At-Will Action 1:
Companion Intercept. On Strike #2.
Bonus Action 1: Guard +10 DR.
18 DR/2 (from hidden Weapon) = 9 DR.
45-9 = 36 Damage taken. 2 HP remaining on Zaru, 3 HP remaining on Lili.
Sometimes it is good to have friends. As the series of ruthless strikes from the Prime universe's incarnation of Zaru came forward, this was clearly shown. As the first strike came down on the leather jacketed, mohawk wearing Zaru from the apocalyptic universe where spiritually empowered, thinking, undead rampaged through the world, it struck him while he was rolling out of the way. As the heel stomp that followed came his way Lilith Nevermore, the one girl who was immune to the zombie plague, the person that Zaru most wanted to protect – protected him. She threw herself forward and blocked his body from that stomp, and the sound of that thunderous strike against her frail body made him wake up from the stupor of the strikes and running out of adrenaline.
Pushing spiritual energy through his body, he threw his arms together and blocked the two remaining strikes with all the force which he could muster. Even against the surprise strikes, it was enough to see him survive the strikes, and see her survive the strikes as well. Enough for whatever was controlling these Shadow gladiatorial games to give him a pass without knocking out and send him and Lili home. As they began to flicker and the world around them all flickered, sending them back to their world but providing a momentary rift among worlds. As Lili used her innate mystic powers to heal Zaru, grievous, undead cackling could be heard from the shadows. Apparently the zeds had been attracted to the shadows of spiritual energy being thrown around by this frantic fight.
Reaching into his jacket pocket, Zaru got out his hold out pistol. It only had two bullets, that was enough for what it needed to do if he couldn't fight the beasts off. The world's hope would die out, but at least that hope wouldn't be transformed into something tainted and evil.
