''No, no, no target on his back or anything.'' He replied in turn to Melody mentioning Bryce and Modona. ''He did the same as me, actually. We just happened to find her together.'' Guess he should have mentioned that, but that would make her look even more able than before, taking on two high powered androids at once. ''But in the end, she was just an animal trapped in a corner.. and while trapping her might turn out a good way to go about it, I have more targets than just her.''
While the clothing thing was just him joking around, him asking for a sword was mostly that. It got Melody to mention some information that Tolvur was quite happy to hear as it at the very least gave him a place to visit in his downtime.
''No need to hire anyone for me. I'm sure I can find something in this place I can fit into.'' He dismissed her offer for a tailor. ''Even Bryce must have had simple clothing tucked away here. Besides, I'm not really the type for wide clothes, or stuff that can be easily grabbed like coats or-'' Tolvur looked down at the tattered but quite wide pants he had been wearing and smiled, realizing the amount of irony in his opinion on clothing. ''-wide pants.''
''Daily Namekian raids you say?'' He said like he knew what a Namekian was, since he wasn't too sure if Bryce's memory even included one at the moment. ''I'll have to test my skills on those. Since, you know, I lack any real training. Most of what I can do is just.. programmed in I suppose.''
Then the flick of an umbrella was heard and Tolvur watched Cadence take a more relaxed stance. Seemed that the mandroid had been lying well enough for two people, at least.
''I noticed you have a sword.'' Tolvur began, turning his eyes back on Melody and briefly glancing at the sword on her. ''You any good with it?''

“I have no issue with starting with her as the first target, before we move on to the rest of your kill list.” Melody explained, “If it's not an urgent matter, then by all means take your time formulating a plan to lay the trap, and you can count on my clan to be involved in the near future when necessary.”
The Duchess did not mince words, the harsh reality of the world was a never ending game of onitama, superior martial arts trumped the different styles, until the warlord was revoked from their position by the opponent. This was the method she used to earn her title, upon recommendation of Duke Glacier to the Duchies, her duel with the former Duke Trumpet of Truffle Village succeeded when he was unseated several years ago. Melody made history in her feat, as a titleless martial artist in the expertise of swordsmanship, and her desire to rule over the western lands was a kindle to the flame of her dream as a conqueror.
“I find it strange that androids have any modesty over their choice of clothing but perhaps the benefit lies in blending in with earthlings to remain undetected.”
The mention of being part of the first namekian defense meant he would have to leave the comforts of the farmlands.
“If you want to witness first hand what is involved with undertaking Black Heart Namekians, you only need to travel north from here, towards the coastal border of the mainland of Tundra Village, one of our allies. For hundreds of years the Pig Demon Duchies have retained control of the coast while the neighboring regions have failed.”
Tolvur was interested in her sword, it was katchin made, there was nothing special about it when the blade would become dull in a fight. The upkeep required daily polishing and sharpening to be of use with the highest quality of metal developed by Capsule Corp.
“With this sword, I earned my place as Duchess of Truffle Village, later becoming the warlord for the Bossa Nova clan of Samurai. I have been training in martial arts since I was child, like most children who are part of the Pig Demon Duchies that will inherit the legacy of their ancestors. I was a titleless blade master who defeated a Duke for his position. So of course I am experienced with using a sword. What’s it to you, Lord Tolvur?”

Itching. The mere mention of a sword made him eager for a fight he could not have right now. Asking for a spar was not really off the table here, but she had been working the land it seemed and humans were so easily caught out of breath.. Tolvur was glad he no longer had that issue, that curse. ''Titleless, you say?'' He replied as he would begin to answer why he wanted to know about her sword, his eyes on it still, though now slowly rising to meet the Duchess' eyes.
''I inquire because unlike Bryce, I do not avoid fighting.'' He tried turning away, breaking eyecontact with her for now but found himself unable to do so. There was an.. unspoken joy coming from the mandroid in that moment, because he was talking to an armed warlord. That paired with the fact she had trained since she was a child.. Tolvur knew he wasn't into fighting, but he could definitely see why Bryce respected Melody now. ''I like fighting. If not for senseless talking and the need for food and sleep- for others, not for me, I would never stop doing it.''
That wasn't to say the talk he had with her right now was senseless. It had a use as he now knew who he spoke with and where to go. And it also helped that she gave him a title, something that would probably help him in this part of the world.
Finally he broke eyecontact and turned for the house in the center of the farmland, rummaging through nooks and crannies until he would find suitable clothes. ''And to me, personally..'' He began, turning around finally and looking over at Melody. ''-it's about power. You're able to use something cold and lifeless. Like me. Consider.. me the same as your blade. Guide me and I will crush.''
''As for Modona and making a plan.. Don't you worry. Please.'' Tolvur shook his head a single time and grinned. ''She's mine and mine alone.''

“I see.” Melody blinked in response to Tolvur revealing the woman’s name as Modona, she understood what it meant to face someone independently, she found herself in similar situations in the past. “I wish you the best of luck when facing your past, Lord Tolvur.”
At the confession of his desire to fight, she deadpanned at him, and she wondered what prevented him from fighting while they were having a conversation. Melody formed bonds with all the people in her life by fighting them, so she understood that it was important to remain sharp and be able to face danger without fear.
“Well, if you’re done here, then are you up for having a tour of the Western Lands? I am sure we can find something to erase from existence along the way.”
The Duchess had become accustomed to her life in the Western Lands, killing demons from HFIL, monsters from Baba Yaga’s Black Forest domain, bandits who raided villages, and most importantly Black Heart Namekians. Every day was spent protecting the territory she preceded over and she depended on her samurai to protect the lands in her absence.

When she spoke those words about a tour through the lands.. Tolvur wasn't keen. But when she added that they could find someone to erase from this world, well, that got the full attention of the mandroid if he wasn't already giving it. ''I'm definitely up for a tour that involves erasing.'' Subconsciously he closed his hand into a fist as he broke out into a grin, hopping in place to show his eagerness to embark on this tour.
''I have stuff to work through. Shit to figure out. A fist that wants blood.'' There was no real use anymore in trying not to say what was on his mind anymore now that Melody had given his aggression a new direction. His fist slammed into his empty hand as he cracked his knuckles by doing so, stopping his hops and rolling his neck around a bit. ''Where's the closest thing I can kill?''

“I believe there is a cavern up ahead that is connected directly to HFIL. We can clear it up to prevent your farm lands from being pillaged in your absence. I had to do it myself a few times over the years.”
Without further ado, the Duchess motioned for Cadence to remain on the farm with a simple hand gesture, and she looked over her shoulder at Tolvur for him to follow her to the location in question. Soon enough there was a distinct odor in the air, of brimstone in particular, and while demons were the only ones who were able to use this portal between worlds a few low level demons would hang out at the cave entrance or inside of it.
“A few of the Duchies are from a variety of demon clans, most of them are descendants of royal lineages that hail from the dark realm at the edge of the universe, and low class demons emerge from HFIL itself.”
A sigh escaped her lips, she did not take pleasure in killing demons specifically because it kept reminding her of one of someone in particular that she had been looking for, over a year.
“I am only human.” Melody explained, “My twin born sons are descendants of a saiyan demon hybrid.”
There was an eerie silence until they reached the mouth of the cave, the scent was even stronger, and the Duchess grimaced as she waited for Tolvur to keep up.

As Cadence was taking leave from the company of the other two to remain on the farm while Tolvur and Melody went off on their little tour, he listened to words bounce about that involved some sort of cave, an entrance to HFIL and how they could clear it up to prevent invasion of the mandroid's land. A solution he was hesitant about even as Melody kept speaking, mentioning that some Duchies were or demonic varieties. Royal lineage and all that, and the cave in front of them, filling the air with a foul smell, giving way to a few low class demons every now and again.
So, would killing demons be like an act of war on other Duchies? Or did demons just not care about those lower ranking soldiers?
Tolvur followed Melody, the stench becoming more pungent with every step, while she explained what she was. And while the mandroid could have guessed that she was human, she mentioned having sons that.. were three races at once? ''Hold on.'' He said when she mentioned her sons, closing the small gap between the two to be able to speak to Melody directly. ''They're human, saiyan and demon?'' He asked, not being able to hide a grin as he realized that this could very well mean that the killing here would be his job, and not hers.
''And you want me to kill the demons, even when your sons are?'' He asked, standing next to Melody and wondering if it was a viable option to just let them be and have a monthly brawl with a pack of demons or something.

Melody noticed that Tolvur was conflicted about something, it was strange to see how expressive he was, and it was more than what she was used to with any android.
“What do you mean? My children are not in this cave.” The Duchess dead panned at him, “Just because they are racially part demon and some of the Duchies are too...does not imply that we should spare low level demons from roaming the territory. Just like there are clans of people, demons also have clans, and the ones integrated into earthling society do not live in caves. Low level demons are often erratic and their chaotic nature destroys farm lands like yours. So why are you hesitating all of a sudden?”
It was evident that Tolvur needed to read a few books, he was the least knowledgeable android she had ever met, but she was not going to express her opinion since he seemed to be able to adapt easily from asking questions and remembering the answers.

Melody seemed to be talking down to him, almost. Tolvur could almost hear in her voice what she thought of his question and it oddly irked the mandroid a bit. Especially when she dwelled on his hesitation for a moment. It seemed that, even though he was lying through his teeth for the time being, wondering about how she felt about all of this was frowned upon.
''Hesitation, huh?'' He repeated her words as his hand balled into a fist. ''I'm just asking you a question, no need to explain your life to me.'' At this point Tolvur was getting quite worked up, and it was noticeable. ''A simple yes or no would have sufficed. I'm not hesitating and instead I'm trying to show interest in what you told me despite me not caring!''
His words, as they grew louder, echoed through the cave and that was when Tolvur realized how to get himself out of this situation before he got too mad and decided to take it out on Melody, which he would regret later. Luckily his realization included the fact that they were in a cavern with demons, even if low level, he could use as stress relief. And he would. Oh he would. He would turn to a nearby wall and release the pressure built up in his fist by banging it against the wall, which hopefully drew a few demons there.
However, the cavern rumbled as the wall he just hit with his fist showed light cracks. And through the cracks was an even stronger smell. Brimstone, death and fresh blood.
Tolvur turned to Melody, lowering his fist even if there were demons on their way to them.
''Is it just me or is there something behind here?'' ==================== WC: 292 TWC: 3,507

Tolvur expressed his question might have been personal but then reminded her that he actually did not care for the answer. A smile curled on her lips, it was interesting that he was losing his patience all of a sudden, and he was showing his true colors for a brief moment. It was strange to be so contradicting--for an Android. Melody suspected this was a mechanical embodiment’s attempt at being humanized by showing interest in something they could care less about.
The tone of his voice echoed in the shallow cavern, if the brimstone ordor was not sufficiently unpleasant, the crack Tolvur left when he punched the wall with his fist released a foul putrid fish smell. The Duchess nearly hunched over from the horrible smell, having a difficult time maintaining her composure, and then held her breath to resist.
The wall crumbled from the pressure, revealing three demons surrounding a massive pile of rotting fish, and body parts belonging to unsuspecting traveling peasants mixed in. The first to respond was the shark beastman hybrid, clenching its massive sharpened jaw at Melody, who instinctively raised her forearm to guard herself from being decapitated. If it had not been for the putrid stench, she would have been able to withdraw her katana in time, and relied on instinct to react. Red blood splattered across her white designer kimono and onto Tolvur’s face from being in close proximity to the assault.
The remaining two demons, a red skinned muscular female humanoid with black sclera eyes and gold irises closed in on the mandroid by sweeping at his feet with her spiked kanabō, immediately followed by the much smaller pale skinned demon with stark white sclera without irises launching an organic ship anchor aimed directly at Tolvur’s face. Even as Tolvur spoke the wall seemed to crumble, giving way to what was behind it and answering what the mandroid had been thinking of. There was something behind there, and it came out in the form of three people around a sort of feast. A smelly one.
As soon as they took note of Melody and her companion they acted, the shark-like being first as he lunged forward with the intent of using its jaw for what it was meant, and succeeding only partly. He didn't get to the neck of the Duchess but instead got a good hit in on her arm and drew blood, blood Tolvur got on his face which strangely motivated him as he tasted the familiar iron enter his mouth. And at the same time, the smell which had been sending his nose all over the place was now less noticeable as the coppery smell of blood was splattered right under and next to his nose.
However, this distracted him from the huge spiky mace thing sweeping his feet out from under him, Tolvur only barely being able to react in way of cushioning his own impact, as he would have tob quickly react after that when an anchor was thrown at him.
Thinking quickly, he dodged the anchor by pushing himself off of the ground in a sideways motion as he heard the weapon cut the air next to him, as his hand gripped the 'handle' of the anchor before giving it a hard pull. The demon that held it stumbled forward and Tolvur, jumping behind the demon, pulled back the handle over the shoulder and attempted to lodge its head in the curved opening of the anchor. If everything went as it should, this would decapitate a single demon and take the anchor wielding one out of the fight.
It all depended on what Melody would do. ================== WC: 315 TWC: 3,822

Melody’s violet eyes noticed Tolvur was waiting rather than recklessly attacking in retaliation, the opposite of his inpatient personality, as if he was expecting her command? The moment she pushed back the shark, by opening its jaws open with her free hand, she immediately withdrew her daito from its sheath.
“It doesn’t matter if we kill them, when they return to HFIL, they will eventually consume enough souls to return back to earth. No mercy!”
In one fluid movement, the tip of her blade rotated with her wrist, as if swinging at a curve ball in a baseball game. The blade sliced the shark between the legs upwards, splitting the demon perfectly in half, while gushing out dark red blood with the scent of brimstone.
The Duchess was experienced in dealing with demons, she murdered Cress’ mother when she attacked Truffle village, like any ordinary day in the western lands. Less than nine months later, the demoness was able to seek revenge for her death, by placing a blood curse on Melody with her unborn twins. Since the blood of the demoness coursed through their veins, she was able to cast a spell that would kill her by having the twins absorb all her power before she could go into labor, and fortunately her life was spared by a mystic healer to sever the connection just in time.
Once again she lost track of that strawberry pink haired demoness who kept threatening the lives of her family. Eventually Cress disappeared a couple of months later, after the twins were born, and the pair of boys developed their own demon powers to giant form into full sized children. While it had only been a few months, the boys were able to recollect their drunk half demon father, and were on speaking terms for a short period of time.
