after him. It seemed everyone was focused on unloading the ship first, and in a matter of minutes they did, with only four metal shipping containers filled with Capsule Corp designed DynoCapsules. Achido waited this time before starting the final race with the remaining containers.
“Hey Achido, are you and Konja dating?” Ty stared blankly at him, “I saw the two of you before leaving the Pilaf Land shipyard and you kissed her.”
While they were best friends, they both seemed to lack telling each other of their relationships with the people in their lives, because it was not a subject that came up often. Between training, having fun activities, and going on missions with Cayle there was hardly any time to talk about personal subjects. It was an awkward situation to be so up front about it but she had a reason to ask, she was in a relationship with Cayle after all, spending nearly a year together, and she was curious.
As Konja caught up to them, she turned to face her with a wide mischievous smile, forgetting about what Cayle said about checking out a bunker after they finished.
“Konja, after we’re done with everything, and race for the last time, would you like to go on a double date? Cayle has not been to one before and it will be fun if we had one before building our new home island.”

Perhaps it wasn't such a good idea to call Jack up for the race, but Konja would have liked to see how his training was coming along. As a result, she was completely left "sucking on their fumes" as she once heard in a movie about racing. Albeit with cars on the ground, rather than the flying varieties. It was very clearly an Earthling expression. Nevertheless, the farmer turned fast food cashier picked up her container and tried her best to catch up, focused so far ahead that her vision began to tunnel. This was a mistake that left her wide open. As she passed along the ruins of a building that was particularly tall enough to fly by, a sudden blast of sound threw her far off kilter. To that point where she realigned her container into a giant bat with which to swat the building down. After all, Cayle had warned them that there was a bunker here. For all she knew, this was a new Tuffle attack that made use of sound somehow. Such a thing was not above them, considering all the other things they were capable of doing. Like that one time she was sent to scout out a Saiyan city under one of King Vegeta's prospective allies, see if he was open to meeting with them. It was truly far, even if she flew all day, and by the time she saw it in the distance, the sun had already gone down. Before she could approach, however, she was overtaken by a pair of Tuffle planes, which either didn't notice her, or were focused instead on what they were doing next... The planes dropped... something. A blinking red dot. Into the centre of the city. A few moments later, a pillar of light fell from an unusually bright star, and consumed the city in a blinding flash. By the time she arrived, there was nothing but a smoking crater. Yes, if the Tuffles could call down fire from the stars themselves, then surely weaponising sound was child's play. Konja grunted as the container shifted weight from her back to her hands, and it wasn't until she had wound up for a home run swing that she saw it was instead a child tooting on a horn - his tail giving his pickled nature away - that she stopped herself. He was oblivious to what had almost happened, as he continued to blast that sound into the air. She sighed in a mixture of anxiety and relief. It wasn't a Tuffle. But she had almost crushed him. The cashier placed the container back on her shoulders and continued on her way. Others kept blasting, likely a test by Cayle of some sort given its coordination, but by now, the surprise had completely worn off. What wasn't a surprise - worn off or otherwise - was that this 'ambush' had put her far behind the others. It had also brought back some of her darker memories. The Tuffles rarely fought fair or on even ground. Traps, ambushes, sudden annihilation strikes... Perhaps because they were so fragile. That boy probably would have survived getting crushed by a container and falling rubble. Scraped up bad, but his Zenkai would be better for it. A Tuffle would have been killed instantly. Nevertheless, as she made her way down to the warehouse where Achido and Ty were talking, she tried to fix her mood. The bunker wasn't exactly confirmed to be occupied, and they should be ready, yes. But at the same time, it felt... wrong... to cast her worries on her new friends. Konja landed, and was met with a grinning Ty, who invited her - and Cayle presumably, given her mention of him - to go on something called a 'double date'. What she had learned about the word 'date', was that it was a term for the number of the day. Much like the ten day Saiyan week, which led into lunar months, Earthlings also paid attention to days. In particular, a date was what organised people marked on a sheet of paper called a calendar - ever so prominently displayed in the employees only area of the Taco King. So then presumably, a 'double date' was... "Is marking a calendar twice more fun than riding bikes on that racing island?" This must have been another one of those strange Earth customs she had yet to be introduced to. In retrospect, she'd overheard some of her co-workers discuss 'dates' as well. She had just shaken it off as the activity of marking calendars - which made sense, as the calendars would get filled up with dates as the days went by... But she still wondered why Earthlings treated such a thing as a big deal. "I guess I can join you to learn more about its importance to Earth culture..."805/2494 Achido Ty Cayle Pota Jack Pota

Cayle Pota, son of Pota Potaset, himself son of Potaset Pota, long in his line, was a Saiyan man of exceeding cleverness. This did not mean he was infallible, or that he was omnipresent, and he never intended to imply that was the case. Thus was the reason he had no idea that Jack Aspic, called Jack Pota, was having doubts. Thus was the reason he could not have foresaw his comrade and childhood friend Konja having a moment of Post Traumatic Stress and nearing hammering one of the Saiyan orphans they had recovered from the Pilaf Land Bunker into the ground. He grimaced for a split second but then didn't let his worry show. It would slow and worry others, and the entire fledgling kingdom of Saiyans needed upmost confidence in the endeavor if it was to succeed. So the Saiyan would-be warlord began throwing candies, the promised treats for the Saiyan orphans, to summon them forward and so he began to listen to what was going on as Konja and Tiger Lily both continued the race and spoke to one another. As much as he would have liked to pipe in a bit into the conversation and explain to Konja that to the Earthlings a Date was both a time based noun as set to the Calendar and a transitive verb, but he did not. Instead, he waited for the three to finish up their crates and return, because if he left the impromptu command center too early people would be looking for him and be unable to contact him; and he hadn't seen to the island's phone lines, radio signals, or the defunct radio station and radio tower that was on the island; those were things he would see to after the basics were unloaded and the Tuffle Bunker was likely found. It was a matter of keeping the fledgling pickle nation alive. [316] [2070]

With Ty questioning Achido, wondering if he was dating Konja, he just looked over to the saiyan woman with a slight red tint forming over his cheeks. He was unsure how to answer because Konja was not human and her traditions were much different than those from planet Earth. The blonde man had no clue how she felt about him, so he looked back to see Konja swooping in before answering. "I'm not sure?" He paused, looking back to the raven haired saiyan woman. "What do you think, Konja?" he asked curiously, wondering how she felt upon the subject.
Achido was not good with speaking to women one bit. In fact, he felt shy around Konja, only because of how little they knew of one another. This didn't change how he felt about her, but it just kept him from opening up completely around her. That would likely change with time, causing them to form a bond like Cayle and Ty have. It was something the human would look forward to in the future, but as for now the group had a mission to do, and that was to see who could get the remaining containers back to the warehouse the fastest.
The containers were still stacked up and ready for them to continue, so Achido did just that. He ran over to one of the remaining containers, lifted it up and threw it onto his back. "Come on, let's not get distracted. There is still so much for us to do here." He called out to Ty and Konja, while holding the container to his back tightly so it wouldn't fall off while flying to the warehouse. The teenager began to run off, then jumped to the sky, and flew off toward the set location once more.

Tiger Lily giggled on the idea of marking a calendar twice and having a motorcycle race was something people did on a date, based on Achido’s reaction he still knew what she meant, and yet Konja was unfamiliar with the concept.
“Well, here on earth, two people who feel strongly for one another go on a date to determine if they want to be together forever. In truth, you really don’t know a person or a friend well enough unless you try doing something to confirm your feelings for each other. It is like doing things a married couple would typically do without the commitment of marriage. Some people date around but never officially become a boyfriend or girlfriend after a first date and move on to someone else. It’s a way of sampling the relationship after spending the day or evening and making a decision based on the experience.” The more Ty explained, the redder her face became, she felt that her parents or uncle were better at describing the details, and this was the first time she attempted finding the words to describe the prerequisite of being a couple.
“My first experience is with Cayle, he makes me happy even if he ki-kissed me on accident when we first met.” There was a dead silence after that, “...and Achido...then Jack...”
Konja was the only one spared from Ty’s affinity for incidental kissing, “I am Cayle’s girlfriend because my feelings are strongest for him and our experiences together will define our relationship over time.”
Ty cleared her throat, “There is also the matter of finding out what you find attractive. Whether it is a male, female, or something else entirely. Earth has several races and hybrids but there isn’t enough time in a lifetime to be dating around just to make those discoveries. So, there is a chance Achido is right for you, you won’t know unless you go on a date first.”
Achido was quick to remind them that they were being distracted by the subject. “Ah right. I was just curious. One last race.”
Tiger Lily rushed over to pick up one of the shipping containers and lifted it over her head then took flight upwards. Once everyone was lined up on an invisible line they took off, perhaps the saiyan children would attempt to distract them again, so Ty kept an eye out for any sudden surprises as a precaution. Konja landed back on the ship and gave her arms a good stretching as she listened to Ty explain the actual details of dating, or at least, this particular context thereof. It wasn't at all what she expected, and she wondered briefly how Earthlings could come up with so many ambiguous words that required proper context. Well... that was the thing about words, wasn't it? More often than not, they depended on each other to create meaning in a message. Oddly enough, Ty's face grew redder as she carried on with the explanation. Was it an embarrassment to teach this subject? Dating in this sense was part of the Earthling rituals of courtship. Not that she would be able to compare it to courtship on Planet Plant, or anything. After all, her father never taught her about such things, outside the general ideas of mating. She was at least aware of parents, mates, and the responsibility to continue the Clan by passing on its blood. The specifics, not so much. Moreover, the Earthling standard seemed to be more about strong feelings, rather than proliferation. Curious. But as to the implications of the matter. It sounded like a very big decision, a lifetime partnership, matehood, or as Ty put it, "marriage", was at stake for this practise. It made sense to do so and be very careful with one's choices. The farmer turned fast food cashier, however, suddenly found a knot forming in her stomach. It was hard enough to go out of her way to get to know people. But it was beginning to dawn on her that if she wanted to pass on her Clan's blood to a new generation, well, this was how they did it on Earth. And since she had yet to find any of her kinsmen in the bunkers raided so far... she may very well have been the last child of Clan Korm. To pass on her Clan's blood was now her greatest responsibility. Otherwise, her ancestors might start haunting her... Not an entertaining prospect. And so, despite being a great challenge, there was only one possible response. "I see. Thank you for explaining this courting ritual. Then, I agree to this double date you suggest." Konja turned to Achido and smiled just a bit. The genuine sort that squeezed the eyes, but subtle as her tendencies. "I don't have a lot of friends, so I can't imagine dating anybody else, in any case."The idea of apparently meeting with a stranger, or even an "acquaintance", as Earthlings put it, to see if she might want to spend the rest of her life in his company and bare his children, was simply horrifying. If she had to choose a mate, at least let it be somebody she cared enough about, somebody she deemed worthy enough, to mix his blood with her own to continue the Clan. She finished her stretching and picked up the next container. "Though I have to ask... what is this kissing thing you spoke of? Is it another dating ritual?" And just like that, they were off. s564cFL41d100517/3011 Ty Achido Jack Pota Cayle Pota1d100

By the time the trio were finished with their race with one another, Cayle was busy once again with the physical embodiment of leadership. He was giving instructions on what to do next and he was explaining how he wanted to do things. All told, there were 177 Saiyans that they had saved of various ages and capabilities from the three Tuffle Bunkers which they had raided up until this point. It was a number that he knew by heart, and had written in his personal journal numerous times to remind himself that they were making progress.
177 Saiyans was more than his home village and Konja's combined. It was a number that represented a moderately sized town of Saiyans, and yet here he was to be more than a simple town councilor. He was to be their Prince. Their sovereign, judge, and guide.
So as Achido, Tiger Lily, and Konja finished up their race he explained to them and the volunteers who had come to help set up Ensalada Island's initial settlement, how it was to be done. Some of the domiciles were fit to be simply retrofitted with solar panels, new plumbing, electric batteries and checks of their gas or propane lines. Others were so harmed or so long abandoned, having not been occupied even when Carlos Alfonso grew up here, that they would need to be tore down.
In normal situations, a person would need demolition equipment for that. Here, they had the gods given power of Saiyan muscle. With the more astute and longest standing members of the fledgling Kingdom of Saiyans assigned to work with the newer members as guides, Cayle provided a list and a map of which buildings were to be marked by Nalta and the other children, which buildings were to be tore down, and for the group to listen carefully for loud speakers telling them when Lunch was prepared. He made it very clear that some buildings weren't to be torn down, and explained after the buildings that were torn down were properly removed from their places, new foundations would be laid and using the capsules that they had brought new domiciles, apartment blocks, factories, and warehouses would built.
Cayle had set things up these way and made sure that the more Earth adjusted Saiyans were paired with the recently freed Saiyans who had decided to stay on with him and the others. Carlos Alfonso and he had both paid experts and taken volunteers to help set up things like the electric systems, the redundancy batteries, the internet on the island, the radio and local television set antennas, RADAR dishes, cellular service, and water purification and desalination plants. Cayle had a goal of the island being a fortress for the Saiyans around the world to be able to rely upon without having to worry about one of the Tuffle organizations playing a surprise 'visit'.
Three bunkers busted, many more to check. He tried not to worry about the fact that he still hadn't found any of his family or extended family or clan mates in any of the bunkers they had raided. How many had died at the hands of the Tuffles? Would he ever find his siblings?
By the time the others got back, he had finished giving instructions.

With the trio finishing up the race, Achido no longer cared who won because he was genuinely having fun with his friends. He landed next to Cayle, barely breaking a sweat from the short races they endured. The saiyan was explaining to them how he wanted the settlement to be, and Achido was more than happy to help out a good friend and mentor.
As Konja and Ty settled in next to him and Cayle, he couldn't help but to remember the last question Konja had asked before they all flew off. He was nervous and didn't know how to describe the answer, so he simply used both hands to pull the raven haired saiyan into a kiss. His cheeks turned red in an instant, blushing from the feelings currently rushing through his stomach.
Achido was now unaware if Cayle was still explaining things, as it felt that both Tiger Lily and Cayle had vanished. He didn't even realise that he was still kissing the saiyan woman, but it was all blurred into a memory, as he pulled away, eyes closed, and cheeks still redder than ever. "T-that is a kiss, Konja." He looked to her eyes nervously, while then noticing Ty and Cayle there. The teenager was embarrassed of what he had done, but he didn't really know how to explain it, so he just showed her what it was.
Once the sound of Cayle's voice dissipated, Achido stood next to him, looking up to his mentor with a shy smile on his face. "When we are finished settling in, what is next? As for the Tuffles, do any of you know what they look like?" He asked curiously, wondering if he had encountered one in the past or not. Even if he did, it's not like the blonde teen had met anyone evil, so that was most likely out of the question.

Tiger Lily finished first in the race, Cayle was standing by waiting for them at the site, she stacked the shipping container on top of the pile, and watched Achido catch up in the distance followed by Konja. The red headed half saiyan turned to her boyfriend to give him a hug and look him in the eyes. It had been quite some time since they first met, after spending time in Pilaf Land Ty had grown two inches reaching the six feet to nearly catch up to the icy blue eyed saiyan.
“I finally won a race! Did you see that Cayle?” She grinned as she turned around to face the others.
It was at that moment that Achido kissed Konja, it was different from watching her parents, or a pair of strangers. Ty was equally blushing as much Achido had been but Konja looked the same from this distance. It was not CPR in the Taco King videos, it had meaning, and it was intimate. Saving a life was also something that was intimate but it was not the same. Perhaps the raven haired saiyan woman would know the difference after the experience.
Achido carried on as his usual self, maybe he was used to kissing by now, as he changed the situation to ask about Tuffles. Tiger Lily reflected the times the word was used in her adventures, each time Cayle or Konja were present. With a sigh she began to explain what she knew.
“I haven’t really...met a Tuffle. Not on a personal level. Just in passing. The first being Captain Jewel of the southern islands, the second being Nase during the flying carrot incident at Marshmellow summit--but you left to check on your raptor egg before these crazy people in bunny ears started attacking us, Achi!” Ty puffed her cheek in frustration for a second and then thought some more. “I went to an illegal underground fighting tournament with my dad on an island near Papaya Island. At the finale, Team Citrus was up against the West City Women’s world champion Clove Tea and a cat named Will O’ Wisp. The team of tuffles consisted of a blue haired tough guy named Tangelo, the other guy had green hair but was super fast named Narin, and a pink haired girl named Nova. To me, they all looked human, but I noticed they all have fruit names?”
Ocean blue eyes looked around for assurance on that theory then continued her story on the fighting tournament. “Team Citrus...they stole all the money at the bookies of all the bets that were placed on the winner of the finale. I think there is a bounty on all these people except for Nase, he seems alright, and I think he had no idea he was a tuffle even if Cayle called him out for it.” [474] [2,528]

The race was over, and Ty took the victor's tusk. It was a good race, and Konja had no regrets, even if she ended up last. She set the last container up on the stack and landed to rejoin the group. Aside from this dating thing that had just been explained to her, though, the only thing on her mind was to get better. Perhaps she had spent too much spare time farming rather than training. With the technology of this planet, there now existed an intricate system of trade and commerce that allowed farmers from the other end of the world to have their produce in your refrigerator in a matter of days. And with the Taco King's resources, she didn't need to farm. Cayle certainly wasn't farming. He was spending all of his free time anywhere between training, planning for the battles ahead, and occasionally celebrating life with his friends and Ty. She was not familiar with the duties of "Vice President", but it seemed that he spent more time in his office... perhaps like a general, directing the movements of the army from a much higher vantage point. Only instead of soldiers, his enemies were competing businesses, and instead of capturing land, they would win by capturing stomachs. Likely, this also gave him experience as King of Pickles. If this were so, then it was interesting to see that the skills of a trader could somehow overlap with the skills of a king... although it made sense. Both, at the very least, had to know how to negotiate, whether with a customer or a foreign leader. So if Konja could set aside reviving her family farm for until after the end of the war... then surely, she would have much more time to train and grow stronger. That was when Achido's hands reached up from below, caught her by the shoulders, and pulled her face down to his. Was this CPR? She didn't need any extra air. It wasn't even necessary even if a person was panting - which she was not. So then why was he giving her CPR? Her eyes widened in surprise as the tongue entered her mouth, and... seemed to be attempting to dance with her own. It brought back images of couples she saw back at her village, who would train their tails by entwining them together in a sophisticated dance. Her father never really told her anything about that, only that there would be time when she got older. Perhaps Konja was wrong about it being training? She certainly saw no value in honing one's tongue, especially at this late stage. It was certainly good for speaking, eating, and wiping stray food from around her mouth, but dancing...? One thing was for certain, though. She felt the strangest urge to reciprocate Achido's tongue's invitation. Not to mention a strange heat from somewhere inside her. She was still pondering this when her friend backed away and explained that that was a kiss. "... Ah." Her cheeks still flushed, she scratched the back of her head. "I see. I was completely unprepared. Maybe next time, my tongue will be ready to dance as well... What was it they say in movies again...? It takes two to tongue-go?"Achido then asked about Tuffles, and Ty related her experiences with them. From that heinous fake Pirate Captain, to some characters who disgraced a tournament. Yes, it was illegal, as she said, but the least they could have done was honour its internal rules. No, apparently, they couldn't even do that... "Ty is correct. They look more or less like Saiyans and Humans. Although some might be quite a bit shorter. What I can tell you though, is, much like Ty's observation that they name themselves after Earth fruits... they also give off a sweet, fruity scent. Never quite the same for each one, but you'll know it when you sniff it. And as you saw back in Pilaf Land, their technology is monstrous."She shook her head. "It'll take a while to learn all the knowledge that we picked up from their computer storage." Not that she was in a hurry to do so, given that her reading and comprehension was limited to items on a menu, the value of zeni, and key TV words like "News", and "Exploration Channel". But no doubt, Cayle and Jack would have it figured out in short order. "But I'm sure we'll be able to put it to more productive use than they did."753/3764 Ty Achido Cayle Pota

The “Taco King” Carlos Alfonso's wife Reyna was a major fan of musical theater and through her fondness of musical theater, and his own friendship with Carlos Alfonso and Reyna, he knew of a theatrical song of 'The Very Picture of the Modern Major-General', from the play 'Prince Vegeta', as sung by the character in the play, 'General Nappa'. He knew of it both because Carlos Alfonso liked the play, Cayle had watched it with them at the flagship restaurant after finding out it was an adaption of one of the Vegeta's stories, and because he knew that it was his ring tone upon both Reyna and Carlos Alfonso De La Reyes' phones.
While it was meant to be a little humorous in the matter it was displayed in the play – imagine needing to know how to slice a Pineapple with your bare hands, how many legs a crawfish had, or the reason why a semi-trailer was the correct term for a multi-wheeled cargo truck with a trailer, but none the less Cayle did see the logic in it. Every thing you knew was another thing you could use against one's enemies, and as such Cayle was trying to make himself the very picture of a modern Saiyan Sovereign.
When he had given orders to the others about, his eyes were watching Tiger Lily, Achido, and Konja's race and the finish of it. With a smirk of pride that was momentarily there and then gone, he noticed how Ty beat the others out in the race. With flared nostrils of shock and an equal smirk of pride, he caught Achido stealing a kiss from Konja and that whole passage of action, but he had his expression neutralized by the time the others had actually got back to him.
He grinned again when Tiger Lily asked him if he saw her, nodding. “I did, and while part of me thought it would be you, I wasn't sure. Achido and Konja have both been training hard.”
When Achido asked him the questions about Tuffles, Ty and Konja both answered before he could, and suddenly Nalta and the other children of the Island of New Sadala showed up as well, each with hastily sketched with crayon pictures of various monsters, mech suits, and people in contamination suits or otherwise hidden away. One even showed a picture that made Cayle actually stop for a second, just because of the intensity of the crayon sketched eyes, and the other wise mundanity. It took every bit of self control he had to not blurt out angrily, “Dr Aspic.” but his eyes flicked to the child and then the Saiyan straightened his posture.
“Yeah, to put it simply. They look like humans or saiyans with no tails, but typically have a fruity scent and fruit derived names. They've almost always got bright colored hair, with blacks and browns very very rare, and their eyes very very often match their hair colors.” He cracked his knuckles, before adding, “And you remember in the ki sensing training we were doing? A lot of them have a slightly off way of carrying their ki, and it doesn't feel right. Kind of like how a person looks when they've got ill-begotten money which they didn't exactly earn.”

After the kiss, Konja seemed a bit flushed. When she spoke up about some movie she was trying to reference, Achido let out a slight chuckle. "I believe it's something like that!" He replied, placing his arm on the shoulder of Konja and leaning slightly against her, with a small smile forming and eyes on Cayle and Ty.
Achido was still a bit nervous from the kiss, causing the teen to glance over at the raven haired saiyan a few times, while trying to keep his focus on what the others were telling him about the Tuffles. He was a bit surprised to find out the Nase was a Tuffle, but with everything that was said, it began to make sense the more he thought about it. "Does this mean I can't be friends with Nase?" He asked, looking to Cayle and Ty, hoping that this wouldn't change anything between him and Nase.
When Cayle mentioned their ki sensing training, he nodded slowly before speaking up. "Not right? I don't really use my ability to sense ki unless I am about to fight." He paused for a moment and looked back and forth between Cayle and Ty. "Speaking of which, when can we get some physical training done? I am the weakest one here and I'm not too sure I like that very much." He admitted to the group.
Achido hated the fact that he was always so weak, especially since he had spent a good chunk of his life training in a dojo with his father and some kids from his school. Maybe he wasn't meant to fight, maybe Achi was the one who was always there for Mortal support. This was something that crossed his mind a lot, which is what made him bring it up. Either way, he wanted to be stronger and the motivation was there, he just needed the right push..

“It’s two to tango!” Ty chimed in to correct both Konja and Achido who were more concerned with their tongues dancing than the movie trope itself based on the bright tint on their faces. As teenagers they had their own discoveries to make in life. Tiger Lily noticed Cayle freezing up when looking at a particular drawing by the saiyan children, it seemed he recognized something from the past, and he remained calm regardless of how stark the past had been for the saiyans who survived Tuffle experimentation. There was light in all the darkness, her boyfriend was the type of person to find it anywhere, even if he had to use the might of his saiyan blood coursing through his veins to ensure the future of the orphans who were removed from their families in Planet Plant. Of course, being bound on earth it was uncertain what had become of their home planet, as space travel had been limited unless they managed to make a new carrot spaceship to get them there. Achido asked if he was still allowed to be friends with Nase who was a tuffle, Cayle recognized the android by his scent alone, and it created an awkwardness between them when it was time to work together to stop the carrot invasion of Mt. Marshmallow in Pilaf Land. It seemed the blonde teen was quite familiar with the android to call him a friend. “It’s different Achido!” The red headed teen implored, “It’s not like Nase is experimenting on saiyans so...of course you can still be friends…”The only problem with her statement figuring out if it was true or not, whether Nase harbored hate for saiyans, and if he was hiding the truth from his friends. “Do you think he would tell you the truth, as a friend? That he plans to continue doing experiments on us? That’s the reason my father had my tail removed, so that I looked like an ordinary human, he was trying to keep me safe from being targeted. So let’s keep training and do our best!”The subject of training resumed but Tiger Lily was feeling rather ominous about the subject of Tuffles. A premonition that she would meet Nase again someday and discover the truth in the future. [381] [2,909] Konja of Clan Korm Achido Cayle Pota

Ty was quick to correct the confusion on the line, though given Konja's limited Earth vocabulary, she didn't quite understand what that meant precisely. That line was one thing in movies, but those characters apparently understood it as a cultural matter, rather than demonstrating it directly. It was idiomatic every time it cropped up on TV. So one would have to forgive her for such an ignorant follow-up. "But what is a tango?"Everyone pitched in on the matter of Tuffles. Even the children. Bits and pieces that overlapped in places and once assembled, formed a complete picture. Cayle's note on their wrong-feeling ki was something relatively new compared to Konja's experiences in the war - where they had no such power. But the bunker's empowered inhabitants did give off this strange wrongness... She would have to look out for those sorts from now on. The children really knew how to draw. What bothered Konja was that they knew what to draw in the first place when Achido asked about the Tuffles. Stolen childhoods replaced by exposure to these monsters, war machines, cold researchers, and weapons born from the Tuffle mind. Cayle apparently saw something worse among these images, though in her own ignorance she couldn't quite figure. Perhaps if someone had drawn a picture of Colonel Weetsop, then the shoe would be on the other food (although Cayle would no doubt easily figure out her problem). But as it stood, a mundane Tuffle scientist seemed no sort of intimidating at all compared to the more immediate horrors they stood against. Children should be learning to farm and hunt, play and fight, taste their first scars and zenkai out in the freedom of the world. Slay their first giant roab for the village to celebrate as they feasted on its succulent meat. Lose their first inter-clan tournament and then come back stronger in the following years! The hard but meaningful and enjoyable life of a free Saiyan. Konja had tasted some of that life. Maybe not all of it like her father or the elders. But the children looked far too young to have truly remembered any of such times. Which was part of why they were doing their best to build anew here on this island... Achido posed a question, though, about his having become friends with a Tuffle. Again, there were answers made, Ty having... a rather interesting response. "It wasn't always that way." She'd been too caught up in her own training and community to care before the war. But travelers, in particular, had told tales of having made good business associates with Tuffle communities along the borders of the badlands and the fertile regions of Planet Plant. Of their children playing with each other. "I'd heard stories of Tuffles and Saiyans getting along... but that was before the war. Maybe they just did that to lower our guard." It was easy to write it off now as perhaps a clever deception. And giving Achido hope that maybe things would get better was cruel. Best curb his expectations and spare him the disappointment. "After the war started, all the ones I'd ever met only treated me like an animal. Never spoke with me... just talked down to."She cracked her knuckles. "And if the ones in the bunker were the average Tuffle, then the war hasn't ended for them either." Just as quickly, she bared her teeth for a big grin. "So let's train hard together, Achido! Yamoshi knows we both need it. You to get stronger, and me to get back in shape for the war![599/4363] Achido Cayle Pota Ty

Cayle was silent for a moment as the picture drawn called upon an cascades of images through the Saiyan Princeling's head as he recalled his own time in the 'care' of the Tuffle Science Executive, and at the hands of both Doctor Rebiri and this man... Dr. Aspic himself. Had he been able to see outside of himself and notice the lack of response from Konja, he would not have been surprised per say, it was not as if many had been forced to deal with the Executive himself of the TSE. He came back to his senses, and back to now, just in time to register Achido's response and questions. He listened to them, and while he took his breath, the others responded. Tiger Lily answering with the still arcane earthling phrase it takes two to tango – which seemed strange because it was a style which could have others on the dance floor too. After a moment to steal himself, he took a deeper breath. “No, you're welcome to be friends with Nase, if you think you can trust him. Not all Tuffles are evil anymore than all Saiyans or humans are, but as a cultural trait they've become pretty secretive after all these years, so be cautious.” To the other comments, he nodded. “Yes, there used to be quite a bit of friendships and interchange between Tuffles and Saiyans in our era, before the war broke out in full. I had even heard tales of hybrids being born.” Then gave a nod to Achido, “The important thing is just to be cautious, and to train. Even outside of the Tuffles the Earth has plenty of threats on it, so for yourself and those who you love, it's important to get as strong as you can, at least in my opinion. So if you want to, we can begin training immediately. But it'll be not a style you're used to. A style of my own invention, mixing Saiyan methods and human ones, I call it the Cadejo Style. It won't be easy, Achido, but then again I've never met a human more like a Saiyan in spirit, so you can handle it.” But then he turned, “Nalta, give me that picture you had. I need to show it to the others for a moment, so they can know what the biggest threat to us all is.” He had figured out who it was, and why he had felt so naturally attached to Nalta, at least in some ways. One of the hybrids he mentioned was the child of Dr. Aspic and Cayle's own maternal aunt, and looked very much like Nalta before a Saiyan Elite happened upon this 'weakening of the blood' and killed her in front of his aunt. It was something he had never mentioned to anyone. Perhaps he never would. But it was something he knew and it didn't make the Doctor's fixation on testing Cayle feel any better; it was the source of his own fears about his siblings being lost, tortured, or worst by the TSE even now. Nalta, while hesitant, handed him the crayon picture, which he showed to Tiger Lily, Konja, and Achido. “But most of us when it comes to dangerous Tuffles, it's him. This is a picture of Dr. Aspic...” [553] [3709]
