Nothing happened after everyone dropped to the ground, Melody half expected an explosion, and only crickets sounded off as people stood back up with a shrug to continue their drinking. With a sigh, she figured someone had stopped the incoming blast to her relief, and she peeled off Portobello helping him back up on his feet walking towards a different backdoor exit, the same one the samurai had used to overhear her conversation with Romanus in the alleyway. She instructed her assistant to safely return to their penthouse style hotel specifically for the Duchies at the base of the Grand Duke’s castles at the heart of the city. Melody unsheathed her sword tied at the hip of her obi, standing directly behind the unknown samurai who brandished a sword at her earlier, and gave a knowing glance to Cress who was across the way standing next to Will O’ Wisp. “Don’t let the cat get away, Cress. I suspect he eves dropped on my conversation with Ma-Te’s killer, he claims to be a son of Korin, I am not sure whose side he is on at this point, he masked his power level so I wouldn’t detect him which means he was spying on me. I never thought he would cross me so easily like that, he pretends to be an old cat full of wisdom, but he has betrayed my trust with his sneakiness.” She sized up Riku in front of her for a second as she stood about two inches taller than him, “On the other hand, this short fool dared to draw his blade at a Duchess, which is also unforgivable.”Melody rolled her shoulders, outstretched her neck from side to side, and took up a blade master’s stance. There was an air of confidence when she spoke the next few words, “Alright, you two want to fight. I will gladly give you one, so bring it on, show us your moves.”[325] [2,280] Koma @null Rik Romanus Will O. Wisp

Many things were happening at once that Will became confused. First, the young orange samurai he met from earlier then comes out and declares he wants to kill this Ma-Te's as he is on orders to take down from the higher-ups of the Pig Demon Duchies. Then this cyborg samurai shows up and that's something Will thought he would certainly not see this day. Then this other man with Melody starts threatening them who seems to have a very malicious aura. And now one of them is about to blow up the casino and possibly kill many people. Will didn't want the people in the casino to get hurt even if most of them in there do not count as innocent. He came out from behind to door to intercept the blast and knock it upwards into the sky. When suddenly the orange samurai intercepts the attack with their own blade. Will was highly impressed with their swordsmanship skills. Will was then standing there, out in the open, realizing that Melody and her accomplice see them. Now Will finds himself in an even deeper situation. As the person, he once called a friend telling the man known as Cress to silence him for listening in on them. Even going as far as to doubt Will is a son of Korin. "Melody you misunderstand, I suppress my power level all the time when I am not fighting just so I wouldn't hurt anyone or accidentally break anything it's just a common courtesy thing that I have been doing for my whole life that I never stopped doing it. I just came here and sensed out your power to talk to you about finding a decent place to stay here that wasn't filled with women dressed in clothes that barely cover themselves, because I came here to stay for a while to visit my father Korin. I didn't mean to hear what I heard today or get involved in it, and I can hardly believe it either, the selfless powerful women I knew who helped those people on that ship or helped me with the sick Turtle School people. Please, you have to tell me that there is some clever plan or something out of all of this some kind of trap for this killer and you didn't mean those things you said about how you were happy about that man being killed or that you only care about gaining more power. I will gladly leave if you tell me the truth of what's really going on here, and what you said earlier is true I am afraid I can't just walk away and let that young samurai die to that evil man that you let off easy only because he was a means to your ends or this other gentleman who was at the wrong place at the wrong time," Will said. What Will said was filled with nothing but the cold hard truth. He then released all of his power as an act of defiance. To show that he is not afraid. This is not how he wanted to spend his winter vacation, fighting someone he thought he knew, but it seems it has come to that point. At the very least he won't be fighting alone, even if he doesn't know that person, although they do seem to be a better friend then Melody is being at this moment.

Rik saw the shady sort of character take the chance afforded him by the samurai representing the Grand Dukes and the Duchess arguing to turn tail and run. He lowered his sword and watched, honestly curious as to how this was going to turn out. He lowered his sword and started to turn around as the duchess, Melody, called out her warning; he initiated a scan of the area as the larger samurai ran past him towards the law breaker who was building up a ki blast of some sort.
Scanning...
Large Ki Signature detected.
Attack imminent.
He moved in front of the doorway where the Duchess had gone and began tapping into his ki to form the best defense he could... until he saw the attack rocket into the sky and burst harmlessly almost like a giant firework. The explosion colored the navy of the sky as Riku turned back to the hulking man who seemed to be some sort of body guard or attendant to the Duchess. He walked closer to the man, "Perhaps it escapes your knowledge, brute, but I follow the code of bushido. Allow me to summarise for you; I uphold Gi, which is Justice. I show Chu, loyalty to my fellow samurai and warriors of the law, I embrace Yu which is courage in the face of danger, I show Jin which is compassion to those in need, I embrace Rei which means I show respect to those who deserve it and sometimes those who do not, I live within Makoto the integrity with which I strive to live my life, I employ Jisei the self control necessary of a warrior, and most of all I live for Meiyo, my Honor. This is the code of bushido, whomever you are. Are you the Duchesses secretary or her body guard?"
Riku walked a few steps closer as the man continued to run his mouth and impugn the other warrior's honor. He pointed up to the sky and said, "It appears the "one who ran away from the fight" saved this place and your patron. Perhaps you should use the space between your ears for more that a place to grow hair." Riku initiated a scan of the man as he stopped a few feet away from him.
Scanning... ... Subject is a male Saiyin hybrid... Scanning... No match for other half. Power level of Subject: 7,800 Recommend caution.
Rik showed no sign of any distress on his face and indeed felt little. What kind of man would he be if he let some bully do whatever they wanted, no matter how powerful they were; a man must be willing to be the one who stood in the way of the flood of evil if it was ever to be stopped. He stared steadily into the man's eyes and repeated, "I said, we should try to find a solution that doesn't involve violence so we don't have to kick your ass between your ears. Now that I am closer, perhaps you can hear me a little better."
He was getting ready to open his mouth to say more when he heard the duchess Melody call out to the brute not to let the Cat get away... apparently this fellow's name was Cress. He saw the cat-kin from earlier, one Will O' Wisp, apparently a descendant of Korrin; a name he had learned of since his awakening was significant. He raised his eyebrow at her attempt to paint him with the lawbreaker's ways and said, "I drew my blade not on you but on this fool who threatened a samurai in the rightful carrying out of his duty. However, if you wish to press the issue, I will not let you murder this cat-kin named Will O' Wisp, who is a master of the turtle school. The Turtle Hermit school was known and respected even in my day and I will stand by him and defend his life and Show you my moves if it must be so."
He moved to stand more by the cat-kin and faced the two foes who had arrayed themselves against them. In a low whisper he said, "I hope you are packing more power than I, Master Wisp, I am afraid the big gentleman is quite powerful according to my sensors. Never fear, however. I will stand by your side. However it turns out."

Insult after insult assailed his ears. They buzzed about his head like a swarm of angry bees, darting to and fro, seeking purchase within his mind. It brought him back to those caves from so long ago. He'd wandered the subterranean network of caves and tunnels hidden amid the rocky cliff face that was the only home he had ever known, full of deep shadows and vicious vermin. He could hear his mother's whispers, as surely as he could smell the ocean on the cool, salty breeze that blew through the caves. Weak. Pathetic. Worthless. There was no end to them. His mother was dead, but the insults had not stopped. They remained just as painful as they had been all those decades ago, and in so many ways, he began to feel like that helpless child trapped back in those dank caves yet again. But there was a major difference between then and now. The ground began to tremble at their feet. Brick and mortar walls began to groan in duress beneath the sudden straining pressure of spiritual energy. "You wanna know what gets me every time?"The quaking increased as he released his power. It began to blossom and grow, surrounding him in a violet-hued aura. Fissures formed in the pavement at his feet, the ground beginning to cave from the sheer weight of his aura. "It's always the little ones who run their mouths. I dunno if you're brave or just plain stupid, so how about I give you a little lesson from plain ol' Mother Nature herself."The quaking intensified as his aura climbed higher and higher. He raised a meaty fist, jabbing a thumb against his chest. "Eat or be eaten. Kill or be killed. You traipse about your little cities enjoying all your creature comforters, so obsessed with wiping your asses with all the extra zeni, and don't even notice the predator lurking in your midst. Lemme spell it out for you." Thick veins protruded from his forehead and neck, a clear sign that he was pissed off if his ascending power level hadn't given away the truth. Cress took a step forward and leaned down, until the bridge of his nose nearly touched Riku's own. His eyes were flat and lifeless, void of anything resembling a human being. That was because he wasn't human. "You wanna fight? We'll fight. And if you and the cat lose, I'm going to raze this entire fucking block to the ground. I can be a real demon if I wanna be. And who the hell is gonna stop me?" Something was wrong. It wasn't the usual boisterous macho crap he spouted when someone got him riled up. There was a terrifying truth that rang out with his words. Their collective insults had finally struck a nerve. The demon was coming out. Melody Romanus Zukkah Koma Rik Will O. Wisp [ 474 / 2256 ]

Melody narrowed her eyes at Will O’ Wisp’s explanation of his secret arrival, there was no apology in his words, while he played it off as misunderstanding, he did not use his own infinite wisdom to learn why she never kept her power level hidden, and the answer was obvious by the Duchy laws in place which required that only the strong can rule over the western lands. In the past, she acquired her title when she defeated the former Duke in a duel approved by the Duchies from a noble that was no longer fit to hold the title; the cat never bothered to learn this the few times they spent together to understand why she took offense to him sneaking around her even if it was unintentional, he still looked for her, and she was defensive about it. Keeping her power level unsuppressed kept her enemies at bay, she could not afford masking her power to deal with the common rabble, and every minute she spent protecting her title mattered to her on a personal level. Will was right about one thing, of course she had ulterior motives for offering Romanus a second chance, she gave most children an opportunity at redeeming themselves by exiling them, she believed being removed from society would teach the lesson of their vile deeds. There was also the matter of the death of an Oolong descendant, she perceived that as a weakness by the Grand Dukes who were unable to protect a precious heir, Ma-Te died at the hands of a complete stranger, and it was an opportunity she needed to challenge their strength over their rule of the land. Protecting the legacy for the Duchies was of the highest priority to display their combined strength and to allow such an atrocity to happen at close proximity meant that people were no longer safe under their protection. “Just saying ‘please’ doesn’t mean I have to tell you a damn thing. We are not friends. I lost all hope for a hero to save me the day I almost died at five years old so I find it difficult to trust anyone. Where were you Will, hiding in Korin’s tower while people suffered, and you expect me to believe you are a noble hero? I reached a point where everything I do is to protect my self worth because no one else is going to do it better than I can. I am not the woman you think I am to be labeled as entirely selfless… I am a killer queen bee, the honey to sweeten your tea, and I can personally demonstrate the taste with the tip of my blade.”Melody found it arduous to display her true self, she was guarded because emotions hurt otherwise, and she was not going to allow herself to appear weak in front of Will. If he really wanted her to unveil her true self, all he needed to do was act cute and melt her frozen heart over in a single blow; because her affinity for beast folk and children were the only beings on earth that she was truly selfless over. Time could not be turned back to make it right, this lesson between them had to be learned the hard way, and about all three of the four were eager to fight for their convictions. It was a matter of settling their indifferences, bushido, being a hero, none of these philosophies would mend the pain a Duchess and her Vassal had been through in the past; sacrificing a typical martial artist education due to the lack of a proper upbringing by their parents which forced the both of them to stray too far from the path of righteousness. However, Cress seemed angrier than usual, the demonic power coursing through him caused the ground quake, while she had no intention to hold back she ultimately had not planned to end their lives. “It appears that other samurai took my prey so you two will have to occupy our time and we can take him on after.”[682] [2,962]

Will could not believe what Melody was saying right now, she was talking like a straight-up supervillain to him. It is hard to tell if it was an act or is this her true self but if it is she is playing it off way too much. Will's eyes turned to slants as he growled and shakes his clenching fist at this revelation. It does not matter what history they had before, that is all in the past. What is happening the present is what matters. Even her so-called friend by her side who claims to be a demon and might as well be one. Claiming that he is going to raise this block to the ground. It's not blustering either he seems to have the power to match his bravado. Will needs to do everything in his power to make sure they win so that people die here today especially by some blood-lusting maniac who might be a demon in disguise or a half-demon, and he thought he already had enough with demons already and now he must face another one today. Truly his luck must be the worst on Earth if he keeps getting into situations like this. Then Will watches as the orange samurai and killer go out somewhere else to have their battle, he hopes that they would be able to finish the one they can finish this battle quickly and go to be of an aide that young man against his opponent. It was then the cybernetic samurai spoke, who spoke noble words from his heart. Truly a paragon if he ever saw one, besides himself of course. He is glad to have met this man even by accident. "I am glad to have met you noble samurai, I hope if we win this upcoming fight that we could train with each other one day. And thank you for honoring me and my school as well. Power levels are but a number, they don't fully decide who wins the battle. Many other factors can be involved, skill, strategy, the element of surprise, and experience. Unfortunately for them that I happen to have more experience in my belt that they would ever know. Even then though I guarentee we will be the victors so if we fall here I am glad it would be by your side even if we are but strangers to each other," Will said. He then looks towards Melody again, the words she said still stings. He then calmly breathed in and out. "I am truly sorry for eavesdropping on you, yes I did make excuses but I was flustered and confused. I truly thought you were a good person, that you were someone I could call a friend. However, it seems even my judgment of character is failing me these days. You are wrong on some things though, I was never hiding in Korin's Tower, hell I have been up there in over 90 years when I was but a young boy who wanted to explore the world. I also did not know about that awful moment in your past, that trauma is too much for a girl that young," Will said. It was then that teardrops begin to drip down from his eyes and off his whiskers. He then looks towards Melody no longer with anger but with a solemn expression. One full of true sadness. "But even though you went through such tragedy that is no excuse to be acting the way you are now! What happened to the Melody who helped clean up the oceans and calmed down the Umibozu? Or the Melody that helped the Turtle School when they were sick and helped me train some young ones? That's the Melody who I heard earlier, or the one is claiming she wants to kill me, whatever your motive is for wanting to become ruler of these lands there is a better way! You can be the better person that I know you could be!" Will said. After wiping away his tears his head looked down at the floor, what he would say next would sound darker and serious. "If you truly still wish to fight us, if you truly want me dead, then we shall do so. After I beat you I would gladly tell the Pig Demon Duchies of what happened here, however, I am going to give you one last chance to make the right decision here. All you need to do is not follow me to where I am going. I don't want to fight here as to danger the people, and I am sure if you want to rule these lands you don't want to endanger the people here either or make a scene even if your trigger happy friend wants to. So I am going to go somewhere in the woods, and if you follow us still intending to fight and not righting your wrongs then I have no choice but to fight you. However, if you do not decide to fight, if you have a change of heart and perhaps want to make things better, then I will not tell anyone else of what you said, you have my word," Will explained. After giving a courteous bow he then turns and walks away heading towards the forest. He just hopes that he accepts his offer and doesn't follow them, that he does not have to fight her, but that seems to be the most likely outcome at this moment. It is one thing to fight a killer, a monster, or a robot, but nothing hurts more than fighting someone that you called and thought of once as a friend. It's like the universe keeps testing him by putting hurdles as tall as mountains for him to jump over. Even then he shall not falter if he does have to fight her even how much it would hurt his heart. Truly this is the worst day of his life so far since waking up. Now of all times, he wishes he never woke up at all. Perhaps the world would be better off if he stayed asleep and or died back then, no, no time for such thoughts. Thoughts like that lead into a dark path that is hard to climb out of. He must be clear of the mind if she does still wishes to do battle.

Koma had not mentioned anything about education, when talking to the half-demon half-saiyan who had tried to bar his way and tried to threaten him. No, the son of Swing had mentioned the intelligence of the half-demon, but then again in his eyes Cress had just proved that he did not even understand that his intelligence itself was being insulted, or didn't understand that there was a difference between 'book learning' and actual intelligence.
That didn't matter though as the cowardly terrorist thug who kept trying to explode people and buildings, causing collateral damage because he didn't have the balls to aim for a single target and leave clear evidence of whatever he did- he was trying to run like a coward before Koma could even finish. The building, written plainly on a sign as some sort of hotel or apartment block or possibly casino called the 'Deus Ex Machina', which Koma could not at all understand the placement of, given when he was in the Rooster Gambling Hall last, they would have never put up with the construction of such a building without putting up a fight against it via zoning laws and directly petitioning the Grand Duke Oolong, who ran this city, and the City Council- it was the Saiyan thug's apparent attempted escape route, and while the yellow-bellied street tough tried to use this machine of god, along with other methods to hide his path, Koma did not allow it.
Before the flashbang was even tossed, Koma was leaping to the building and before it had went far at all the Saiyan was running around the pillars of the fifth story where he had landed, using his abilities of spiritual energy manipulation to create a blade of ki and using his katchin sword in his other hand, slicing the pillars of the building as he ran through it, before finishing hitting the construction site's pillars and using his spiritual energy to propel him forward with a Dragon's Dash out the other side as the building began to fall.
Perhaps Romanus thought he would escape in such an area, but Koma had no intention of letting that idiotic coward dictate anything about the place of their inevitable duel. If anyone asked him about the destruction of the construction site, it didn't matter. If he told the truth it wouldn't matter as he was on the business of the Grand Dukes. If he lied? Well, the lunatic had already tried to destroy two buildings, why wouldn't he have tried to destroy a third?
