Arashi had little idea of the value of the item he now carried. All he knew was that it was shiny and that it might be worth something to someone. Of course, the fact that it was shiny made him want to keep it himself, but if it was worth something then he thought it might be worth selling.
Right now he didn't really have any money. But Lily, and Cayle had been very kind to him, taking care of him, and allowing him to stay with them. Maybe they didn't want anything, but he wasn't satisfied doing nothing for them. Particularly for Lily who was like the sun shining joy and love on everyone around her. Whatever treasure he might have, he thought she was the true treasure of this world. Her, and people like her. He didn't know her too well yet, and yet he felt he knew enough to know that she would never abandon or betray him. It was more than an instinct, it was like an undeniable truth that glowed in his heart and warmed him. He could not have denied his admiration and affection for the young woman if he wished to.
Cayle was kind as well, but not in the same way. He was a steadfast as a stone. He seemed like the kind of man who would make a decision and stick with it to the end, unlikely to shift without a dramatic change in the situation. There was a line, and he stood fast behind it. That was his impression of him. He was kind too, if slightly less... "Bright" than the way Lily was. He didn't shine the way she did, but he didn't need to. He was the steadfast support, the man who would stand with unflinching determination. He was the stone that stood behind Lily, though she seemed to hardly need the support. He knew if she ever did that Cayle would be the man to hold her firm.
He walked into a building. It was small but had many interesting looking little knick nacks around the place. He didn't know what anything he was looking at was. And as he reached out to touch something a voice from the back shreaked out! "DON'T TOUCH THAT!"
Arashi was so startled by the shrill voice he almost fell all over himself tripping over, and falling to the floor with a small thud and a puff of dust as his body hit the floor. Giving a little grunt as he stood up and made his way to the voice.
He came to a wall, that had once been a window, though it was so dirty with age it was a dark shade of grey. He could barely see the shadow of a person on the other side, a small table under the window, and a slit where little more than hands could hope to slide through.
And indeed a hand did slide through. An old thin hand of what he assumed was a woman judging from the voice on the other side. "Show me what you want to sell!" Called the voice, the hand was thin, heavily wrinkled, and covered in many rings of both cheap and expensive designs, wearing glass and rare gems alike without concern for style.
He placed the shiny object in her hand before it pulled back. He could see the shadow of her silhouette examine the object and lightly gasp at the sight of it. "My! You have found something interesting, haven't you! This will be worth quite a lot I think... If I had to guess it would be worth..." She paused to consider the amount.

The number that the woman came back with might have been impressive, but he had no idea what the value of zeni was. But the number at least sounded high. "If that's the price you offer, I will accept it for the object. Thank you." He said taking the zeni she offered before leaving the shop. The last thing he heard was a delighted cackle from the woman inside as the door closed behind him.
