Cayle knew nothing of what traditional schooling was, given the nature of his existence and the fact that he was both an alien to the Planet Earth and to its culture. Saiyans taught by making you do things, and Tuffles had no real interest in actually teaching Cayle and the others that they tested the brain capacity of, at least not in any real sense. The more canny a Saiyan was the more of a threat they were, after all. So he had no idea of Toad Lily's struggles, and had no way to understand that the genius would-be medical practitioner was eccentric in some ways because necessity required it.
He patiently waited as she processed his words, the Saiyan keeping a neutral expression upon his face as he did and his expression did not change even slightly until she started to speak, his icy blue eyes widening and then narrowing as he listened to her and took mental notes of a sort about what she had to say. He waited until she was done before responding.
“I want you to have it because it is important to me that you do. In the short time that we've known each other I can't stop thinking about you and it feels...” he shrugged, trying to think of the way he wanted to say the words. “Refreshing to think of something other than the cold war with the Tuffles which I am about to have to fight. I wasn't born in a place where they had wish granting orbs, and if that thing is a shard of it, then that means that the orbs are... broken so neither were you. There's probably still magic in it, and even if there aren't it can remind you of your favorite storybook. I don't need something to make my wishes happen, though, because that's what willpower and determination are for.”
He paused, having went on what amounted to a tangent before focusing back on the primary matter at hand. “Except for whatever this feeling is that I feel about you. I don't think that I could just make it happen any other way... so please accept the dragon ball shard, if that's what it really is. It's important to me that you do, so that you have something that you can think of me about other than the fact that I stole your first kiss on accident.”
The Saiyan former farm boy was not a dunce like the stereotype of his species, after all- and more than that he was being sincere. He wanted her to think about him without having the taint of their accidental first kiss hurt her emotional triumphs. “Though it does make me think... if they are shattered for real, isn't that bad? I wonder what happened, and it makes me wonder if Earth is actually far more dangerous than I thought. We should schedule some time for us to train in the martial arts together before your birthday, so that we can be sure you are safe when we go to Pilafland.”

Ty was instantly star struck, she touched the shard with her fingers to pick up from the table, feeling its hidden power instantly, and her expression made her an open book on how happy she was to have something like this in her possession. It was a relief for Cayle to affirm his feelings about her, she could understand why he enjoyed her company, and she was happy to be the light at the end of the tunnel. The idea that she could make a difference for someone she truly cared about pleased her to the fullest; especially since all it took was to be herself, even if it involved in holding on to the little things she cared about, and blowing it out of proportions whenever she struggled with it. The mention of the mystical magical dragon balls being broken before she was born confused her a bit since it was all a theory for Cayle with nothing but a shard and a children’s picture book as proof.
“Ah, well. I guess I can forgive you at least once with this.” She smiled teasing him about it, despite the possibility that he might have believed the exchange value.
“The world seems like a dangerous place but there are capable people looking out for the community all the time. Unless we find another shard piece like this one, we will not know for sure, if they are part of the dragon balls. Training sounds great, I could probably do a whole lot more than concentrate my fighting spirit, I just have to be careful not to hurt anyone with my innate saiyan abilities!”

“Fighting... spirit?” he had heard of that in some of the martial arts films and series he had watched with Carlos Alfonso, but he certainly did not think of it as an actual thing, necessarily. The Saiyan thought for a moment of his own childhood, the only time he had actually received formal training in the martial arts, if you could call a homesteader teaching his boy's the basics of the barbaric fighting styles of the ancient Saiyans 'formal training'.
“My father made me train by throwing stones at me until I could block them or dodge them. He said if I could dodge a stone I could dodge a punch. He also made me begin hunting game at the age of four, with nothing more than a few stones and my wits... I'm not sure how that trained Fighting Spirit, but let me confirm for you, Saiyan natural abilities aren't a threat to anyone so long as you learn to actually master them. I mean, the average low class Saiyan only has the power level of ten or twenty or so if they are lucky, compared to the average Earthling power level that I've seen of two or three. It isn't that much of a difference, though I suppose it explains our abnormal strength and speed compared to humans, even without being trained.”[/color]
He could still remember vividly the first kill he had made while hunting game, the saber tooth boar which had lunged at him and which he had dodged only by leaping into a tree. He still remembered bashing its brains out with the stone which he held in his hands, and how his Uncle Onio Potaset had complained about the brains being stirred up and how it would 'ruin the taste'. The 19 year old man also remembered his four year old self being complimented for his work by his father ruffling his hair and giving him a bear hug. The thought made a single tear flow down his cheek. Would he ever see his father again? He doubted it heavily, given the man's fighting capability and power level and given that Pota Potaset had been gone doing militia work when their village was ransacked and abducted by the Tuffle Science Executive.
He wiped the tear from his cheek, before steeling himself. He could not be sure he could do anything for his own family, though he planned to try his hardest to do so. So he had to be sure he could do what he could for Tiger Lily and her family, to make sure that they didn't suffer the same fate that his clan had suffered at the hands of the Tuffle Science Executive.
“I'm sorry for that, I was just thinking of days long gone and far away. That said, the best way I can think to train is through a spar. It will help me determine the basic abilities that you have, and if you know any other super tier martial artists, we can spar with them too.”

While she listened to Cayle explain his personal training as a child, she imagined herself being thrown rocks, and frowned at the thought as she did not find that method to be effective. Saiyans being stronger than the average human sounded cool but that meant she needed to be careful around people if that the case. While she reflected for a moment, there was a moment of silence while Cayle processed his thoughts, and he shed a tear as he recalled something painful. Tiger Lily stood up immediately to try to console him with a hug but she ended up in his lap instead on accident. Somehow she had stepped on her shoelace while rushing towards him and she scrambled back on her feet with a blush and embraced him by the neck; his face buried in her chest. At this point, she just wanted him to feel better, despite his painful past, and failed to notice that she was suffocating him until she pulled away slightly to look down into his icy blue eyes with a soft smile.
“You’re doing many great things, helping people, and making new friends now. I know earth is not your home but it can be. I will help you find your people when I am strong enough to do that. If everyone was brought over here from your home planet, somehow we can find a way to go back, and I can see Planet Plant for myself. Sounds like you have a lot of work cutout for you already. You should take a break when we go to Pilaf Land next week. How does that sound?”
Without letting him answer, she smiled as she became lost in his eyes, with her own green hues, and leaned in to kiss him deeply; parting her lips to taste cilantro in his mouth and she pulled away with a gasp at what she had done. “Uh… I got carried away for a bit there… my bad.”

The Saiyan former farm boy was rather surprised at this turn of events. He was already largely feeling better when Tiger Lily suddenly fell into his lap, then righted herself, and hugged him in a way he had never experienced nor seen, with his face pressed against her soft bosom. Before he realized time had passed, she spoke to him of his situation, and in the process of it all caused their third kiss to happen. The Saiyan's face was heated when they parted, but he was not entirely sure why- and then he fixated on something that she said. His nostrils flared as he righted himself from this strange, overly luxurious respite, which made him feel at least a little guilty on top of his affection for Tiger Lily.
“No, it is not 'your people', Tiger Lily, you are a Saiyan as well and thus it is 'our people', Tiger Lily. So you should embrace using your Saiyan name, too. You may not have been exposed to the culture but I'll do my best to teach you what I know and have the others do so as well, if you're interested.”
The Saiyan gently pressed his lips to her own lips for a fourth kiss, this one only momentary, before parting and hugging her close. “This is great, Tiger Lily, but I think I need to go. I have work at 5AM tomorrow and while it isn't luxurious work, it is important and it helps feed the other Saiyans in addition to helping my friend Carlos Alfonso run his business. Please forgive me for parting from you with such short notice, though parting is such sorrow.” Before he stepped out he made for their fifth kiss, and then he headed towards the door.
“I will text you and call you, and hopefully sometime soon, before the trip, we can spend time together once again.”
Then he left out the door.
